Now that HBO has confirmed True Detective season 5 is happening with Issa Lopez as continued showrunner, did anyone get the sense that it might end up being a story involving Rose Agineau from before she came to Alaska? Like, that character felt as if she was written with the intention of her mysterious backstory being potential spinoff material, especially given she was married to Rust Cohle's father (unconfirmed if she was his mother). She presumably wasn't ever a detective, having mentioned that she used to be a notable college professor before becoming disillusioned, but the case could still easily revolve around her somehow. Plus they seemed to age Fiona Shaw up a little in season 4 for the role, so she could easily play a younger version of herself like they did with characters in seasons 1 & 3. Just speculating.
