HELLO ORV COMMUNITY..... finally posting ORV art for the first time, and it’s for the @orvbigbang!!! very exciting experience-- I’ve never really collaborated like this before, but it was super fun!

this art is for Carolee’s spooky, silly, and heartwarming fic, "all the stories you never told me”. plot synopsis: “If you believe enough, you can touch a spirit. Ghosts don’t exist. Yoo Joonghyuk lives with facts. But ever since he moved to a cottage in a forest full of mysteries, he’s been living with Kim Dokja, who is definitely not alive and very much real. And now he wants Joonghyuk to save him.”

the first image features Yoo Joonghuk working in a lush garden, with a ghostly Kim Dokja floating behind him, yelling at YJH. YJH is depicted as thick-limbed, slightly tan man with short, dark, wavy hair. he’s wearing overalls, a black t-shirt, and leather work gloves, all covered in stray patches of dirt. he’s crouched on his knees, pulling a tomato plant by the roots from a small pot nearby. he’s sweaty under the bright sunlight, and clearly exasperated at KDJ, looking up towards the sky with an irritated expression. KDJ is depicted as a thin, wiry, light-skinned man with short, dark, straight hair. he’s wearing a simple white dress shirt, grey slacks, and Biyoo-themed slippers (fluffy white with a simple :3 cat expression and a yellow horn). his entire body is semi-translucent, showing the scenery behind him. he’s floating a few inches off the ground, gesturing angrily at YJH as his whole body bows exaggeratedly forward from his floating position. the garden is located behind what looks to be a small cottage made of rough-hewn stones, but only the corner of it is visible from out of frame. the garden is partitioned off into small rectangular sections with rough pieces of wood, while paths of irregular grey stones lead through the spaces between. all sorts of vegetables, herbs, and flowers fill these sections: squash, tomatoes, eggplants, onions, chives, broccoli, marigold, watermelon, etc. there’s even a wooden lattice holding up a cucumber plant, and a large pot with a small lemon tree. a thick forest of indistinct but tall trees surrounds the area, with small breaks in the treeline showing a clear blue sky.

the second image features Yoo Joonghyuk riding a spectral deer through a forest at night. the deer glows a pale blue, which is the only source of light across the nearly pitch-dark scene. the glow reflects off of nearby leaves, tree trunks, and patches of grass, creating a striking frame around the central focus of YJH and the deer. while most of the deer is semi-translucent, the head holds a solid skull with a full rack of antlers, visible through the deer’s spectral skin. YJH is wearing a tan coat and dark pants, hair flying in the wind. he’s leaning forward and clutching at the deer’s neck for support, face set in a determined expression.
