Doing the #fiberuary challenge and representing Latinas Who Knit. Yay #latinxknitters and @bxgirlknits ! Who Am I? I am so much more than my knitting! I'm a single mom in Tacoma, WA leading a full life parenting a queer tween boy and a queer teen girl, and semi-step parenting two more (non-queer) kids with my honey. I am an editor, a creative writing instructor, and an increasingly vocal supporter of Women Writers of Color and People of Color in publishing. Raised in a socialist cooperative in The Bronx, I'm not only to the left of most people, but also have first-hand experience of an intentional community that has functioned successfully for decades (my neighborhood celebrates its 92nd birthday this year). Due to work, parenting and other obligations, I don't do the things I love as much as I'd like to, which includes knitting, reading, writing, yoga, hiking, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, and traveling. But I've given up beating myself up for that in favor of savoring what I can do.
