was spitballing with theotherseapancakes and cannibal-lesbian and it has turned into "manakete chrom and lissa" with other notable features such as

gangrel as farquaad (specifically trying to get married to make fun of aversa for getting no bitches)

owain as puss in boots (he's still a time traveler, everything just got solved by accident and now he has nothing to do)

grima as the fairy godmother

lucina as the gingerbread man (many questions to be had here)

lissa as donkey

nowi as dragon

obviously there's a lot of loose ends but it all just started when i said "grima would sing i need a hero from shrek 2".

i'm rotating the worldbuilding for this at the moment. chrom and lissa live in the swamp because Naga's Blood Shenanigans turned them into dragons so they disappeared from ylisse as to not cause trouble for Emmeryn, who would no doubt catch flack if her siblings were suddenly half dragon things. (Lissa is a fe6 divine dragon. She is a chocobo.) Chrom's main drive would then be not to get everyone out of his swamp, but to do so in order to stop his location (and continued existence) from getting leaked to emmeryn.

there are two options for owain, considering the nowi/lissa dynamic

he is a perfectly human boy (half human on his mom's side, half human on his mama's side)

he is also a manakete but appears human because there's been no perfect dramatic moment to whip out the dragonstone yet

it's also very important to me that chrom has feathers in this. he does.

Since the interface for image posting is better than a decade ago and I can use the Robin Customizer website to make images better than what I can take with the camera (even if I have a phone now), I figured it's a good time to just create a new masterpost for all Avatars. Links back will be updated if ever I get the itch for a new run.

Names other than direct references come from Fantasy Name Generators and the Dragon Name Generator. You can also click on an image to see their name in the description.

The first is Teefa, named after my Head Muse.  She’s married to Lon’qu because I have a big obsession with Swordsmasters.

The girl with blue hair is Lufia, named for the heroine of the first game in the series of the same name.  She’s married to Chrom and anyone who knows said series would get the joke behind both her name, looks and marriage immediately.

The green-haired shota is Miath, my first male Avatar.  He’s a shota obviously because he married Nowi.  Wanted to have two overpowered Manakete daughters of destruction without feeling guilty about marrying 1000 year old legal jail bait.

Lennalt is the second of the male Avatars.  He eventually got married to Panne, though a bit late because I am the moron who didn’t plan an Avatar/Sumia file in the ones where Chrom marries another girl, and am too lazy to shuffle pairings.  And was NOT going to be trying a shuffle on a file where Chrom is marrying Olivia…

This here is Rthyin, unfortunate recipient of a crazy name.  And married to Tharja because I am evil and have Trainwreck Syndrome.  But in reality, I just ran a Four Sorcerer run and left it at that!

Next up is me returning to parody world with Rutee.  Yes, I married her to Donnel since she’s named after a character who does marry a farmboy and has a hyperactive son.  And ran her as a Trickster since Rutee was a healer/thief.

Talath was decided completely by a Randomizer.  I Randomized her gender, appearance, and even who she and everyone else married!  After getting rid of duplicates I’d already done, I had the file she’s in.  Due to this stuff, she’s actually a Sage and is married to Virion of all freaking people!  He’s…actually pulled his weight for once, probably to impress his very particular wife (it is Virion after all!)

My camera did NOT like trying to snap a photo of Saphira, so I can finally share a good image of her.  She’s married to Stahl, and is FINALLY after so long back to my standard class usage of Dark Flier.  Hey!  I have a full family of riders this file…

Next is Maylanth (May for short). The first Reset Run when I just marry all the opposite gender children and Spot Pass units. Her ultimate husband at the end was Gaius, although that was at the very end of the game.

Danny was also a reset run, this time with a male Avatar. He ended up marrying Emmeryn and I went really screwed up with this by having Morgan marry Yarne (considering their Supports...). Other fun fact...his full name is Daenerys because when I got a bunch of Avatar names from the Dragon Name Generator GoT wasn't yet around and I'd never heard of "A Song of Ice and Fire" and didn't realize this related to a female character...

Beroan's run came about since I didn't do Priam's Supports since I didn't want to do his battle with a sub-optimal lesser party or grind the kids on a second file. Since the servers are switching off, I have to do this beforehand and chose a new file over just grinding Danny's 2nd gen. Marries Cordelia and gives his fetching purple hair to Severa.

Nveryll was my curious test to see if the SpotPass data I'd downloaded could still be loaded once the servers went down despite my earlier desperation. She marries Henry and I can only guess, since Henry's endings all talk about him being a surprisingly good father, both of them dote on Morgan endlessly.

Engage Drip Marketing: Framme

Well, looks like there’s no telling when these characters are gonna drop. Seems odd, but oh well. 

Today we get Framme, finishing up the starting Dragon Guardians. We’ve seen quite a bit of her already, so there isn’t too much information. Still worth checking out though.

In her intro tweet…

Framme is a 33rd generation "Dragon Guardian", protecting the Divine Dragon in the Holy Land of Lythos. She is Clan's younger twin sister, and is more confident and energetic than him.

Then the cutscene tweet…

Framme's self-introduction. Although she's a Dragon Guardian, it seems that her admiration for Alear is more like the idolization from a fan than loyalty.

"I'm also a 33rd generation Dragon Guardian, Framme! I'm Clan's twin younger sister.

I've been waiting super long for you to wake up!"

She says "anata-sama"(あなた様) which is super respectful. Like Your Holiness or something if localizing.

In terms of first impressions, I was pretty indifferent at first. But now she’s reminding me of Mae from Echoes a bit, and she was one of my favorite characters. Still, not a fan of the whole “Alear fangirl” thing. I get that it makes sense in lore, but avatar worship always leaves a sour taste in my mouth. As such, she could very easily go the way of Edelgard for me. Hopefully she’ll have fun supports with other characters, though.

Other people noticed this earlier, but she and Clan seem to be the Cain and Abel of this game, at least in terms of colors. Personality wise, they remind me of this duo archetype in the older games; the young, mild mannered, and male mage, and his more upbeat, outgoing, female counterpart. Think Boey and Mae, or Azelle and Tailtiu. This time, though, they have a sibling dynamic, which is a fun way to shake up the formula.

I’m also fairly sure Framme will get an emblem ring too, though it is hard to say. If I had to guess, it’d be either Lyn or Ike. Framme uses asian based martial arts, and of the fe lords Lyn has the most asian influences in both design and fighting style (though Corrin also fits this criteria, I’m positive she’ll bond with the manakete of this game instead). Ike, on the other hand… to be honest, I have a hard time seeing who else of the major characters he could bond with. And fist fighting and using an ax kind of go together, a bit… Again, mainly having a hard time thinking who else he could go with. And Clan does bond with Micaiah, so there's also that.

Now it’s time for our crit clip…

Framme's starting class is Monk. A war monk that heals allies with staves. They also are adept at self-defense from Qigong training.

It should be noted that Framme is just a monk, not a war monk. None of the kanji between either word are the same, and there are specific terms for various warrior monks in Japanese, like Yamabushi. This means monk is probably a base class, with something like war monk or grandmaster acting as its promotion. Though, that does make me curious if we’ll get a more combat based fist classes, like brawler.

Edit: So, I didn’t catch this at first, but Framme’s class is specifically called Monk/ Qigong. Qigong is a form of martial arts which focuses on using “qi”, which is a type of life energy in certain spiritual beliefs. It certainly makes me curious. Earlier, I assumed states like Dragon, Cavalry, and Mystic detailed stuff like weakness and how terrain affects movement. Qigong is interesting. Will there be special anti qigong weapons, will monks and brawlers have an easier time moving through certain tiles? Or are these things terms for certain class families? Either way, I find myself eagerly waiting for the inevitable Famitsu article that clarifies how classes will be handled.

As for the clip, there's a surprising amount to chew on. We actually see a bit more menuing from Framme. From this, we can see that staves still have durability, while weapons don’t. She has two scrolls,  training and iron body arts respectively. A good deal of stats when selecting a weapon are shown as well. Before that, though, we have something really meaty, an option called “Chain Guard”.

What is chain guarding? Honestly I can’t say, but none of the other characters are shown to do it. Perhaps it’s a unique ability among martial arts classes. Seems like the kind of thing a famitsu article will cover though.

We also learn that fists have a weapon advantage over bows. While some have proposed a weapon triangle of Bows < Fists < Tomes < Bows, I think something else is going on. Both bows and tomes are gray, while fists are yellow. As such, I think it’s more likely fists beat bows and tomes, acting as an anti range weapon. Another thing of note is that she doesn’t double the archer. This can be explained by the weapon being a training scroll, which specifically doesn’t allow follow up attacks. Sadly, it seems like Framme isn’t a very combat focused unit, though, considering she couldn’t even kill her foe with a crit. Hopefully this is just the result of the training weapons being so weak, or poor Framme may find herself trapped in the heal bot mines.

Now when it comes to the map, there are some spicy things I took notice of. First, both Alfred and Celine are able to use their engage forms in this chapter, making me wonder if the concept is introduced here, or earlier. When Framme attacks, we also get to see a look at one of the walls, with large windows. They’re probably not important, but it's still a pretty sight. What really caught my eye, though, was a good chunk of empty space on the maps left side, with a stairway nearby. Seems like the kind of spot either new recruits or enemy reinforcements would enter.

So, to wrap things up, we have all the starting dragon guardians now. While the avatar worship isn’t great, they seem like a solid starting party. As for what comes next… I’d say Alfred and the crew we see in the windmill chapter are a safe bet. It’ll be interesting to get looks at characters outside of these heavily shown three, that's for sure. As for when we’ll see them… I have no fucking clue. Maybe we’re alternating between one and two characters a week, but at this point, only the social media managers know.

[ Garden ] - Outside of the dance hall, explore the miniature gardens the Elementals created for you, populated with all sorts of strange (and carnivorous) plants you’ve never seen before

These "elementals" could reasonably be described as young, bored gods, excited to play with their charges like a fledgling does their dolls. They at least seem to have good intentions, but they do not quite respect or recognize the monastery residents' autonomy, not enough to free them upon request, at least.

Leanne figures the best way to get through this is to play their game. They mean well, anyhow, and she doubts they will let harm come during this charmed, strange edition of the Ethereal Ball. And maybe, just maybe, she can speak with them, communicate, get it through to them that their relationship is something that can be two-sided. This is much less unsettling than the dreamscape, the malevolent energy that still rises in her nightmares. She can work with this.

Not everyone is taking this as well as Leanne, though, and she knows it. As she walks through the garden, taking in some fresh air and communing with these strange plants, she sees a figure on their lonesome. They don't seem outright distressed, per se, but they don't seem to be having a great time, either.

"Hello!" As Leanne nears, she realizes this is another dragon laguz; or manakete, or whatever word they use, from her homeland. Her long black hair obscures much of her face, and her fanciful outfit shimmers with the magic of the sparrows. She seems almost numb, a default guardedness further obscuring Leanne's ability to gauge her situation. "How is the night treating you? I am Leanne, of the Golden Deer. And the Water element, in the situation we are in now."

She extends her hand, the symbol upon it clearly visible. It's almost like a brand, thinks a small part of the back of her mind. Will it go away, when they're freed? There's only one way to find out.

no matter the time or place, gardens provide a much-needed refuge. such had been the case since they had still bloomed in the old world, since she and the divine dragon used to walk among them on the somniel, chasing transient moments of peace. this was before the last of them had withered to decay, taking their medley of smells and vibrant colors with them into the fold of degradation that set on the twilight of that world.

these of course are not those gardens of falling wisteria, elegantly shading the divine dragons' court in transient lavender. these too are fragrant, and enchant still, but do so differently. whimsy seems to beckon from the playfully-arranged hedges, a meandering design meant as much to mislead as to entertain. the flower heads move on their own, unshepherded by either wind or tending hand, following the routes of ballgoers among them like curious pets — or watchful eyes. the feast of colors is a melange, not an arrangement, popping hues one after the other swirling into intoxication. she understands now how insects will drown in the nectar that nourishes them.

it is while watching this very thing happen — the ruby-feathered stalks of a fork-leaved sundew folding in unhurried, escherian spirals about its latest prey — that a gentle greeting just behind her draws her attention away from the threatening illusion of enchantment. even a fell dragon is not immune to such things here, it seems.

( or perhaps the threat itself is only that of her own nostalgia, as slow and carnivorous a thing as the sundew. )

upon turning, her notice scans first the elegant girl in vernal pink, a cream of lace and climbing stems. the sweetness of her approach brings an inherent softness to the corners of nel's mouth too, even as she senses that the one who approached her is not human like the majority here; something wooded and effervescent filters forth from her presence, as dappled sunlight does through trees. "greetings, leanne. you may call me nel." cool hand meets leanne's outstretched palm and clasps it firmly — a wash of magic like something blooming beneath the skin; a flower of water unfurls its petals about her neck — before falling away just as easily. "and i thank you for telling me your assignment for the evening, though i am simply pleased to make your acquaintaince, that aside. i have been marked with air, though you may have already sensed as much."

Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade Postgame / The Dragon's Gate Aka Roy and Lilina gets isekai'd

Hooh.

I've never shared anything about this fun idea that I brainstormed nearly a year ago, so guess it's time to talk about it. Idk if I should call this an au or not.

So, this is supposed to take place 2 years after the events of FE6, where both Roy and Lilina (now 17) travelled to Valor bc something happened over there, so when they go investigate what was causing it, they found Nils (idk if he's supposed to be grown up now or is like Sophia and hasn't even aged a bit), so they went after him until they reached to the Dragon's Gate. Once they entered through it, they end up in the Dragon Realm, and then a whole bunch of shit happens. This was supposed to make FE6's connection with FE7 somewhat closer, but I never expanded on it. Also, since it was made for fun, the chances of making FE6 Postgame a reality is very slim atm. Btw I'm pretending that the multiverse bs isn't real in the FE franchise.

Anyways, I'll just explain a bit about the Dragon Realm designs that I made for Roy and Lilina:

Roy: His outfit is heavily inspired by Elibean Ice Dragons, and a reference to Ninian being one of his possible mothers in FE7. A lot of fan depictions of Ninian!Roy either give him Manakete ears or just Ice Dragon traits, but I feel like depictions like that have been overdone, so I'm not a huge fan of those depictions in particular (Not that they're bad tho). Instead, his outfit has features that resemble traits of the Elibean Ice Dragons, notably the fins and sharp fangs.

Lilina: I think her outfit was designed first, but idk. So anyways, it's a very loose inspo of Elibean Fire Dragons, but aside from the flame-shaped scarf, it has almost no resemblance to those dragons, though this is because I didn't have that Dragon Realm idea in mind yet. Also, I gave her that gauntlet that covers her entire lower right arm bc I thought it looked cool. Her hair used to be cropped at the tips (Her fringe remained the same), but ever since I drew DG!Lilina today, I just draw her with her usual hair.

I do have more ideas set in stone, such as including Wolt in this whole thing and also give him an Elibean Dragon-inspired outfit like both Roy and Lilina, and add characters original to it. I don't have anything else to add, so I'll just show off stuff I've made related to it (and it's not even all of it.)

I'm wondering if Veyle and Alear are more like half-siblings because they have nearly no physical resemblances to each other. I can't imagine them having the same mother.

On the point of parentage... because Alear and Veyle hardly have any physical manakete traits like the signature ears (I'm not sure what other dragonic physical traits they'd have in an un-transformed state), does this bring up the possibility that their mothers are human? Sombron's genetics would likely pass down the pointed ears, but maybe that got overridden with their mother's genes that are more human-looking.

EDIT: and the teeth too. Sombron has way sharper teeth yet Alear doesn't share them, so maybe his mother's genes also overwrote those too.

welp i finally figured out how to add-on custom sprites w/o replacing any old ones in game so i whipped up a taguel sprite for severa...bc if this game won’t give the gay kids beast sprites then i sure will

...also despite all by best attempts i can’t get the hair transparency to work properly for the kids so I had to just manually color them in, shouldn’t be THAT big of a deal, since in order to even be manakete/taguel their other parent would have to be Nowi or Panne, right? anyways, inigo and lucina bunnies are next since im on a roll
