A/N: Guess who's back? Back again? Me! It's me. After a drought of writing, thought I'd hop back into it with more Ana, and "indulge" y'all in her personality. This is a drabble inspired by a theoretical "meet the team" video for Ana. I suggest you read this before any of my other works with Ana, and know that I'll put a very brief explanation of events in the replies. Also, sorry about the Read More, it's just part of the formatting.
Neighborhood #2 (Laika) to make up for the shortness. It's pretty thematic for Ana.
The Director sits across from Ana, a pen and paper in his hand, and a camera sitting by his feet. "So, Ana, since you're a new hire, the Administrator asked me to gather some information about you. I'm going to ask you some questions, and you're supposed to answer them, alright?"
"Jah!"
"Good. Now, first question, what is your name?"
Ana stares at the Director, tilting her head curiously. There's a quick moment of silence before she springs to life, "It's Ana! Ana Ivanova!"
The Director clears his throat, jotting the information down. He mutters something under his breath. "Now, how old are you?"
"Spry and sixteen!"
The Director thinks out loud and mumbles quietly, "That's younger than I thought..."
Ana huffs and gives him and offended look, "Actually, isn't there like a law that makes it illegal for kids to work? 'Cuz I'm working anyway, shouldn't I get paid double?"
The Director looks annoyed, "Under that law, you shouldn't even be paid at all, because that implies you are working,"
"That's stupid,"
"Anyways, your height?"
"5'3? I think that's what Medic told me. His voice is funny,"
"Your weight?"
Ana groans. "This is lame!"
"I know, but this is important, alright?"
"I don't know! Go ask Medic if you want to know so badly!" She starts impatiently tapping her foot.
"'Unknown'... so, your racial background?"
"All-Estonian muscle! Except my dad's from Luxembourg. I'm from Otepää, by the way,"
"So, the USSR,"
Her expression drops. "Whatever."
"And what about your class? What does 'the Kid' mean?"
"No one calls me 'kid', except Scout. But!, if you're talking about the job, then I'm called 'Kid' because I'm not the strongest, prolly the weakest of the team, but I make up for it with my speediness and craftiness! I made my own slingshot, y'know, and invented those ziplines on the field. I'm also the only one with hands small enough to fit inside a Pringles can!"
"Uh-huh, how do you think the others would describe you, personality-wise?"
"Hmm... I don't know. Haven't been here too long. But I think they'd call me 'annoying', 'loud', 'troublemaker', 'no-good', 'idiot'...–"
"Okay, okay, I understand..."
The Director finishes writing and pulls out another paper, much to Ana's surprise. She lays her whole body across the table to see what the paper is about.
"I need to ask you one more question. Can you answer honestly?"
"I don't lie a lot. If it'll get this thing over with, I'll answer it,"
"Good. Now, because you arrived under strange circumstances I want you to tell me how you got here, from your perspective. Because apparently your arrival has caused lots of filing trouble,"
Ana's face drops, "Oh. Okay. Well, I lived in Otepää, Estonia with my two brothers and sister. And I got here after I fell out of a helicopter. I- I fell into the water and I lived the fall,"
The Director now looks curious, and Ana begins to regret ever mentioning her siblings. "It was only you, your sister, and brothers? Are your siblings older or younger? Do you have any parents or guardians around?"
"What do you need to know? I just have my brothers and sister,"
"I wouldn't ask anymore if I didn't have to. It's part of my job to ask these questions, and it's part of your job to answer them. Now, tell me more about your home life,"
Ana looks as if she's about to run. "Well, I have two brothers. Aleksander, he's the oldest of us. Olev is the youngest. And then my sister... my sister... she's older than me. My parents aren't around a lot and that's all you need to know– like I said,"
She didn't say that her parents are dead.
She didn't say she had a baby brother who was dead.
She didn't say that they died because of Maria.
The Director quickly notes down all the information, but pauses, and looks at Ana one last time. "Your sister's name is–?"
"HernameisMaria."
Ana bolts out of the room, chair clattering to the floor as she slams the door behind her; slamming it so quickly, that it didn't close, and the door waves open in the other direction. She leaves the Director bewildered.
