#my nitpicks are the buildup i mentioned earlier; the fact that ash is the one to defend biancas honor?? thats weird why not let her do that #ik she lost to elesa but itd be a good showdown to have her go at her dad #instead of ash who has no stakes in this at all and who’s loss also just feels canned in here ngl #and then the ‘’stakes’’ they try to give ash and fail. im sorry why is ash gonna listen to this guy telling him to go home on a bet #if i made that bet id go ‘’lol ok’’ if i lost #like as a kid i think thats what i focused on amd thats why i thought it was a comedy bit? like ‘’hyuck hyuck the controlling dad controls #him too hyuck hyuck’’ and ik its just a small episode conflict that doesnt matter at all #but its just. so contrived and dumb when it feels a lot more natural for bianca to battle her dad instead #ash doesnt need to be the center of this episode he doesnt need to have stakes. hes getting a gym battle in the next episode #echoed voice #pokeani lb
