Giant Robot: Asian Pop Culture and Beyond #artbound ep is now available to watch online from @kcet (link in bio)! @giantrobot was the first art magazine that I ever read when I left HI for art school, the first magazine I ever got a subscription for on my own, and the first original art piece I ever bought was from their gallery online (by @dethpsun)! It was so reassuring & inspiring as a student to see artists who looked like me making work I loved with similar influences as my own (especially when I was surrounded by what felt like a very “traditional” & “Western”-minded environment). I didn’t know at the time that my own art career would turn out to have such a focus in self-publishing and printed media, as well. A few HI artists got asked to make a print of Big Boss Robot to promote the documentary for HI folx, so this is my version: Beach Bum Big Boss Musubi! 🤙🌈☀️🌊 I feel so incredibly lucky to share work alongside such amazing artists! Thank you for inviting me to join, @umitoyshawaii! * * * #giantrobot #asianamericanartist #asianpopcultureandbeyond #hawaiiartist #musubi #kelschoo #kookookchoo https://www.instagram.com/p/CkP6dwyu8Po/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

ACNE STUDIOS
The brand started off as a subset of a creative collective called Acne, being an acronym for Ambition to Create Novel Expression. The objective of the brand was to explore multiple forms of contemporary art, whether it be photography, film, music, art, or illustration. Acne Studios was established in 1996, in a time when Sweden lacked any distinct fashion identity. Their first release in 1997 resonated directly with the ideals of the brand, which was functionality on contemporary art. This consisted of a 100 pairs of raw denim jeans with red stitching. The jeans were almost an instant success and with this, Acne Studios manifested a requisition for denim. However, this soon became a discomfort as it limited the expectations of the brand and made it harder to communicate with its fanbase that the ambitions of Acne Studios expanded way beyond just denim.
Acne Studios is influenced by many art forms such as literature, film, art, photography, and design. Acne Studios represented the already existing ideologies of Acne the collective itself. A major influence to the creator, Johnny Johansson, was Andy Warhol and his studios. Johnny maintains a purist philosophy on fashion. He believes that honesty should be a driving force when creating garments, that the garments one wears should feel true to one’s identity, ideology, and beliefs. Many in fashion tries too hard to be extravagant, but to Johnny, the personal everyday life of a person is more honest and interesting. When a collaboration lacks honesty, it’s perceived as dry and stiff. Mechanic, soulless. Only through honest collaborations you are able to extract the best from both parties.
Acne expanded to producing bags in 2015, leading to another successful collaboration with Mulberry. The collaboration was based on a collection that featured iconic bags from each level: the Bayswater from Mulberry and Acne Studios Musubi, with moderate alterations. Acne’s contemporary background has been a catalyst for certain projects such as the publishing of Acne Paper, a biannual magazine that features contemporary artists. The Paper acted as Acne’s sole form of advertising for almost a decade but was discontinued 2014. However, Acne Paper has now been introcuded again into a new form. Acne has also produced books, with the first one being Snowdon Blue, in collaboration with photographer Lord Snowdon. Surrounding this principle was Johnny’s belief of not engaging in celebrity endorsements, in contrary to how most brands choose to advertise today. Even if he is fond of a certain celebrity, it doesn’t mean they have to become an ambassador or representative for the brand. This results in there being an organic fascination and involvement from the celebrity towards fashion. More authentic, which is in line with the brand’s philosophy. He takes pride in never dressing celebrities and believes that his customers are attracted to the fact that his garments are honestly constructed, isolated from celebrity involvement or external opinions. Acne Studios certainly lives within its own world of contemporary art replicated in everyday life and has created a large part of the Swedish fashion identity we know today.

inspired by @iaintgotcontrol‘s throwback surveys :)
may 2020 vs jan 2022
Who was the last person you had an intelligent debate with?: 2020: I don’t really have debates with anyone other than Gab or Angela. I’ll have deep discussions with my other friends, but they never turn into a debate. 2022: I dunno, maybe Hans? He likes throwing out difficult questions every now and then just to challenge us in the group, but I can’t remember what is last question had been or when that was.
Who was the last person who cooked something for you?: 2020: My dad. Technically he just reheated stuff tonight, but he was still also the one who cooked for us this morning for breakfast. 2022: I’d say my uncle since I ordered a tray of spam musubi bake from him and that’s all I’ve had since last night.
Who was the last person who you heard singing?: 2020: My mom. She does karaoke by herself one or two times a week for funsies and will sing songs from her day for an hour or so, and she did it tonight. 2022: Nobody at home has sung anything recently so I’m gonna go ahead and say BTS since I was listening to them earlier.
Who was the last person you kissed and it meant something?: 2020: Gabie, but it’s been a whilllllle. 2022: Oh, gross. Yeah, same answer.
Who was the last person you were upset with?: 2020: This girl that I’m classmates with for a layout class, Mikee. Horrible work ethic. So just for context, I currently have a grade of INC (Incomplete) for the layout class I took last semester because my prof wasn’t satisfied with our final outputs, which are a class magazine and a class newspaper; and when you have an INC, you typically have a year to fulfill the missing requirement/s (except in our case, we only have half a year because we have graduating students in the class, including me). Now that we’re inching closer to graduation and the college is supposed to release the official list of graduating students soon, I have to make sure ALL my grades are in. Mikee volunteered to be the one to contact our prof for submitting our work, and even though we’ve finished up and polished our revised outputs, she is taking FOREVER to email the prof for whatever fucking reason. I’m getting antsy by the hour and am desperate for a bit of urgency on her end because if my name doesn’t end up on the list of graduates I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to lash out on her. 2022: LOL I was MAD mad, wow. I don’t even remember this happening anymore, but that’s probably for the better...anyway, for anyone curious I did end up passing the class but I can’t for the life of me remember what the fuck kind of grade I got. But to answer the question, I haven’t actually been upset at anyone in a while now. I definitely get agitated and frustrated these days but they’ve always been towards situations and not at people.
Who was the last person you danced with?: 2020: Angela, Gabie, and Hans. And some other ADMU dudes I’ve never hung out with other than at that party. 2022: My little cousin Maggie last Christmas when she surprised me and the family (but mostly me, heheh) with a dance number of Dynamite :( I appreciated it so much so I eventually got up and danced with her. She’s the sweetest girl – she even danced Permission to Dance and sang Spring Day in its full Korean glory because she knows how much I like BTS.
Who was the last person you felt awkward around?: 2020: My dad. He made pancakes from scratch earlier and I think his measurements weren’t 100% spot on, because they came out incredibly dense and bland. I was already cranky enough this morning – and I still hadn’t known he made them himself – so I scowled when I took my first few bites because I thought it tasted off and even asked if it was some kind of vegetarian pancake. Once he said he made it from scratch, I felt awkward, shut up, and wolfed my plate down to show him that I enjoyed it and to make up for my horrid behavior just seconds before. 2022: OH MAN hahaha I remember that! Those were definitely some strange pancakes but it got a lot easier to eat when I learned my dad made them himself, lol. Anyway, I last felt awkward around my grandma - she came over last night and there was a brief moment where we were alone in the living room, and for some reason our convo steered towards my work accomplishments and she was asking me if I still remember to “thank God” for my “blessings.” I trailed off with a fake “mhm” and she said she wasn’t convinced and essentially I found myself under a mini-sermon lmao. I love her to death but I just skipped out on the rest of the conversation to play with Cooper.
Who was the last person who borrowed something from you?: 2020: My mom borrowed my car (which is technically my parents’ anyway because they bought it lmao) to go to work today. 2022: Nina borrowed my foldable work desk around a week ago.
Who was the last person who showed you how to do something?: 2020: My dad. I wanted to get reacquainted with making stuff in the kitchen so he showed me how to cook hotdogs properly. I was already making them before, but after one time that one of our stove burners emitted a huge flame when I turned it on, I stopped making any food altogether for a while. 2022: Angela got me a binder for my photocards and she just quickly taught me how to set the binder up and how to use the sleeves and such.
Who was the last person you went shopping with?: 2020: My mom. 2022: Other than myself, it was with Bea and Kata when we stopped by Penshoppe to get the new line of BT21 apparel.
Who was the last person you had a crush on?: 2020: Song Joong Ki hahaaaaaaah. 2022: ^ Oh my goodness, still valid. But these days it’d have to be Taehyung.
Who was the last person who made you cry?: 2020: The amazing actor from Descendants of the Sun playing the troubled rookie doctor. I looked him up and apparently he’s also one of the lead vocalists of SHINee, so he must be talented as all hell. 2022: ^ DFHDKJFSDFH ONEW!!! Little did I know I would have a short and sweet SHINee phase come 2021 – Onew became my bias all thanks to DOTS. But anyway, no one has made me cry these days except for myself, really. It’s been a tough week at work.
Who was the last person you shared a bed with?: 2020: Kimi, 45 seconds before he jumped off. 2022: Hahaha. Same answer, except I have to carry Kimi down if he wants to be back on the floor because his joints aren’t what they used to be anymore. My precious baby.
Who was the last person you got drunk with?: 2020: Angela, Hans, Gabie, Aids…I don’t remember the others anymore but they were cool and funny people. Idk, we were a big group so yeah. 2022: Angela and Hans when we went to Marco Polo last November.
Who was the last person who touched your hair?: 2020: Just me. 2022: I don’t really let other people touch my hair, so...yeah, probably me still.
What was the last pair of shoes you wore?: 2020: A pair of Nikes to walk my dog. 2022: My white Puma sneakers when I went to a coffee shop earlier this month to work.
What was the last birthday party you attended?: 2020: My cousin’s, aunt’s, and grandma’s. Their birthdays all fall on the same week in December, so it’s tradition for us to go over to my aunt’s to celebrate. 2022: Angela’s last September. ^ They did hold that multi-birthday bash but I had already set up a museum day with Andi that weekend, so I wasn’t able to come.
What was the last thing you said to your mother?: 2020: Something about thesis. I was telling her that I included her and dad and my four grandparents in my acknowledgments. 2022: She came over to my room a few minutes ago to check if I still had excess spam musubi but noticed there was little left, but I told her she can still take a bite. So basically that whole conversation was just me saying, “Just take some” and her saying “It’s fine” over and over haha.
What was the last song you listened to?: 2020: I was listening to Beyoncé’s Homecoming a few hours ago but I’m too lazy to check what song was it I paused. 2022: Boy with Luv had been playing in the last BTS clip I watched.
What was the last thing you thought about before going to sleep last night?: 2020: I wasn’t thinking of anything, I was just focused on falling asleep. 2022: I was actually in the middle of watching something when I fell asleep, so I wasn’t “thinking” per se. I just passed out and woke up by the next morning.
What was the last fun thing you did with your family?: 2020: Video-calling other relatives. 2022: We had a mini-feast last night when my grandma came over - isaw, barbecue, hakaw, kwek-kwek. We also usually allot Friday for movie night, but my grandma opted for a Jesus movie so I went back to my room early.
What was the last thing you borrowed from someone?: 2020: My dad’s earphones…and I’ve kept them for the meantime too lol thanks dad. 2022: My sister’s scissors so I can cut open the packages I got last Thursday.
What was the last vegetable you ate?: 2020: String beans.  2022: Eggplant.
What was the last thing you bought online?: 2020: A Hydro Flask and several necklaces. 2022: The aforementioned spam musubi, if that counts. I ordered from my uncle through Messenger.
What was the last thing you had to drink?: 2020: I don’t *have* to drink it but I did make myself a cup of coffee tonight. 2022: I have coffee and water in the room with me now, so those.
What was the last reason you went to see a doctor?: 2020: Had to get my eye checked. Sucks that I couldn’t and can’t have a follow-up appointment especially since my left eye still acts up from time to time. 2022: Oh sheesh, I remember that. Still have no clue what caused my left eye to act up, but thank fuck it went away like two months after the pandemic started. My last trip to a doctor was to have my mysterious fever checked, which turned out to be a UTI.
What was the last non-food item you purchased?: 2020: Soju lmaaaaaooo. 2022: A handful of BTS albums.
What was the last type of yogurt you ate?: 2020: I hate yogurt. 2022: Yeah, still hate yogurt.
What was the last fast food place you ate at?: 2020: Jollibee. We didn’t eat inside though, we just got the food delivered to our home. I think the last fast food place I was actually inside of was McDonald’s. 2022: Genuinely have no clue; I never eat at fast food restaurants anymore. I do remember eating at Jollibee with Angela and Hans, but this had to have been at like the start of 2021. I don’t think I even liked BTS yet lmao.
What was the last thing that bothered you and kept you awake?: 2020: I haven’t been bothered by anything in a while. Caffeine is the only thing keeping me up these days. 2022: Work.
When was the last time you embarrassed yourself? 2020: I had sort of a Eureka moment earlier tonight when I suddenly recalled my paternal grandparents’ whole names. I had opted to use their nicknames in my acknowledgments and didn’t think anything of it, but then I remembered what their actual full first names were and then felt embarrassed within myself that I submitted a final draft with their nicknames. HAHAHA it’s a good things are less chill with the lockdown in place so I was able to explain and resubmit with the necessary revisions. 2022: Just minor work stuff and me being a clumsy manager because for the most part no one has taught me how to manuever such a role.
When was the last time you watched a movie with someone?: 2020: January-ish. I watched Hello Love Goodbye with Gabie. 2022: Ok I know I always say I haven’t seen any movies in a while, but I've recently remembered that I did watch snippets of 17 Again when I was in Zambales with Bea and Kata haha so I’ll go with that. Unsurprisingly though I wasn’t able to finish it and moved on with doing my own thing.
When was the last time you charged your phone?: 2020: A few hours ago. 2022: Last night.
When was the last time you were sick with a cold?: 2020: It’s been…a while. I rarely get sick with anything so I don’t get to keep track of whenever I do. 2022: I got a slight cold earlier this month which most definitely could’ve been Covid considering my mom and sister had it at the time, but the cold went away literally the day after.
When was the last time you spoke to a family member on the phone?: 2020: My birthday when my lola called. 2022: Christmas Eve when I was coordinating with my kuya regarding the food we were respectively buying for noche buena.
When was the last time it rained where you live?: 2020: A couple of days ago, I think. 2022: Random drizzles came in also a couple of days ago. Explained why it’s been humid all fucking week.
When was the last time you laid awake, unable to sleep?: 2020: This afternoon. I wanted to sleep the heat off, but it was just so uncomfortable I just ended up twisting and turning and sweating more. MAAAAAAN I can’t wait for June. 2022: Wednesday. My current favorite fanfic had gotten its final chapter update and even though I only saw it by midnight, I decided I was gonna push through with all its 44,000-word madness. I finished by 2:30 AM and it was SO good, so I probably spent another half hour tossing and turning and trying to process everything I had just read.
When was the last time you met someone new?: 2020: A week or so ago when I went on a following spree on this blog and started talking to a couple of them. Lol following spree in the survey community means following 3 or 4 blogs, but still. 2022: A few weeks ago when I met Liara as an applicant in our workplace. She’s since gotten hired and is currently working as an associate on my team.
When was the last time you filled up your car with petrol/gas?: 2020: Gotta be the first week of March as that was the last time I was able to drive a lot. 2022: Earlier this month when I had to go to the city to pick up something my aunt got for me.
When was the last time you ate popcorn?: 2020: Some months ago, I’m guessing? There was a brief time that my mom bought popcorn kernels to make bowls of popcorn for us, but we got tired of it pretty easily so there was no reason for her to keep buying more packs. 2022: No idea. I don’t like popcorn.
When was the last time you went to a school event? 2020: I went to the Lantern Parade last December, as is tradition for my school’s community. I was mostly alone because my friends had to leave early and Gabie was stuck in traffic all evening and didn’t arrive til like, 9:30 PM, which sounds sad for me lol but it was still a fun experience. 2022: Yeah, I think my answer is still the Lantern Parade considering that was the last big face-to-face thing that happened in school before the pandemic. But if we’re talking about any event, it would be my virtual graduation.
When was the last time you took the trash out?: 2020: My parents don’t give me that task. 2022: They still prefer to do it.
When was the last time you did anything to change your appearance?: 2020: Fucking March, a week before the lockdown. Okodlkjfffjsj don’t remind me I’m still pressed about it. No one got to see my short hair and bangs grrrrrrrr 2022: A couple of weeks ago when I had my nails painted purple.
When was the last time you cooked at home?: 2020: A week ago. I reconciled with the kitchen and cooked a couple of hotdogs hahaha. They’re frozen and literally a child could make them, but egh, I wanna have my moment too. 2022: LOL.
When was the last time you had a sleepover?: 2020: Honestly can’t remember. Start of the year maybe? 2022: Last November when I went out drinking with Angela and realized I wouldn’t be able to drve myself home so she offered her room for the night.
Where did you last go shopping for clothing?: 2020: Feliz. It’s my favorite place to find new clothes so yeah, you’ll always be hearing about Feliz. 2022: Uniqlo. Where did you last go on a date to?: 2020: A study date at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and dinner at Yabu afterwards. 2022: Like...a romantic date? Idek. But if we’re talking platonic, Andi and I went to the Ayala Museum last December.
Where was the last wedding you went to?: 2020: 2007, my uncle and aunt’s. I had plans to go to my cousin Joelle’s wedding in Texas this year, but I think they postponed it which highkey ended up working well for them because it wouldn’t have happened under current circumstances anyway. 2022: Yeah, still that 2007 wedding. No relative or close friend has gotten married since the pandemic started.
Where did you last park your car, other than home?: 2020: Gabie’s place. 2022: This grocery that my aunt asked me to go to since she got something for me from there. She was a little busy that day so she couldn’t do it herself.
Where did you last leave your keys?: 2020: On top of the dining room TV.  2022: We have a key hanger thing by the stairs.
Where did your last kiss take place? 2020: By Gabie’s front door, I think. 2022: By my car.
Where did you last go for a walk to?: 2020: In front of the house and just a little farther, with my dog. He’s getting older so he gets tired easily and can’t go on the same walks we used to have, but I still make sure he gets his exercise. 2022: Just around the village.
Where did you last take a vacation to?: 2020: We had a weekend trip to Tagaytay and Cavite but honestly it felt like a quick getaway more than anything else. The last trip that felt like a vacation was when we went to Bicol. 2022: Zambales with co-workers/friends.
Where did you last go to celebrate your own birthday?: 2020: I celebrated it at home. 2022: Yeah I mean we’re still in a pandemic so... home sounds about right.
Where was the last place you had dinner at?: 2020: Just at home, again. 2022: Besides at home, Angela’s place during our group’s Christmas party.
Where did you last go to exercise?: 2020: I don’t exercise. < Ha, samesies. 2022: I don’t exercise, but when I have have have HAVE to I’ll usually head to the rooftop so I can do it in silence and alone and no one can see me.
Where did you last take public transport to?: 2020: Jum and I were going to the Senate building for a journalism class. That was the first and last time I took legit public transport. 2022: Idk, maybe some jeep but I no longer remember the destination. I haven’t taken a jeep since 2019.
Where does the last person you hung out with live?: 2020: Upper part of the city. 2022: Somewhere in Metro Manila.
Where did you last visit for the first time?: 2020: Uhhhh I think it was the salon I went to to get my hair done. 2022: Landers, the supermarket I’ve kept mentioning on this survey haha.
Where did you last take a photo?: 2020: On the floor of the dining area, to take selfies with my dog. 2022: Like, including me? I guess last night. One of my co-workers had her last day at the company yesterday so our team got into a video call to say our goodbyes and we also took a selfie via Google Meets.

Page 25 The great war for the unity under heaven is about to start. The one who carries Hi no Moto’s future over his shoulders is, from the Uesugi bushidan, Uesugi Tatsuomi.
Page 26 & 27
Man: Oh, great Takami Musubi no kami!! Man: We present ourselves to you in high spirits, may we win this difficult war by the blood ties that bind us…
Naotora: He’s making a vow of victory in front of the bodies of his ancestors… Naotora: being proud of our family lineage is normal within bushi households, but… Uesugi is the only one who takes it this far…
Naoe: My lord. There are three outsiders to the Uesugi bushidan, they’ve infiltrated themselves within the corps… Uesugi: Kill them.
Page 28 Naotora’s thoughts: As unmerciful to outsiders as always… Naotora: Ah, those people are my subordinates! Uesugi: … And what about that? Natoroa: Moreover, they are the cousins of a distant relative of my older brother.  Naotora’s thoughts: Will he be as harsh as ever? Uesugi: if those subordinates are related by blood to you, i’ll leave them be… Naotora’s thoughts: I’m so glad consanguinity is so important to him… Naotora: Then?, Why did you send this to me? I’m not your subordinate, Tatsuomi…
Page 29 Uesugi: Of course you are not… Uesugi: However, I wonder if you could help me?
Naotora: “Must defeat the Awaji kishin”? Sounds challenging…
Page 30 Girl: I see… Uesugi’s seal is on that picture scroll? And thereupon, to investigate about Kojirou’s dad lineage, you want to meet lord Uesugi…
Page 31 Tsugumi: Musashi, who are these people? Musashi: Oh… They are from the Takeda bushidan, they saved our town some time ago…
Box: Sanada Aoshi. Takeda Bushidan, First squad, second blue sword.
Box: Yamamoto Shunrai Takeda Bushidan Green sword, special corps, vice commander.
Aoshi: We were removed from the captain’s escort, to babysit some brats of all things…! Shunrai: You worry way too much, Aoshi… Aoshi: Why? Why do i have to get along with this used-to-be miner, redhead brat? Whyyyarhg? Tsugumi’s thoughts: if they don’t thake him seriously, Musashi will snap… Musashi in Tsugumi’s thoughts: I’m not a brat, my name is Musashi!!
Page 32
Musashi: Thanks for covering for us before bro!
Tsugumi’s manuscript: I had never seen that look on him before!
Tsugumi: Huh? He’s being unusually humble… Tsugumi’s manuscript: Why?
Musashi: Because the Takeda Bushidan seems to be our intermediary in order to start contact with lord Uesugi… Manuscript: We gotta get along with them.. Manuscript: Big connections. Manuscript: Uesugi Tsugumi: He’s making himself closet o them and making them like him… Manuscript: To help Kojirou… Kojirou: Thank you, Musashi. Shunrai: AHAHA, Even if you use that obvious flattery, we won’t let you meet lord Tatsuomi! Musashi: W-WHY!?
Page 33 Shunrai: Because it’s dangerous! Bushidan are very severe towards outsiders! Actually, a while ago, just when people noticed you were outsiders to the Uesugi Alliance, everyone froze, remember? Musashi: Yeah... but maybe hey can tell me a couple of things… Manuscript: Like if they had anyone named Kanemaki Jisai… Musashi: Does the Uesugi family gains anything from that? Shunrai: Bushi don’t do anything that won’t benefit their “house”!
Kojirou: House?
Page 34 Shunrai: That’s right! The leader’s priority are those who have blood connections with them. Manuscript: Family
Shunrai: Now we give the name “bushi” to those people who can use a Kitetsu sword, but originally, on the Heian era, the word “buke” was about warriors from a household lineage.
Shunrai: Long ago, those houses battled each other… That’s why “ We believe in blood ties above anything” … is an idea that every bushidan seems to have in common.
Page 35 Musashi, Kojirou: Oh…
Musashi: Bushi battled each other when the Oni didn’t exist?... Shunrai Manuscript: Eat Kojirou: Now that you mention it, the picture scroll does mention something about bushidan competing with each other… Manuscript: That’s absurd… Musashi: Yeah.. Musashi: To believe in blood ties above anything… Musashi: I don’t understand very well…
Page 36 Tsugumi: I think i get it a little… My lord always told me things like not to stain the name of the family, and that i should cherish the honor of being part of them… Kojirou: I… … Jisai: Kojirou, you are the descendant of a proud household. Jisai: Don’t trow away your pride as a bushi. Kojirou: I’ll find out from now on… Musashi: Kojirou…
Page 37 Musashi: We’ll find a way to know about the old man somehow… Kojirou: Musashi… Musashi: With all those people out there on the harbor, it shouldn’t be so hard to infiltrate… Aoshi: Stop that! Those bushi are gathered to exterminate the Kishin of Awaji island… You will die if you infiltrate. Kojirou: Die? Musashi’s manuscript: It’s alright! Musashi: we’ve seen Kishin a couple of times! Aoshi: You kids don’t get it. Aoshi: Oh, great, let me take a look at this picture scroll…
Page 38 Aoshi: this looks like an Oni family tree. The size of their circle is proportional to their strenght.  The huge one at the center is the strongest, the “Black Kishin”! Kojirou: Woah! Musashi: Which one is Engokutengu? Aoshi: This one. Box: This. Musashi: What the… It’s so small. Musashi: Then, this Kishin of Awaji island is…?
Page 39 Aoshi: This one. Box: This. Box with arrow: Engokutengu. Kojirou, Musashi: What!? It’s so big… Completely in another level! Musashi: So, just by this you can tell it’s strong?
Box: Awaji island. Man: There’s no trace of the  original shape of the island… Man: Yeah… This is terrible.  Let’s report this to the lord!
Page 40, page 41
Page 42 Box: Emerald Kishin. Housenryuuya Matanoorochi.  ( battle dragon of eight heads) Man: Oh! Man: Oh…  Great god of ours we worship so dearly…! Man: I’m able to meet a high kishin like so close … As one of the Obsidian brotherhood, i swear i’ll be useful to you! Man: Please look how i break the Uesugi bushi from the inside… As i’m invading them.

I must tell you something
Muishiki no Iro Ameblog 2018-01-22 22:40:18
I'm SKE48 Team S Leader Kitagawa Ryouha, 19 years old, who loves ice cream very much.
Tumblr media
The 3rd Draft Conference was held yesterday. Team S got Kouzuma Honoka, and Ootani Yuuki. We get to negotiate for both of them.
Tumblr media
Both of them wish to be in Team S. I'm so happy.
They are only 13 years old. How will they grow from now on??? I'm TOTALLY looking forward to it😊💗
I got to participate the last draft conference too. But this time we tried a new system, we select the members based on the votes from the fans.
This was my first time watched the draft members performance live. I was struck by how serious they are, and saw them gave their best for it.
All the draft members want to be selected. I'm sure that's what in their mind but we can't do that. My heart aches for those members who were not selected.
But, humans will face setbacks for sure in their life. I'm sure one will get to learn something from it. And make use of it in the future. Even if one has a late start, I think the dream will come true as long as the person doesn't give up. That's why I hope they don't give up ~~ Somehow I just want to tell you all about this.

The Best Takeout Food for Picnics at Tompkins Square Park
Tumblr media
Illustration: Sisi Yu
On the Venn diagram of eating strategies during a pandemic, picnicking is where takeout meets outdoor dining, and if you snag the right socially distanced plot of turf on the right balmy afternoon, it’s better than both. Tompkins Square Park might not exactly be the Great Lawn, but it benefits by its proximity to some of the city’s funnest, funkiest kitchens, many of which have pivoted to picnic-friendly fare.
1. 403 E. 12th St., at First Ave.; 646-602-1300
With his new “picnic basket” for two (actually packed in a shopping bag), Marco Canora provides everything but the blanket: chickpea-flour pancakes with olive tapenade, sunflower-seed hummus, fava-bean salad, giardiniera, butter beans with pesto, and half a Tuscan fried chicken. Plus brownies for dessert.
Illustration: Sisi Yu
2. 171 First Ave., nr. 11th St.
Preorder on Caviar or just walk up to the makeshift sidewalk counter to procure David Chang’s iconic buns, seasonal vegetable sides, and a heap of spinach-and-chile-sauced chilled noodles fiendishly designed to cool you down and light you on fire simultaneously.
Illustration: Sisi Yu
3. 430 E. 9th St., nr. Ave. A
Pounce and click at the stroke of noon on Mondays, and you could be the proud owner of a preordered grab-bag lunch: hoagies on Wednesday and Thursday and veggie burgers on Friday, all paired with a side and a dessert brimming with Greenmarket bounty.
4. 80 St. Marks Pl., nr. First Ave.
Although this quirky takeout-window kitchen has expanded with online groceries and outside dinner service, it made its name with lovably esoteric sandwiches that now must be ordered online for time-slot pickup. The Smoking Fox — smoked pork rib, coleslaw and pickles, and calibratable hot sauce — is like a cookout on a roll.
Illustration: Sisi Yu
5. Noreetuh 128 First Ave., nr. St. Marks Pl.; 646-892-3050
As a testament to its picnic primacy, fried chicken can be found in parkside vicinity in the classic southern style, Tuscan spiced, and, at this Hawaiian-inspired spot, battered with mochiko flour and accompanied by Hawaiian-style macaroni salad and King’s Hawaiian rolls. Order a batch of Spicy Spam Musubi for an appetizer.
Illustration: Sisi Yu
6. Hanoi Soup Shop 119 St. Marks Pl., nr. Ave. A; 212-995-5010
Crunchy with raw vegetables and fragrant with herbs, Vietnamese summer rolls make perfect picnic fare. Get the combo — one pork sausage, one soy-garlic tofu — and supplement it with a brisket bánh mì and the tropical-fruit shake of the day.
Illustration: Sisi Yu
7. Empellón Al Pastor 132 St. Marks Pl., at Ave. A; 646-833-7039
The tacos are terrific, but the eminently portable corn dogs, made with the same masa the kitchen uses for its tortillas, are what you want for a picnic. Get some queso on the side for dipping.
Illustration: Sisi Yu
8. 414 E. 9th St., nr. First Ave.; 212-358-8800
It’s not every park that has a world-class sushi joint a half-block away that’s willing to pack up a 14-piece omakase to go.
Illustration: Sisi Yu
9. 101 St. Marks Pl., nr. First Ave.; 212-677-2226
Meze by the pint is great for a crowd: Pick any combination of hummus, cucumber yogurt, falafel tahini, labne, and tabbouleh, plus a five-pack of some of the puffiest pita in town. (Bring serving spoons, and no double-dipping — it goes without saying.)
Illustration: Sisi Yu
10. 507 E. 6th St., nr. Ave. A; 646-692-3867
The best dry-aged double cheeseburgers in town, plus Shin Ramyun chicken wings, smoky pickles, elote, and deviled eggs. If there’s a better Korean-American-inspired picnic spread in New York, we don’t know about it.
Illustration: Sisi Yu/Sunny Annies Deli
11. Sunny & Annie’s Deli 94 Ave. B, at 6th St.; 212-677-3131
The sheer number of crazy-genius combos at this 24/7 bodega can turn the most resolute sandwich aficionado into an indecisive wreck. For a spillproof picnic, though, you want the Special BLT wrap: a neatnik assemblage of sprouts, bacon, tomato, watercress, cheddar, and avocado as well designed as a Swiss watch.
Illustration: Sisi Yu
12. 94 Ave. C, nr. 6th St.; 212-228-2972
The best picnic food is fried chicken, and the best fried chicken is Bobwhite’s. A three-piece plate (one thigh, two drumsticks, and a biscuit) is a steal at $7.50, so load up on the sides.
