So they took out the car radio for the box thing,
Trans am with radio:
Trans am with box thing:
Which I didn't realize before painting the dash,
So now I gotta cut the radio out but I'm nervous about it.

You know you're famous when not only the car you drive for work is sold as a model, but also your privately owned car...

Well, I did buy a door hanging shelf thing to put on my closet to hold my few Rainbow High dolls....
However, I was intending on using the bottom shelf to put my junior dolls, but they're, annoyingly, only just too tall to fit there.
But! The shelf is perfect for my few bigger diecast cars! And I'll still be using the top shelf to display a few of my Rainbow High dolls. So far, only Emi Vanda and Victoria Whitman are up there, but once I get a couple more, they'll be joining these two (hoping to get Olivia Woods and Jade Hunter, and maybe Priscilla at some point. Unfortunately these dolls are expensive in NZ....). Just wish the juniors actually fit on the bottom shelf.... But my juniors will be remaining with my Bratz dolls now.

I got my trans am model from my old room!!!
I haven't gotten super far with it yet, mostly because I'm brush painting with acrylic instead of using the expensive and fume heavy model paint, so the painting process takes a lot longer.
I water down the acrylic so that it goes on thin enough that it doesn't clump or show brush strokes, and I apply it with a very soft brush. You have to wait for each layer to dry and it takes MULTIPLE layers to get full even coverage. The painting process takes hours to finish just one piece, but it's actually kinda meditative so I enjoy it.
This is what I've painted and assembled so far,
And that's just the base colors. I intend to add more detail and weathering so it looks like it's been driving around the desert like the real trans am.
My current hurdle is that I need to get some "totally awesome" to strip the chrome off of the chromed pieces, because it doesn't look good. It's too "toy" looking.
Honestly idk why they even pre-chrome pieces in modeling kits when most people strip it off anyway.
I also need to find a way to redo the center console/gear shift because the one on the model is incorrect, and make or acquire the right rims, because for SOME reason this model doesn't have the factory original rims, and figure out how to make or get the bucket seats that the real trans am has.
