#okay so I looked up something on Radclyffe Hall and Virginia Woolf and the site gave me this poem #it's part of the site's function to do that btw #talk about saying girl you've arrived #it's a self love/acceptance poem #for those who don't know Radclyffe Hall wrote the 1928 Lesbian Classic The Well of Loneliness #she got major shit for it from the English public #including censorship which lasted until almost a decade after her death #Virginia Woolf and the bloomsbury Circle attempted to defend her in the name of freedom of expression #also you know Woolf was bisexual and Hall was a lesbian so she was trying to defend her in that way #it was 1920s sapphic solidarity #I'm probably going to do my next paper on them and I have a few other ideas #so prepare to hear about both of them a lot in the coming few months #love after love #derek walcott #poem #do you believe in signs? #someone is saying hey girl for sure #what a nice poem <3 #it's also saying go for it #my tags for this probably make no sense oh well
