super quick tutorial on how to make the backdrops (aka as landmarks, those mountains, hills and stuff you see on the background of your sims world) buyable in Sims 4

I've used a mix of two tutorials I've found:

and here is my step-by-step process (each backdrop takes around 3 mins maximum to complete, so it is really fast):

Step 1.

Open up your Sims4Studio and use Objects category - Standalone recolor

Step 2.

Then you will see the objects from game to choose from. Make sure to check the "Debug items" checkbox and then start typing "matte" which persists in any backdrop name. You can limit the game expansion/pack you want to convert a backdrop from, so e.g. I was using the Snowy Escape one:

Step 3.

Click "Next" and name your package. Save it anywhere you will be able to easily find it, create a new folder or so. Then you will see the... IDK, panel? to edit your object. While you are in the "Studio" tab, you'd need to name your object as it will be named in game, and go to "Tags" sub-tab. First (I'm not sure it is really necessary, but I was doing that to make sure I'll see my object even without Live edit and Debug items turned on, so just remove the checkbox from "World objects" for that. Next scroll down a bit and apply a tag depending on in which category you'd like to see your object in game. I usually marked "Scrulpture" and "Misc" in the Decorations category. (just as on the 2 screenshots below)

Step 4.

This step is the most crucial part as otherwise you won't see the object in game even with those applied tags. Switch to "Warehouse" tab and there you need to find "Object Definition" and "Object catalog". See the screenshots below for more clarity.

Basically, in the "Object Definition" you need to find the "Tuning ID" on the right side. The author of the second tutorial explained "the why" more clear, but basically you need to state there a number of some other example object which is buyable and sellable in game. I used 14961, just as in his/her tutorial.

Next, in the Object Catalog you need to find "Dev Category flags" on the right side and change the last 3 digits to "080". Only the last 3 digits :)

And that's it :) Afterwards just click "Save" and move the created package to the game :) You'll see it if Custom Content is turned on :)

And Smiler, meanwhile, made a new friend -- Leila Illes! Mostly because a) Smiler is the most charismatic and likable Sim in existence at this point, and makes new friends just by saying "hi" to people, and b) Smiler needed a proper drink of plasma and -- with Victor already tired -- needed to butter someone up to get their fix. XD Fortunately, after a little bit of chatting and doing impressions and exchanging pronouns (Leila is she/her), Leila was happy to extend her wrist, and Smiler got their drink. :) I love it when a plan comes together... They then laid down for a little while to soak up some sun while Alice used the facilities and Victor woke up from his nap -- and then, after a round of Scruberoos to make sure everyone was clean --

PICTURE TIME! Yup, I forgot to buy Alice her own tripod (must remember to do that!), so I plopped one on the beach in a nice scenic location that they could use. :) I forced myself to keep it to just the initial ten pictures that you get from using the tripod this time, and made sure to get a variety of sizes -- a handful of little and medium ones, and a couple of big ones. Unfortunately, most of the screenshot versions ended up with that stupid "bloom" effect over them, so you get probably the most staid poses I had them try out of the bunch. *sigh* Ah well -- they still look like they're having fun, at least!

But we couldn't just stop at tripod pictures, no -- I also needed "dual seflies" for the photo collage behind the bubble blower back home! So once the tripod ten were done, I had each of them whip out their phone to get some shots with the others -- Smiler with Victor, Alice with Smiler, and Victor with Alice. Got some very cute and fun shots -- and of course I had to do Smiler kissing Victor on the cheek. Honeymoon and all! :) Ahh, I do love taking in-game pictures of my trio. It gives me all the good feels. :)

Note: I did my best to preserve the core Foxbury object interactions, but my focus was aesthetics first, so there may be a slightly 'imperfect' experience for sims attending Foxbury university.

Coffee Cart Overhaul

The university coffee carts have a new design and a new expanded menu, featuring food & drinks from various packs such as croissants, crepes, macarons and café lattes. (Only food from packs you own will work.)

Paris-Inspired CC

New objects that you can use to decorate your own builds, including a functional espresso machine for the obligatory french cafe.

welcome to the nonsensical-pixels blog: inconsistent previews since est. 2022!

have you ever gotten frustrated by the lack of desert-appropriate clothing out there? maybe you just want your sims to wear anything other than long knitted cardigans in hot weather. or hey, maybe you just like the vibes that come with the strangerville game pack and want them for ts2. well look no further, my strangerville collection is here!

started working on this set at the start of the month, while i was still playing strangertown (rip) but left it to cool for awhile while i went off to play some other custom 'hoods. well, until i started playing natosi by @oceansmotion recently and was in desperate need of more desert clothing, so i decided to resurrect this old project!

there are 6 clothing items included: 2 for adult females, 2 for adult males, and 2 for unisex kids! 🥳 age conversions are welcome!

i know that the original ts4 game pack isn't everyone's cup of tea--personally, it was my favourite--but the clothing sure looks great for ts2! again... at least in my opinion. i hope your desert-dwelling sims enjoy these new cas items--and the 'lil bonus i included!

Okay, so I started work on this download back when it was 100, but life got busy and when I was able to resume working on it, there were 150. Life got busy again before I was finished, and now there are 250 of you amazing people... but I’m actually getting this thing out there, so yay for that.

There are 61 meshes in this download, and hundreds of recolors. A quick rundown of what’s included:

Some of @aroundthesims 4t2 tattoo parlor set. The chair is cloned from pikkon’s tattoo chair, so it’s a double for the makeover chair. The single rolling drawer is an end table that is slaved to the double sideboard, so you need the double for the single to show up. 

High School Years’ Starry Eyed prom/dance set, which contains the balloon arch (sculpture), backdrop (sculpture), dining table, dining chair, and banquet table, cloned from a very similar table by @veranka-downloads

And finally, I converted at least one thing from every expansion pack and game pack from Sims 4 currently released that hadn’t been converted before, plus a few deco things from Sandy @ ATS that I really wanted in my game.

When it comes to the downloads, there are two options for you to choose from. One offers each of the meshes in a separate folder with its recolors and the textures for each so you can pick and choose what you want to keep. The second zip is all the recolors merged with their respective meshes, so there are 61 total files. You only need to download one.
