FINALLY finished this piece after about a month of fighting between work and school and a shoulder injury. Based off of a german poster for pulp fiction. Yet another movie poster art to add to the pile.

lots of people responding to that mechs post about ship of theseus. you have fallen into my trap. i have an extensive spreadsheet tracking lineups. let’s talk about blaseball teams and the ship of theseus
for purposes of this post we are defining “ship of theseus” as “comparing a team’s roster at any given moment to their s1 roster, regardless of whether or not the players are alternates.” there are three types of theseus: lineup, rotation, and full roster regardless of position. (so for example, if a pitcher becomes a batter in reverb, that counts towards the rotation being theseus-ed, but not the roster, because the roster is just who’s in active play)
first team to theseus their batting lineup: sunbeams in s17, once iggy delacruz got feedbacked to the worms. just a handful of games later, the fridays also theseus-ed their lineup when christian combs was feedbacked to the mechanics. the sunbeams later un-theseus-ed by taking nagomi nava out of their shadows, so the fridays are currently the only team with a full theseus lineup.
first team to theseus their pitching rotation: is actually a tie! in the season 14 elections, the spies traded away jordan hildebert, and the tacos foreshadowed sexton wheerer. there are currently five teams with theseus rotations: spies, tacos, flowers, mechanics, and lovers.
(the lovers are actually an interesting case because afaik they are the first team to ever re-theseus their rotation. they hit full theseus in s15 when parker meng got traded. in s16 milo brown was moved back into the rotation, which un-theseus-ed them, but in s17 elections they moved him to the shadows, and completed the theseus once more.)
team closest to a full theseus: as of right now no teams have achieved the full theseus, but the closest are the fridays, who are down to their last 2 original players: jacob winner and stevenson heat. magic, pies, and tacos are close behind, with only three of their original players left.
team furthest from a full theseus: currently the georgias have 9 original players, but given that they’re an expansion team, that’s to be expected. in my heart the true answer is the firefighters, who still have 7/14 of their original players.
bonus facts: at this point every single team has experienced at least one change to their batting lineup and at least one change to their pitching rotation. the team that went the longest without a lineup change - and in fact the team that went the longest without any roster change, not counting expansion teams - was the wild wings, who made it all the way to the s7 postseason without losing a batter. the team that went longest without a rotation change was the sunbeams, who didn’t have a pitching change until the s13 elections.
