the maister system and the new 'find vocations out in the world' system is...ok, but I prefer the old colour system

#saint plays dd2 #like coming in as someone who knows nothing abt how DD:O worked DD2's vocation system feels like a major step back #95% of the augments are useless and aren't worth using so there's no real build variety anymore #nor is there any real weight to choosing what to run in terms of combat effectiveness and QoL stuff like carry weight anymore #bc there's only like 5-8 augments worth taking bc the stat bonus are insultingly low for the effort of leveling the vocation #and the colours feel arbitrary bc it's not a tree system anymore. thief is green bc it's green and there's no hybrid green #whereas in DD1 every base vocation had a hybrid colour mix and it made logical sense #strider (yellow) and mage (blue) became a magick archer. strider and fighter (red) doubled down on the melee and became assassin. #while keeping the bow as a sidearm. #pure red became warrior and dumped the shield for 2h colossal but slow attacks. pure blue sacrificed utility for highest tier damage spells #and so on. it just felt so much more intuitive and felt like actual growth when you could 'upgrade' to a hybrid vocation bc #you actually needed to have X number of ranks in both colours before you could take it whereas in 2 they're all just standalone classes #and the meister skill systems are....ok. I don't know how I feel abt all of them being connected to optional sidequests you can fuck up #or straight up just miss bc this game still has the weird design flaw of having points of no return where quests autofail #also like I feel to get the meister skill either you or your pawn should actually have like. maxed the vocation out. #like it feels weird when I get magick archer and then immediately unlock the meister skill at the same time #when I haven't even bought the vocation yet.

hi guys here's my weekly update for y'all about the GTA5 RP streams ive been watching constantly!

the government of los santos is planning on starting a war with a sovereign nation just off the coast of san andreas called the sanguine isles because the nation has been trafficking weapons and supplying gangs within los santos with guns and literal WMDs that have taken so many lives and destroyed entire buildings.

this all started because at first the PD decided to infiltrate sanguine by putting an undercover spy on the island and having him worm his way into the island's militia inner circle. he got heavy amounts of intel on everything and provided this intel directly to the commissioner of the PD and to the director of the detective agency of the PD.

recently, after about 2-3 months of UC work and intel gathering, his cover was blown after the agent was spotted by allies of the sanguine isles while on the mainland for his uncle's funeral (his uncle being the previous commissioner who set up this whole op) and was recognized.

it wasnt immediate recognition and there was a lot of doubt as to whether divine (the cop) and jamie (his undercover identity) were the same person, but it really all got fucked up last night when yaeger (the leader of the sanguine isles) was called by shelby (one of the new commissioner's fiance) because she was pissed the commissioner was focused on work (the spy possibly being in danger bcus he decided to go back to the island) instead of wedding planning and asked him directly if divine (the cop) was in danger. this directly confirmed to yaeger that jamie (the undercover ID) and divine (the cop) were the same person.

divine, having learned how his cover was blown, went full scorched earth because he's severely mentally fucked up from his time on the island. he snitched on the PD to yaeger. then he refused to leave the island and told everyone he was joining yaeger.

bundy (senior park ranger) was called in for legal advice and help with a possible assassination attempt. he managed to talk down the commissioners of PD and the director of detectives from pulling a full on CIA operation that involved infiltrating the island and assassinating divine. because that would've basically been the state of san andreas declaring war on the sanguine isles.

instead, bundy (senior park ranger) invoked legislation written months ago because divine also has a warrant out for his arrest (he shot someone in the head for pissing on his uncle's grave) and the legislation is very clear that if someone on the island has a warrant, then los santos/san andreas has every right to go to the island to apprehend this individual and yaeger has to cooperate and assist them in the apprehension or else it is considered a violation of international law and possibly a declaration of war against the state of san andreas.

bundy (who is, i cannot emphasize this enough, a park ranger who is just a senior patrol officer.) basically came in to what was about to be an international incident that would lead to san andreas being seen as the aggressors and turned it completely around to the point where the sanguine isles are now violating international law and san andreas military has every right to invade them.

Currently rereading ATLOP and thinking about Percy showing Jason Avatar to help him with his air bending (do they have cable in New Rome? Would Jason have even seen it or would he still be in the woods with Lupa when it was released?) or them bonding over learning to control their element by watching Avatar (Jason relating to Aang because of them both being the only airbender/child of Jupiter and having all this responsibility placed on their shoulders from a young age because of the way they were born). #its been almost a year since i last updated my ao3 :( #i did actually write a whole 8 chapter fic last summer but i wrote all of it in a notebook like i used to before The Curse #and i'm now slowly starting to type it into a google doc but i'm progressing at a snails pace #because my handwriting is borderline indecipherable even to myself #and its just a very rough first draft anyway so i need to do a lot of editing as i go along #neither of which would have been an issue pre-chronic illness and in fact kinda aided the whole process imo #but now that i'm on permanent low battery mode? really fucking sucks #atm i'm just trying to get the first chapter finished so i can post it and then i can see about the rest #but even that feels like a marathon #probably doesn't help that ive started another wip - which i'm actually really excited about! #but my motivation to write is much bigger than my energy :/ #i wrote like 250 words today and it felt like this huge achievement which is pretty sad compared to my writing pace like a year ago #but i'm trying to remember that i'm not competing against anyone. especially not against my healthy self #i still love writing and i will keep doing it even if it takes me a lot longer now #baby steps still mean i'm getting somewhere #writing #chronic illness #me/cfs #actually chronically ill

i keep having weird horror game nightmares

#one time i had a nightmare where i downloaded an app that put you in a randomized game during the nighttime. and you you couldn't delete it #without doing a ton of steps #and all of the games had different rules that you had to pay attention to or youd die. especially for ones with creatures in them #the last one i remembered had this thing that couldn't kill you as long as you were hidden and it didn't know and i was so terrified. i was #trying to delete the app forever but it tried to trick you into allowing the games to go on even if you deleted it. and once you did you #couldn't redownload it to get yourself out properly. i ended up being able to do it but i couldn't sleep the rest of the night because it #felt so real and i wasnt sure i had actually gotten out #and then yesterday night i had a dream i was selected by this weirdly religious like. 8 armed ball robot along with a group of other people #and it brought us to this house and it was fine for a bit but then things started happening and there ware rules. and there was another kid #there with me in this room and we had to hide under a blanket or else something would get you. and then it evolved so you also had to copy #the sound pattern it was making. but for that one there was also a different girl there was was definitely part of the house that i didn't #trust. and then there was this other thing where if you weren't tucked in this tall lady would eat you. and i was barely tucked in because #she came out of nowhere and i thought i was going to die but by some weird glitch it registered as tucked. but she leaned over me and tucke #me in properly and i was so sure she was going to kill me and she'd be all up close doing it. and i had this feeling constantly that the #robot was still around out there watching and it terrified me more than anything else #the last thing i remember from that wad waiting for the tall lady to make her rounds again but i woke up. and like again i wasnt all that #sure it didn't happen and then my mom checked up on me and it freaked me out dhfhdjsjkd #anyway i dont like dreaming #personal posts and stuff idk

There are too many individual topics in chapter 8 of my fic, and I keep trimming and relocating and summarizing topics and it keeps being over 9000 words long and I wouldn't be mad about that except for all the topics. It's chaotic! There are too many topics!
