Ah, little Jonny everyone’s beloved; I’m going to be a bit self indulgent and sorry for it being so long but-

Jonny has a hate love relationship with water, he LOVES baths, swimming, and sprinklers, but the second there’s water dripping down his face or in his eyes he’s a goner; especially when he is very small

Steve was sitting on the deck of the pool while Nancy and Robin watched a small Jonny, Max, and Eddie in the pool, and Eddie bets him to go underwater for a second when they weren’t looking and Jonny reluctantly agrees, not wanting to possibly get in trouble even though Max and Robin are on the other side playing mermaids

“If you do it, I’ll give you one of my coloring books!”

“I dunno..”

“And a green glitter crayon.”

“okay, i gues ill do it..”

Jonny goes under for a second when they weren’t paying attention, but everyone’s attention is on him when poor baby starts balling his eyes out because there was water all over his face and in his eyes :(

Micheal Phelps was put to shame for how fast Nancy and Robin ran to get him, Eddie joins a very worried Max on the other side of the pool as Nancy hands a very much still crying Jonny to Steve

As soon as Steve gets Jonny in his arms and gets the water off his face with his Thumper Rabbit towel poor Jonny starts apologizing like he poured all of Steve’s hair gel out.

“Why are you apologizing hun?”

Nancy asked as she came up behind them, having crawled out the pool after she made sure Eddie and Max were okay

Poor baby jonny still crying up a storm and much younger than when they got in not being able to give her a clear answer and just wraps his arms around a concerned Steve

Steve brings Jonny inside while Robin and Nancy stay out to play with the other two, after a good thirty minutes of rocking, a change of clothes, a small coloring page, and cuddling, the now exhausted Jonny is down for a nap while a vhs of the real ghostbusters plays in the background

After everything and Jonny wakes up, Eddie is an apologizing mess while a slightly angry Max hugs Jonny, Eddie confessed to betting Jonny to do it and he felt really bad because he didn’t know it would throwing him into a meltdown :((

But all is well, Jonny gets 2 coloring books and the pack of glitter crayons from Eddie which was definitely not influenced by max to say sorry (ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)

there is NOTHING wrong with asks being long & self indulgent, my friend (*^o^)人(^o^*) i do adore long, self indulgent asks, don't worry <3

but oh goodness, poor jonny indeed :(( eddie feels absolutely horrible bc like, yeah he knew about jonny's aversion to water in his face, he just thought he didn't like it thrown in his face by surprise; he didn't know he absolutely hated it on his face as a whole :(( eddie legit had no idea AT ALL

like the entire thing is so exhausting for the lot of them: eddie feels guilty as hell, robin, max, & nancy are worried as ever, jonny is bawling his eyes out, & steve is trying not to do anything too quickly or too slowly to set him off more ,, part of those 30 minutes of soothing is just steve bouncing & swaying jonny on his hip, petting his hair & rubbing his back as he walks around the house. jonny's hair is pushed back to avoid having anything touch his face bc it's sensitive rn: "shh, icky water is all gone now, jonny; it's okay, it's okay, baby, deep breaths, deeeep breaths."

i feel like after this incident, max WILL NOT let eddie be in a room with jonny alone for a while. she finds out eddie is in the same room with him & she's RACING to sit between them, watching eddie closely to make sure he doesn't pull anything sneaky on her little buddy & sitting extra close to jonny >:~( like yeah, he apologized, and YEAH, he got him 2 new coloring books and glitter crayons, but she just needs to make sure he doesn't try anything tricky ..... but here's the thing: after the incident, eddie wants to spend a lot of time w him bc he feels bad about the whole thing!! so it's a back n forth thing between eddie & max while jonny sits in the middle like 😶 "jus wanna color.." like he got his new coloring books and his glitter crayons, he's pretty much good now AKSJAKS

"maaaaax, m not gonna do nothin, promise!!"

"mhhhm..."

"maaaaaax!!!"

& there jonny is between both of them, coloring with his new crayons in his new coloring book, making sure to show both of them as a way to say "i forgive you" to eddie & "i'm okay now" to max (❁´◡`❁)ෆ
