Sometimes you find lost treasures and you just can't believe it. I've made a few jasper, obsidian and carnelian arrowhead pendants in the past that were sourced from Canada by my lovely Father-In-Law, but I found this raw quartz arrowhead at the bottom of an old jewellery box at a flea market in Newark last Monday. I'd initially overlooked it in the first rummage until it caught my eye as I was leaving. It needed some TLC and a thorough sonic cleaning, but I'm thrilled to have repurposed it in my usual arrowhead style with recycled sterling silver wire and salvaged turquoise agate and lava beads reclaimed from broken necklaces. Did you know that in the past some folks believed clear quartz was fossilised ice? Fresh new Snowflake Coral earrings are headed to a good home. Top layer is made with titanium scraps from a race car maker, and the bottom layer is argentium sterling silver. Ear wires are niobium. Scroll through the photos to see the parts and a bit of the process. The earrings were inspired while SCUBA diving when I spotted the coral species. It's soooooo windy here up on the hill, I'm struggling to catch up with photography because the caravan is rocking around. Grrr...I managed to get this bonfire glass marble necklace photographed last week thankfully. I love bonfire glass, especially when you can tell what it was previously. This is a lovely turquoise marble I found on the Jurassic Coast, Dorset in a melted shape wire wrapped in recycled sterling silver and I've matched it with a lava bead that you can use to carry aromatherapy oil. Also there's a hand-made ceramic bead with a stormy glaze. It sits on a faux leather cord with recycled sterling silver clasp and hook and extender chain decorated with seaglass.
