surprise!! i made another sam & max AU, who woulda thunk it.

first and foremost, this is very inspired by this AU by PiperistheNewbl on twitter, PLEASE check this AU out!! it's so cute and I love it.

Basic idea is that everyone gets very lucky and there is just enough time to save Max before he gets exploded. Unfortunately, the traumatic effects on his body have consequences, and Max is forever changed by the experience. Mostly, though, everyone's just glad he's ok.

He still has to feed off of nightmares to survive, and he helps achieve this by summoning little spores! They are less so than he used to be able to make (only 2-8 at a time) but he's doing his best.

He CAN still use the psychic powers, and he glows purple when he does!

It's very exhausting for him, though, as is attempting to fly with those little wings. He also risks a mostly harmless but uncomfortably warm response if he uses his power too much.
