Regression is very intimate. It's not just being vulnerable because you are returning to a mind of a child. It's returning to your actual childhood.

I was just at the toy store picking something up and regressed at the sight of those cheap plastic Barbie-like toys, including Barbie herself. I saw better made smaller toys, and even more expensive better made toys, and yet both of those did not appeal to me as the cheap ones. I wanted them. Why? Because little to no people in our lives know that we grew up poor, and those were the toys our parents could afford, and even then, not always. Smaller toys were not that much of a trend when we were a child, they started coming to light after we were about 10 or older.

The fact that our family was poor when we were little is the source of a lot of our childhood trauma. Us explaining why we like such toys to people we don't know very well would open us up to potential abuse. It is very easy to abuse that knowledge if you know us in real life.

So yeah. Regression is intimate.
