Suddenly the stage is full of sound and fury, signifying…everything. Chapter Summary: It’s the day of the audition. What will happen when Robbe and Sander finally meet?

Today was the day. Romeo and Juliet auditions. Sander’s skin tingled in anticipation as he pushed open the heavy doors of The Tchaik. He’d been waiting for this all year. Drama club was fun. The little skits and scenes they performed were entertaining, but he wanted a full production. He wanted to feel it, to see it, to be absorbed in it, to have the costumes, the scenery, the audience. Fuck, he loved the audience. He loved their energy, loved knowing they were there, that he was making them feel things.

He was so ready for this! He knew his prepared monologue forwards and backwards. He knew he would do well. The real question was what part he would get. He and his friends were all trying out for Romeo with the intention of accepting other roles if offered, but secretly, he was desperate to be Romeo.

If Sander were honest, everyone expected him to be Romeo. Even he expected to be Romeo. He had been Prince Hal to Senne’s Falstaff last year in Henry IV Part 1 and Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing the year prior (he’d missed out on Benedick, as a fourth year had been cast). In a sense, Romeo was his to lose, and while he felt the pressure, he also didn’t feel like he had any competition.
