Well she did it! Sarah made it through to Honored Dancer @adrenalinedanceinc for Nationals in July! Plus she got to perform in her first City Crew that is when the chosen kids from the competion get to perform at the end! All the kids at her dance studio @theindustrydanceacademy did great! The kids all so work hard! Three days of competing and taking class with some of the best teachers and choreographers in the biz! I am very proud of her and thankful to @theindustrydanceacademy and the parents as they are all so kind and supportive! She loves being in her happy place and she is getting really very good! I always believe versatility is the key especially in this new world! The level of choreography is so high now! Sarah actually choreographed her own solo this year. Hopefully she will be performing it @revive_dance_convention in two weeks! Personally I think her real gift is for choreography because what she choreographed is very impressive for a 12 year old! She will be auditioning for @thejoffreyballet this weekend for the Summer Program! Just doing my best to get her flying towards her dream! I just keep telling her ballet is the base for everything! It just makes you stand out when you have great technique! I think she is finally beginning to listen to her crazy mom! A big thank you to those that believe in her and are helping her to do this. My baby girl @_sarahherz has been counting the days until today where she was fitted “properly” for her very first pair of real point shoes! I think she has caught the ballet bug big time! She gets it because I have told her many times to be a great dancer you must have a strong ballet base and I think naturally she has a gift for ballet but she is very good at it all! Lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theater & ballroom, she is going to be a very versatile dancer indeed plus one of her teachers at @louisarmstrongmiddle says she should be acting. They think she is very funny and could play 8 because she is so petit for 12. I am so grateful she has so many great teachers around her that believe in her, great family support and a great dance studio that she goes to every day after school and on the weekends. A very special and happy place that I know she is thriving at, feels safe and has some of the best dance teachers in LA introducing her to the great world of dance @theindustrydanceacademy So now my big girl @ema.nathan has left her mama’s nest and is doing great! College, working, playing goalie Division 1 waterpolo at Long Beach! Thank God! Now got to get this little birdie flying high too! She is definitely on the right path if she keeps working hard! She definitely has great people around her! A big believer you become what you see and hear! Very, very early Saturday morning master classes @adrenalinedanceinc at LAX Hilton. Sarah loved it! She kept up with the choreography pretty well this time too. It is only her 2nd time doing this her first time was @radixdance and she was a little overwhelmed by how fast the choreography can be! It’s a big difference going from gymnastics the same routines for years then go into “the dancer pick up the choreography fast mode” the brain has to work big time! Your technique has to be there! For her first year of dance she is getting the hang of it! This Summer my little girl discovered a true love of dance @theindustrydanceacademy (I wonder where she gets that from?) So this September she will be starting dance another new chapter! I did not want her to quit gym totally (as she has worked so hard at it) so we have decided to focus on learning optional skills @mediacitygymnastics She has started working on her new beam routine, has her floor routine choreographed and I even saw her do a cast to handstand on the bars and a straight armed kip for the first time ever and that is in just 3 three hour classes! I was impressed! So the plan is she will work really, really hard and compete in January score out of Gold and do Platinum then we will see! I think with the combo of “both” dance and gym she will do really well. Just my gut feeling! She is like her mom gets bored easily! So to keep kids interested you have to keep it FUN find ways to keep the passion in their belly burning! Fuel the fire! That’s when kids learn best and do well I truly believe that! It worked for my big girl Ema as she is now playing Division 1 College Waterpolo and is becoming a truly great goalie @pacificwaterpolo I did not even know but she won 4 College Waterpolo Awards for her goalie playing this year and that has motivated her to believe in herself even more. She has even now shown interested in 2024? She has 3 citizenships US, French and Australian so who knows? I said if you see it in your mind and really work hard “anything is possible” but you have to want it! What you put in is what you get out! She is only 18 and it’s up to her but I know she could do it if wants it! I can tell you playing waterpolo goalie is hard work! My little girl could definitely be quite a good “versatile” dancer! She seems to love all the styles! She is doing a Summer Program @theindustrydanceacademy and seems to really love it! This month she is going to have to make a big decision to keep doing gymnastics or to start serious dance! She needs a year of serious ballet training! She never wanted to listen to her mother! I really don’t want her to quit gym yet but I know she is loving the dance! She loves the music I think! She is so like me that way! Music was what always motivated me to dance!
