Why is it that, stories about objects that mimic humanity. I:E: androids, robots, dolls. Tend to be the saddest stories.
Objects that portray us, often more favorable than how we portray ourselves, tend to suffer the most because of these portrayals.
Be it due to worship of our humanity, worship of our grandeur, or worship of a singular human. Whose bonds have grown far too tightly wound to the synthetic.
I find that they tend to end with these mimics suffering the ultimate loss.
Be it of their lover, or their lives.
It's almost sadistic the way in which writers create these suffering protagonists. Bestowing humanity on to that, which by most peoples definitions is not a living being.
Why must we put them through this. Perhaps it's to show that humanity exists without us.
Without flesh, without bone, programmed to be replicas of us, made living through words rather than the womb, they still are human.
At least, human enough to make me feel sorrow, anger, frustration, and hope. A hope that one day, they might achieve a happy ending. Or at least an eternal peace.

i miss when the jfashion and related communities condemned art theft instead of bragging and celebrating buying replicas. idc if u "cant afford that expencive stuff!!!" buy indie, make ur own, or dont participate. "art theft is wrong" until you want to profit off of it. and people wonder why so many jfashion veterans dont associate with the younger members or consider them a part of the comm. if you buy stolen art, its stolen art. whether it be an art print, clothing design, or a fucking anime figure- you are giving your money to art thieves and saying a big old fuck you to the pillars of the community you claim to wanna join.

I'm declaring these finished. Forgot to drill some holes in the Sector 7 sign, but no big deal. Replica Blade Runner license plate & street sign. Cut vinyl on black plastic for the license plate, spraypaint on white plastic for the street sign. Plus multiple rounds of hand-applied acrylic paint washes for weathering. Very pleased with how dirty they look. Not perfect, but maybe that just adds to their charm. Not shown is the parking meter sign, which needs another good coat of matte clear sealant, and then sanding the corners, and then the painted weathering : / Waiting for the weather to cooperate on that one.

First Marcel Duchamp hung works on revolving doors in the Surrealism exhibition he designed in 1938. Then Sturtevant hung Duchamp works she made on Duchamp Revolving Door in her exhibition at the Everson Museum in 1973.
And there are more Duchamp Doors besides that.

Union Pacific's Historical No. 119
'Jupiter' Central Pacific's No. 60
It was at Promontory Summit in Utah on May 10, 1869, that the two steam locomotives met and where the 'Golden Spike' was driven by Senator Leland Stanford of California, completing the first Trans-Continental railway. The last two rails coming from the east were laid by Irishmen. The last two rails coming from the west were laid by the Chinese.
