Cont. From Here @gunslinginnhogtyin
She falls back from the run-in, the people around them parting like a school of fish. They kept walking around the two as they gathered their bearings again. It's just another obstacle in the morning commute.
"Shit! Sorry!" Rachael says back with some bite, not taking the attitude lightly. He's given a look up and down just like everyone else did.
"...Are yew related to the Elvis guy?"

"We are NOT makin' kids, Crow." He better know she means it when she uses his shorter nickname.
@splinter-sister
GOOD LORD WHERE DID SHE COME FROM?! He shrieked and nearly jumped out of his prosthetics, "O-OH HI RACHIE, LOVE OF MY LIFE, WONDER OF MY WORLD! I-I wasn't serious you know hahaha..." <////<;
Wow one of the rare occasions where he's actually red in the face from embarrassment! He stands there, looking down, twiddling his thumbs for a couple seconds, "But hypothetically—" No

@splinter-sister asked:
Trick or treat! Just kidding! It's only trick. PRICKLY PEAR SNEAKY JUMP ATTACK.
Unprompted. Closed for now!
Jing Yuan startles at the attack, though it's more akin to how a mother cat will pretend to startle in the face of her cub's hunting pounce to encourage them to continue practicing.
Despite that, he is no less capable of catching Rachael with ease as she jumps at him, one arm looping deftly around her and letting the momentum of the ambush carry them into a spin before he gently sets her back onto her feet.
"Goodness!" he exclaims with a short laugh, "what was all that about, hm? You surprised me."

“Ah..I am you mean snasty or well Rachael?...”
     That was one of the few friends he has.And is the only one that fits the “prickly pear” description considering their spikes.He waved off the hatbots to await commands ready to take on the intruder.Instead he looked over his clipboard and sat down setting it aside on his desk.He can practically see the other vibrate,their eyes lighting up like a kid in a candy store.
“I see you have her humor.”
   He mused as he pulled out his own portal gun from his pocket to wave it at the other.Well he atleast knows how they got it..Hm what to do..
“Right,that’s understandable..to a degree.Please just use the front door next time.I can’t have people just popping in especially with my inventions out like this.Villians always try to get in to rob the place.”
   He got up from his chair and offered a hand.He’s still on the defensive side considering how he knows nothing of them and just mentioning rachael can’t really have him 100% trust a rando.Not like this...Especially when he knows rachael hangs out on the villians side of things last he heard.
“The name’s Slug,and you are?..”

Wild bee males and females like different flowers
The females and males of many wild bee species visit very different flowers for food, say researchers.
In fact, the diets of female and male bees of the same species could be as different as the diets of different bee species, according to a study in PLOS ONE.
“As we get a better sense of what makes flowers attractive to different kinds of bees, maybe we can get smarter about bee conservation,” says lead author Michael Roswell, a doctoral student in the lab of senior author Rachael Winfree, a professor in the department of ecology, evolution, and natural resources at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.

Five years ago, when Winfree Lab members were evaluating federally funded programs to create habitat for pollinators, Roswell noticed that some flowers were very popular with male bees and others with females. That spurred a study to test, for as many wild bee species as possible, whether males and females visit different kinds of flowers.

New Jersey is home to about 400 species of wild bees—not including Apis mellifera Linnaeus, the domesticated western honeybee whose males do not forage for food, Roswell notes.
The scientists collected 18,698 bees from 152 species in New Jersey. The bees visited 109 flower species in six semi-natural meadows with highly abundant and diverse flowers. The meadows were managed to promote mostly native flowers that attract pollinators.
Female bees build, maintain, collect food for and defend nests, while male bees primarily seek mates. Both sexes drink floral nectar for food, but only females collect pollen that serves as food for young bees, so they forage at greater rates than males.
From the flowers’ standpoint, both female and male bees are important pollinators—though female bees are more prolific because they spend more time foraging at flowers.
Before mating, the males of some species travel from the area where they were born. Targeting their preferences for flowers may help maintain genetically diverse bee populations, Roswell speculates.
“We see some intriguing patterns, where certain plant families seem relatively preferred or avoided by male bees, or where males have relatively less appetite for visiting flowers that only produce pollen and not nectar,” he says. “That could help pinpoint the right mix of flowers to improve bee conservation down the road.”

“I love yew.” Her arms squeeze a little tighter around them with her face buried in the hug. Be it somber and blue, she has confessions to give in comfort.
“Not in the romantic way! But, like… I love yew in a way I can’t imagine how I lived without it before. How I went without this. Like a rich broth without anythin’ in it. It was still good, but now it’s special. Yer like th’ noodles or some special spice added to it! Hah…” Coming out from hiding, she turns her face to the side to press her cheek to them with arms still wrapped snug around their frame. Yet she can’t look at them. A tiny sigh leaves her nose in acceptance of continuing.
“One day I’m gonna lose this. It’ll run out eventually, and I know that. I'm keenly aware of it… I wanna enjoy it now while it's here! Th' pain can come later with the empty bowl staring back up at me and the flavor phantoming behind.” It aches. The truth often does. But why all the music if they weren’t meant to dance?
