Okay the ending was not bad, but to say I am not mad would be a lie *flips table*

Like… I am glad she didn’t said: „monogamous ending, only two of them end up together“

But instead she said: „girl falls for boy 1, but boy 1 is gay and falls for boy 2, who falls for no one, so every love confession gets reject. But they accept that and grow with those rejections, and in the end they always stay best friends“

Like…. WHAT?! Boy 2 never gets any exploration of his sexuality, gay, bi, straight? No one knows. And the whole manga is: „I love you two so much“ and on the last pages it is: „… AS FRIENDS!“

This is why I only read poly stories when I know it ends in a poly relationship. Why bothering if it doesn’t?!

I know so many mangas who have such an amazing set up to explore alternative ways of love and then panic and eventually make it: „super boring normal ending“ what for? We have enough of those! *looks angry at daytime shooting star*

Also there is a second ot3 with a gay boy on the manga. They had a fight, and separated but instead of getting closure they stay miserable.

I remember how I ask someone about „Genderless Danshi ni Ai sarete imasu“ and asked if it is non binary representation and fans answered: „not really. He just dresses genderless“ big wow 😐

Same goes for Madoka no Himitsu. Instead of non binary representation we have a boy dressing in girls cloths because his sister likes to dress him up, and when his classmate finally accept him he is still wearing „boy cloths“.

Grrrrrr! I think they are only really few mangas who do a really good job at non binary, trans and poly representation. And that list is SHORT!

not to be dramatic but i am so tired of certain magical girl fans who, in 2024, whine about madoka ruining the genre and how "thanks to madoka there are no lighthearted magical girl shows anymore and everything is all dark and gritty now >>:(" because that's not true at all!! if lighthearted magical girl shows aren't in demand anymore then why is toei still making precure seasons? not only that but there are a bunch of new magical girl shows coming out this year alone. but instead you choose to give attention to madoka wannabe #324 and fetish bait show #582 to whine about how "magical girls are dead now".

you want lighthearted, fluffy, fun magical girl shows? THEN FUCKING SUPPORT THEM!

himitsu no aipri, which is a part of the pretty series, will air on april 7

acro trip will premiere some time this year

magilumiere co ltd will premiere in the fourth quarter of this year

the magical girl and evil lieutenant used to be archenemies will air in july of this year

GO SUPPORT THESE SHOWS INSTEAD OF WHINING ABOUT THE GENRE BEING DEAD, THEN WE CAN TRULY HAVE A MAGICAL GIRL RENAISSANCE.

Ok I know I haven't posted anything on here but hear me out.

Another magical girl deconstruction that involves the main character slowly getting burnt out from battling monsters every week. We slowly see her getting low grades, getting sleep deprived, and lose her friends. This makes her a recluse.

The beginning starts off like typical magical girl stuff like Sailor Moon and Precure. Then we go into the deconstruction bit. No evil weasels, no bad guy actually be good, just a burnt out young girl.

Madoka Magica has mentioned something like this before but never really explored it. Yuki Yuna is a Hero makes it look like fun (alongside Madoka if I'm being real here). And Magical Girl Raising Project is just Fortnite but with Magical Girls so I can't really call it a deconstruction.

I don't know, I feel like it will be a great trope to deconstruct.

Also if I here one person say that we have too many dark magical girls, they clearly don't know thier history. Himitsu no Akko-chan features the main character having a stillborn older sister, Sailor Moon has the characters die in almost every season finale, and Princess Tutu...the OG Madoka Magica.
