Let talk about Lilia in the anime
Okay, I'm just finished Taming the Final Boss manga, and I have to say I am very disappointed with how the anime adaptation butchered Lilia's character. For me and many viewers watching for the first time without reading the manga, it just came across as her action came off as confusing. Like would it kill them to give her more screen time where she acts a bit off? Maybe a little evil chuckle to herself?
If anything, it appears that only Prince Cedric is the main antagonist, with Lilia taking a back seat and going along with everything. By making him the main antagonist, Lilia's character suffers, leading to her actions being nothing but confusing. For example, why did she go to Lord Claude; we never saw any intention from her wanting to do so. And why did she write those notes? Since we know LITERALLY nothing about her, this doesn't benefit her. At least with bottom-of-the-barrel isekai, they at least establish the villain's motivation.
In the manga, Lilia's character makes whole a lot more sense. In the anime, she accidently for some reason wanders into the demon load's castle and genuinely wants to help him. However, in the manga, she used some of the game dialogue on Lord Claude, assuming by just using some words He would fall head over heels for.
And it's not like this came out of the blue, it was established earlier in the manga. Lilia was in the same world as our protagonist and only see his world as a game. In this world, she believes has full control just like when she was alive. And when we see The Demon Lord reject, she starts to panic, we see that believe belief in her starts to crumble a bit.
She doesn't understand, she used the right dialogue. Why didn't it work on him?
I know I am probably asking too much for an anime like this, but come on, it would kill them to add a little screen time to Lilad. At the very least, with "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs" they establish that the game protagonist is a manipulative bitch and provide her with enough scenes to establish that.
But they had to butcher Lilia's character, in fav of their newer evil antagonist.
TL: DR In manga, Lilia's character is WAY better. The anime completely butchers her character.

Aileen Lauren d'Autriche is one of the main characters of the Light Novel series “I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss” and its anime and manga adaptations.

After being dumped in public by the Crown Prince, some memories of her past life were triggered and she discovers that she is in fact the antagonist of a famous game called “Regalia of Saints, Demons, and Maidens”. In most of the game routes, the ending leads to the awakening of the Demon Lord and his confrontation against Lilia Reinoise, the game's main heroine, that ultimately causes her death.
In order to avoid her tragic fate, Aileen decides to conquer the heart of the Demon Lord and prevent his awakening using the knowledge she acquired from her past life, doing everything she judges necessary to lead herself to her desired happy ending.
“I’ll do anything to prevent my miserable downfall. I’m Aileen Lauren d'Autriche and I am the only one that can decide my fate!”
