Ulver - Kveldssanger

A huge deviation from their black metal albums, Ulver puts out a genuinely beautiful neofolk album. This thing is a combination of these beautiful acoustic guitar compositions and gorgeous singing performed by a choir of men singing full throated. There’s a few other instruments that come and go from pianos to violins. The overall feeling of the record is that of a medieval fantasy, a mixture of eerieness and beauty.

"Sweet and Strong" is the New Neo-Folk Single From Dublin-Based Singer/Songwriter Deirdre Murphy

Deirdre Murphy comes to music after a lifetime of making and studying performance in multiple genres, originating from her first passion in dance and the body. She plays guitar and ukulele and uses a loop station and DAW, and writes and performs spoken word vignettes integrating loop station and live music. She is known for the poetry and wordplay of her lyrics. 

Through her creative practice, Deirdre aspires to present the ideal of each individual’s right to the very highest level of human rights - while engaging in comical mishaps, awkward timing etc.  

In her new song, "Sweet and Strong," Deidre Murphy takes listeners on a captivating journey through the enchanting world of Neo-folk, indie, and alt fusion.
