The fact that I can click a couple buttons on a computer and transport myself to a completely different location in the world is something that still enamors me. . There are times I take photographs and completely forget that the day ever existed. . My mom hasn’t really been able to leave her house in months. I know it’s for her safety — especially since she’s someone at risk in this pandemic. From grocery runs to visits from her porch, it’s been hard not to see my mom. I think about how we had planned to go to Japan at this time and how much she wanted to be with me in a place that amazes me and makes learn something each every time I visit it. She also wanted to travel with me and my father to the places that I keep telling her about, and Japan is one of them, despite her health condition she wanted have moments with her beloved family and drinking tea in a stretching garden in Okinawa, she's basically amazed by the places I visited so far and I wish can take her and my father to every single place I've been to so far. So as travelers grounded, even though I can’t take her with me for a little while longer, all I could think was to try. For my birthday all I wish for is to be with them soon. I can’t help but think of a quote a close friend of mine said when mentioning his business. The quote goes, “This place was put together with ‘Hopes, dreams, and duct tape.” When starting out building ones own business, you can’t help but look around at others and wonder how they got there. This winter has been hard on me since I’ve realized how much of a sun baby I am. I’ve never realized how much the sun effects my mood until I’ve consistently gone without it for weeks and weeks on end. What I’ve learned about myself is that my happy place and the place I love to spend my morning is outside sitting in the sun. Whether it’s having coffee or breakfast, with those I love, or even simply just being. I’ve yet to know how to harness this energy or keep this consistency of sun — but either way you can find me happily under the sun. You’re not going to capture everything. You just aren’t. You can’t! Trust me, it’s better that way. . We’re taught to snap “the best part” and even influenced to stage what some consider highlights. I know some go against the grain to get the low points, or to photograph what’s “real”, but in all honesty there’s just so so much in-between. . For those who try to capture it all, what I recommend is.. Try to experience first, then get your shot. With everyone capturing our lives consistently and constantly.. Hi lovely people 👋🏻 It's been a while... Glad to be back here and I have a lot to share in the coming weeks 😉♥️ #TheRetroStyleSalad . I think what you do for work should bring you happiness. Regardless of where you are in your job or career.. I believe your day to day should bring you happiness, fulfillment and ease at the end of the day. Not necessarily all day every single day, but at least overall. I know so many where it is the opposite. Don’t get me wrong, what I do isn’t easy. But what I can say for a fact is being able to do what I love at a desk, in the mountains, in a different country or even in a field of flowers is what I love most about what I do. The fact I get to create photographs, filmmaking, capturing data or just using science for people and the brand, to create a vision or dream means the absolute world. It may not make me happy all day every day, but it does indeed make me ever so happy to where some days I have to take a second to remind myself where I am. I know what I do is worth the hard work for the end result and I hope what you do gives you what my job gives me. Fulfillment.
