I’m not a Godzilla super fan but I think Godzilla Minus One might be my favorite movie of 2023, and at the very least it’s the one I recommend most highly. It was an incredibly done interweaving of insane monster destruction and real human meaning to make a genuinely purposeful and emotionally compelling film. I loved the themes in the end and I also loved being terrified by Godzilla whenever it came on screen. The characters were so interesting and loveable and their stories were heart wrenching. So good and so worth seeing if you at all enjoy big movies: big action, big concepts, big heart. Amazingly done.
