this is more abt the world than rlly the biology but since mario seems to be pretty human, is there anything particularly notable about the way he interacts or communicates with the mushroom kingdom? or is it more notable that it might not change much

Ohh I was so excited to answer this.

Peach and Mario communicate primarily with tactile sign language. Peach uses only two of her manipulator limbs for this, as to not alienate Mario. There's added nuances from each others voices, but most of the information is communicated via touch.

The language being tactile is important because Peach's compound eyes aren't great at focusing, and her hearing is imprecise. Her world is blurry and muffled audiovisually, but her sense of touch (and chemoreception) is sharp. She experiences the world in a very different way, but touch is one of the things she and Mario share.

She prefers to "hear" Mario's laugh by gently pressing a limb to his throat. She's also sweeping him with her pheromone receptors here, it's equivalent to studying someone's face to commit it to memory.

Before developing tactile sign language, though, Mario attempted to communicate with Peach in a way more familiar to her. Peach sends chemical signals to her subjects via a mycelium network and can process a lot more information this way. Finding the communication gap frustrating, Mario connected the mushroom kingdom's mycelium network to himself.

although the mycelium might be connected to the benevolent beings he lives among and calls his friends, it has no moral compass. It will begin to disassemble you regardless of your intentions.

This made him extremely sick. It was a lot more alarming for Peach, though, being sent signals every second of her friend's body being rotted inside out. Needless to say, this is not how they communicate anymore.

i DO absolutely like the idea that there was. an experimental phase in heaven with a lot of monstrous creations, which i think v1 and v2 would LOVE to hear all about!!! uriel would show them all of these illuminated illustrations of them, as he catalogued all of god's creations, and michael describes them as he could, including how they were likely eventually destroyed as they didn't suit god's "perfect" design. the angels by and large agreed it was for the best, but lucifer never really did - as god's love made incarnate, he became attached to each and believed they all had value in their life. v1 and v2 likewise seem to not be so put off by them, with v2 thinking it sounded like god was a bit reckless with his creating (sparking a good debate with michael) and gabriel commenting that v1 has made. way worse things in spore

Favourite wine grapes?

Okay, this isn’t a grape, but Châteauneuf-du-Pape is 100% my fave wine (it’s an appellation & there are bunch of diff allowed grapes there (tho the top 3 is Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre))

But to actually answer the question lol. Alongside with those ^^ three, I’ve also been into Nebbiolo. Used to drink Tempranillo a fair bit some time ago, but idk, haven’t in a while.

I’ve been going a bit more by region/winemaker than by the grape tbh. Bc like Pinot Noir from France & Pinot Noir from California are very different bc the climate affects hugely.

Also been going to wine tastings quite a lot with my parents (& we have made our own lol) and there’s so much variety in taste even if everything is the exact same grapes but if it’s by the same winemaker, there’s sort of distinct taste even if it’s different grapes & years. Like I think that’s the main thing I’ve learned; if u find a wine u love, check out who made it, not (only) which grapes it was made from

thinking of your mold era

This exact thing has happened to me.

Idk if it’s because I grew up in Hungary or everyone does this but if theres fruit or vegetables that have bad spots my dad just cut the part out and we ate it.

Moldy bread? Just cut the mold part off??

But I got to a point in my life where I just didn’t see the mold anymore, I’d eat spotty bread. I’d just become unaware of the mold the more I ate it.

It didn’t even taste bad, had a bit like an old bookshop smell.

I did get sick from it, developed some severe acid reflux and chronic stomach pain but you cannot kill me in a way that matters.

Thanks to your lovely blog I tried out Bg1 for the first time with the bg1npc mod and I finally get it. Xan's romance is hard to work for but it's so adorable and tender. And it's so much better than whatever bg3 has going on (it's too... lewd). In fact bg3 is so bad with their romance stuff I discovered that I'm asexual after all bc I got so uncomfortable;;
