Forgotten Friendship (Tsukkishima Kei x female!reader)

This is another one of my much older stories that I decided to post. This might actually be gender neutral, it’s been a while lmao. I promise this isn’t all angst and has a fluff ending🙏

You were walking through campus on your way home from an after school meeting with the drama club when something came whizzing past your face. You glanced and looked around, wondering what almost just gave you a black eye or a minor concussion. There on the sidewalk about 4 feet away from you was a volleyball. It must have flew out of the gymnasium doors. You stooped down to retrieve the ball. “Might as well return this..” You mumbled to yourself as you tossed it around in your hands.

When you entered the gymnasium doors you were greeted with the stench of sweat and the sounds of squeaky shoes. “Did anyone lose a volleyball?” You half yelled, holding up the ball. Quite a few of the boys stopped and stared at you, making you mildly uncomfortable, a few you recognized from your classes. You could feel your cheeks turn red from embarrassment. “Oh! Ummm yeah, that’s our ball.” Said a guy rather sheepishly. He looked like a 3rd year. He had a nice build for his age, short black hair now coated with sweat, and the back of his jersey had a #1 on it. “Sorry about that!” Said another guy, nervously scratching the back of his neck. And you thought the first guy was built like a truck- this guy was practically a train! He looked like a 3rd year but more mature from the slight beard he had. His long auburn hair was tied back in a slick bun. You admired his man bun, but was a little taken aback by his size. “Oh! Uhhh it’s okay!” You fretted nervously, having gotten lost in your thoughts. You took a quick glance at all the other boys in the gym, there certainly was a lot and they were all equally chaotic. As you were searching the faces your eyes landed on someone who made your heart beat faster and your stomach drop. There was no mistaking who that icy glare belonged to… “Tsukki..?” You whispered to yourself. It didn’t help that behind him was a cowering Tadashi…

You see, Tsukkishima and you were childhood best friends. And to say the least you also had developed a crush on him in middle school, which you could never find a way to distinguish even to this day. After all, you had watched him grow from a smart little boy, to a brilliant guy. You were as close as two could be. You both grew up living right next door to one another, and attended the same school. Every day after school you and Tsukki would walk home together and hang out. Sometimes you two would run around outside or even read dinosaur books. You two were practically inseparable. But then your parents started arguing… When they weren’t at each other’s throats, they would be upset with you. Saying you weren’t enough, that you couldn’t do anything right, burdening you with chores…it never ended. And the more upset your parents became the less you talked to Tsukki. And slowly you guys started drifting apart. You felt like you had no one, so you took your anger out on some innocent kid who happened to be new to school. By the name of Tadashi Yamaguchi- You would do petty things like steal his lunch money, trip him in the halls, rip up his homework, or just flat out tease him. And once you started, you couldn’t stop. It took about 2 weeks before Tsukkishima saw this for himself. He couldn’t understand what had gotten into you. He ended up standing up for Tadashi and scolding you. To you, this just proved that nobody wanted you. Your friend had picked the new kid over you.. Later that day Tsukkishima had begged you to tell him what was bothering you, and why you were so upset. He knew about your parents arguing, but for some reason you never told him how it effected you. This made you angry for some reason, and you two got in a fight. In the end Tsukkishima walked away first, you thought you had won, but when Tsukkishima started giving you cold looks and hanging out with his precious Tadashi, you realized you had lost. Overtime it became more and more obvious that Tadashi was replacing you. No more walking home from school together, or hanging out at each others houses. Now it was just you watching Tadashi do all those things. Eventually your parents got a divorce and things settled down. You stayed in the same house with your mom, and visited your dad on the weekends. Due to all the stress this caused you, you started attending therapy which did great things for you. You no longer felt angry at the world, things were looking up. Even though you two never associated, you had watched Tsukishima grow up from next door, and unknowingly him to you. You were making new friends, and joining new clubs. However, there was no taking Tsukki back. As much as you longed to be friends again, he had Tadashi now… You don’t hate Tadashi. If anything you were happy that Tsukishima found a friend. If anything you deserve what you got, for the way you treated Tadashi. Unfortunately, you never did apologize to either of them. It was just too frightening to have to approach them both again. Heck, they probably hated you. If only they could see that you changed…Maybe things could have been different if you just apologized…

Standing there looking into Tsukki’s cold glare, all these thoughts and feelings came rushing back. You felt bile rise in your throat, and your hands clench up. “Umm here.” You said, stiffly handing the ball to the guy with black hair. “I-I-I should go..” You stuttered, and with one last look at Tsukishima and Tadashi, you spun on your heel and walked out of there as fast as you could.

It was the next day at school and you were leaving math class when you saw a familiar face in the halls. It was Tadashi… Yesterday after your little encounter with the boys, you had memories come back that you wanted to forget and move on from, but you realized that your guilt wasn’t letting you. You wanted to be friends with them again, to be close to Tsukki…As far as you knew he was single. So after quite a few pep talks throughout the night you realized that you had to apologize and take the risk. If things went well you guys could all become friends again, if not you would go on as hatful enemies…But it was worth a shot. You nervously walked over to Tadashi. Thankfully Tsukkishima wasn’t around to psych you out. You gently tapped Tadashi on the shoulder. He turned around, and the smile that was on his freckly face slowly faltered. You felt so ashamed to see that he was still scared of you. Couldn’t he see that you’ve changed..? “It’s okay. I’m not here to bully you or anything…” You nervously laughed, looking at your sneakers. “I-I just wanted to say I’m sorry..” You whispered. “Oh. It’s alright…We were just kids.” Tadashi said, smiling apologetically. “But it’s not! I shouldn’t have done the things I did…I was going through some family issues, not that that’s any excuse. I just felt the need to take all my anger out on other people…I’ve gotten better though. I realize my mistakes and that I never should have treated you like that…I went to therapy after that and got in a much better mindset. I’m sorry for all the pain I’ve caused you!” You finished, bowing abruptly. “Woah, there’s no need for that!” Tadashi blushed, not wanting to cause a scene. “I forgive you.” He said. You blinked. You practically made his life hell, and he just forgives you?! “But..why?” You ask. “Because we were just kids. And I can tell you’ve changed..I know it’s not easy to apologize.” Tadashi comforted. You just nodded as you both stood there in silence. It felt like such a relief to finally apologize after all these years. Especially since Tadashi forgave you. However Tsukishima didn’t have a forgiving nature like Tadashi, so he would be a lot harder. Suddenly Tadashi interrupted your thoughts. “H-hey I was wondering if you maybe wanted to eat lunch with me and Tsukki tomorrow..?” He stuttered out nervously. You couldn’t tell if he was just trying to be nice, or actually inviting you. Plus the reminder of Tsukkishima’s cold glare from yesterday sent shivers down your spine. But something inside of you wanted to. There was a part of you that wanted things back to the way they were. A part of you that still wanted Tsukki to be yours… And before you knew what you were saying, you had agreed to lunch with both boys tomorrow.

The next day you were absolutely exhausted. You were up practically all night thinking of scenarios where things went wrong at lunch today. It was a chore just to get out of bed. Your legs felt like Jello as you made your way across the cafeteria lunchroom. You nervously gripped your lunch tray like it was your lifeline. You were well into regretting your choice, when a voice pulled you out of your thoughts. “Hey Katey! We’re over here!” You looked over to see an excited Tadashi waving you over from across the cafeteria. You smiled at seeing Tadashi all excited, but a frown quickly made its way across your face when you saw Tsukki’s pissed off expression. Based on his looks, he was not happy you were joining them. You gave a small wave back to Tadashi and headed over with legs of lead. You made sure you took a seat next to Tadashi who sat across the table from Tsukkishima. All throughout the lunch period Tsukkishima kept sending you cold glares, while Tadashi tried to fill in the awkward tension between you two. It would have been more enjoyable if Tsukki wasn’t staring you down. Tadashi seemed like a nice and funny guy. You had finally started to pretend Tsukishima wasn’t there, when Tadashi declared he had to leave lunch 10 minutes early to grab some supplies from his locker. Your heart started racing, realizing you were stuck with Tsukkishima now. You nervously picked at the chocolate chips in your cookie. “Tsukki-“ You started. “Don’t bother.” Tsukkishima interrupted coldly. He started to gather his things to leave, when you grabbed his arm. Tsukkishima looked just as surprised by your actions as you were. “Get off of me.” He said, trying to get his arm out of your grasp. Realizing it was now or never to apologize to Tsukkishima, you kept your grip firm. “No. You have to listen to me!” You begged, your eyes starting to water. “I am so sorry…I really am. I shouldn’t have ignored you all those times you asked me what was wrong…I should’ve told you, so that way none of this wouldn’t have happened. It’s no excuse but my parents started to take their anger out on me..so I did they same…Eventually my parents got a divorce and things were better. I started to see a counselor actually…and I made new friends and joined clubs. The point is, I realize my mistakes and I want to apologize. To make things right…We used to be so close…and I don’t know…I guess I miss those days…” You trailed off, silent tears streaming down your cheeks. Tsukkishima pulled his arm out of your weakening grasp. He scoffed “You know I still can’t stand to see you cry.” He said, wiping a tear off your cheek with his sleeve. You sniffled, and gave him a small smile, knowing this was his way of forgiving you. And that part of you that wanted Tsukki went crazy. You slowly put your arms around Tsukkishima’s tall figure and hugged him, inhaling the scent that was him. It felt good to be this close to him again. Tsukkishima hesitantly put his arms around you as well. “I missed you so much…” You mumbled into his chest, feeling those old bonds between you two strengthen. “I guess I missed you too..” He whispered. Just then the bell rang, signaling that lunch was over. You and Tsukkishima awkwardly broke apart, both sporting matching pink cheeks. “T-thanks…” You mumbled, embarrassed. “Ummm bye!” You started to walk away but you stopped when you heard him say “Hey, do you wanna walk home together after school? Like old times…” He asked. You turned around and flashed him a smile, feeling a special warmth rise in your chest. “Yeah. I’d like to a lot.”

It was the end of the school day and you were waiting outside for Tsukkishima. The bell had rang almost 10 minutes ago…Where was he? Maybe he wasn’t going to come…Maybe it was all just some ruse to embarrass you…Just as more dreadful thoughts flooded your mind, Tsukkishima came out of the school doors. “Sorry about that, I had to speak to a teacher about something.” He aapologized. You looked over to see him standing beside you, wearing those headphones you had gotten him for his birthday as kids. You couldn’t help but smile. “You still have those?” You teased, pointing at them. “Yeah..Why wouldn’t I?” He said it in such a confident way that you couldn’t help but blush. “Nevermind.” You giggled, a slight bounce in your step. When you reached both your houses, you and Tsukkishima both stopped to look at each other. “Thanks for walking me.” You blushed. “It was nothing.” Tsukkishima shrugged, even though his cheeks said otherwise. “Sooo tomorrow wanna walk to school together..?” You asked nervously. “Sure, just don’t take to long getting ready. I don’t wanna be late, and you look fine anyway.” He said casually as he walked next door to his home. You just stood there dumbfounded. Did Tsukki just give you a compliment and imply you looked good!? Long story short you were speechless for the rest of the night.

It had been about a month since you had apologized to the boys and things were going well. Everyday you and Tsukkishima walked too and from school. At lunchtime you, Tadashi, and Tsukki would all sit together, and the conversation wasn’t awkward anymore. In fact, you had all become quite good friends. You even went to a few of their volleyball practices, which were a little chaotic to say the least. On the plus side, you had made some more friends in the volleyball club as well. It was another day after school and you and Tsukkishima were walking home together, reminiscing on old times when you said “I remember I had a crush on you..” You nervously laughed, preparing for the worst. “Really? Well that’s lame.” He snickered. “Tsukki!” You blushed, elbowing him in the ribs. Your heart slowly saddening. “But not as lame as me, because I still have a crush on you.” He added, looking straight ahead. You froze, your heart pumping a mile an hour “Wait, what!?” You yelled. “Yep. Now shut up.” Tsukkishima said, stopping in front of your house. Figuring that this was unfortunately the end of this conversation you started to head up to your porch when Tsukki stopped you. “Wait!” He said. You turned around, confused, “Wha-“ You started, but were interrupted by Tsukki placing his lips on yours. You felt your heart flutter in your chest, and realized that this is what it felt like to be in love. You slowly kissed back, enjoying the way his lips tasted. Tsukkishima deepened the kiss, and forced your lips apart, slipping his tongue inside. You two kissed for a while until Tsukkishima broke away, breathless and said “Y/N…Will you finally go out with me?” You started squealing. “Omg yes Tsukki!” You yelled, jumping into his arms. “Hey easy now. Don’t break me.” He scowled, but you saw a smile start to form on his face. “Thanks Tsukki for giving me a second chance…” You whispered into his chest. “No problem. I’ll always be here…” He whispered into your ear.

...Or did so in general because you want to surprise your team. You've had a pretty hard time expressing your own emotions through words, like some other people.

And boom! One day came the thought of like...

ANYWAYS...so it took lots of time but you managed to get help from your bandmates to finish doing the song.

First of all, before the day of the surprise performance you texted Kita the night before and told him and the team to get to the gym early because of an "announcement".

The sounds of booming music was heard from the gym, the calming sound of the bass along with the melodious sound of the keyboard right in tow. You were right inside– singing and conveying your feelings to the audience you had gathered.

'Even if my heart froze over, you would always be there to embrace me and tell me, "it will be okay".'

From behind his phone's screen, Suna sticks his tongue out at the twins fighting. "Hear that? I always comfort (Y/N) when she's lonely more than you two." This ticks them off. Atsumu glares right at the pussy hair boy, seemingly jealous.

"Shush, Suna!"

This keeps going on and on until the moment Kita finally tells them to stop. He just wants to hear your beautiful voice and nobody else's. Just– let him have a moment.

'And believe the world will change, it's so filled with kindness. So much that tomorrow will be dazzling, too.'

Aran had nearly begun sobbing. "What a good hearted girl." He quietly praises while watching you stand right up in front of the stage, with the biggest smile on your face as you sang.

"Can she be mine?" Akagi deadpans, stars almost coming out of his eyes. I'm afraid to tell you that you gotta get in line, (Y/N)'s already got these other boys–

...

It was done, the sounds of the instruments began to fade and you look to your team, soft expression never fading once. It was that time on that they had known you would never leave them, because with those lyrics alone, you definitely chose to stay.

Clapping. You wanted to hear that most. Because you tried hard to confess– maybe a bit too hard just thinking about the song, but it was worthwhile to see some of the boys's rare smiles.

Ah yes...both sides agree it was a real blessing to have you on their team. No take backs.

The song may have been short, but the time you'll be spending together with them will live on forever. They don't need the memories, but sometimes, exceptions can also matter.

Yes, my grandmother. I kinda hate my name.

Their smile, and if I have to shake hands with them, whether their fingernails are clean.

What sports do you/have you played?

I am SO BAD at sports it’s not funny. Even as a young fit skinny teenager, I was never athletic. The sport I’m probably worst at is volleyball. Why do people love that game so much? I could never play volleyball in gym class without either getting hit in the head or jamming my finger.

Any special talents?

Baking! And maybe someday I’ll feel confident enough to say writing.

ohhh let's see... last week i think? i was having a crisis about where my life's going and had one of those praying/crying things about it.

probably the way they dress. it's very telling.

i played soccer when i was in elementary school, and through middle and high school i played volleyball. i'm the assistant coach for my school's middle school team now :)

history, and physics but only because of the teacher

i want to be a researcher/author with a university or museum where i have a cosy office with my phd hanging on the wall, floor-to-ceiling bookcases stuffed with interesting reads (including my published novels), and a beautiful oak desk at which to sit and write novels and history books and research articles.

1. Are you named after anyone? Not my first name, but my middle name is after my Mom and my Grandmother! Noelia-- Mine is just Noël ♡

2. When was the last time you cried? Literally 5 hours ago as of writing this, when watching the ending to A Plague Tale: Requiem hsjkddgf But crying isn't a rare occurrence otherwise, anyways.

3. Do you have kids? Nope, just one fuzzy child in the form of a cat pffft~

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Not really actually... it's rare that I do, now that I think about it. But when I do, then you know I'm annoyed LOL

5. What sports do you play/have you played? I played volleyball a ton growing up, it was my favorite sport. Other than that, the usual stuff was forced on me via gym class when I was in high school. Nothing I particularly enjoyed, aside from swimming and volleyball c':

6. What’s the first thing you notice about other people? When people overshare upon first meeting, and even in contrast, when people share nothing but invite you to share. It seems to always end up with the person wanting you to themselves and they tend to get easily jealous when others have your attention. Romantic relationships are hard enough, the pressure of being "tied down" to a single friend? No thanks. And if the excuse is "best friends" well... "Best friends" doesn't equal only friend.

7. Scary movies or happy endings? How about... Scary movies with a happy ending ?? Pffft~ but for real, I love me a good horror film. Anything paranormal related or Zombies, I'm absolutely there. I enjoy a good thriller here and there, but I love a good spooky horror movie !!

8. Any special talents? I do art and play a couple of music instruments, but I tend to pick up on any new ones with just sitting down and playing them by myself-- so I guess that's a pretty special talent!

10. What are your hobbies? Art, Writing, Photography, Gaming, and I want to get back into Biking ♡

13. Fave subject in school? Art & Music classes were always my favorites, but I also enjoyed my English classes in High school specifically!

14. Dream job? I used to want to be a comic/manga artist, but then I changed that to being a character designer for video games. Right now though, I just want anything that lets me create. I'm tired of being tired from catering to other people. I want to write stories. Create characters. Share experiences through media. Just let me create.

15. Eye colour? Brown, kinda on the russet side.

TSUKISHIMA:

you stayed at his apartment a little later than usual, not really realizing how late it was until he pointed it out

you were honestly fine with driving back to your place, but he insisted you stay the night

"too dangerous" he says

when you told him you didn't have anything to wear to bed, he immediately threw a pair of boxers and one of his sweaters at you, already leaving the room for you to change.

when you walked out and was done changing, he could not stop staring at you

mans already has a sarcastic demeanor, so when you saw him staring you couldn't help but feel a lil defensive

to be specific, you were wearing boxers with dinosaurs on them classic tsukki and you were wearing his purple sweater with the little star

tsukki thought he would be embarrassed, considering he gave you a pair of his underwear with fucking dinosaurs on them without even realizing

but he thought you looked so adorable, his clothes looking way better on you than him

the boxers were kinda saggy and the sleeves of his sweater went over your hands and gave you lil paws

he wanted to say some witty, sarcastic comment

but no words were coming out of his mouth, only a little smirk creeping onto his face

you on the other hand thought you looked silly and were about to turn around to put back on your regular clothes

he quickly got up from where he was and pulled you onto his lap, leaning in close

"where do you think you're going?"

"to go change, since you obviously have an issue with me wearing this."

you were staying over for one night, but you completely forgot to bring a change of clothes

you sat on the edge of his bed, waiting patiently while bokuto scrambled through his closet and dresser, trying to find the perfect outfit for you to wear to bed

bokuto was a lot bigger than you, a lot more muscular

you were kinda worried that nothing would fit

he waved you off like it was no problem, still searching for some clothing that he thought would fit you comfortably

he finally found one of his old volleyball jerseys, which he swore up and down was clean, and some boxers he never really wore anymore

he turned around to give you some privacy what a gentleman until you tapped on his shoulder

you gave a little spin with a small smile on your face

the jersey was a bit big on you since bokuto had a very broad chest and shoulders

the boxers fit you just perfectly though, which you found surprising since this man has a phat ass

bokuto had the biggest smile on his face, like he just won the best prize of his entire life

sakusa to the rescue!

he was slightly annoyed because you tend to be a little touchy when you're drunk, and sakusa isn't a very touchy person to begin with lmao

he picked you up from the bar you and your friends were at and drove you back to his place

the whole ride there consisted of you trying to touch him, but he sent you one look that just said, "i dare you to touch me rn"

you sat back in your seat with a pouty look on your face, arms crossed and everything

once you finally arrived at his apartment, stumbling in the meantime, he walked you into his room where he gently sat you on his bed

you started to sober up a little bit, realizing you were still in your party clothes

lowkey freaking out because you were scared to ask him since he's never really let you wear his clothes

ATSUMU.

- the team has a favorite twin and it’s osamu, we all know it

- one day after practice, the team finds out that one of the first-years managed to get a girlfriend

- most of the inarizaki vb team is single at that point in time so it starts a conversation about relationships

- somewhere in the conversation, aran says, “osamu, man. I can’t believe ya haven’t gotten a girlfriend yet. yer easily one of the best-looking people in the school.”

- osamu just shrugs, but atsumu’s like “huh??”

- “hey ‘samu and i have the same face. don’t cha mean that we’re some of the best-looking people in the school??”

- the guys in the locker room exchange glances

- aran‘s like “look, atsumu. don’t blow up on me or anything, but most girls don’t really want to date you.” (keep in mind that aran’s strictly speaking about the girls that aren’t a part of the miya twins fan club)

- “and why the hell not?”

- at this point, aran’s looking at literally everyone in the room and pleading with his eyes for help because he doesn’t want to start a fight with atsumu

- suna takes pity on aran and says, “hate to break it you, miya, but girls don’t want to date a guy who’s a massive asshole”

- now, atsumu could care less if the entire goddamn world thinks he’s an asshole, but it rubs him the wrong way that his teammates think that osamu’s a better catch than he is

- sibling rivalry pride or whatever

- so atsumu goes “i think my girlfriend would disagree because oh will ya look at that, she’s dating me!”

- he was most definitely not dating anyone

- osamu raises an eyebrow at him because to his knowledge, atsumu didn’t have a girlfriend

- “since when did you have a girlfriend?”

- osamu looks at atsumu with knowing eyes and smirks. “yeah sumu, who’s this girlfriend of yours? I don’t think i’ve met her yet.”

- atsumu knows he’s gotten himself in some deep shit

- but still he’s still full of pride, so he says, “i’ll bring her by to practice tomorrow.”

- now miya atsumu has a dilemma because there are some things he just shouldn’t lie about (because now he’ll never live it down if he can’t figure out a way to get himself out of this one)

- atsumu knows that he’s got that fanclub that would probably be more than willing to date him, but the thought of being in their presence for longer than two seconds makes his skin crawl because he doesn’t think he could handle the excessive screaming

- so that night he decides to go to the bakery down the street that he frequents because they have some of the best macarons in town

- you’re one of the bakers at that bakery that works the shift when he usually comes in for his weekly macarons so you two are acquainted

- you also go to inarizaki, so you hear the rumors that circulate around atsumu, but you don’t really pay much attention to them because he’s not that bad whenever he comes into the bakery

- like sometimes if he tries to only order 2 macarons but notices that there are only 5 macarons left, he’ll buy them all just to make your life easier

- when he comes in that day, he has this troubled look on his face. “hey y/n. can i just have my usual? oh and an iced matcha.”

- you like to keep tabs on your regulars and what they order, so when he orders an iced matcha, you know that something’s probably up (he never orders drinks from there because he said that his brother would kill him if he didn’t bring him home a drink too and having to carry the two drinks up to their apartment is hassle enough)

- you’re in the middle of making his drink when you decide to ask him what’s up “everything alright?”

- it’s almost time to close up and you two are the only two left so you figured you had time for small talk

- “i may have outright lied to my team about havin’ a girlfriend.”

- “you don’t?” that surprises you because so many girls at your school have a crush on the miya twins (you would know because your best friend is practically in love with osamu)

- when atsumu shakes his head dejectedly, you don’t quite understand what he’s so down for

- “you do know that there are like 50 girls that are practically lining up to date you right?”

- “yeah, but they’d expect a real relationship and i’m no good at those.”

- “why not?”

- “i’m too argumentative, let's just say, plus i’ve been told that i kinda come off as an asshole.”

- “and volleyball right?” you would know since he always comes into the bakery after a practice and he looks like he’s both dead and alive

- when you hand him his matcha and packet of macarons, he pauses

- “listen, don’t take this the wrong way but yer single right?”

- you almost smile to yourself because wow for a guy so attractive, his way with words isn’t great

- “i am.”

- he stands there for a good 20 seconds just looking at you with that look in his eyes that tells you that he’s trying to ask you something but he doesn’t know how to do it

- “you want me to act as your fake girlfriend don’t you?”

- cue atsumu chuckle @%EUTYDJBCJWER)*&# hhhhfs

- “ya know, i’m kinda seein’ why i get called an asshole all the time. it doesn’t sound as great when ya’ say it like that.”

- you agree to pretend to be his girlfriend, but on the condition that your best friend will be able to tag along if osamu’s gonna be there

- and that’s the start of it

- you visit his practice the next day before work and his team looks at you in surprise because they were 100% sure that having a girlfriend was just another one of atsumu’s lies

- they all kinda stare at you a little extra too because you’re really pretty

- “aye, get yer asses back to volleyball and stop starin’ at my girl like that.”

- you know it’s all fake, but him saying that kinda makes you blush anyways

- when you first agreed to fake dating him, you weren’t expecting that you’d have to spend too much time with him (he did tell you that he wasn’t looking for a real relationship) but that changes because osamu’s insistent that atsumu should at least try to be a good boyfriend and eat lunch with you and stuff

- you’re both aware that osamu doesn’t buy your little arrangement one bit

- atsumu’s got this raging pride when it comes to his twin brother, so he actually listens because now he’s made it his personal mission to convince osamu that you and him are actually dating

- it takes a while for you two to get into the hang of it, but once you do, it’s like a regular routine

- you and your best friend eat lunch with the twins (you and atsumu both watch as your best friend fumbles her way into talking with osamu), you drop by before work to give atsumu a kiss on the cheek before practice, he drops by the bakery after practice nearly everyday, and you come to his games while wearing a jersey that he lent you

- his teammates like you a lot and tease atsumu all the time because they claim that you’re way too good for him

- surprisingly, he always gets a little protective when they say things like that and always slips an arm around your waist

- one day when you’re over at his apartment, you help atsumu learn how to make macarons (with some help from osamu)

- it takes a while because he would get mad at the macarons when they would come out in weird shapes

- “stupid macarons! they got it out for me i’m tellin’ ya! they’re being like that on purpose!”

- LITERALLY A CHILD

- you learn to like that about him though

- dates with him are usually on the weekends (you both drag osamu and your best friend out with you) and it’s always something fun that osamu suggests because atsumu wasn’t joking when he said he sucks at real relationships

- most of these dates consist of holding hands as you walk around the streets until osamu sees a restaurant he wants to try out

- he always insists on feeding you at least once in your meal

- he also loves doing the walrus-chopsticks face?? (he only started doing it because he liked hearing you laugh)

- as time passes, you two start going on dates without osamu and your best friend (atsumu always claims that it’s because he wants to show osamu up, but you start to notice that osamu doesn’t even find out about these dates most of the time)

- you secretly like these dates better than those with osamu and your best friend because atsumu feels more at ease and will develop a softer tone around you during these dates

- eventually, he starts to always greet you with a forehead kiss whenever you’re in public (you’re not sure if he does it just because his brother is watching, or if maybe he might be starting to like you)

- you try to make your brain forget that most of the time, he kisses your forehead before osamu even walks in

- one day after practice, you’re waiting for him because you didn’t have a shift at the bakery that day

- he walks out of the club room looking mildly pissed and you’re a little wary

- but then he gets to where you’re standing and just pulls your waist towards him and full on kisses you

- mind you, this is your first kiss on the lips with him

- it’s not a quick peck either, like you can hear the wolf whistles from his teammates in the back and you’re left breathing hard and flushed pink afterwards

- damn if that’s what his kisses are like, you suddenly wish he’d do it more often

- “what was that for?”

- “nothin’”

- sometime in the future you find out that he did that because his teammates were once again talking about your relationship and one of them joked that atsumu paid you to pretend to be his girlfriend

- he knew that what you had wasn’t necessarily real, but he just had the urge to kiss you then (he swears to you that he doesn’t know why)

- he does know why. it was because it was starting to slip his mind that your relationship was fake and the reminder made him a little mad at himself

- he realizes that maybe he’s fallen in love with you when osamu brings it up

- atsumu had asked for osamu’s help because he wanted to surprise you by making you mochis for your upcoming four month anniversary of being his fake girlfriend (typing this out was so funny, this man is so whipped he doesn’t know it)

- “ya know, when i first met y/n, i was sure that it was all fake and that you’d slip up about it one day. i guess i was wrong.”

- atsumu doesn’t say anything to that because in his head he’s trying to convince himself that “no. this is all still fake.” but it’s hard to convince himself of that when his hands are covered in the rice flower that he’s using to make your favorite dessert for your four months of faking being together

- he tries not to think about what osamu said when he gives you the gifts later that night

- he tries not to think about it when he gets that funny feeling that he’s been feeling for a while now when he sees the way you light up upon opening the box of mochis

- he most definitely tries not to think about it when you accidentally give him your second kiss of the relationship because you were caught up in the spur of the moment

- it’s on the way home back to his apartment that night that he realizes he’s fucked

- because good god he’s fallen for you

- he tries to break it off after that

- you’re confused at how sudden it is, but you let him break it off because at that point you’re already in love with him and are still too scared to say it because you keep remembering how he always said that he didn’t want a real relationship

- IDIOTS IN LOVE YOU'RE BOTH SO .

- he tries to go back to normal after that

- but for the love of everything he just . can’t

- his eyes always linger a little too long on the door right before practice because you would always come see him before going to work

- his feet would instinctively move in the direction of the bakery after practices until he realizes what he’s doing and forces himself to go home

- his eyes would scan for your figure wearing his jersey during games until he remembers that you probably weren’t there and that you most definitely wouldn’t be wearing his jersey

- he wants to kick himself because the reason he asked you to be his fake girlfriend in the first place was because he didn’t want a real relationship

- yet here he was. wallowing because if there’s anything more he wants, it’s a real relationship with you

- osamu gets fed up with him eventually

- “take yer ass to the bakery right after practice. i’m not letting you into the apartment until you see her.”

- and surprisingly, he actually listens to his twin brother

- he walks into the bakery for the first time in a while and says “hey y/n. can i just have my usual? oh and an iced matcha.”

- you look up at him then because you vividly remember that night. how could you not?

- you’re in the middle of making his drink when you decide to ask him what’s up “everything alright?”

- “i may have outright lied to myself about loving you.”

- you nearly drop the drink in your hands

- “‘tsumu? what are you on about?”

- “i know i said that i’m no good at real relationships. but i’ve found that i want to learn to be good.”

- a pause

- “i want to learn with ya.”

OIKAWA.

- this poor boy is always the butt of the jokes that come from his team

- seriously though. it’s always “tease oikawa day” (he teases them back so it’s all good)

- but one day, they’re all in the locker room when hanamaki brings up this girl that he’s planning on asking out because he’s not sure how to do it

- oikawa, being the little shit that he is, goes “step one, makki. have my face. step two, have my amazing personality. step three, ask her out.”

- he barely ducks in time to miss the shoe that comes flying towards his head

- “makki! such unbecoming behavior! my advice is perfect!”

- matsukawa snorts and says “perfect advice my ass. you can’t even get anyone to like you. let alone go out with you, crappykawa.”

- “don’t spread lies, mattsun.” oikawa clicks his tongue like a mother scolding his child. “or do you seem to forget the dozens of confessions i get on the daily along with the girls that you three complain about all the time because ugh shittykawa’s gonna make us late if he keeps talking to them” (he’s so dramatic lol he says that last part in this weird, whiny voice)

- iwaizumi scoffs. “doesn’t count when you reject every single one.”

- “i do not!”

- “right. right. as if you don’t make them cry because you’re so nice about rejecting them too.” (oikawa frowns at that one because he doesn’t mean to make them cry)

- “yeah, shittykawa, you’re pretty bad at love in general. i’d die before listening to your advice.” (this one is from matsukawa)

- “there’s also the fact that the girlfriend’s you did have all broke up with you because you would rather cuddle with a volleyball than cuddle with them.” (this one is from hanamaki)

- oikawa scowls at them “i don’t cuddle my volleyball.”

- “sure you don’t. just like you most definitely don’t have a name for it either.”

- “leave iwa-chan the second out of this!” (he drew an angry face on his volleyball too because he claims it looks like iwaizumi)

- iwaizumi groans. “i hate you. so so much.”

- at this point, oikawa knows they’re right, but he’s also really prideful. “and besides. i would suggest taking my advice because i got a girlfriend just today!”

- he most definitely did not

- “sure you did. hey mattsun, i bet a week tops until she breaks up with him.”

- “nah i’ll bet five days.”

- after practice, oikawa came up with a plan for the next day to get himself out of the hole he dug for himself

- he usually got confessions before school, so he told iwaizumi that he was going to school early to practice and instead waited for a girl to confess to him

- but the moment he saw this second-year walk up to him with a little box, he knew he wouldn’t be able to do it

- he couldn’t do that to this innocent girl

- and he tries to say yes to her. he really does.

- but he can practically hear his older sister’s voice yelling at him about how “even when you get popular and get confessions from people left and right, i don’t want you leading anyone on. you only accept a confession if you actually like them.”

- he’s probably more scared of his sister than he is of his own mother, so he says no to that second-year, even when she starts to frown and walk away

- he’s leaning against the gym and rubbing the bridge of his nose when he hears you

- “everything alright?”

- you two were pretty close because he found out that you had a crush on iwaizumi in your second year and tried to set you two up (it didn’t work because he’s pretty bad at being a wingman)

- even when iwaizumi rejected you, oikawa had already grown to like your presence, so you two stayed friends despite how his best friend broke your heart

- “y/n-chan! what are you doing here so early?”

- “just returning a book to the library before the librarian knocks down my door and kicks my ass for having an overdue library book. what are you doing here so early?”

- “would you believe me if i said that i was practicing volleyball?”

- you look him up and down, and the smell of fresh cologne reaches your nostrils. his uniform is neatly put together.

- “looking like that? no, no i would not.”

- “well, what would you believe?”

- “i don’t know .. the truth maybe?”

- “the truth is embarrassing and is defamation to my good name.” that makes you raise your brow at him.

- “okay now i only want to hear the truth. i will not accept anything but the truth. now tell me, what kind of embarrassment have you proved yourself to be this morning?”

- “so mean, y/n-chan! now i see why you so very adored our precious iwa-chan.”

- you groan because you don’t want to remember that rejection. “oh just hurry up and embarrass yourself instead of embarrassing me.”

- “but it’s quite embarrassing.”

- “come on, spit it out.”

- “i may or may not have told iwa-chan, makki, and mattsun that i have a girlfriend when i don’t have one.”

- you look at him like he’s the dumbest person you’ve ever met, because at that moment, you really believed that he was. “couldn’t you just … i don’t know … accept one of your many, many confessions?”

- oikawa tells you about his fear of his sister and the second-year that just confessed to him

- you find yourself admiring his sister because she’s probably the one person on this planet that can humble oikawa tooru (the next person to be able to do so will be you, but you don’t know that yet)

- after hearing his explanation you get an idea. “can’t you ask someone to fake being in a relationship with you? you know, so you don’t get the angry sister devil/angel thing on your shoulder?” (LOL if you don’t get what the angel/devil thing that i’m talking about is, it’s like when you have an imaginary angel and a devil that sits on your shoulders and criticizes every choice you make)

- “are you offering, y/n?” he has that shit-eating grin on his face again, so you know he’s mostly joking

- “hmm, i don’t know. i think you’ll have to formally ask me to be your fake girlfriend. it’s only polite after all.”

- oikawa blinks for a second because he didn’t actually think you were serious. “what?”

- “are you going to ask me to be your fake girlfriend or not? maybe throw in a flower and i’ll say yes.”

- oh. oh.

- well, he wasn’t going to let what might be his only opportunity to get someone to fake date him pass by

- he looks around and sees a small flower on the ground and picks it

- he takes both your hands and puts the flower in one of them before saying, “y/n-chan will you, take me, oikawa tooru, as your loving pretend boyfriend, and save me from irrevocable embarrassment?”

- you laugh in his face because he’s trying so hard not to laugh through his “proposal.”

- “minus points for not getting on one knee but i guess i do.”

- you mainly did it because you may have already gotten rejected by iwaizumi, but you did like the possibility of being friends with him, and fake dating oikawa would probably let you do that

- you also kind of felt bad for oikawa, knowing that he wasn’t exaggerating how embarrassing it would be if his teammates found out he was lying

- when you and oikawa walk up to the seijoh third-years while holding hands, makki and mattsun are jostling each other while iwaizumi looks mildly surprised

- “see matsun! pay up!”

- oikawa and you both look in surprise as mattsun reluctantly shoves a few bills into makki’s awaiting hand

- oikawa’s looking between them both. “what bet did you use me for this time?”

- “i bet mattsun that you and y/n secretly liked each other.”

- blink blink

- iwaizumi sees the mildly awkward situation brewing so he says, “anyways, y/n if you ever get tired of this dumbass, you’re more than welcome into our group. we’ll just kick oikawa out.”

- after that, you and oikawa fall into a dating routine easily (you have a pretty busy schedule too so both you and oikawa understand each other schedules well)

- usually this is where oikawa’s relationships fail. he spends so much time with volleyball and the team that he doesn’t really spend time with his significant others

- it’s different with you though. maybe it’s the fact that the stakes aren’t so high because it’s only a fake relationship after all, or maybe it’s because unlike his past significant others, you don’t mind spending most of your time and “dates” with the other seijoh third-years, or maybe it’s because he remembers that locker room conversation and he wants to prove to makki, mattsun, and iwaizumi that he can be a good boyfriend (even if it’s a good fake boyfriend)

- dates with oikawa are usually laid-back because he’s tired from practice (so like walks in the park, getting ice cream, or study dates where you don’t get much done because you spend most of it just laughing and cooking in his kitchen)

- you find that he’s secretly a decent cook (the only thing keeping from saying that he’s a good cook is because he can’t cut vegetables for his life, and he also managed to accidently burn the onions you were trying to caramelize).

- neither of you acknowledge the fact that since nobody’s there to see those dates, you two technically don’t have to go on them since it’s only a fake relationship

- oh and takeru LOVES you

- seriously. he thinks you’re probably the coolest person ever (he tells you one day that he thinks you’re even cooler than oikawa and oikawa is a pouting mess the rest of your day. you can only pull him out of his slump when you jump on his back and force him to run to the bakery and buy milk bread)

- sometimes you’ll come with oikawa when he needs to watch takeru

- as takeru teaches you how to receive a volleyball, oikawa will watch you two with a little smile on his face (this loser is so whipped like man people passing by reminisce on how they were young and in love once because oikawa looks at you like that. oikawa doesn’t notice that he’s doing it though.)

- you sometimes spend time at his house with iwaizumi or on select days just by yourself (mostly for study dates or for watching weird sci-fi movies that oikawa seems to love)

- since you’re at his house so often, oikawa’s mother takes a liking to you because “you finally got her boy to care about something that isn’t volleyball.”

- it’s when oikawa groans a “moooom” in response that you start to feel those pesky butterflies

- oikawa will run up to you after games and just hold you tightly (he tells himself that it’s because his fan club and the team are watching, but really it’s because he can’t thank you enough for being there because he just plays better when you’re watching)

- my god, dUDE . he has no idea that he loves you like . MAN .

- mattsun, makki, and iwaizumi always tease oikawa about how you’re so much cooler than him

- oikawa whines to you and says, “y/n-channn they’re being mean again!”

- “what do you want me to do about it?”

- oikawa pouts like the baby he is and says, “kiss,” while pointing to his cheek. you give in and a round of groans comes from mattsun and makki. oikawa looks so smug and those pesky stomach feelings come back. iwaizumi is smiling to himself.

- speaking of iwaizumi

- you two become best friends after he finds you looking dejected as you wait for oikawa to get out of practice. you confided with him about how your relationship was all pretend. you might have also told him that you may be teensy bit in love with his captain

- iwaizumi tells you that, “there are some things you just ... can’t fake. the way that shithead looks at you is one of them. trust me.”

- he also tells you that his suspicion that you and oikawa had this weird spark was what kept him from ever reciprocating your feelings and why he rejected you (oikawa literally tried being your wingman before by texting iwaizumi things like “did you see how pretty y/n was today? don’t you think she was pretty?” and “iwa-chan! y/n is so funny and that’s coming from me, so she really is funny! i think maybe you should talk to her to see what i’m talking about (≧◡≦)”)

- at this point everyone knows that you’re in love with oikawa for real (except for oikawa himself)

- everyone also knows that oikawa’s fallen for you (except for oikawa himself, and you because you refuse to believe it)

- the moment he realizes he’s in love with you is on another one of those dates that you both know you don’t have to have but still choose to have anyway

- you’re making milk bread and he’s helping to measure the ingredients when he turns around to see you covered in flour and he just kinda stops

- and he realizes

- like yeah he’s been getting that small tugging feeling with you a lot over these past few months

- but now he finally realizes it’s because he’s in love with you

- he’s staring for a long time and for a second you think he’s going to make fun of your flour-coated self, but he’s staring at you with that look and you’re confused

- “everything okay? is there something wrong? did you mess up the measurements?”

- then an idea hits him

- “something’s wrong. it’s kind of embarassing though.”

- “what is it?”

- “no but it’s really embarrassing.”

- “what .. what is it?”

- cue cheeky little grin. “i think i might’ve fallen in love with my fake girlfriend. i don’t have another flower to ask her out though. i hope she doesn’t say no.”

- you kiss him for the first time then and take pride in the fact that you get him covered in flour in the process

KUROO.

- it happened the second day that you were at the tokyo training camp

- kuroo was with bokuto and a few of the karasuno first-years when bokuto started telling the first-years that kuroo had a girlfriend because he saw kuroo helping you carry your bags the day before (listen . this man is like . clueless when it comes to emotions sometimes i’msosorry)

- kuroo got this confused look on his face because he thought he would remember getting a girlfriend. “i do?”

- “don’t you? remember the girl you were holding hands with yesterday?”

- this was all some big misunderstanding

- so basically what happened was this: you’re shinzen’s team manager and you were tasked with carrying bags of equipment to the training center. kuroo was waiting for kenma to finish talking with lev (more like trying to avoid though lmao) and noticed that you were struggling so he came over to help

- kuroo figured that bokuto must’ve seen him holding the bags for you and assumed that something must’ve been going on (or maybe he looked over for the split second when kuroo held your hand in order to transfer the bags to his hand)

- he was about to clear things up when lo and behold, you walked into the gym

- “kuroo look! it’s your girlfriend! hey, come join us!”

- bless bokuto’s soul. bless that poor, oblivious soul.

- you walked up to them and looked at kuroo like “what??”

- you remembered him from the day before, but you didn’t remember ever agreeing to being his girlfriend of any sort

- he smiled apologetically at you and asked to talk to you on the side

- “what’s going on? why did he call me your .. girlfriend?”

- “look i’m sorry, bo’s a little … i don’t know. he saw me carrying your bags yesterday and assumed. i’ll clear things up, don’t worry.”

- when you two headed back to where bokuto is standing, it was obvious that kuroo’s smooth-sailing explanation wasn’t happening anytime soon

- because lev was there, and so was yaku

- “KUROO-SENPAI? THIS IS YOUR GIRLFRIEND? SHE’S VERY PRETTY SENPAI!” (bless lev’s soul too. another part of the extremely oblivious club.)

- yaku took no hesitation in teasing kuroo. “since when does kuroo ever get any girl to like him? this is new. no offense, of course.”

- kuroo tried clearing up the air by saying, “guys- listen this has all been som-“

- hinata doesn’t let him finish either lmao “YOU’RE THE TEAM MANAGER FOR SHINZEN!” (extremely oblivious club member number 3 here)

- “a team manager, kuroo? what’d you do to get her to say yes? is she a chemistry nerd too?”

- “bo-“

- they kinda just went like that back and forth, and kuroo kept getting interrupted

- you were just laughing to the side because it was kind of funny

- you also kinda felt bad for kuroo because damn his friends had like no faith in his romantic skills at all??

- maybe that was what made you say it, but after his friends were done teasing him you said, “he’s kind of a catch though, don’t you think? nerdy and funny is a girl’s dream isn’t that what they say?”

- kuroo blinked at you because what??

- once kuroo got you alone by asking you to take a walk outside of the gym, he asked, “so … what does this make us?” (surprise, surprise, he never got the chance to tell them about the misunderstanding)

- you just shrugged because really how bad could this be? “i felt bad at how much they were teasing you, so we could keep up the fake boyfriend/girlfriend thing for the week. it shouldn’t be too bad. plus it’ll save you the embarrassment of having to tell your friends that you didn’t actually get a girlfriend.”

- you guys did pretty good for the week of the training camp

- you’d cheer him on in secret if he got a spike or a block during a practice game while simultaneously still watching shinzen’s game

- you two walked around the halls when bokuto was watching just to keep up pretenses

- you learned that he’s a major nerd during these walks, which you found really endearing

- on the last day of camp, he tried to throw pieces of broccoli in your mouth (he didn’t stop until he finally got it in after his 9th try)

- you guys initially planned to “break up” after the camp was over

- but here comes bokuto again

- “hey y/n! kuroo, akaashi, and i were gonna go out for karaoke tomorrow if you wanna join.”

- you grew to like bokuto too so you said you’d come

- it was actually a really fun night

- you and kuroo sang a duet together

- he also stole some of your ramen

- you took a video of bokuto as he serenaded akaashi

- when you guys are leaving to go home, bokuto goes “you two are so cute. y/n do me a favor and don’t break up with kuroo until after the qualifiers would you? i wanna play him at his full game.” (again. seriously, he basically is the greatest accidental wingman ever)

- “we can’t break his heart, can we?”

- “no, we can’t.”

- and so your fake relationship starts

- you don’t get to visit each other often because you don’t live in the same vicinity, but you guys text often (it’s a friend thing, you both swear to yourselves)

- on weekends when kuroo’s not spending time with kenma, he’ll ask you to meet him at a park or a cafe (you two always send selfies to bokuto during every date)

- dates with him are always really fun because he’s spontaneous and also very active so sometimes he’ll take you by the hand and just drag you places

- he is not afraid to smear different colors of ice cream on your nose and call you some obscure name from some really old movie that he may have watched that week

- he also makes you push him on the swings

- the little kids get mad because what is this rooster man doing taking up a swing when he’s so old

- you laugh at him when the kids eventually come up to him and ask if they can use the swing

- dates will usually last the whole day because you’re both fine with just walking around and randomly finding stuff to do

- with all that time spent talking, you two also get to know each other really well

- like basically your life stories

- it took him a while to open up and at first he insists that you tell your story first, but after a while you notice how he starts letting little things about his life slip here and there until he starts telling you bigger portions

- you also get really close with kenma

- not close close the way him and kuroo are, but kenma would probably see you as his second closest friend

- that’s why sometimes kenma tags along with you guys (it doesn’t feel like third wheeling or anything because both you and kuroo enjoy kenma’s presence as much as each other’s)

- eventually, once you two got the hang of it, you’re like the couple that everyone likes

- because you’re both pretty funny and overall just have nice vibes

- his team starts to call you mom and dad as a joke because sometimes when shinzen doesn’t have practice, you’ll stop by at nekoma at the end of practice just to say hi

- they’re not wrong about the mom and dad thing though (it’s a really cute dynamic though i swear)

- your team used to not like him at first because they were protective of you, but eventually they reluctantly warmed up to him

- they threatened to demolish him if he hurt you though

- LMAO ANYWAYS .. MOVING ON

- you guys have lots of study dates too!!

- since you’re both busy because of volleyball related things, a lot of your schedule lines up with each other (this also means that kuroo knows when you haven’t had time to study)

- you’ll be sitting on his bed on your stomach with your legs draped across his thighs as you read your textbook and he’ll be sitting against his bed frame reading one of his assigned readings (i also like to think that kuroo has glasses for these readings that only you and kenma have seen)

- sometimes, when you finish studying before he finishes, you’ll come up behind him and just start to play with his hair

- his hair is actually really soft despite looking like a bird built its nest in it

- you also have two of his jackets that are just lying around your house

- he likes when you wear them because he thinks you look so cute (he doesn’t tell you that though)

- after a while, it’s like both of you have forgotten that this was all a ruse just so bokuto wouldn’t get heartbroken after you two break up

- at this point, kuroo has learned all your quirks, habits, and has also memorized your schedule

- like … he doesn’t realize that he’s fallen for you until someone points it out

- he realizes he’s fallen for you on the day that shinzen loses in the tournament (this would be your last match)

- now nekoma just played a game, but kuroo’s first instinct is to check whether or not shinzen won (he’s been doing this for every game in the tournament)

- when he sees that you lost, he knows that you’ll be sad and in need of a pick me up

- as kenma and him are packing up, he says, “shinzen lost today. i probably can’t make it to your house tonight. y/n will probably want to go out with her team for a bit, but she’ll probably crash at my place. do you think i should make her a strawberry cake? or maybe she’ll want onigiri? no, she’ll probably want the cake. she always gets the little smile with her one dimple whenever she eats my strawberry cake. makes me proud.”

- kenma’s just looking at kuroo with arched eyebrows because HIS BEST FRIEND IS WHIPPED

- kuroo doesn’t get why kenma’s looking at him like that because he thinks about things like that all the time. “what??”

- oh kenma knows your relationship is fake

- so he just looks at kuroo and says, “try to refrain getting down on one knee today. i doubt you have a ring, and i’ll bet that y/n will want a confession of you being hopelessly, madly in love with her before you propose by the way.”

- kuroo kind of freezes and blinks at him.

- “wh … what?”

- “kuro, do i really need to spell out for you that you’re totally smitten with her? you have been for a while now.”

- “have not.”

- “yes, you have.”

- “have not.”

- “yes, you have.”

- “have not.”

- “yes, you have.”

- at this point, kuroo knows that kenma’s onto something, but kuroo doesn’t wanna jump to conclusions until he sees you again

- when you knock on his door and run straight into his arms that night, he knows kenma’s right

- like you’re balling into his chest and he gets that feeling that he wants to hold you forever and never let go

- and he knows. he knows.

- after you start to calm down, he offers you the cake that he made just for you

- he swears that he feels ten times lighter after he sees that exact smile with the exact dimple on your face

- now kuroo may be loud, and rambunctious at times, but when he loves, it’s quiet, simple, but not any less there

- as you finish eating the cake, kuroo notices that there’s a few pink crumbs on your lips

- and he kisses you

- like a “slow, hand on the cheek, nose touching after he pulls away” kind of kiss

- “i made a realization today. kenma told me to hold back on proposing, so i’ll go with confessing instead.”

- you’re looking up at him with your heart beating hard in your chest

- “i think you might’ve made me fall in love with you.”

Haikyuu Polyship hc’s!

♚ Hey hey hey! Welcome to a little collab that @tetsurocking and I have been working on for a few weeks now! Like two but still. We each chose three different couples and wrote headcanons about a poly relationship with them!

♚ My three!: Suna x Osamu x Reader! Tendo x Ushijima x Reader! And Futakuchi x Shirabu x Reader!

♚ Warnings: Should be none! Although I reference high school in the past, everyone involved is aged up!

Suna x Osamu x Reader Poly!

✧ When you guys were in high school, Rinta would always send you videos of Osamu and him at practice; sometimes they were videos of the twins fighting, some were of them doing little tricks with the ball to get your praise, and some were just of them waving/saying they missed you

✧ They tend to spam your little group chat with memes while you’re at work or school, and sometimes they just spam you for attention <3

✧ They both really like it when you wear their clothing. Sometimes they get pouty if you wear one shirt or the other, but they never genuinely mind. In addition to this, they basically share a wardrobe. Is that Suna’s shirt or Samu’s? They don’t even know 🤷🏻‍♀️

✧ Suna probably sends you two pictures of the ugliest things he sees in a day and and puts a caption like « haha that’s you two. » that’s it. He probably doesn’t even bother to put a period at the end (Thanks for this one, Alma!)

✧ Suna takes tons of pictures with/of the two of you, and he changes his lockscreen background pretty often because of it. His favorite pictures are the ones he takes without you two noticing, hehehe

✧ These two are both really great drivers and they’re very smug about it. Food for thought 😌

✧ When you’re grocery shopping, they probably start eating what’s in the cart before you’re even out of the store.

✧ In addition to grocery shopping, don’t even TRY to tell Osamu one brand of a certain ingredient or food is better than another, he will throw a Miya Twin hissy fit™️ lmao

✧ They both keep extras of anything any of you may need in their cars. Period stuff if you’re someone who has one, hygiene products like deodorant and an extra shirt for Suna after practice, snacks for Osamu cause the poor boy always wants to eat in the car, etc.

✧ They both like to tease, but in reality they’re big softies for you. Want cuddles? Rinta is always flopping down on top of you once you sit on the couch. Need a back or shoulder massage? You don’t even have to ask Osamu at this point, he does it subconsciously.

✧ Suna prefers dates at home, lounging around and cuddled up, movie nights, dinner dates, etc. Osamu prefers lazy errand days. Going grocery shopping, cleaning the house together, dropping something off to Atsumu or grabbing lunch on the way home, he enjoys the domesticity of life with the two of you.

✧ DOING THEIR HAIR. Styling Suna’s hair for him in the morning or helping Osamu touch up his color before he goes back to brown.

✧ Holiday decorating, birthdays, and anniversaries are always fun with these two. To others, they’re relatively reserved, with a few sarcastic comments to spare *cough cough* we all know who I mean- But to you, they’re rambunctious and sweet. Making stupid jokes to see you laugh, babying you, all the like.

✧ Someone picking on you or getting a little too friendly? No need to worry, your two tall ass, intimidating boyfriends have your back. Suna is more of the- glare daggers at them until they get the hint- kinda person, but Osamu is definitely the- throw my arm around my partner and tell the other person to back off- one.

✧ Going to Suna’s games with Osamu to support him! Osamu once pretended to be a fan and asked for his autograph, and when Suna just looked him dead in the face and kisses him everyone around lost their minds.

✧ You and Suna visiting Osamu at work and bringing him lunch so he doesn’t have to make it himself! He has pictures of you three in his office too <3

✧ The boys visiting you at work/school saying it’s to playfully embarrass you, but usually it’s something like; bringing you lunch, coming to pick you up for a spontaneous date/adventure after you clock out, or just coming to sit in your office and bug you for a little while to get your mind off of work.

✧ They are both pretty possessive, but aren’t controlling. They just like to hold you, though Suna is the more reserved one of the boys when it comes to pda.

✧ ^That said, they like to show you off- a lot. Showing pictures of you or the other boy to their coworkers and teammates is a favorite of theirs.

✧ Whatever hobbies you’re into, they like to sit and watch you do. Reading, cooking (with Osamu?😌), baking, art, music, video games, etc. They just love to watch you do your craft! You’re so supportive of them and their dreams, the things they love, they try to repay the favor any chance they get.

✧ Suna is definitely one to just sit his head on your lap or shoulder and listen to you talk all day about something you love <3

Tendo x Ushijima x Reader Poly!

✧ Tendo has a massive collection of hoodies and he loves it when you two wear them. It makes him so happy to see you guys in something that’s his, a physical symbol that you two want people to know you’re with him.

✧ Both very affectionate partners, in their own ways. vv

✧ ^Tendo wasn’t very fond of pda at first, more so he wasn’t comfortable with it because he thought you two would be embarrassed to be seen with him. Once he found out you two weren’t embarrassed of him and wanted to show others your relationship, he was all for it! Usually likes to hold your hands or lean on one of you.

✧ ^Ushijima is more subtle with his affection, not because he’s scared or embarrassed, just that he prefers to do it in private. He knows you two know he loves you, so he doesn’t really see the need to be all over you in public. But in private? That man is always hugging you or nuzzling into your shoulder- he’s like a giant teddy bear.

✧ Ushijima loves to do all the domestic shit with you two. Cooking, cleaning the house, running errands. He’s just a sucker for feeling like a lil family with his two cuties.

✧ Tendo loves to plan the dates! Though if you want to, he’ll gladly let you! He likes to plan little day adventures for the three of you, whenever Toshi doesn’t have practice or training!

✧ Tendo likes to have his nails painted by you, and Ushijima likes to watch you two <3

✧ Matching nails with Tendo??? Mhm😌

✧ Protective boyfies! Let’s be honest here, it’s unlikely you’re gonna have too many problems with these two giants standing next to you. But if there ever is one, they definitely scare off whoever is bugging you quickly.

✧ These two are some of the most comforting people on here. They both had their share of not so great things happen to them growing up, Tendo being bullied and Ushijima basically being treated like a brute. The two of them became really good at comforting people, knowing how it feels to not have someone there to comfort you when you needed it.

✧ They’re big on cuddling to begin with, but if you’re ever sad or stressed? Prepare for Tendo making a pillow fort and Ushijima baking your favorite treats. These two are incredibly supportive and comforting when you need them <3

✧ Ushijima once got so fed up with Tendo being a little brat, he threw him onto his shoulder and walked around the house like that for a good half hour. Tendo thought it was hilarious and so did you

✧ Speaking of, he seems to really enjoy carrying the two of you around at random times. Piggyback rides, bridal style, or just like a koala clinging to him, he loves it.

✧ Tendo can sense a mood change in the two of you like it’s nothin. Seriously, the guy just knows when something is bugging either of you.

✧ The boys definitely ask if they can get a pet when you move in together. Tendo has a long list of crazy animals and Ushijima keeps suggesting a hedgehog for some reason.

✧ Regardless of what you decide on, you know these two are going to treat your pet like their baby. They’re going to spoil tf outta that little fella. 100% Tendo takes a million photos of them everyday. Ushijima doesn’t baby talk, he just talks to them normally about random things like volleyball and it’s pretty comical.

✧ Visiting Tendo at his chocolatier shop! He usually has very long days, and gets extremely happy when you two pop in to see him. Please bring this baby some lunch or dinner, he’s not a big eater and often forgets too. He has pictures of the three of you in his office too <3

✧ Watching Ushijima’s games and practices! This boy can’t get enough of the praise you and Tendo offer him! He loves seeing you sport his jersey with his name on the back, and he says seeing you two in the stands at practice or during a game really helps his focus?

✧ If you’re someone who has a period, these two are so sweet and thoughtful to ya. Tendo always makes the best chocolate, and Ushijima is basically a walking heater, he runs you hot baths too! Both handle mood swings very well and always make sure the pain meds are stocked in the house. 10/10 boyfies

✧ Please let Ushijima have as many house plants as he wants. He loves them and names each of them, he’s let you and Tendo name some before too! Catch this big teddy bear talking to his plants while he repots or waters them and your heart will melt </3

Futakuchi x Shirabu x Reader Poly!

✧ Salty, sarcastic, teasy boyfies- if you’re easily flustered, prepare yourself, they are going to use it against you. Calling you nicknames and saying things they know will make you start to stutter at any chance they get. (Lookin at you, Futakuchi) (please don’t think I’m making fun of people with a stutter, I have one myself.)

✧ Very protective, though they may not show it as often as some others do. Someone messing with you? You bet they’re next to you in an instant- offering several sarcastic remarks and a menacing glare from Shirabu, Futakuchi throwing an arm around you and bending down to the creeps level to further the intimidation.

✧ Both very comforting partners, if you’re feeling anxious or upset they’ll gladly take you into a big cuddle pile. Petting your hair or cheek, and telling you all the sweet things they can think of to see you smile.

✧ ^ Shirabu picks up on your insecurities very easily, especially if they’re similar to his own, and helps you learn to cope with and improve your mental health. Futakuchi has a gift for comforting people, always knowing what to say to make you feel 100x better about yourself or anything that’s bugging you <3

✧ Let’s not even get into what they’d say or do to the person if someone hurt your feelings, let alone made you cry. We’ll leave that to your imagination.

✧ Very competitive with each other. They constantly play fight for your attention, making comments about who’s shirt you wore today or who you ate lunch with- but it’s all in good fun.

✧ Futakuchi is a sly bastard, he really loves to fluster and tease tf outta you and Shirabae. For example: When Jirou gets mad at Kenji, Futakuchi just calls him his pretty boy or compliments how cute he looks when he’s angry and Shirabu becomes a complete flustered, stuttering mess.

✧ Going to visit Shirabu at work and/or bring him lunch! He doesn’t like to admit it, but he really does appreciate when you two come to visit and eat with him, especially during long shifts where he doesn’t get to see or talk to you two very much. He always becomes a blushy mess, waving off his coworkers with a glare when they comment on it- or when Futakuchi points it out

✧ Going to watch Futakuchi’s games! He’s very open with his appreciation for the two of you coming to watch his games! Either of you wear an extra jersey of his and it’s game on. He’s mindful to ask if you’re okay with hugs after, since he’s usually pretty sweaty, though.

✧ Of the two of them, Shirabu is the more perceptive one. He can easily pick up on any of the changes in mood the two of you may have, and it makes it easier to solve any issues you may have, rather quickly.

✧ In your relationship, Shirabu also gets frustrated the easiest. Whether it be with himself or the stresses of work and school, he finds himself getting frustrated and overwhelmed rather easily.

✧ You and Futakuchi are masters at calming him down by now, pulling him into a cuddle with lots of affirmation and he feels better in no time, offering to help with his work and take a bit of the load off cheers him up quite a bit too.

this lil dummy is so doting. starts your day off by bringing you your favorite coffee or tea and a lil kiss. he buys you guys something matching LMAO like maybe some bracelets or smth and while i am not a big “matching” fanatic and i don’t think bokuto would necessarily be an avid bracelet wearer, but he will not take that bracelet off unless it’s like a tournament game. definitely takes you out to some fancy dinner and also probably gets you kicked out of the restaurant

akaashi keiji ♡

akaashi is very down to earth. so, he knows what you’re going to want. he also knows what he wants to give you. so let’s say you’re really really into smth he rly rly hates, he’ll listen to you talk about it absolutely, but he might not spend money on it? in his eyes, the gift would be just like your relationship— a mutual understanding where two separate people come together. i cant say what it would be specifically (i’m sorry D: if u want my generic answer it would be: a lamp), but it definitely is a representation of what the two of you are together.

simpleton scrub. buys you a gag gift or pretends he doesn’t remember. starts breaking out laughing when you try to hide ur disappointed look (it’s ok to punch ppl sometimes😁‼️). his real gift is kinda cliche, but i feel like he really has no idea what he’s doing for like actual relationships even if he tries to hide it. he just gets you like one of those rectangle bar necklace, and he does get his initials on it bc he’s kind of a braggy fuck, but he only does it on one side so you can choose whether to show it or not.

this man is absolutely a perfectionist. he is so loving, absolutely, but he’s also kind of immature? so, he’s a little nervous to give you a gift because what if yours isn’t as good. Okay I haven’t written for my Haikyuu babies for quite some time and that sucks. Everyday is Haikyuu day and I simp for a different character every hour of the day lmao. -He is used to you taking his clothes.

-From hoodies, to t-shirts to his sweatpants, it has become a regular occurrence in your relationship.

-They are always too big on your body, his hoodies almost reaching your knees and it makes his heart go doki doki.

-He just wants to hug you to his chest and never let go.

-He has given you one of his t-shirts to wear to sleep cuz he loves the idea of you having a little part of him with you even if it's just a shirt.

-You two were having a sleepover before one of his major games and of course you were helping him unwind.

-You helped him make his duffle bag and double check for his knee pads, gave him a massage for his sore muscles after a long week of non stop practices and finally forced him to take a self care evening after he asked you to help him practice with his receives.

-While putting on his face mask you were going on about something random when you noticed the furrow of his brows.

- “Everything is gonna be fine baby, you’ll see. You and the boys have practiced really hard for this match and you;ll make it I know you will.”

-Smiling up at you he gave you a peck on the lips, careful not to smudge your own face mask in the process.

- “I know or at least I think I do. I just feel off knowing you won’t be there.”

-Oh that’s right….You weren’t sure you would make it in time to catch the beginning of the match due to a family obligation but you were certain you would get to see the later half of the game.

-Though Daichi didn’t have to know that yet.

-Kissing him again you reassured him that the team didn’t need you to be there to wipe the floor with the other team’s ass, that he didn’t need you there.

-The pout on his lips said otherwise though but he didn’t push it.

-When the time came for the match to begin, he kept glancing at the stands mainly out of habit but also because he half expected you to make it on time.

-No such luck though, you were nowhere to be seen.

- “Oi Daichi focus!!”

-Suga nearly karate chopped him in the stomach when he didn’t stop looking for you.

-Everyone could see that their captain was a little out of it but they chose to keep quiet.

-You on the other hand, were sprinting through the streets of Miyagi to get to your boyfriend’s game as fast as possible, his jersey spurring you forward as you pounded down the school’s courtyard.

-In a flash you were in your regular seat in the very front of the bleachers, chest rising and falling frantically as you tried to catch your breath.

-You took off your jacket and rushed to the railing, tracing the ball with your eyes as the opposing team spiked it right into your boyfriend’s arms.

- “GO DAI!!”

-His eyes found you immediately, quickly shooting down to your chest where the number 1 of his dark jersey rested proudly flushing at the sight.

-The game was over rather quickly after that.

-Daichi was in top form, his receives being immaculate while his serves were on point.

-The first thing he did when he walked out of the lockers was to hug you, hug you so close and tight you could barely breath as he thanked you for coming.

- “You r-really thought I w-would miss this???”

- “........Baby I can’t b-breath.”

Kageyama Tobio

-Flustered babyyyy.

-He will never get used to seeing you in his clothes.

-You have worn his hoodies before and he has had a heart attack every time.

-It reached a point where you thought that he hated seeing you in them and you stopped asking for his hoodies or jackets even if you were cold.

-That caused the frown on his face to deepen and a very shy confession that he indeed loved seeing you in his clothes.

-Ever since that day you always have at least one of his hoodies in your closet.

-Now your relationship is a secret.

-Considering who his teammates are, you both agreed that it would be wise to keep your relationship under wraps, neither of you want to go through their reaction in this lifetime at least.

-Keeping that in mind, you never wore his clothes out in public so you wouldn’t draw unwanted attention to you.

-You go to all his games of course, being his best friend before becoming his girlfriend does that to a person, plus he had convinced you to become a manager alongside Yachi.

-So even if you wanted to skip a game you couldn’t.

-Now that you think of it this must have been part of his plan since now he can be near you all the time.

-You couldn’t bring yourself to be even remotely mad at him, he was just too cute.

-You were so proud of your boys for making it to nationals that you decided to hype them up a bit.

-Convincing both Yachi and Kiyoko you stole three jerseys from the team while they were changing before you took your seats in the sidelines.

-Many would think that you wearing Kageyama’s jersey was a mere coincidence.

-You chose him because he is your best friend, not because something else was going on.

-Sugawara and Tsukishima aren’t most people and you soon found yourself in some hot water with those two.

-Apart from the fact that Kageyama couldn’t look your way without having a stroke, he whipped the floor with the other team, gasps and applause filling the stadium every time he dunked the ball on the other side of the court.

-It got to the point where the other less observant member of the team started noticing the significant difference in his attitude.

- “Kageyama why are you playing so aggressively the ball keeps going like WOOSH and BAM without me even hitting it.”

-Poor boy almost chocked on his water at Hinata’s words and when you went to help him he turned 50 shades of red in a matter of 0.0005 seconds.

-This whole charade ended with your relationship being exposed after Noya begged you to wear his jersey and Tobio wasn’t having it, three nosebleeds and a whole lot of teasing.

-He moved to your room that night despite the fact that the third years kept teasing him about being safe and wrapping it before tapping it.

-Held a small grudge for like five minutes.

Miya Osamu

-Love of my life number 20.

-The superior twin and this will make it evident.

-Atsumu is always being a little shit about your relationship and how you don’t look like a couple cuz you don’t make out in the hallways all the time.

-Em sir excuse you!

-Anyways, you know to ignore him at this point figuring that he’ll get tired and stop but no such luck; he irritates Osamu to no end resulting in one of them needing bandages at the end of practice.

-PDA is not something you are both comfortable with and you prefer small reassuring touches throughout the day.

-This has led to many believing that you two aren’t a couple just like Atsumu says and other people have confessed to you or asked you out WHILE Osamu is with you.

-It doesn’t bother him much since he trusts you but it still tugs at his insecurities.

-And because of those insecurities you get a new wardrobe.

-Literally a whole ass new clothing line made by none other than Osamu Miya himself.

-What is in this new clothing line you ask?

-Osamu’s hoodies and shirts in general.

-Every time he stops by your house he brings a new item of clothing with him, something that he has worn recently and others have seen just to get his message across.

-You aren’t complaining, you love wearing his clothes, they are always so big and they completely swallow you plus they smell like him.

-It’s like you have him with you.

-Now Osamu might not show it often but volleyball stresses him out, like a lot.

-It means the world to his brother and despite their fights and bickering, he loves seeing him happy and if that means he has to play the sport like his life depends on it so be it.

-Osamu would do anything for Atsumu.

-So you can understand the pressure he is under as a spiker.

-His distress is you basically and you give him a small pep talk right before he enters the court.

-Imagine his surprise and pure childish glee when he saw you making your way to him wearing his jersey.

-It reached just above your knee and it made you look so cute he wanted to bottle you up and keep you forever.

-Atsumu and Suna could be heard in the background teasing the living shit out of Osamu who remained frozen in place, the whole stadium turning into white noise as the only thing in his view, the only thing that mattered in that moment, was you.

-He noticed your glare as you told his brother off, saw the way you played with the hem of his jersey as you walked near him and the furrow of your brows when he didn’t answer your calls.

-Wordlessly he enveloped you in a tight hug, picking you off your feet and twirling you around a little bit much to the dismay of his fanbase in the stands.

- “Hi.” “Hey ‘Samu”

- “Whatcha wearin?”

- “Oh this old thing? I figured you might need the motivation.”

although he’ll always joke about how amazing you are in comparison to him but he genuinely admires you 🤩

Kōtarō Bokuto

he hypes you up to his team constantly

they’ve literally never even met you and they are being asked all these questions from bokuto lol

‘hey onaga, did you see (y/n) at their nationals game the other day?’

onage flinched upon being jump-scared by his captain, then choked out a little white lie, ‘uh yeahhh.’

bokuto’s face lit up, ‘great! they were so amazing during the third set, weren’t they? what was your favourite part?’

onaga froze, ‘uhh- oh, i think i hear anahori calling me to help him practise his sets! gotta go.’ then he proceeded to bolt off

bokuto shrugged it off at first as he shouldn’t complain bc a teammate dropped a conversation to continue training with anahori - i mean, onaga came to volleyball club to practise so he wasn’t obligated to make conversation with bokuto

but while he was saying his goodbyes to everyone as they left the gym to go home, it hit him-

‘bye, komi! buh-bye, washio! and goooodbyeeee, konoha.’ bokuto let out a relived sigh as he had now finished saying his partings which meant he could lock the gym then go home, ‘wait-- ANAHORI DIDN’T EVEN COME TO PRACTISE TODAY! ONAGA!’

bokuto was deeply disheartened that his own teammate would lie to him - to get out of a conversation about you, no less

he just wanted them all to love you as much as he does

he’d show up to all of your games wearing your jersey and some of the eagle-eyed press would try talk to him

they’d interview him about his own affair or about the MSBY Black Jackals but he genuinely has no interest in talking about that bc today is your day and he is here to support you

‘are you and your team hopeful to attend Olympics despite player Miya’s rumoured injury? and disclose whether these rumours are factual?’

sakusa decked atsumu after he joked about having covid-

the interview shoved and waved a microphone in bokuto’s face while he just stared at them blankly like ◉_◉

after a while bokuto stuffed a handful of popcorn in his mouth and chuckled, ‘don’t know! but the game is about to begin, shhh!-’ he hushed the interviewer, instinctively swatting the microphone away as he stood up in the stands to cheer for you, ‘WOOOO! GO, (Y/N)!’

then he turned to the interviewer who stood frozen with a dumbfounded look on his face, ‘THAT’S MY LOVERRRR!’ he screamed into the microphone so loudly that all the press naturally backed off

and please do the same for him when the press approach you at his games 🙏

he is such an ushijima

he is ushijima if he wasn’t left-handed

he doesn’t really brag about you too often at practise but he feels so proud when you win a game then he comes to practise the next day and his teammates tell him to pass on a congratulations

also he always comes to your games

no matter how minor or how large

you’d think you could both bond a lot over volleyball and you did that in the beginning

but over time - especially when you started playing volleyball professionally - you found other things to bond over and saved volleyball for work

he probably runs a (y/n) stan page AEIVBARTBV

AND YOU’D NEVER GUESS

like he is literally a rice farmer- you are under the impression that he doesn’t even know what facebook is

and he’s good at selling the act too

‘did you see the picture of us i posted on my instagram?--’ you asked, taking another spoonful of your cereal

then as soon as you exit the room, he’ll log onto his (y/n) twitter stan account

anyway he ALWAYS tries to ensure that the first thing you eat after a big game is something that he cooks

again, when you and oikawa first started dating, volleyball was one of the only things y’all talked about

but now that you were both doing it professionally, it was basically banned in your home

well, the the game itself wasn’t banned but i mean, why would you do something all day then come back to talk about it more?

you both might adore volleyball but everything has it’s limits lol

anyway, oikawa is another one that is extra af when they come to your games

he probably makes a sign and paints his face in your team colours

and when you come out onto the court, he’ll blow you a kiss and if you don’t blow one back he’ll be so offended lmao

bc he always makes a big deal out blowing you a kiss or winking at you as soon as he steps out onto the court

it’s basically a thing he does for good luck at this point

also, if there are ever ppl trying to take pictures of y’all in public- oikawa is the first to make a big show for them

like he’s all up on you

he’ll dip you then push his lips against you for a passionate kiss, in front of the ppl and they always go fkn crazy

he thinks he is like..Beyoncé famous...which he is not

please humble him

but nicely

but y’all only get attention around summertime when you are frequently playing big games

like if oikawa leaves the house a week you competed in a big game- he’ll literally get swamped with ppl asking about you

but contrarily, if you both leave the house in winter literally no one would even spare you a glance

on a RARE occasion, someone might sneakily snap a photo but that’s it

so you get the best of both worlds :))

also, if you’re an ace and he’s ever feeling down, if you ask him to set for you for a bit and you compliment one/all of his sets, he’ll literally feel so much better

Kiyoomi Sakusa

sometimes you both come back from a rough day at work, slump on the couch and watch TV together

after showering, changing, dinner etc

he’s not nna come anywhere near you if he thinks there is a chance he might be stinky from practise

he turned on the TV and it just so happened to be on an Live volleyball game in some language that neither of you understood

he’d snake his arms around your shoulders and pull you close to his chest, satisfied by your synced breathing

he’d press a single kiss against your jaw before shifting his attention onto the channel

you’d lay there in his arms, both of you seeming content in each other’s presence while watching the game

in reality though, neither of you were actually absorbing anything that was happening on the court - you were just staring blankly at the TV

the TV simply served as background noise to your cuddling

tbh he was way more interested in hearing the sound of your heart beat peacefully against his chest

after a while, if he gets bored, he might finally break the silence by inquiring about your day

but if he doesn’t, you’d probably end up falling asleep in his arms, forcing him to sleep on the couch bc he’s doesn’t want to risk moving and waking you up 🥺

anyway, he’s another one that likes to save volleyball for work then leave it by the door as soon as you step inside the house

but he’s not as uptight about it as oikawa or kita

like he’ll happily put on a volleyball match for you guys to watch if he thinks the player’s techniques are impressive

also, if the weather is nice, if you ask him to come out and practise with you for a bit and he’ll say yes 🤠

but actually 🤔 now that is think about it, if you guys had a pool in your back garden sakusa would definitely make the most of it

you’ll humbly ask him spike for you on a nice sunny day and he’ll be like

The setter saw Y/N walk away holding hands with her son while she lifted her girl in her other arm. The clicking of heels echoed off the wall and Atsumu almost snorted, he remember that you claimed you couldn’t walk in them but I guess you can now. Jamie was walking next to her as well. What are the odds?

“Hey Tobio, you’re cousins with her right? She told me she was a manager for a volleyball team in highschool but I never saw her during any summer camps we had together.” Kuroo spoke up. “Ohh she lived in Hyogo at the time! She was manager for Atsumu’s team.” Hinata spoke up. “Ah Inarizaki? No wonder I didn’t see her. I would have made a move if I did.” He muttered. “She would have said no.” Atsumu and Hinata said at the same time. They looked at eachother and Kuroo raised a brow. “Why would she say no?” He asked curiously.

“She was pregnant!”

“She broke up with our middle blocker.”

“Boke Hinata! Don’t just tell your Senpai’s business like that!” Tobio smacked him in the back of his head but Atsumu stood there stunned. Okay he saw the kids but he didn’t know how old they were exactly. But he didn’t think she was pregnant during nationals.

“But in all honesty Kuroo-San, she didn’t know she was pregnant but supposedly she broke up with her ex boyfriend a little bit before nationals.” Hinata tried explaining more to fix the situation and Tobio was pretty pissed. He’s so used to Y/N getting shunned or tsked by family members and random people because she got pregnant before her last year of highschool. He’s not sure if Kuroo would do the same thing.

“Wait—so that means Suna is the dad?” Atsumu gasped, finally putting the pieces together and Tobio gave him a glare. “So what if he is? Piece of shit didn’t even answer the phone when she called a week before she was due. She had to do everything alone. She moved alone, worked long hours to provide for those kids and clawed her way through the seasons in order to get where she’s at. And I’m damn proud of her. Now if you excuse me. I believe we need to warm up.” Tobio said and bumped shoulders with the opposing setter before walking away with Ushijima and Hoshiumi following behind.

“Wait so Suna is that one guy that was number ten and had the funny looking bangs right?” Hinata asked and Atsumu nodded and Hinata’s eyes widened. “Kuroo-San, a lot of people judged and treated Y/N-senpai bad because she made a mistake. Do you think of her any different?” Hinata told him and Kuroo shrugged, “I’m interested in her because I think she’s pretty cool and hot, so what if she has kids? They seem cool too.” Kuroo said and walked passed the black jackals to the gym. He definitely wanted that milf action.

Atsumu immediately flipped out his phone and started typing in the old groupchat that hasn’t been opened in years.

He put his phone away and joined his teammates for warmups. There you were sitting with your co-commentator. And he was explaining something while you nodded and pointed to one side of the court to the other. He noticed your stares as they warmed up and made your way down to see your kids one last time before the game. They were talking to another small boy who had the number 5 jersey of Tobio’s team.

“H-hello!” You told Tobio’s teammate in English, he was Nicollas Romero and so freaking gorgeous. Would he mind having another two kids? Haha jk...unless...? You never really found older men attractive but damn. He’s hot. He was squatting down, eye level with your son as they talked. He looked up and he gave a bright smile “Oh hello, you must be their lovely mother? And you must be Tobio’s cousin. ” He said in English with his thick accent. “Y-yes, sorry if they’re causing you trouble. My son has a habit of doing that.” You said and he stood up. You almost fainted, he’s so freaking big and he was towering over you.

“Oh no, I just wanted to meet my son’s new friends. They’re sweet kids. You raised them right.” He smiled softly and you smiled back. You both looked down at seeing the three kids tossing a volleyball to eachother and you sighed. “Excuse me ma’am, can we take a picture of you, Romero and your children. It’ll look so cute!” A photographer said excitedly. “W-We’re not together.” You stuttered and tried to fan your flushed face. “What is he saying?”Romero asked. Oh yeah the photographer probably only knows Japanese.

“He wants a photo of me and you with the kids. I think he thinks we’re a couple. But I told him we’re not.” You told him in English. “We’re not a couple but surely we can take a picture together? My son would be happy to look back at this when he’s older. And I’m sure your children as well.” He said and you nodded. “Rini, Akira. Come here. We’re gonna take a photo.” You told your kids as Romero called his son over. The photographer told you to pose so the three kids stood in front with Rubens in the center, Rini on his left and Akira on his right. You stood behind Akira with Romero’s arm around your waist. (He asked for permission after the photographer kept insisting) and you leaned your head against his shoulder and you all smiled. The next pose the photographer asked for was you and Romero squatting next to your kids as you all hugged and they rocked their Alders jersey. Is this a regular photo or a family photo?

Earlier Rini cried that he wanted to wear his #12 MSBY jersey and Akira wanted to wear her #13 one. Akira is usually the calm and collected twin but her eyes watered as she cried that Miya would never notice her and now they will never get married and you put a stop to that quick. You told her he was too old and by the time she was old enough to marry him he’d be all ugly and wrinkled and she shivered in disgust.

You were obviously exaggerating but you don’t want your daughter falling for boys like him.

When you pulled away to give your babies another kiss, Rubens asked for a kiss too so you chuckled and kissed his cheek as well he had a red lipstick stain and he was blushing like crazy. They all ran back to their seats to eagerly wait for the game to start. You had a feeling someone was watching you but you brushed it off. It’s not the first time you get looks of disgust when people find out your a mom at so young. You carefully hugged Romero out of respect and you tried to not get makeup on his jersey but he played it off cool and gave you a head pat before returning to his locker room. Jamie was right there in her seat smirking and making a thrusting motion to “get some.” You rolled your eyes and gave a thumbs up to Hinata and one to Tobio. You made your way to the commentators stand where they started to wire you up.

Now on Jamie’s list for you, you had bachelor number one, Kuroo, and bachelor number two, Romero. But little did she know ex boyfriend and bachelor number three saw the whole thing and his heart was broken to pieces.

You talked to Osamu about your relationship with his brother and you want Atsumu to make a move honestly; you want to be sure he wants this since you’ve literally liked him since high school

You’re not sure what you are expecting, but when Atsumu has you in his arms, your back against his chest and his chin on your shoulder as you watch the Christmas carolers, you don’t expect him to whisper into your ear,

“hey, will ya be my girl?”

You turn around to give him a surprised look, his hand bringing yours to his mouth to plant a soft kiss on your knuckles this is his favorite place to kiss fight me

After getting over your dream-like shock, you say yes and pull him into a kiss

I’m crying he tells you afterwards that you were his girl since the first time he met you, we’ll let him have this one because did he really know until like a week ago? no
