I like the fact that wringing Yugo out for his wakfu made him age since it's the source of his life force.
Now that Yugo is an adult it's so intriguing but weird at the same time. So the voice actor changed of course. It's kind of cool they kind of made him handsome while still trying to keep his cute nature as well. I really hoped for that. They also kept Yugos characteristic movements in the animation as well.
Hope it's possible to integrate some Yumalia moments before the season ends... :')
Noras fate really disturbed me to no end. And it's so sad to see Qilby go already. I loved them so much.
I'm kind of fascinated about what they decided to do with the mechasms. They have really interesting designs. So Orgonax wasn't the only powerful one with the eliacube as his heart, which Qilby took back then, and there are others as well.
thinking about the parallel of “i kept calm and carried the weight of the rift” to the imagery of her clinging onto the piano in the ocean in the cardigan music video, since in so long london the rift symbolizes a sinking relationship that’s taking her down with it when the piano (functioning as a rift) in cardigan represents how music is what keeps her above water when it’s storming and she’s at risk of drowning
From what I gathered, Sapochnik is saying that Daemon wanted to use Rhaenyra to get back at Viserys.
Some people (like Viserys) are interpreting it differently - they're saying that Daemon is manipulating Rhaenyra because he wants the throne.
And others are saying that Daemon stops because he cares too much for Rhaenyra to "ruin her".
Or he stops because he realises that he can't actually "ruin her" because she's actually already "ruined" - aka, she's enjoying it and she's taking control.
Or maybe he stops because he realises that he loves her and doesn't want to just take her in a brothel.
I don't know honestly - there's so many different interpretations. Game Of Thrones was good at making sure that the viewer knows what the scene is supposed to be like - whether or not it's supposed to be good or bad. Usually, the female gaze oriented love scenes in Game Of Thrones were good. I can't decide whether this one was supposed to be good or bad - or what the meaning was.
I do still think that Daemon does like/love Rhaenyra in his own way (as stated by Matt Smith) - despite what Sapochnik said - and I do think that Daemon might have had multiple reasons to do what he did, not just the "oh let me just use her to get back at my brother". I think there's more to it.
Rhaenyra is obviously in love with Daemon and basically used Criston as a dildo. I don't think she actually likes him romantically at all. She just wanted to get off. If she liked him, she would have looked him in the eyes lovingly at the end of the scene - but she didn't. There was only the shot of her mischievous smirk after the whole thing.
Also, I like how in the behind the episode video she's saying that technically Rhaenyra didn't lie because she didn't actually sleep with Daemon. But I do like that Rhaenyra is becoming a more grey character.
I felt bad for Alicent - that scene was uncomfortable. And she still cares for Rhaenyra, Rhaenyra cares for her too. But she's also catching up and knows that Otto has been scheming.
I am actually so serious I think it really messes with a childs creativity and joy to tell them to never make a mary sue OC. Like that unbridaled form of joy where you make a self insert OC who super cool and everyone loves them and they have every superpower in the world SHOULD be something a kid makes, it nourishes their ability to create things for fun and not be stifled by "oh but what if my character is too overpowered and cringey...". whatever
sometimes you will spend 30 minutes thinking about a character and you will expect to have something coherent to say by the end of that time but the best you can come up with is "they are sooooooo shaped they are so silly i love my blorbo"
I want to post this here too because I’ve seen it happen a few times
Please understand that there are cultural differences and language differences, if you see this happening let the person clarify what they meant, that person might just not be familiar with words the western side of the internet use
Half-foots are highly discriminated against in the world of dungeon meshi.
They have a difficult time living in places outside of their own territories because places where larger races live aren’t built for their size and crowds can be dangerous.
they’re the least valued race by long lived races because their life spans are the shortest out of all the races. this means that they’re dehumanized and often considered disposable. their superior senses make other races use them as “lures” when hunting succubi/mermaids (usually dying in the process).
They’re often mistaken for/treated like children because of their appearances, and because of this they have a difficult time getting jobs because it’s assumed that they’re immature/can’t handle it.
Because of this, when living outside of Half-foot territories they’re forced to get money by any means necessary (often resorting to crime), so other races stereotype them as “cunning” “greedy” and “manipulative”.
On top of that, members of long lived races who tend to fetishize them.
Even the name “Half-foot” is discriminatory.
Ryoko Kui does a fantastic job at world building.
But even after all of that, im not gonna stop talking about how bad i wanna put Chi Chi in my pocket.
an ex-zionist jewish man recently went a bit viral on tiktok for sharing exactly how he sees zionism tie israel to the jewish identity and his personal experience with breaking away from it - I think it’s a really great watch.
He also made a follow up talking specifically about how he learned to humanise Palestinians, and a really integral part of it was his school, which would often bring in Palestinian speakers who’d share their perspective (here’s a link to it).
