@peachmuses: theyre out shopping, shuuzou had found a nicer belt that he liked -- that he wouldn't wear himself but makoto would, and had disappeared leaving the rest of pb behind. he reappears, and tugs makoto closer to him, ignoring the others intently focused on his goal. fingers quickly, expertly, undoes makoto's current belt, tugs it through and is replacing it with the newest one. leather, black, golden accessories that matches makotos eyes more than the silver on the previous. he nods in approval to himself. he knew he had excellent taste in accessories and what would look good on makoto. he finally looks up, " there. "

when makoto said that he liked being manhandled — actually. this is what he meant / it falls into the category of it, but never did he think that shuuzou would take it upon himself to drag him off to the side to snatch his belt off in the middle of the store. makoto stares, stunned / he can also feel kazuya and tatsuya boring holes in the back of his head. answers. they need answers. answers that makoto doesn’t have — and shuuzou’s still not said a word as he begins threading a new belt into loops.

makoto could have, if he was asked to, easily have done this himself, actually. and yet, he’s too stunned to say or do anything about it, allowing best friend to decorate him as he pleases.

“ is it just me, ” kazuya starts, voice low as he leans into tatsuya, “ or….? ” his head tilts, hidden brow raises as shuuzou finishes, looking back at his work like some artist appreciating his work. volume raises, inquisitive and slow, “ mako? ”

“ i— ” makoto blinks himself back into reality, head turning to look towards the other two. ah. “ i… have no clue, man. i just let him do whatever. ”

Kinda weird question- do you have any links to people talking about Mira from ZTD and ableist stereotypes? I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with her portrayal but kinda fumbled it and made some other ND people in chat uncomfortable. I searched for various keyword combinations but most of what I'm finding is like "and not to mention the ableism with Mira" and doesn't elaborate lol.

Not weird at all! And uh, you see, there's a recent post I made where what I complain about is the very fact I've never seen anyone post too in-depth about her at all, I'd love to see posts that do elaborate on that but I do not have any that I know of right now, sorry :/ hopefully someone else who sees this can point to one? Okay!! After some tag searches I have found exactly one post who kind of gets into it I like this take still would love to see. more than just one but hooray

And like though I complain I couldn't elaborate much on it myself I don't think, I believe most of the posts people make about Saito from aitsf would apply since it's a different uchikoshi take on the very same trope of "emotionless characters who cannot function without killing others" I guess he's a worse portrayal though since she's at least not stated to get reward brain chemicals when killing people and I guess her case also has the added layer of "femme fatale" to it? Which either makes it less bad or worse depending on where you approach it from As I said I am not doing a good job of being coherent on this oh and also there's her being "redeemed" and "cured" in the epilogue which in on itself is kinda not great to imply it just goes away like that and honestly I personally don't even buy it I think she'd just be like oh okay Akane over here has like a thousand reasons to hate me after all that oh and what's that she's the leader of a super wealthy underground organization who's organized one of these death traps before yeah no I'm better off going to prison I'll be fine there lmao bye

But I'll say as an autistic person with relatively low empathy I usually see a character who just doesn't understand other people's feelings and wants to feel them too and is just trying to survive despite getting no help and I just kinda go hm. yeah. shout-out to roxas kingdom hearts shout out to mary from ib shout out that's why I started hyperfixating on media art helps me with understanding others a great lot and Mira is just in a story too badly executed for me to care or even begin to wrap my head around tbh like god she's so fucking terribly used as a plot device in every conceivable way that it makes it difficult to see past it and into what she could possibly be if it weren't for the stereotype of equalling low empathy with no compassion what's with her killing off screen in ways that wildly deviate from her stated m.o? why or how was she even in cahoots with Zero why was that a thing? Honestly her dynamic with Sean could have been better fleshed out could have done something interesting about robot child and his aspd big sis but we just kind of don't get any attention brought to the subject of emotions and the authenticity there of except for the "reveal"...

YOU KNOW WHAT that's probably one huge reason it feels so fucked up actually! Like the whole fucking game is written so you could experience it in whatever order you want and therefore Mira being a serial killer at all is something that though not very well hidden it also cannot be a topic of discussion or explored Ever ever because the player may not have seen the fragment where that is revealed yet- problem being the menu design of that game sucks so bad and practically everyone gravitates towards the same few more interesting looking thumbnails first and then the rest is kinda just there, I mean that is part of the reason A Lot of characters feel half-baked I think but also I think it definitely does impact perception of her character specifically probably The Most and then there's just the general not being given nuance not being able to see the minutiae of how that disorder manifests in her character aside from the killings about how she acts aside from being overly flirty trying to lure in Eric but that affects pretty much all of the new cast we don't have last names and in her case we barely have any backstory at all like Saito is a harmful stereotype sure but we get So Much Context for him that people still love talking about him and delving into different aspects of his life since we have that very well telegraphed in the narrative meanwhile for Mira all we can do is fill in the blanks guesswork that only highlights the worst aspects of the surface level portrayal we got and ultimately that people just don't care enough to dissect because there isn't much there character wise once you remove it

So from what you told me and what I can tell, orv is about a guy who gets teleported to the novel he was reading to help fix the ending, the other guy and girl who he's with in the fanart are characters from the novel. And then at some point in the end he went back to his own original world. What about the other 2 characters though? Are they now just considered fictional characters from his world's perspective?

this is actually a very good guess considering the content ive reblogged recently

its less that he gets teleported to the novel and more that the novel becomes real. the other guy hes with is the protagonist of the novel and the girl is a writer who plagiarized the novel. explaining the whole worldline thing would probably take me awhile and include heavy spoilers so i dont know if ill get into all of that but there is some worldline shenanigans with him at the end of the novel. many of the novel characters who became real eventually learn of their origin and begin to move beyond their circumstances and are recognized as no longer 'characters' at some point in their arcs.

the whole novel toys around a lot with what it means for a book to become reality or for reality to be a book. some very fun mind games, and after 6000 pages everything takes on a whole new meaning

Hiii luci I just finished reading your analysis, and also watching Charles’ French interview where he said “the feeling was good” but the result just wasn’t there. It’s starting to make sense to me (I think!). The thing is, I’m trying soooo hard to not fall into this recency bias but I just don’t understand why Carlos seems to get better times out of the car this race (and last race). Is there specific things we can point to that will explain this? I’m worried because of how baffled charles seemed in the post qualifying interviews. (Also sorry I know I’m probably being annoying by being so worried/panicky all the time about this, with my limited knowledge 😖😖 thank you for being patient with me and always explaining this stuff 😖🙏) —🍊

Last race I already explained why Carlos was ahead. And remember last race Charles was faster.

This time I think it's mainly because he isn't as gentle on the tyres and usually that's a bad thing, however on a car where tyre warming is an issue and with the cooler temps as a factor that can actually help(being rougher on the tyres will get them warmer). He also wasn't that far off, 1/10th off in qualifying really isn't anything huge. So to me the Ferraris are basically the same as far as the car is concerned. So the difference between what they got out of the car really isn't that different. It's more a symptom of how close the entire upper half of the field is more than anything.

F1 has a lot of ups and downs, we have a long season so I am really not worried over the possibility of mid results for one race (especially this early in the season)

happy: i'm WAY more talkative than normal (if talkative was my normal lmao), i do a lil random dance, i laugh more genuinely

annoyed: my annoyance is a lil obvs, but i usually ignore you if i'm annoyed at you, or ignore/stay abnormally quiet during the annoying situation

makoto notices the other before he's seen, simply choosing to hide away instead of coming out, fearing that it'll be more of the same. trying to avoid this, makoto swims towards the rocks, lowering himself and dimming himself as to not be noticed / a failed effort as the other person begins swimming over. he speaks and makoto blinks at him, slowly pushing himself further behind rock before he's followed more and makoto comes out from the other side, staring at the new person, head tilted. new person -- creature -- shuuzou, he calls himself, touches his fin just as makoto tries shying away, only for makoto to shock him before he shifts to sit atop the rock. again, makoto tilts his head, watching shuuzou recollects himself, only tilting his head the opposite way in response.

It's been something she's been wanting to do forever, but ... reasons have held her back. More specifically, her inability to usually follow through on more positive emotions and the fact that despite Shuichi being one of the kinder and well, more introverted guys she's met ... he somehow had the frustrating ability to make her a flustered mess with no outlet except undeserved bites and standing a little too close to comfort. All of that bubbled up inside of her to culminate in the moment she finally got too frustrated (with him AND her own growing impatience) which led her to suddenly lunge forward as he began turning towards her and (clumsily) slam their lips together.

It was funny, really, whenever he thought about his and Iako's relationship. How rocky it started off at first, but then overtime, they became much closer, more softer towards each other... and Iako's unique way of showing affection to him. Yes, she often followed very close behind him, bit him, and sometimes makes a mess of his room.... but he learned that those were just some of the ways Iako let out her more flustered emotions. In a way, he found it very cute: her, very cute.

Even now, he found himself wishing she was here. And as if his wishes were answered, he heard her enter. "...!" Instantly, he rose out of his seat and placed his book down. "Iako...! What a nice surprise, I was just wondering where y..." He was saying this as he was turning towards her. In that flash of a second, her face was so close; closer than it's ever been. Before his mind could fully process that, and how closer their lips were... he felt hers, press against his.

"Mmph-?!" He felt his brain short-circuit. His body instantly froze. Iako was kissing him. Iako was kissing him.... the more that realization hit him, the deeper shade of red his face became... and the more he felt like his heart was going to burst. He didn't know how obvious it might have been to her... but hr knew for himself.. just how much he's always wanted to kiss her, too. But he was always so nervous about making the first move; the fear of if he did that, and she reacted negatively, and hate him for it... a fear he knew was very irrational with their undeniable feelings for each other, but his anxiety always had the unfortunate power to make him believe such things.

But now he saw that he was wrong. He couldn't be happier that he was... and once his heart calmed down, he found himself leaning into the kiss some more, to deepen it ever so slightly. Arms that dangled to his side, would slowly go to wrap around her waist. He didn't want this to end. For as long as possible, he wanted to enjoy this kiss... And even when it would eventually have to end, he didn't let go of her; rather, he still kept his face very close to hers. His face was still very much red, and his heart, while calmed a little, was still beating a mile a minute: but the gaze he looks at her with, was full of that longing, that yearning for her. That love for her that only continued to grow, immensely so at this very moment. "Ia...ko....I-I...."

A shaky exhale leaves him. He almost questioned himself if it would be okay to do this... but then realized, that'd be silly. And so, giving her a soft squeeze, he leans in to kiss her right back. He didn't want to let go of that feeling just yet: that feeling of how nice it felt to be kissed by her. Just for as long as possible... he wants to savor this moment with her. Even finding himself, breathing inside of their kiss:

"....love....you...."

i think about that bit in if you got the notion (i second that emotion) where bucky knows sam’s funnel cake order before SAM even knows his funnel cake order like every other day!!!! the first time i read it i think i had to put my phone down and just like shake my head and my arms until i could stop smiling ridiculously about it!!! it’s all about the intimacy of being known babey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mak!!! I am always a little extra fond of "if you got the notion" because that fic is the reason we became mutuals, so it delights me that that's where your answer comes from!

Also...I always joke that I wrote that fic in a fugue state, and I kind of feel like it might be true? It was really just supposed to be that first tiny scene of them watching Cass's choir performance, and then the whole concept just ran away with me and it kind of became a game of "how many ways can Bucky say 'I love you' without actually saying it?"

As we all now know in the post Bake Off AU era, I'm always a slut for food as a gesture of love, so it felt inevitable that while Sam was fussing over AJ and Cass and making sure they had eaten and were hydrated and looked after, Bucky would do the same for Sam without a second thought. Tbh the toughest part of that scene was deciding what type of funnel cake Sam would want.

Anyway. Skee ball is a love language but so is funnel cake and giving your nephews advice on how to talk to their crushes. I rest my case.
