So, wait? Loki did to X-5/Brad what he did to Clint and Selvig in Avengers 1, but without the Mind Stone?? Am I understanding this correctly??

Since Avengers was only like. 2 weeks ago for this Loki (something I totally forgot about until he referred to Thor 1 as "a few years ago"), so I wonder if this is because he was in such close proximity to the Mind Stone for that entire movie or what, I'm curious as to what it means
