Music To Watch TV By
Paul Fitzpatrick: London February 2024 You know you’re becoming crankier when you have thoughts like –‘when I was a lad there were only 3 tv channels and now there are 500 and I still can’t find anything to watch!’It’s a ridiculous sentiment of course, there’s always a channel showing The Sopranos or a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode these days. Anyhow, I was having one of those moments recently,…

Run Of The Mill (Part 1)
Run Of The Mill (Part 1)
The car shows have started and it was great to get out and about. I was excited all week and just hoped that the weather was going to hold out for us. I had a decision to attend a choice of two shows; Stonham Barns which I attend a number of times or a new new venue, Kersey Mill. I get a little hacked of with the old mates scenario of the Stonham barns which are same cars winning in the show and…

Starsky & Hutch NYPD Serveta I've had this pic knocking around in a folder for a while, shot during the filming of Starsky & Hutch – featuring a Serveta L150 Special in full NYPD livery. I've got another one of Huggy Bear fixing a Lambretta somewhere, just got to dig that out…

elspethdixon replied to your post “holy shit this episode is about a white cop shooting a black teenager”
Starsky & Hutch is depressingly more current-feeling than a lot of modern cop shows in some ways. Like "look, they were clumsily baby-stepping into addressing these topics in this show from the 70s! It's been forty years so we ought to be able to do much better now! Guys? Guys? Anyone?"
yeah, i’m definitely seeing that. it makes me really glad i decided to watch it, because it has that look into an earlier era to shine a light on both how far we’ve come and how far we haven’t

Starsky & Hutch review: This is Early 00s Cinema
Starsky & Hutch review: This is Early 00s Cinema
Starsky & Hutchis the reason I like Todd Phillips movies. It’s a bit of a stretch, but I appreciate anyone that is willing to take paper-thin ideas and stretch them into weird new shapes. Still, I never remembered the film being a PG-13 rating. After all, I thought The Dan Band busted out some mature jams in this one. That could’ve been Old School or another Phillips movie, but it seemed fresh in…
