#olivetti M24 with external HDD unit. The typen of the box is HDU 2111, which is actually the version for an M21 portable computer. The difference is the connection to the internal DTC HDD Controller. Apple discontinued the iPod.

Today marks a significant milestone for all of us Apple aficionados. On this day, two years ago, Apple bid farewell to its iconic iPod, twenty years after its groundbreaking debut.

As someone deeply entrenched in the Apple ecosystem, the end of the iPod era evokes a mix of nostalgia and appreciation for the journey it paved. Being witness to both its inception and conclusion feels like being part of a unique historical narrative.

The iPod may have ceased production, but its legacy lives on, seamlessly integrated into the DNA of its successor, the iPhone. In many ways, the iPod's evolution into the iPhone symbolizes the relentless march of technology, where devices converge to meet the demands of an ever-changing landscape.

Reflecting on the iPod's impact, I can't help but reminisce about the countless road trips, late nights, and flights where it faithfully kept me company. It's more than just a device; it's a cherished companion that shaped my love for all things Apple.

And though I bid adieu to the iPod, I find solace in the fact that I still own a relic of its glory days – the iPod Classic. Perhaps it's time to dust it off and relive those nostalgic moments once again.

The Nexus Q, a spherical digital media player by Google. Dual ARM Cortex-A9 CPUs (OMAP4460), 1 GB LPDDR RAM and 16 GB NAND flash memory. It ran on Android 4.0.3 "Ice Cream Sandwich" OS. Connectivity options included Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), NFC, Bluetooth, microUSB, and 10/100 Ethernet. Its main input was a rotating top dome volume control and a capacitive touch sensor. It used an integrated 35 W switching power supply, and it supported Google Play Music, Google Play Movies & TV, and YouTube. Ports included: Micro-HDMI output, an optical audio port, an Ethernet jack, a Micro-USB port for potential modifications, and a set of banana jack speaker outputs for driving speakers using its built-in amplifier.

The Evolution of Lighting: From Fire to LEDs

Light is one of humanity’s most basic necessities which has played the role throughout the evolution process from man’s discovery of fire and up to the modern LED type. Here is a brief consideration of how the aspect of lighting has revolutionized our way of life. 1. Fire to Artificial Light The evolution of using light started with the flame that produced heat and protected people on their night travels. These are landmarks of such inventions which include the incandescent bulb in the late 19th century that brought artificial lighting and completely altered our existence. 2. The Science Behind Light Some significant advances in light science include Alhazen’s Book of Optics in 1015, Augustin-Jean Fresnel breakthrough discovery in 1815 of wave theory of light and James Clerk Maxwell’s electromagnetic waves Theory in 1865. Such discoveries provided the foundation for the advancement of technology such as optical fiber in the late twentieth century. 3. Lighting Efficiency Over Time Starting from the creation of the first incandescent bulbs that have a luminous efficacy of merely 10 lm/W up to today’s LEDs with luminous efficacy of 200 lm/W, the field of lighting has unparalleled growth. This leap in efficiency directly contributes to the current and future lighting requirements in a sustainable manner. 4. As mentioned earlier, electric light sources contribute to a number of effects on human beings and their environment. It has for example, an impact on food production, communication, and the general living and working environment. Here are some of the reasons why energy-efficient lighting should be adopted: As a result of increasing energy bills and environmental consciousness, there is an increased importance in focusing on energy-efficient lighting. 5. Energy efficiency in buildings drastically affects the global energy market and plays a significant role in the triumphs of energy-efficient lighting. Proper use of energy efficient lighting products minimize utilization of electricity in buildings this forms about 19% of the total usage of electricity globally. Thus, by implementing state-of-the-art solutions such as LCD illumination, for example, popular LED fixtures, cities could cut energy expenditures for lighting by as much as two-thirds, thus alleviating their financial and ecological loads. Energy-efficient lights are pivotal in managing climate change and encouraging economic growth since transitioning to green lighting is essential. Besides energy supply, implications of efficient lighting is that it saves energy while at the same time creates employment and enhances infrastructural development. In the context of the present article shedding light on the role of lighting development and emphasizing its significance in the context of the constantly growing energy prices and climate change, it is possible to state that the tendency towards the usage of energy-saving solutions is being justifiable.
