Wizardess Heart OC: Berry Linette
Tumblr media
Back at ya with another Wizardess Heart OC! First of Season 3, hope you like!
“I’ll do what I can to assist you... and that’s a promise.”
Likes: Plants and animals, working outside Dislikes: Spiders Hobby: Reading all kinds of books Skill: Great memory and impressive intelligence
By Liz: “I’ve known Berry for a while actually! We grew up in the same village and our circumstances were pretty similar, so I guess you could say we got along pretty well. I know she’s really clever, just not all that good at being sociable. That’s okay, though, because she’s a great friend regardless! Her magic seems pretty interesting, but I know she’s more interested in learning about it rather than learning to use it. She knows so much about magic, it’s actually really impressive! Maybe I could ask her to help me out some time?”
Birthday: 2nd February (Aquarius) Spirit Animal: Owl Friends: Nori Kahuna (Roommate), Yuelia Luminé, Liz Hart
So, Berry this time! Similarly to Clara, I finished her a couple of days ago but felt it was more appropriate to wait until her birthday! I really hope you like her. Berry was my profile picture for quite a while before I switched a few weeks ago. Berry was one of my first ever OCs and holds a special place in my heart, so I absolutely had to do her justice. Plus, I drew her just recently for New Years, so I knew this had to be better! I really hope it is, I really wanted to show I’d improved a bit lately haha She was surprisingly fun to draw actually! And here I thought she wouldn’t be done before the end of the week! Her line art came together much faster than normal, plus I did her colour palette ahead of time so she’d be easier to colour. I really hope you like her!
As my first and one of my favourite OCs, as well as the first of season 3, Berry is obviously paired up with Joel. I know canonically, Joel was Liz’s childhood friend and has feelings for her but cmon, this is a fanfic and I’m not gonna change much! He was still Liz’s friend, but he was also Berry’s too! So I’m just tweaking the story a little 😅 Plus, I think these two would be a really sweet match, without a doubt one of my favourites!

[Image ID: A chapter image done in the style of Wizardess Heart. A large, off-white imagine with a guy on it. He’s wearing a dark gray uniform. There’s a lavender bar over him that reads “Tsukasa Kuze.” The rest of the text reads “Main Story” and “Chapter 10-1: Hunting” /End ID]
Chapter summary: With little options, I have no choice but to go with Azusa and try and avert disaster.
I’m not doing well, so I won’t be attending classes today. I’ll see you after class. Love, Tsukasa.
The Magic Note came in as I got dressed. My stomach felt so sick reading it. He… He’s not ever going to get better, is he? Not unless we get that medicine. Or Azusa or I make a contract… What would I give a demon to make Tsukasa better? Heck, what would it even ask for? A lock of my hair? Some blood? My first-born child?
I walked into the kitchen. Aika and Isabelle were at the table, bowls of cereal in front of them. There was nothing on the stove and Dorian was nowhere in sight.
“We’re on our own for breakfast this morning,” Isabelle informed me.
“Where’s Dorian?” I asked.
“He’s looking for Azusa,” Aika said.
“Still?!”
“I guess?” Aika shrugged. “I don’t know. Dorian left around four this afternoon and he called me a few hours later and told me he couldn’t find Azusa so he was going to look for him.” My stomach knotted itself up.
“He might be at the Spring of Unicorns, but I don’t know why he’d be there now,” I told her. “He seemed so hellbent on having me help him and he told me we weren’t going to go there until four am.”
“I know Dorian looked around the dorms, but I don’t know if he’s checked the main building or not,” she said.
“He better not get too much attention,” Isabelle piped up.
“Dorian’s great a stealth. There’s no way he’s gonna be caught,” Aika reassured her. “I’m more worried about him not being able to find Azusa.”
“If anything, you’ll know where he is this morning,” I said, trying to look on the bright side of things.
“Yeah, but it’d be better for us to catch Azusa before he does anything,” Isabelle pointed out.
“I’ll call Dorian and give him the tip.” Aika quickly got up and left. Isabelle sighed, folding her arms across her chest.
“Are you really going to go through with this? Helping him… You know…” Her thumb made the throat-slitting motion.
“I mean, I don’t know. I don’t want to kill anything. But I don’t know if we can convince Azusa otherwise.”
“If worse comes to worse, Dorian can restrain him and you can make a contract with a demon or magical creature or whatever you want to save Tsukasa,” Isabelle said.
“We really depend on Dorian for everything, don’t we?” I sighed.
“Well, yeah. He’s taken care of Aika since she was yo- They were young. We joke about it, but he really does take care of us. He insists on it.” She took a sip of her coffee.
“Have you ever summoned a demon or a magical creature before?” I knew Aika and Dorian were into that sort of thing. Maybe Isabelle had experience with it. But she just gagged on her coffee.
“What? No. Summoning isn’t my specialty and the price of a contract is… Something that would open up a lot of mental wounds for me. How come?” she asked.
“I’m just worried if I have to do it. I don’t know what I’d sacrifice in order to save Tsukasa. I’d give anything to save him, but when it comes to picking that...”
“I get it,” she said with a nod. “It’s a big decision, you know? If you want my opinion, I’d do some research first and decide what kind of creature to summon first. If you do chose a demon, there’s a lot of subtypes. Incubi generally make contracts for firstborns or a bit of your soul, although I’ve heard some are really flexible with payment.”
“I don’t know if I’d want to summon a demon like that…” I don’t want to make a contract like that and besides, I don’t think Tsukasa would appreciate it if I made a contract like that even if I was willing.
“Personally, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Azusa’s stubborn, but he loves his brother and I’m sure Dorian will get through to him.” Isabelle smiled warmly at me.
“Yeah, but I don’t like depending on others,” I admitted. “Dorian shouldn’t have to do anything. I should be able to do everything on my own.”
“Oh, same,” Isabelle nodded. “But you have to realize this is something big. I feel like if you have someone willing to do the work for you or help you out, you should take it. No one should have to do things alone, you know?”
“But I’ve been depending on people ever since I got here. I haven’t done anything for myself,” I reminded her. Isabelle’s brow furrowed.
“What are you talking about? Of course you’ve done things on your own. Do you honestly think that other people have been doing your work for you? Even if people are helping you, your accomplishments and your growth are your own.” She sighed, taking another sip of coffee.
-----
I’d gotten used to walking to class on my own. But as I got to the elevator, I paused for a moment. I wondered how Tsukasa was doing. Usually he sent me a Magic Note in the morning, but it just occurred to my that I hadn’t heard from him. My body immediately started to move on its own. I needed to go check on Tsukasa.
The door to his room was opened slightly and I immediately pushed it open, only to for it to meet resistance.
“Don’t open it more. You’re going to knock me over.” Tsukasa’s voice came from the other side.
“Tsukasa?! Are you okay?” I wiggled through the small opening and found Tsukasa sitting on the ground, clutching a trash can to his chest. I immediately knelt down beside him, pushing his hair out of his face. He heaved and stuck his head into the can, vomiting. I hurried over to his desk, grabbing the box of tissues and pulling some out for him. He took them and cleaned himself up.
“Sorry, I’m staying home today,” he said.
“Don’t worry about me. Do you need me to take you to the infirmary?” I asked him.
“No, it’s fine. I just need a moment.”
“Are you really sure? I don’t mind helping you down there.”
“Really, it’s fine,” he insisted. “Azusa told me he’ll be getting another batch of my medication and I’ll be fine in a few days time.” He gave me a soft smile, hand reaching out and cupping my cheek. Despite the comforting gesture, nausea came over me. “Don’t worry about me. It’s gonna be okay.”
“I know. Everything’s going to be okay.” I spoke the words, trying to believe in them. I wasn’t going to let Tsukasa die. I had to do something to save him. I was going to do something to save him. Tsukasa leaned against me, snuggling into my side. “What if I stay here with you today?” I posed the question carefully, glancing over at him.
“I’d like that, but are you sure? Is it going to stress you to skip classes today?”
“I’ve been doing a lot better in classes. I’m sure its fine.” I put my arm around him, trying to snuggle closer to him. He put the trash bin to the side and grabbed my hand.
“I’m really grateful for you. I hope you know that,” he told me. My heart melted.
“And I’m grateful for you. I’m so grateful we met.”
----
I glanced at the clock on the wall. If I was going to meet Azusa, I’d have to leave right now. Tsukasa and I had been laying on his bed for the past hour or so. Glancing down at Tsukasa, I saw he was still fast asleep. If it wasn’t for the steady rise and fall of his chest, I would’ve worried… Carefully, I climbed over his legs and got out of bed. As quietly as I could, I sneaked out of the room. Tsukasa would probably be upset when he realized I left, but this needed to be done.
Classes were still going on, so the hallways in the dorm were silent and empty. At least that was nice. I didn’t have to worry about getting caught playing hooky. In fact, everything seemed empty and quiet as I made my way into the forest and to mine and Azusa’s meeting spot. It was as if the whole forest was empty. There were no owls crying out, no insects making wretched sounds. Nothing.
As I approached the meeting spot, I could see a dark figure in the moonlight, a flashlight in its hand.
“Azusa?” I called out.
“What?” he responded, irritated. I sighed a breath of relief.
“Sorry, I couldn’t tell if it was you or not,” I told him.
“Whatever. Let’s go.” He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the spring. I wrenched my arm out of his grasp.
“You don’t have to hold onto me. I’m fine,” I told him. He said nothing. “Look, I’ve been thinking about this, and I have an idea. If the unicorn won’t give us a piece of its horn, I’m willing to make a deal with a demon -”
“A demon?” he interrupted. “You’re seriously saying you’d rather try and strike a deal with a demon than just killing an animal?”
“But we wouldn’t have to kill anything!” I protested.
“Why are you still hung up on that? I’ve already told you… Ugh, I’m not having this argument again. I hate repeating myself.”
“But it just makes more sense! Do you want to keep coming back here and killing unicorns every couple years or make a deal with something and have it done forever?”
“… You wouldn’t understand it,” he muttered. “I’m not going to rely on someone or something else. The only reason I brought you into this is because Tsukasa says you’re good with healing magic and I would assume you want him alive.”
“You don’t want to rely on people?”
“I just told you I hate… Are you trying to piss me off on purpose?!”
“No, no! That’s not it at all! I… I get it. I really do.”
“You’re so weird,” he said dismissively before heading into the spring. Was this how I looked to other people? Stubborn and leading myself down a difficult path for no reason? Not listening to reason? Even if Azusa refused to listen to me or anyone else, I knew how he felt.
I wasn’t sure if the feeling comforted or worried me. Uneasy, I stepped into the spring. A unicorn was already by the water, but I couldn’t tell if it was the same one Azusa and I talked to.
“Hello?” I called out.
“Ugh, you two again,” the unicorn sighed. I guess that answers that question. Jerk. “If you’re here to bargain with me, I stand by what I said earlier.”
“Are you really okay with letting someone die when you could have saved his life?” I challenged it.
“Do you really think I’m going to believe two strangers I just met? You’re probably lying,” he said dismissively.
“But do you want to take that risk? Do you want blood on your hands? Er, hooves?” I corrected myself. Azusa groaned.
“Be quiet. I’ll take care of this,” he told me, grabbing my shoulder. “Get ready to back me up if needed.”
“Azusa?!”
“Stand back or you’ll get caught in the magic circle,” he ordered.
“The what?!” He grabbed my arm and threw me away from the spring. I stumbled over my feet and fell to the ground. “Ow! Azusa, what the heck?!”
“封! (Fuu!)” he shouted, writing a symbol in the air. My stomach dropped as faint markings in the ground started to glow. It was happening. This was really happening.
“Azusa, stop!” I screamed at him, scrambling to my feet. There was a blinding light and I shut my eyes as I grabbed Azusa around the waist, hiding my face in his back.
“Get off me!” he yelled.
“No! Please don’t kill it! Just take part of the horn, please!” I pleaded.
“Stop being a baby,” he ordered me callously. “I’m taking care of everything. Just stand back and if I need healing, do it.”
His fingers dug into my arms and he wrenched my arms opened, pushing me away from him. The magic circle on the ground faintly glowed, and from some of these lines stood what looked like large slabs of glowing crystal. The unicorn was desperately rearing back, crashing onto the slabs, trying to break it. Azusa leaned down, taking his backpack off and leaving it at my feet.
“Get ready to help me with the butchering. I can’t do that alone,” he told me. Bile rose in my throat at the mental image. Azusa approached the crystalline cage and I was scrambling to my feet, reaching for my wand. But as I raised to attack Azusa, I froze. What if Azusa was right? What if this was the only way?
… No, this isn’t the way…
Tsukasa’s medicine only kept him healthy for a few years. If we went down this road, Azusa would have to kill unicorn after unicorn after unicorn. And what if we couldn’t get access to one? What happened when we killed the last one? What happened when we had no medicine to give Tsukasa? This wasn’t sustainable. This wasn’t a long-term solution.
“O sacred water, become a piercing arrow! 'Sagitta Aqua!'" I cried. A large arrow of water went flying through the air and hit Azusa squarely in the back. He cried out in pain, stumbling forward. He froze, then slowly turned to my. My stomach churned as his rage-filled face glared at me. I tried to stand my ground. “I told you, we’re not killing it.” My voice shook. Azusa took one step towards me, then another. I stumbled back.
“I knew I couldn’t trust you,” he said, voice dangerously low. He lifted his hand, starting to write something in the air. I readied my wand, ready to bring up a shield. “炎! (En!)” A bolt of fire came roaring towards me.
“Suctum Aqua!” I quickly brought up a shield and stood my ground, digging my feet into the ground. The flame pushed against my shield, but I kept it up. Even if they were getting extinguished from my shield, seeing flames right in front of your eyes was terrifying.
Suddenly, the flames disappeared and I heard Azusa scream. My shield dropped and I saw Dorian, arm raised, entering the clearing, Aika and Tsukasa following behind him.
“Tsukasa?!” Through my shock, I somehow managed to run over to him, taking him in my arms. “What are you doing here?! You need to be at home, resting!”
“Aika told me what’s going on. I couldn’t let them come for you on their own,” Tsukasa said, pushing some hair behind my ear.
“Tsukasa…” As glad as I was to see him, I couldn’t help but worry about his health and how he was feeling right now. Dorian put his arm down and Azusa choked for air, chest heaving violently.
“Our baby Unus transfer told us everything and we told Tsukasa everything. Let’s talk this out, Azusa,” Aika said gently, approaching him.
“There’s… There’s no other way…” he insisted.
“This isn’t sustainable. What happens when we can’t find a unicorn? We need another solution. Please, if you won’t listen to me, listen to them!” I begged him.
“None of you understand what I’ve been through!” he shouted. “If killing a unicorn is the only way to save Tsukasa, then so be it!”
“Hey, we’re all here for you,” Aika said gently, grabbing his arm. “We can all put our heads together and figure something out.”
“Shut up!” he screamed. She trembled and immediately took a few steps back, body shaking. “I’ve tried everything and this is the only thing that will work!”
“Oh, really? You’ve really gone through every possible solution? I find that hard to believe,” Dorian called him out, crossing his arms over his chest. Azusa glared at him.
“Oh, you’re really going to be like that?” he asked dangerously. He raised his hand and I moved in front of Tsukasa, ready to throw up another shield. But in an instant, Tsukasa moved in front of me, storming over to Azusa.
“That’s enough!” Tsukasa yelled.” They’re just trying to help you! We’re trying to help you! You’ve always been like this, insisting you can do everything by yourself. You’re so stubborn! Can’t you just accept our help How will it hurt you if you get help from us?”
“How many times do I have to repeat myself?!” Azusa roared. “There’s no other way. It’s you or the unicorn! And I’m not losing you! You’re all I have left! You have no idea what I’ve been through! I don’t care if I have to kill every unicorn on this damn planet. I will save you. I won’t let you die again!”
Everything froze.
Die… Again…?
Azusa’s face crumbled. He took a few steps toward Tsukasa, who stepped away.
“What are you talking about?!” Tsukasa demanded, voice shaking. Azusa remained silent. “I… Azusa, what are you talking about?!”
“I promised our parents I would do everything to keep you safe. I couldn’t let you die. I couldn’t let you stay dead,” Azusa said quietly.
“You’re crazy! You’ve completely lost it!” Tsukasa shouted. His shoulders started shaking. I hurried over to him and embraced him. His knees buckled and his full weight dropped into my arms. Carefully, I sat down with him. Azusa sprinted over to us, kneeling in front of Tsukasa and I.
“The past doesn’t matter,” Azusa said. “You’re alive now and I’m going to do whatever it takes to keep you alive. Even if you hate me, you’re still my brother and I’ll do anything to keep you safe.”
“Why... Why didn’t you tell me?!” Tsukasa demanded.
“I thought it would be best if you didn’t know,” Azusa replied. Part of me couldn’t fault him on that, seeing what was happening now.
“But it’s my life! I deserve to know what’s going on!” Tsukasa retorted.
“You want to know the truth?”
“Yes!”
Azusa sighed, sitting down by us. Defeated. Exhausted.
“It happened when you caught cholera,” he began. “I tried everything to save you, but when you…” He swallowed hard. “I couldn’t accept it. You were just fourteen. I’d promised our parents I’d keep you safe and I failed. So I searched for a way to bring you back. A merchant had a unicorn carcass on his hands and I was willing to shell out for it. The horn and some magic I learned from a visiting Gedonelunian woman did it.
“You came back to life. All I had to worry about was giving you your medication. As long as you were taking that, you’d stay alive. But then we moved and I thought things would be easier here for us. I’ve been trying to get bits of unicorn horns to give you the right dosage, but… I haven’t been able to. And without the medication, your body’s shutting down. That’s why we need to kill this unicorn. You’re dying and I refuse to lose you again.”
“Azusa…” Tsukasa whispered. We fell quiet. Tsukasa quietly sobbed and I just… I didn’t even know what to think. But Azusa’s desperation made even more sense now that I knew the truth. Even though I was relieved to hear Tsukasa wasn’t sick, it wasn’t like it mattered. Somehow, his body shutting down was worse. Illnesses had cures. Dying like this had very few.
“… Dorian,” Aika spoke up quietly. “I want to break our contract.”

5 Otome Men I Adore
Thank you so much @pseudofaux and @pickle-scribbles for tagging me! I had actually wanted to do something like this recently so it was perfect timing! (I had made something similar years ago but that was pre-LOVE365 and I’ve played so many otome games since then so my list needed major updating!) But picking 5 was so hard!!! I actually got to the first 4 easily but it was really hard picking the last one.
I started laughing while making this because it CLEARLY SHOWS what type of person I am... hahahahahaa 😅😅😅 If you read this let me know what you think of my list b/c I’m still laughing at myself! 😂 I know fully well many people will NOT agree with me on this but they are MY preferences so here we go!
1. Hiroki Eniwa (My Last First Kiss)
Tumblr media
Hirooooo ❤ I miss him so much! He was the first otome man I got OBSESSED with. I desperately wanted MC to finally get her man! It hurt (so well) every time he rejected her and broke up with her, which he does again and again and again throughout the series T_T. Hiroki is really special in my heart because he’s the one who first made me aware of how masochistic I am 🤣. I seriously had no idea until I kept being hurt by Hiroki but not understanding why I like him so much! Mr. Eniwa, you’re so cruel, but you know that already eh?
2. Azusa Kuze (Shall We Date? Wizardess Heart+)
Tumblr media
I seriously L.O.V.E. Azusa (and I know like 90% of the WH fandom will disagree with my sentiments 🤣). Oof, MC got banged against the tree so many times in his route and... um... *SPOILERS?!* died... many times by his hands... but I just really, really wanted to save this bad boy! (Oh, I meant banged like shoved and rough-handled, not shagged btw XD... unfortunately). I mean just LOOK at his face! How can you not fall for this beautiful bastard XD. Also, his route is THE BEST otome route (ending) I’ve ever read!!! Everything wraps up SO nicely and it is such an intense route! It is also the second otome story which made me legit CRY hot tears. I was SOBBING towards the end! (The first time I cried was from reading Kento from “A World Without You” so that doesn’t count XD. THIS route unexpectedly punched me in the feels!)
3. Hyogo Kaga (Her Love in the Force)
Tumblr media
Oh Kaga, Kaga, Kaga... yes yes, you are my master and I am your dog. I have never heard so many creative words to describe me before he showed up in my life: trashbag, dimwit, moron... the list would be far too long. He dishes out punishments and scowls like there’s no tomorrow but he’s really good at his job! He’s also a master of kabebon... and boundless energy in bed. One of the reasons HLITF is my favorite title from LOVE365 is because of this man. I mean, it is a GREAT title and all the men are amazing but... but... Hyogo Kaga.
(I’m using this pic that @pickle-scribbles described as “Kaga’s pussy wrecking look” pfffffft.)
4. Ota Kisaki (Kissed by the Baddest Bidder)
Tumblr media
Koro is me and I am Koro. *woof* I never realized I liked being treated like a dog until Ota rolled around. He’s extremely mischievous yet sweet?! Such a lovable BRAT. Whenever he sticks his tongue out, I die. I get frequent “I wanna read Ota!” moments so this man has such a big piece of my heart.
5. Yakumo Koizumi (Ayakashi: Romance Reborn)
Tumblr media
Is there anyone who does not know how much I love this professor?! I wonder if Yakumo is more obsessed with me or I am with him?! At this point, I’m not even sure. I liked him as soon as I laid my eyes upon him but guess my surprise when I found out he is a yandere?!?! HECK YES. Lock me uppppppppp. Never let me escape. I love the gentle air surrounding him that is clearly hiding something...
I’m just gonna tag my friends, even if they’re already tagged or done this before 😋: @rubyleeray @otonymous @all-my-cuffs-have-buttons @scrappingandyelling

Curiosity Killed the Cat - Wizardess Heart Fanfic
Pairing: Vain x female
Genre: Smutty smut
Words: 5969
A/N: This is a response to a request I got far too long ago. I hope it satisfies!!
Read here or on Ao3.
She sighed as she flopped back on the grass, staring up at the afternoon sky spattered with drifts of white clouds. It was a rare moment the three girls had seized to relax together in the academy courtyard, just for a little while, but listening to Liz babble on about her boyfriend, and Amelia fawning over falling in love, was not helping her mood. Love was not what she was craving then and there, but perhaps something a little more raw, more intimate, more risqué.
‘What’s the matter, hun?’ Amelia’s head popped into her view, leaning over to ask her the question.
She just gave another sigh and averted her eyes. ‘I don’t know,’ she murmured. ‘I just feel…’ Horny? Bored? Unsatisfied? In desperate need of a good hard bang? She searched her mind for the right word, but eventually settled on something a little more tame in the presence of her sometimes frustratingly prudish friends, ‘restless.’
‘Restless?’ Liz repeated. ‘In what way?’
Of course Liz would probe for more information. Liz was the main reason she held back her other choice words. If it had only been Amelia with her, she would’ve just admitted she was kinda horny and needed someone to fuck her brains out, but Liz would be horrified if she said that. She explained as politely as possible, ‘like I wanna see somebody. See a guy.’
‘Oh, a guy hey?!’ Amelia squealed with delight. Any mention of a boy and the girl lit up like a Christmas tree, eager to talk about any hot guys she knew. ‘Anyone in particular?’
She gave it a little thought, wondering who could possibly be the one she wanted to satisfy her right now. There was Ted, he was strong, silent, sexy. She loved the way his muscles flexed under his uniform, or even more so when he was ambling around shirtless sunning himself like the proud cat he was. Or there was that guy from the ministry, the one who loved teasing Klaus, Albert something-or-other. He was such a flirt, in a cheeky, gentlemanly way, and she wondered if he would live up to her expectations of him. Or there was Vain, he was so dark and mysterious. And gorgeous. She often caught herself fantasising about being cornered by him, trapped like a lamb led to slaughter. Would he be just as domineering, just as cunning and sneaky if he were trying to get her into bed? Just thinking about him made a tingle run through her body.
‘No,’ she answered, despite it being an obvious lie. ‘No one in particular.’
‘Really?’ Amelia asked, not fooled by her futile attempts to cover up her pathetic deception.
‘Really,’ she asserted. She just didn’t want to go into detail about all the guys she took a fancy to. Talking about how badly she wanted them wasn’t going to help her situation. All she wanted was a crazy, sexy, hot, one night stand. That would be enough. She voiced her thoughts out loud, asking her friends, ‘do you ever get the feeling like you just wanna go a bit wild? Do something crazy and have some fun?’
‘Wild?’ Liz repeated.
‘Crazy?’ Amelia questioned.
‘I don’t think so.’
‘All the time!’
Both girls answered at the same time, Liz giving her typical reserved response and Amelia’s face lighting up at the prospect of wild, crazy fun. She smiled at Amelia and murmured, ‘At least it’s not just me.’
Silence fell between them again as she gazed up at the sky. Where would she even find someone to satisfy her the way she needed? It was stupid to even think about it, let alone want it. It was never going to happen. She laughed at herself under her breath and murmured, ‘it sounds silly right?’
‘Not at all,’ Amelia objected. ‘If you want to have fun and do something wild and crazy, go for it.’
‘Just make sure you don’t get hurt,’ Liz added. ‘Or anyone else for that matter.’
She grinned up at Liz, forever looking out for other people’s safety and well being. ‘Of course not,’ she said with a patronising smile.
Wild and crazy fun…
The thoughts weren’t going to leave her. At least not until they were satisfied, or she found something new to occupy her mind. Laying around with the girls wasn’t helping anything though, and she needed some space to clear her head.
‘I think I’m gonna go for a walk,’ she announced as she jumped to her feet. ‘I just need to clear my head.’
‘Okay,’ Liz said with a wave. ‘We’ll see you back at the dorms for dinner.’
And with that she set off, back into the academy. Perhaps a stroll around the halls would do her some good.
Ten minutes of aimless ambling about the academy halls later, she still hadn’t found anything to reoccupy her mind, or anyone to satisfy her. Classes had finished for the day, and most people were back at the dorms by now, only a few stragglers heading to or from the library. She hardly even knew anyone she passed by, let alone would have the confidence to even talk to them. It was a hopeless cause.
She decided to call it a day, head back to the dorms and take a long hot shower, or maybe a very cold one. If she took a little nap before dinner maybe she could sleep away how she was feeling and get through the rest of the night without too much stress. As she wandered through the hallways though the sound of a door closing up ahead caught her attention.
Vain!
She stopped in her tracks, spotting the dangerously beautiful man up ahead. He had just left the Headmaster’s office and was strolling away from her, down the hall.
It was like it was meant to be.
She froze up, unsure of what to do. Could she approach him? Talk to him? Flirt with him? Even if she could manage all of that without making a complete ass of herself, what was the likelihood that she would ever get him in a bed? It was slim-to-none, but she couldn’t help her hope.
I wonder what he’s even doing here?
She followed him (he was heading the same direction she was after all), trying to think of something to say to him. Could she just ask what he was doing here? He looked a little suspicious, and he had come from the Headmaster’s office. Was he snooping about again? He rounded the corner ahead of her and she hurried a little faster to try to catch up. Even if she could only look at him a little longer, it was better than nothing.
She rounded the corner, expecting to see him walking away down the hallway, towards the academy front gate, but he wasn’t there. She only caught a glimpse of the tail of his jacket as it swished around the corner of the stairwell, heading up to the second floor.
What is he going up there for?
She hesitated a moment, wondering if she should follow him, but it was only an instant until her body took control and she started after him again. It was highly unlikely that she would so much as speak to him, but if following him meant she was able to watch him a little more, then why not. She dashed up the stairs, keeping her footfalls as quiet as possible.
At the top of the stairway she glanced left and right. There he was, down to the left. She followed him further, keeping her distance, and watched as he turned up the next set of stairs.
But that leads to the haunted hallway.
Notorious amongst academy students and faculty, the haunted hallway was a row of seldom used classrooms, a place where magic always seems to go astray, and some people had heard strange noises or found themselves inside a locked room. At this hour, there was no doubt it would be deserted, and Vain had no business snooping around up there.
So she followed.
She scurried up the steps again, hoping she wouldn’t lose him at the top. He was moving fast, and going somewhere he had no need to go. Something was very suspicious. She glanced around at the top of the hall, only to catch a glimpse of him, down the far end to the right, rounding the corner away from her.
She rushed after him, eager not to fall behind. She stopped at the corner, taking a peek around to check where he was going, and watched as he slipped into one of the classrooms, leaving the door wide open.
What on earth is he up to?
She followed a little slower, knowing that inside the classroom there was no where for him to go. Her tiptoes were silent in the eerily quiet hall and she held her breath, although possibly not intentionally. She stopped by the doorway and peeked around it, into the classroom.
He wasn’t there.
What the…? Where is he?
She stepped into the doorway, to see into the room a little further. He wasn’t in there at all.
Perhaps these classrooms really are haunted?
She walked slowly into the room, looking up and down to try to spot any sign or clue of where he could be.
Two hands grabbed her arms from behind.
‘Eep!’
She seized up and froze, her heart leaping up into her throat. The hand on her left arm bore familiar metal talons and the one on the right a black leather glove. She spun around but he just as quickly replaced his hands on her arms, keeping her fixed to the spot.
‘Well, well, what do we have here?’
He stood before her, silken rouge hair sweeping down over his right eye, conniving smirk tilting one corner of his mouth. His golden eye burned into her, as mesmerising as a roaring fire, and twice as dangerous. His hands were firm on her upper arms, holding her in place, no where to run, no where to hide.
But I’m not the one who was snooping around!
‘What are you doing?’ she demanded. ‘You scared me!’
‘Scared?’ he repeated, amused by her defiance. He taunted, an edge of a dark whisper in his tone, ‘you weren’t up to anything naughty now were you? No following anyone you shouldn’t be?’
‘I could ask the same of you!’ she retorted. ‘What were you doing in the headmaster’s office?’ She pushed her forearms out against his inner arms, trying to break free of him.
‘That’s none of your concern.’ He kept his grip tight despite her resistance. What was he even doing being so close to her?
‘I am concerned,’ she snapped. She pushed her arms against his again and added, ‘And you can let me go already.’
His hands slipped from her shoulders, but he didn’t move back at all, less than a foot between them. She stood her ground, not wanting to reveal that she was intimidated by his presence. She could hold her own as long as he could.
His smirk widened. ‘As if there’s anything you could do to stop me anyway,’ he mocked, his golden eye sparkling with a challenge.
His arrogance was enraging. But his confidence was so alluring. She was filled with conflict, so utterly despising how cocky and rude he was, yet still she found herself insatiably attracted to him. Why did he have to be so gorgeous? And cold? ‘Whatever you’re up to, we’ll find out.’
He took two steps backwards, keeping his golden eye trained on her, and reached behind him to close the door. Once it was securely closed he asked, a slyness in his voice, ‘and just how are you going to do that?’
Her mind went blank. She was captivated by his strong gaze, intimidated by being alone with him, and completely perplexed as to why he wanted to be alone with her.
Does he…? Could he…?
There was only one logical conclusion her mind could come to. Her biggest hurdle would be finding the confidence to go through with it. Still uncertain if he was really interested in her, she asked in the best sultry tone she could summon, ‘I’m sure there’s something I can do to get you to talk.’
A smirk spread across Vain’s face, narrowing his eyes and curling his lips. ‘Come here and try it then,’ he commanded.
She hesitated, only for a moment, wondering what on earth had blessed her that day to find herself in this situation, but she couldn’t second guess it. Here he was, asking, practically demanding that she do what she wanted with him. She crossed the two steps to move in closer to him and leant up on her toes to press her lips to his.
Oh god, oh god, oh god, what am I doing? I’m kissing Vain!
Her hands found their way to his waist, one placing on his side, the other clutching the hem of his jacket to leverage herself closer. She didn’t really need to try though, as Vain leant forward, his lips capturing hers as he placed his hands on her hips.
He was somewhat taller than her, but not so much that she had to strain her neck to reach him. Just enough she could enjoy the power exchange that flowed between them. She squeezed her hand on his waist, feeling the strength of his muscles beneath her fingers, stroking her thumb back and forth. She relished in the weight of his hands on her hips, holding her, drawing her in to him.
The kiss broke for air, momentarily, before he leant in again, this time with slightly parted lips, soft and almost wet. Her body clenched and her heart skipped a beat as the kiss softened into a press of lips. He liked it. He wanted more.
She returned his advance, kissing him again with open lips and slipping her tongue to meet his. She briefly swept her tongue past his before the kiss softened again. Her body ached to be touched, to be held, to be wanted, but just how far was this going to go? Was she really just after information?
Definitely not.
She leant in to him harder, forcing him backwards, pushing him against the back of the door. Her body pressed against his, her chest, her stomach, her hips, all melting against him. Beneath the belts on his hips was a firm bulge pressing into her abdomen.
Is he really that into me?
She drew her hips back an inch and slowly wiggled them closer. A soft moan rumbled from his lips against hers. She kissed him again, a little harder, her tongue dancing with his between their parted lips for a moment.
Oh god, how far is this going to go?
Her heart hammered away in her chest, her mind a buzzing blur. She drew away from him, opening her eyes to look up at him. She could tease him again, or she could sweet talk. She opted to tease, asking coyly in reference to their previous conversation, ‘how about now?’
He just smirked at her again, a glimpse of his teeth and a pointy canine between his smug lips. ‘Still not talking, sweetheart.’
Clearly, he wanted more than just a kiss. That suited her just fine though, happy to see where this thing was going. She returned his smug grin and murmured, ‘I’ll just have to try harder,’ before leaning up to kiss him again.
A heat built between them, tongues dancing between their mouths for brief moments between deep kisses and breaks for air. She dropped her hand from his jacket and lifted her hand from his waist to tug at the red cord that held his jacket to his chest. She pulled on the tail of the cord, smoothly untying the bow, then nudged his jacket back off his right shoulder. He moved forward off the door momentarily, allowing the heavy thing to drop off his shoulder and down his arm, before swiftly replacing his hands on her hips.
It wasn’t enough. Her body was pulsating with excitement, she wanted more, needed the next step. He took hold of the zip that ran from his collar down to the side of his shirt and pulled it down. She had to lean back off of him to draw it down and bare his chest, but as soon as she could, she leant in to him again, pressing up against him. The zip came undone and his shirt split apart, letting her slide her hands in underneath the thick fabric, over his firm stomach and up his sides. She smiled in to the kiss, fully aware of how long she had wanted to touch him like this, kiss him like this, and finally, her wish was coming true. The kiss deepened, her mouth locking over his as he returned her passion, pushing back to bear over her. It still wasn’t enough.
She slipped her hands out of his shirt and moved her hips off his, enough for her hands to find their way to the belts strapped around his hips. She ran her fingers over the smooth leather until she found a buckle and fiddled with it until it came apart. The second buckle just below the first was much easier, knowing which way to pull and slacken the belt. The next problem was his pants. She had no idea how they opened. She tucked her fingers into the waistband of the dark leather pants and ran the back of her nails across the smooth flesh of his stomach, hoping he would take the hint.
Vain obliged, the comforting weight of his hands leaving her hips and slipping between them. She kept gliding her nails back and forth around his hips as he swiftly undid his pants. She felt the soft leather slacken and she took hold of the waist band to push them down. Their kiss broke as she drew away, her eyes fluttering open to look up at him. At that distance, she could glimpse the icy blue eye hiding behind his rouge hair. She felt him lift himself free of his pants and gave him as sultry smirk before lowering herself to her knees in front of him.
Her body tightened and a slick warmth spread between her legs at the sight of his cock hovering before her, long, thick, and hard with a slight upward curve. She was suitably impressed that he was just as big as she had hoped, had imagined. She wrapped her hand around his length and slid the head of his cock between her lips as her eyes fell closed.
This was what she wanted. What she needed. She ran her hand up and down the length of his shaft as she slid the soft, wet inside of her lips back and forth over his head, her tongue rolling around and lapping at the tip of his cock like a lollipop.
His hands found her hair, the tips of his metal claws stroking through her tresses, while his right hand cupped the back of her head, gently coaxing her closer to him. As her lips slicked up the head of his cock she slowly worked her further down over him. Her tongue stroked the firm underside of his cock and his head pushed farther back into her mouth.
‘That’s it,’ he sighed. ‘Good girl.’
She looked up to his eyes to see him smirking down at her. From her vantage point she has a wonderful view of the firm ridges in his abs, the flat planes of his pecs, and the strikingly beautiful angles in his face, his jaw, his lips, his eyes. This was everything she wanted, the naughty school girl in an abandoned classroom, giving the devilish bad boy a blow job as he whispered to her how amazing it felt.
She worked harder, faster, wetter. Saliva slipped from her lips, slicking him up as she stroked her hand back and forth and pushed her head as fast as she could, as deep as she could. She could feel him growing harder under her grip, so clearly she had to be doing something right. Over the thick wet sounds coming from her mouth she could hear his heavy breathing and soft sighs, and every so often his fingers tensed on the back of her head.
Her avid desire to do something crazy and wild had been all but sated, but she could feel another desire building lower in her stomach. A tingle rippled through her followed by another little seep of slick warmth between her legs. She slipped her free left hand between her knees, up underneath her skirt and gave the lightest stroke over her panties, causing another wave of tingles to shudder out of her. Aroused was an understatement. She glanced up at Vain, wondering if he saw what she was doing, and if he might take the hint.
‘You want more, little kitten?’
She drew back off his cock, and nodded eagerly with a breathy, ‘yes please.’
He took hold of her arms and lifted her with ease to her feet. With a glance over her shoulder and a firm grip still on her arms, he guided her backwards. She tried hard not to stumble or trip as he pushed her back across the classroom until her ass butted up against a desk and he leant in to kiss her again.
He released her arms, his hips pressing against hers holding her in place, and wrapped his arms around behind her. She wondered for a moment what he was doing, his hands fiddling behind her back, but it soon became obvious when he returned his ungloved right hand and slid it between them again, his hips lifting off hers and hand slipping up her skirt. His fingertips traced over her lips, tickling and teasing the same way she had done to herself. This time though the tingles that ran through her were much stronger, melting under his touch. She needed more. She kissed him harder, wrapped her hands around the back of his neck and into the long thick strands of his hair, pulling him closer to her.
His fingers pulled at the side of her panties between her thighs, nudging the thin strip of fabric to the side to slip his fingers between her warm, wet lips.
‘Oh,’ he murmured, drawing back from the kiss. ‘The little kitten’s gotten herself all worked up.’
She couldn’t help her glance downward and a small cringe.
He stroked a circle between her lips before sliding the tip of his finger inside of her. His fingers were cooler than the warmth between her legs, a strange rigidity that felt so good, but not quite right inside her. She pulled him in to kiss her again as he slid his finger further in and back out of her, slowly, gently.
He clawed hand found her thigh, slipping up under her skirt to the hem of her panties. He gently removed his right hand from between her legs, to take hold of the other side of her panties and pushes them down. She had to lift her hips off the edge of the desk and the fabric slipped over her ass to the top of her thighs, where Vain let them go to drop to the floor.
‘Sit back,’ he instructed.
She complied, sitting on the edge of the desk, her short skirt tucked underneath her ass. Vain dropped to one knee and grabbed her legs, hoisting them off the ground as she gave a little yip and steadied herself with her hands behind her. He lifted her legs onto his shoulders, knees wide, her thighs either side of his cheeks and leant in to press his open mouth against her warm, wet lips.
‘Oh god!’
A jolt of pleasure leapt through her, her stomach curling up on herself and one hand diving into his hair. His lips locked over her clit, flat tongue stroking the raised bundle under her skin. Her breath hitched as he sucked and licked, the warm, wet, soft sensation making her legs tremble and her body clench.
‘Vain!’ she gasped.
He didn’t relent. He wrapped his hands around her thighs, drawing her closer, trapping her under his grip. Tension was building quickly in her lower abdomen, deep inside her core. His deep kiss on her clit made her body tremble and her legs shake. The ecstasy threatened to burst out from her at any second.
No! Too soon!
She clung to his hair, feebly tried to push his head back, but it was futile. Her thighs clenched around his head, her stomach twisted into knots, and stifled whimpers slipped out of her lips hanging agape.
‘Mm please!’ Her pitch grew higher as she climbed towards precipice, his smooth tongue dragging her closer with every soft wet stroke. Her toes curled and her head rolled back as she tumbled into the chasm of her orgasm.
‘God yes!’ she moaned. Her legs, her whole body, trembled and waves of ecstasy rolled through her. Vain didn’t move away, continuing to lick and suck, drawing out every whimper and moan from her, pushing her to ride through every course of pleasure until it became too intense to bear.
‘Stop, please stop!’ she panted. She pushed harder against his head, and this time he yielded, releasing his lip lock from between her legs.
Her legs dropped of his shoulders as he stood upright, stepping in close to the desk. He slipped one hand around the back of her waist, the other wrapped around his cock stroking slowly. ‘Are you ready?’ he whispered as he pulled her forward with his hand on her lower back.
There were no breaks. No chance to catch her breath. She had somehow managed to shift back on the desk, so she wiggled forward and Vain pressed his stiff cock downwards, his head rubbing between her lips. ‘God,’ she panted. She slid her hands over his shoulders, underneath his shirt, and locked her legs around his hips. Trying hard not to grip too tight, she tilted her hips forward to allow him. She watched, look down between their bodies, as he pressed his hips forward, his hand drawing away as his cock sunk inside of her.
‘Oh god!’ she moaned.
Her body was still spasming internally, and despite how wet she was, it was a bit of a stretch for him to slide his thick cock into her. She could feel her body clenching and convulsing as he pushed his hips deeper between her legs, until she was filled entirely and there was nowhere further for him to go.
She looked up to his eyes, happy to find his smug little smirk had dropped, to be replaced with an intense heat and desire. He leant forward to kiss her, the taste of her own body clinging to his lips, before he gently drew out and pushed inside her once more.
It was an ache that felt so incredibly good she didn’t have words. Unlike the finger he slipped inside her before, his cock was the perfect size and shape, stroking every inch of her and pushing into the end of her core. She kissed him, hard, clinging on to his lips like a lifeline.
Her body rocked on the desk, tilting back and forth with the push and pull of his hips. It felt so amazingly good, a heat running through her from between her legs all the way through her chest. She kissed him again, her tongue swirling around his as he slid his free hand around the side of her neck, drawing her closer to him. She dropped one hand from his shoulder to slip it around his waist, pulling herself to the very edge of the desk and widening her hips to allow him better access.
His hips rocked a little faster, pushed a little harder, thrust a little deeper. Each stroke of his cock hit deep inside her, an almost painful ache that pulled a whimper from her lips. The faster and harder he went, the more the desk rocked back and forth with her, and she prayed that no one on the floor below would be able to hear them. Vain adjusted him rhythm, short jolts deep inside her that made less movement for the desk, and somehow managed to strike a nerve that pushed every thought from her mind except for her thoughts of him.
He didn’t tire, didn’t stop, didn’t come. He kept his kiss locked over her lips, holding her face up to his, and fucked her harder, pounding into her faster and stronger. Between kisses and gasps for air she couldn’t help an occasional yelp or blurted obscenity. Her mind grew heavy, her body reaching levels of pleasure she felt terrified of ever letting go of.
But eventually he slowed, quickly coming to a stop as their kiss gently broke. ‘Get down,’ he instructed as he drew out of her and she relaxed her legs.
Everything between her legs ached. Her insides roared with a dull agony that felt very similar to the pain after a long workout. But it was more than worth it, and it wasn’t over yet.
‘Bend over the desk,’ Vain commanded.
She did as instructed, turning around in the small space between him and the desk, and leant forward onto her forearms. Vain’s hands ran up over her ass, lifting her skirt, the claws on his left hand grazing her skin. He kept his left hand on her lower back while his right took hold of his cock again and pressed it down, guiding it between her soaking wet lips and pushing his way inside of her.
‘Oh god!’ she gasped. This was a much different pleasure, a different angle, a new strain on her opening that felt somewhat sharper and she might regret the next day but right then, she didn’t care. He pushed deeper inside her until his hips met her ass and his hands took hold of the round flesh of her hips. Her fingers slipped over the edge of the desk, gripping tight as he drew back and pushed back into her, each stroke a little faster, a little harder.
With no kiss on her lips, her yelps and moans came out louder and faster as he pounded in to her. She pressed her mouth to her forearm, desperate to stop herself and the cries of ecstasy being torn from her. He held nothing back, fucking her hard enough to make the edge of the desk lift with her hips, and in the brief moments of quiet she could force from herself she could hear his heavy breathing, a tense pant coming from him behind her. She glanced back over her shoulder to see the strain on his face, in his eyes, as he gazed down at her ass and his cock sinking in to her. He glanced up to catch her gaze, the sly smirk almost returning to his panting lips.
He leant forward, his right forearm leaning on the desk beside her as his left hand wove into her hair and grabbed a fistful to pull her head back and to the side, twisting her body around. With the height difference between them it was not difficult for him to lean over her and capture her lips in another deep kiss while continuing to thrust his hips against her ass. It created a different tension though, a different angle that was verging on painful for her, but she would never complain. She was just so utterly content to be his little play thing.
She could feel the tension rising in him, the strain in his body and movements as he grew closer to orgasm. She kissed him deeper, her tongue playing with his momentarily before breaking away. ‘Please,’ she whispered against his lips. ‘Please come for me!’ His hips faltered a moment but he kept pushing harder and deeper as he kissed her again. ‘Please!’
A groan tore from his throat as his head bowed. He quickly pulled out of her, his cock nestling between her ass cheeks and his abs. ‘Fuck!’ he hissed as both fists clenched and his body shook, hot sticky cum shooting between their bodies, over her ass.
His body relaxed, his heavy panting turning into deep breaths. She waited patiently, revelling in the ache of her body, and how utterly content and satisfied she felt until he opened his eyes to look at her, the icy blue and fiery gold captivating her. He leant in to kiss her once more, gently, briefly, before pulling away to stand up off her.
‘Stay there,’ he instructed. She didn’t have much choice anyway, if she stood up, her skirt would land in the puddle of mess on her backside. He crossed back over to his jacket by the door and pulled something out of a pocket.
She waited patiently, as he had told her. After a moment, he returned, standing behind her again and wiped up the mess on her backside with a handkerchief. A sticky residue was left behind, one that would no doubt need a shower to remove, but for the most part she was cleaned up, so she stood up straight again.
Vain tossed the handkerchief into a nearby waste paper basket and then redressed himself. She absentmindedly pulled on her panties and adjusted her uniform back into it’s correct place while watching as he zipped up his shirt, pulled up his pants, buckled his belts and finally pulled his jacket on again. The only thing he was missing was the glove he’d taken off his right hand, which was still on the desk behind her.
She picked it up and crossed over to him, holding it close to her chest. He gave a sly smile as he took hold of the glove, but she didn’t let it go. She still needed to know what he was doing in the academy in the first place, so she asked, ‘are you gonna tell me now what you were up to?’
‘Hm?’ he queried, having clearly forgotten all about their prior conversation. ‘Oh you mean in the headmaster’s office?’ He gave a small chuckle to himself and yoinked the glove from her hand. ‘He wanted to talk to me about enrolling Hugo in the academy,’ he answered as he pulled his glove on once more.
She felt dumbfounded. ‘Is that it?’ she asked. ‘Why couldn’t you just say that in the first place?’
He smirked at her once more. ‘Why would I?’ he taunted. ‘It was so much more fun leading a little kitten astray.’
He leant forward, curling a finger underneath her chin to tilt her head up and kissed her once more, gently, briefly. When she opened her eyes, he was gone.
What? He disappeared!
She looked around the room, spinning in a full circle, but he was no where to be seen.
That sneaky bastard!
His last words stuck in her mind. Little kitten he called her, and she didn’t mind the nickname at all. Leading her astray. He hadn’t done much to lead her, other than bringing her to the privacy of the room, but clearly it had been his intention, bringing her up here, grabbing her, closing the door. Despite however annoyed she felt that he had literally up and vanished, she couldn’t help the swell in her ego, knowing that he had wanted her just as much as she wanted him.
She sighed with a smile, revelling in the satiation of her need for some wild, crazy fun.

The Oracle Prince, Chapter 10
Pairing: Viggo/Liz
Summary: We’ve found the gems of the Dragonkin, but now Hawkeye has their eye on the treasures of the noble families. The Foundation Day royal ball seems like the perfect time. Luckily, we have the help of the crown prince- Viggo?!
First: Chapter 1
Previous: Chapter 9
My mind was racing as I waited outside of the castle infirmary, the voices inside seeming like a dull roar.
This wasn't how things were supposed to go. Viggo was supposed to win, he was supposed to win his freedom.
'I can't lose him,' I thought, and my heart ached. There was still so much I wanted to do with him. I wanted to see the town. I wanted to dance with him. I wanted to be by his side longer. 'Please, be all right. Please let him be all right.'
"Liz?" I turned to the voice. "You can come in now."
Viggo was slowing sitting up on the bed. I saw the king hovering at his side. Despite his gentle smile, it looked like he had been crying.
"It was a little touch and go there, but he should be all right," the doctor said. "His mist absorbed most of the smoke."
"Thank goodness. Thank goodness." My legs nearly gave out at his side.
"I'll give you two a moment alone," the king said, slipping out of the room.
As soon as he left, all that worry came flooding back to me. "What were you thinking?! Alfonse said that was poison smoke! Daniel could have killed you!"
"I'm sorry to worry you," he said. "There was something that I needed from him."
"What is it? What could be worth your life?"
With a weak smile, he drew something from his pocket. And my breath hitched at the sight- a crystal shining with many colors. I knew the sight well.
"Is that-"
"The gem of earth," he said. "I knew he was too arrogant not to try to use it in the battle. So I had to take it from him.”
I felt tears in my eyes as I took the gem. Viggo, who never believed in a future, had risked his life, had risked the fight, to take back the gem for us.
And all the pieces fell into place, as I realized just why my heart ached when I was with him. Oh. Oh.
"And that.. makes five."
The days passed as we drew closer to the ball, and Viggo quickly seemed to regain his strength. And all the while..
"Disappeared without a trace?"
"Nobody's seen hide nor hair of him," Albert said. "I've heard Lord Oxford's sent out a search party, but even he's not having much luck."
Viggo smirked. "Guess that means I won."
My heart warmed to see his smile. Despite all the scares, he'd done it. He'd won his freedom and the gems. "You did. And now you're free to do whatever you want!"
"In that case," he suddenly grabbed my hands, pulling me close, "let's go out tonight. We can sneak into town."
"Would that really be all right?"
"Why not? We've got time."
"I'm certainly not telling anyone," Albert said with a wink.
All the weight of the world had been on our shoulders. But everything was over now. A night on the town might not be so bad. "All right. You're on!"
"Shh! Careful now!" Viggo took my hand as he led me down the path.
“Is this one of the secret tunnels you told me about? I thought only the royal family was allowed.”
“And their most trusted. Plus, its the easiest way to sneak into the town.”
Going into town together, sneaking away, the lights shining above us, it all felt suddenly familiar. "This is just like that first night we went out together."
"I remember," he said, but he was smiling. "Going out with you was the only good part of that night."
I felt my cheeks burn at the unexpected compliment, so I turn around. "You said it so easily."
He laughed, taking my hand. He seemed to shine in the moonlight, a brilliant smile on his lips. "Come on, I'm gonna show you something.”
Just like before, we slipped through the alleys, down streets I didn't know existed. But it was different this time. No guards to chase us, no secrets to keep, just the two of us walking together in the night.
I knew that I would follow him wherever he wanted to go. As long as I could feel his hand in mine.
'I'm really.. falling for him.'
We slipped down twisting hallways- until we came to a magnificent set of locked doors.
He came up to the door, grinning as his hands brushing against the metal. "Huh, to think that it was so easy. This place is usually crawling with guards."
"Where are we?"
"The vault of the royal family. All of the treasures of the royal family are sealed away in here- including the key to awakening the Dragon of Time.”
"So we really could just.. go in if we wanted to?”
"It's funny, isn't it?” He tugged on the key. “I used to think about coming here with this key, taking what I could, and running away. Leaving all this prince stuff behind." He reached for the door. "It would be easy to do it now. But.. I don't want to."
“You don't?”
“Weight of the world's off my shoulders. Maybe this being a prince thing's not so bad.” He turned away with a grin, pulling me along. "Come on, let's go."
Memories came flooding back as we turned down another hidden alley, into a street that shone.
"This is where we came before. That little place where no one knows your name. I know a little restaraunt around here.”
But, as we stepped up to the restaurant, I heard voices behind us.
"Is that the prince?"
Viggo stiffened. "Guess the news would reach even here."
That's when an idea occurred to me. "See, honey?" I said in a loud voice, nudging him. "I told you that you looked like the prince, but you said noooo. Now there's going to be all sorts of rumors floating around!”
He sighed, winding an arm around my waist. I didn't miss his smile. "Guess you were right. Maybe we can get the prince to let us borrow some of his guards?"
"Huh?" The pair looked genuinely perplexed. "You're not the prince?"
"Sorry, buddy."
"We're just simple academy students," I lied. I laughed, tossing my hair. "Though it's a little flattering to think that someone like me could end up with a prince."
"Looks like I've got competition."
"Oh, sorry, dude." I could barely contain my giggles as the two of them walked off. Viggo's laughter joined mine.
"You know, that reminds me," Viggo grinned, leaning in close, "you promised a kiss if I won." And I was suddenly aware of his hands around my waist, of that devillish smile. He was  so close to me that I could feel his breath on my skin, but I didn't want to pull away.
'Would it be so bad to kiss Viggo?'
"A-all right." I leaned up towards him-
"Stop."
I froze. Was he messing with me? Maybe he'd figured I had feelings for him. Perhaps this was all just a cruel joke.
But he smiled, brilliant and sweet in the moonlight. "I have a better idea. Save your kisses for now- and be my partner for the ball."
"You.. want me to be your partner for the ball?"
"Got a problem?"
Worry started to seep into my heart. This would be Viggo's first official public appearance as prince. Did I deserve to stand by his side?
And suddenly, the words started pouring out. "You're a prince, and I'm.. just a clumsy wizardess for nowhere. I don't really know how to act at a ball, how to be a partner, how to be a noble, I'm just-"
"I don't care about that." He suddenly grabbed my shoulders, turning me to face him. My breath caught in my throat at his serious expression. "You're the only one in this whole darn place who sees me for who I am, not just a prince. You're the one who stayed by my side. It doesn't matter where you came from, you're the one who did it, and you're the one I chose."
"Viggo.." His unexpected tender words touched my heart. What a fool I was, to think anything else would matter. I felt tears in my eyes, trying to brush them away. "Thank you."
"So what do you say?"
"Of course I'll go to the ball with you!"
"Excellent.” He smiled, grabbing my hand. "Come on, there's one more place we've got to go."
We came to a place that I didn't recognize- a tower reaching up. And yet Viggo walked in casually as if he had been here a million times before.
"Where are we?"
"Careful." He took my hand as he led me up the stairs. Stepping into the room, I saw a large telescope in the middle. "The royal family's observatory. Though no one's here for the night."
"I think you told me about this before. It seems like your kind of place."
"You haven't seen the best part." He pressed a button on the wall, and a panel opened in the ceiling, revealing the stars. My breath hitched in my throat. From here, the stars looked crystal clear, casting everything in a glow.
"It's so beautiful.."
"Harder to find a place in Gedonelune where the stars are clearer," he said. "Here, come on." He laid down on the ground, and I laid down next to him. It felt natural, like this was where I was meant to be,
"I used to come here with Dad all the time. He said that this would help me with my powers." His tone was wistful, his eyes shining, smiling without a care in the world."After I had visions, we would sit here for hours, trying to pick out the constellations and name the stars. I started learning to control my powers that way."
I couldn't help but feel a little playful. "You know," I said, teasingly, leaning in closer to him, "I heard the prince is a brilliant astronomer."
"They're not wrong. You see that one?" I followed his finger, tracing the figure with my eyes.
"It looks like.. a man getting ready to fight?"
"Orion," he said. "A famous hunter. Though it's not his time yet."
The voice that normally seemed so cold seemed so full of warmth. And I couldn't keep my eyes off his face, his eyes shining with light as he told me about each star.
"Came here a lot after they announced they were going to reveal the Night Class. Saw so many new faces- and then those faces started showing up in my visions. First Caesar, the shadow of death hanging over him. And then when I met you- stuck in that rotten cage, you started to show up."
A familiar memory came back. It had all seemed hopeless- and then Viggo had swooped in and saved us, like a prince in a fairy tale. "That day.. when Caesar and I were trouble in the market, and you came to save us, was that because of a vision?"
He snorted. "That was just good luck," he admitted. "Just happened to hear your voices."
"I'm glad you did though. I don't know what we would have done if you hadn't. You actually helped us a lot over the last few months."
"What do you mean?"
"Like when I was searching for info on Princess Claudia. It would've taken me ages to find out, but you just pointed us in that direction so easily."
"I remember that. I had a vision of you in that old mansion. When you came around, I thought what the heck, couldn't hurt to nudge you in the right direction."
His expression suddenly turned serious. "I suddenly got a lot of visions of you when the Oxfords got my guardianship. And not ones that helped you." His eyes darkened, and I knew what he was thinking of. "I just.. wondered why I kept seeing visions of you."
"Do you think your visions were leading us here?"
"Who knows?" he said, but he smiled, that brilliant smile that sent my heart racing. "But we're here. And that's enough for me."
Staying by his side, the two of us gazing at the stars.. I wished I could stay in that moment forever.
After that, we slipped back into the palace, following the tunnels Viggo had shown me.
"No one should be up by now-"
But, to my surprise, the king was already waiting at the doors. "Ah, Viggo, Liz," he said cheerily, "did you have a nice night out?"
I froze. He had caught us red-handed! What could I say to that? "Y-Your Majesty! I can explain!"
"No need, it's all right! A little birdy told me you two were heading out for the night. I'm just glad if you two had fun."
"A little birdy?" I looked over at Viggo, and he avoided his gaze.
"..Figured I shouldn't worry him now that things are looking better," he muttered.
I couldn't help but smile. 'That's actually kind of cute.'
Our days passed peacefully, and, just like that, it was the night of the ball.
But we had gotten too relaxed. None of us were prepared for what was waiting for us. That day would go down in history. By the time the Midnight bells struck, the Dragon of Time would awaken.
Felix: It looks like everything is coming to an end. They've managed to get five of the gems, and they're going to the ball together.
Hugo: You sound a little upset. Were you going to ask her?
Felix: W-why would I ask a human? Although I suppose, if she didn't have a partner..
Hugo: It seems like we're not so different.
Felix: Don't tell me you were going to ask her!
Hugo: Next time, the Ball.
Felix: Hey, answer the question!

The Route Thief
Tumblr media
Sumary: Everybody used to tell me to stop playing those games, but what can I do? An otome game is pretty addictive and specially if is one like Wizardess Heart. This game is my life! Wait, I didn't mean literally... Then, why I'm suddenly inside on my game!? Is that Hiro and Zeus? When I said this game is my life I didn't mean to want that this game BE my life!
(note: I'm gonna keep the story as simple as I can, since deep stories are not my fort. ((I already tried... )) so If there's questions you can ask, and all I want is you have fun whit this story as much as I have fun writing!)
Pairing: Hiro x Marian
Chapter 1
Hello, my name is ____, I'm a girl just like you. I have a job, I spend my time on social media, fandom's, and of course, Otome Games. My favorite one is Shall we Date Wizardess Heart. Is amazing! Since the first day I downloaded I didn't stop a single day of playing. I have my favorite boys too. Alfonse is amazing, Hiro is amazing, everyone is amazing! Why can't I find a real boy like one of them? Is too much to ask? Oh well, still, I'm very content whit my life right now. But, they say that the predictable of life is that is totally unpredictable. The last I can remember is my dear game on the screen of my cellphone while I was on the airplane. Is at night time, and it was pitch dark inside since almost everybody was asleep. My eyelids were heavy. We still have more hours of travel and I'm tired. But still, I was in such sweet moment on my favorite route, that I didn't wanted to stop, just a little more, I almost done with the ending. But my head was heavy, and before I notice, I fell asleep.
The next thing I saw, was a strange ceiling. It was, red? I was in a bed? Do I'm at home? On my hotel perhaps? I grabbed my head and instantly a throbbing pain attacked me. I hear some rushed steps whit the sudden vision of a woman dressed on a funny way.
"Oh my goodness! Young lady you finally woke up! Doctor! Doctor please! She woke up!"
Please stop screaming! Who is that girl? Wait, did she call a doctor? Where is this place? I tried to rise from the bed, but every movement makes my head throb even more. The doors opened and a bunch o people came saying a lot of things, being so noisy. Just shut up!
"Lady Marian, how do you feel? Did you head hurt?"
Who is he talking with? To me? My vision finally cleared a little and I was able to see the faces that were at the edge of the bed. Some girls were dresses on black and white. The bed I was in was huge and the red ceiling was actually a canopy over the bed. Uh? Wasn't I on a airplane? How did I get here? Is this a dream? The doors opened again and a well dressed woman entered the room. Everyone else back off and she look at me from the other side of the bed, without the most significant feeling.
"Honestly, to think that you have been sleeping for three days already, you have no sense at all right? "
Uh? What, three days?
"We had to sacrifice a good horse for your senselessness. Worse yet, do you know what would have happened if you had die? All the big sacrifices we have made for you would had been in vain! "
Why is this old woman yelling at me? Not even my own mother yells at me.
"My-my Lady, the young lady just woke up. She need to rest a little bit more, she hit her head in a horrible way, is a miracle that she's alive, we should let her rest for now. "
What kind of theater is this? By the way, this room looks like something you'll see on the palace of Versailles. Is really beautiful, but...
"um... Excuse me"
I spoke to all this people once I feel my mind a lot more clearly
"Who are you all people?"
My question send everyone on freeze.
"What... Are you talking about?"
Said the stern woman.
"Are you trying to play fool on your own irresponsible acts?"
"sorry but, I don't know what are you talking about. Where am I by the way?"
"Young Lady"
The doctor approached me
"Could it be... That the hit on your head... "
"My head?"
I touched my head and it instantly hurt again
"Ouch!"
"Young lady, do you remember what happened? Do you know where you are? Do you at least know your full name?"
I looked at the worried eyes of the old doctor. What is it? Is there something I missed?
"I... Why you keep calling me young lady? What is this place? Did... Did you guys kidnapped me!?"
Everyone gasped at the same time. The doctor retired from my bed and walked towards the well dressed woman.
"My lady, I'm so deeply sorry. It is possible that the young lady... Lost her memories "
"Wha... What!?"
For the first time the woman face turns pale and broke her stern look. And then she suddenly passed out. The girls dressed as maids rushed to grab her. The doctor asked them that take her to another room and after they leave he address me
"Young lady, you must not panic. You are in a safe place, this is your home. You have fallen from a horse while riding and you sleep for three days due to it. Is common that you feel confused, but I sure you, everything will be fine. We're all here to help you. "
"E... Excuse me?"
"Did you al least remember your name?"
"Uh... _____?"
"I see you don't"
What? I'm wrong whit my own name?"
"Your name is Marian Von Swanson. You are the proud daughter of Lord of Swanson of the Kingdom of Queensblade. "
....
"I think you're wrong. "
"No my lady I'm pretty sure of this"
He said whit a smile.
Wait a moment... Did he said Queensblade!!?? I felt dizzy again and laid down on bed. Is a dream right? I'm having a dream. I probably been playing Wizardess Heart to much, that's why I'm confusing things right?... Right?....
To be continued...

Criticize Wizardess Heart
So I’m starting my criticizing series. I know I said I’d do Pokemon but, then again, I didn’t say that I’d be limiting myself to that. I just wanted to devote something to one of my most favorite animes and I have opinions about other things Id like to get off my chest, too. Anyways, I’m starting my criticize series with, well, ‘criticize’ and then I follow it by whatever I’m criticizing. So here I go!
-----------
So I only really have problems with two guys whose routes you can pick. Particularly in how they’re characterized. So the first guy is a blond named Elias. I have played several routes before him. Elias would show up because he’s the protagonist’s classmate and I would see he’s sweet, thoughtful, and always willing to help. I look forward to playing his route when I got around to it and what do I get? The exact. Damn. Opposite. Elias became hostile, distant, and, above all, whiny. What the fuck? He goes on and on about how his grades are important to him and the protagonist shouldn’t drag him down. Then Elias leaves, like that’s all he has to do. Except the protagonist isn’t the best academic student. She struggles in intelligence. So, naturally, she was gonna mess up. The reason why Elias says crap like ‘don’t drag me down’ is because, in Wizardess Heart, the protagonist is more often than not gets paired up with another student because of a buddy system in the school they’re enrolled in. One half gets poor grades and the other half gets poor grades as a result. I don’t have any sympathy for Elias because all he ever does is whine, complain, and be distant. For all that shit he spews out that his grades are important to him, Elias sure doesn’t protect him like how I would expect him to. If his grades were really worth anything to him, Elias would want to make sure how well the protagonist knows her damn stuff, tutor her in anything and everything she doesn’t understand. That way, the protagonist can actually get better grades and so it’d be protecting his grades. Except no, he doesn’t do that. He never does that. Not until the protagonist bends herself backwards just to appeal to the selfish whiner. If you ask me, it was likely that Elias knew that the protagonist was just a provisional student and was hoping she’d fail the initiation test that she’d have to take after the first two weeks of being enrolled at the school. Because, yeah, that’s a thing in this game and in the school’s system. If what I think is true, then that means Elias is willing to endure two weeks of bad grades because he thinks helping the protagonist with her grades is even worse. Either way, my rant goes to show that, whatever Elias’s priorities were, it was clearly not grades. I am just so disappointed that this guy, someone I was looking forward to imagining a romance with, is just so unlikable and unsympathetic. Elias’s brother had enough fricking common sense to tutor the protagonist so that his own grades don’t suffer. And he also did it for the protagonist’s sake! Elias couldn’t even do it for his own!
Another guy I was disappointed by was Zeus. Now, I’m not as disappointed by him as I am by Elias. That’s because Zeus was intentionally characterized as a jerk and the other characters acknowledge it. However, I found Zeus to be more likable outside his own route. In his route, the writing was kind of off. Sure, they’d acknowledge that he does selfish things, like banging on the protagonist’s window at the middle of the night just because he wants to hang out with her without ever considering or caring whether or not it’d scare and/or inconvenience her. However, I feel like they skip some steps in the process of Zeus becoming more caring and less of a jerk. For one thing, I don’t think that - as far as I played, anyways, I didn’t finish the whole route before wanting to quit - the writers had Zeus apologize for any part of his behavior. In fact, you wanna know what the very first thing Zeus said to the protagonist? That she had an ugly or plain face. Definitely not beautiful. Zeus still never apologized for that. Or anything else, for that matter, as I’ve said. Yet Zeus is just becoming nicer because the protagonist is learning to go at his pace; that’s what it felt like when I was playing his route. The saddest part is that he’s better characterized outside his own route. I mean, he’s still a jerk but he becomes nicer and the progress of that feels more natural. At least, outside his own route, Zeus has the excuse of becoming a better person off-screen or whatever you say for a dating sim phone app. In his actual route, the writing just feels like it skipped a step or two in the whole redemption thing. So Zeus is still disappointing. Just not as much as Elias, as I’ve said at the beginning. At least I wrote my own OCs for that!
---------
If anyone’s curious about those OCs I meantioned, then send me a message and I’ll get to it when I have time. Thanks to anyone who does! Also, Wizardess Heart belongs to NTT Solmare Corp. Only the OCs are my own actual idea and, even then, it was inspired from my outrage over the characterization over a couple of their characters. Finally, the game itself is still good; I’m just stating opinions and having a rant about it

After class ended, the warmth of the sunset had rained down the academy. In the Prefect’s office, Alfonse, Caesar, and I were finishing up some paperwork when an unfamiliar bird flew through the window. It carried a package wrapped in a beautiful cloth in its claws. The three of us watched in wonder as the bird set the package on Caesar's desk. Afterwards, it perched itself on a tall stack of books nearby.
"Hey, Caesar. You got something from Hinomoto?” Alfonse asked as he walked towards the bird.
"I think this is from my friends," Caesar responded while untying the knot of the package.
"That's right! Didn't you study in Hinomoto for three years?" I asked Caesar.
He laughed in response. "You remembered."
"Of course." I laughed as well. He mentioned that little tidbit when we first met.
Out of curiosity, I went a few steps behind Alfonse. Despite my experience with animals, I have never seen such a colorful bird as this one. The creature had a red wattle and an indigo hood. Its dark green plumage shone like emeralds under the beams of the sun. The gray tail of the bird wagged in slight motions as we gazed at it.
"Wow! Do you know what it's called?" I asked Alfonse.
"This is a green pheasant," he said as he leaned down and observed the creature from various angles, like one would to a specimen. "It's a popular familiar from Hinomoto."
Without warning, the bird gave out a loud squawk which made Alfonse lean away.
"The bird is asking for some treats, Alfonse," I gave the best translation I could for him. That bird sure had an attitude…
"Oh, right." Alfonse took some sort of herb from his pocket and gave it to the bird. After it had taken the treat in its beak, the bird flew out the window.
"Aww... It's gone," Alfonse said, disappointed.
"It's probably just going to go around the academy. I'll have to send my reply, so it's going to come back," Caesar assured Alfonse. "Hey, check these out!" He gestured at the contents of the unwrapped package.
We turned to Caesar's desk and sure enough, it was filled with gifts of all sorts. Big and small. Heart shaped and pyramid-shaped. There was even a jar of paper cranes!
"You've got a postcard here." I pointed out.
"Could you read it for me, please?" he asked, still busy as he unwrapped the smaller gifts.
"Sure." I picked up the postcard. In the photo was the younger Caesar with his friends under a giant cherry tree. "To our dearest Piggy," I began.
"Ugh..." Caesar's reaction on the nickname was the same as ever.
"How have you been? You've got some chocolates from your admirers for this year's Love Holiday. Wow, you're still popular here as you can see. We hope they'll get to you in time."
It was a day before Love Holiday, a special day that only came once a year. It was a day when couples all around the world reaffirmed their feelings for each other. In Hinomoto, the women expressed their affection by giving chocolate. At least, that was what I heard once from Azusa.
As soon as I read about the chocolates, Caesar rummaged through the sea of gifts and found the cute boxes tied with red ribbons. He opened one of them and offered some chocolate to us.
"Hold on, there's more," I told him. "There are also some gifts from us, so you can find your Princess Piggy. We miss you, Caesar! Come visit us in Hinomoto soon!" The postcard was signed by the class which Caesar belonged to in Hinomoto. I thought of how close he must be with them as I set the postcard down the table.
Curious, Alfonse asked, "What do they mean by that?"
"It's probably this one." Caesar held up a book with a red cover, flipped it open to a certain page, and passed it to Alfonse.
“The Red String of Fate,” the blond read the title out loud. “Oh, this is quite interesting, isn't it?”
The passage from the book said that in Hinomoto, two people whose fates were intertwined would meet each other no matter the time, place, or circumstance. The invisible cord which connected people was called the Red String of Fate. The magic spell would make the invisible string visible.
"Why don't you try it, Alfonse?" Caesar said and took out a pig-shaped chocolate from one of the boxes.
"What?" Alfonse looked up from the book in confusion.
"You're just scared you'll find a venus flytrap on the other end." Caesar laughed and proceeded to eat the chocolate.
"Why don't you be the one to try it, Caesar?"
"Me? Nope!"
Alfonse turned to me and asked, "Do you think he's just scared he'll find a pig on the other end of it?"
"No way!” I shook my head. “He'll probably find someone's familiar," I laughed and played along Alfonse's joke.
"Now that you mention it..." Alfonse pretended to consider and narrowed his eyes, "I bet it's going to be Seth. Remember when Piggy Caesar thought Seth was going to eat him?"
"How could I forget that?" I giggled. "But I'm gonna put my bet on Taffy. I wonder how Randy would react, though."
Alfonse gasped. "But what if…" he said in a whisper, "Elias…”
I feigned surprise. "Oh my. Didn't he turn into a boar the other day?"
"Again," Alfonse nodded. “My little brother…”
"Guys, I'm still here…" Caesar said, his eyes closed in frustration.
As Alfonse and I laughed at his reaction, Caesar turned to me and suggested, "Why don't you try it, Liz?"
"What? Why me?"
Alfonse nodded in enthusiasm. "Yeah! You've never tried Onmyo-jutsu, right? It'll be fun!"
It'll be fun, he said.
"W-Well, since I've never tried, I'm not sure how I should do it."
Caesar handed me the book which was still flipped open to the page of the soulmate spell. "You just have to write these characters in the air." He pointed at the section of the page with a larger text. There were numbered arrows as guide on how each stroke began and ended.
"Huh? But what if I make a mistake?" I told them, worried.
"You won't!” Caesar waved his hand in dismissal of the pessimistic thought. “You're a skilled wizardess after all."
"What do you say, Liz? Want to try it out?" Alfonse asked.
I gave it some thought. "Okay, I'll try it!" After all, what could possibly go wrong?
"I'm excited!" Alfonse said.
“Me too. This will be interesting,” Caesar chimed in. “Anyone in particular you want to see on the other end of the string?”
The hues of someone's vibrant gray hair flashed through my mind.
I hid a blush and quickly dispelled the thought. “Well, I don't want it to affect the results.”
“Oh, so there is someone!” Caesar teased.
“She's right, though,” Alfonse agreed, “It would be best to clear your mind when casting this spell.”
Caesar nodded. “Well, go on, then.”
I held the book in one of my hands and began to trace the characters in the air with the other.
“運命の赤い糸”
(うんめいのあかいいと)
(unmei no akai ito)
The moment I finished the final character, a magic circle with a red glow appeared on the ground where I stood. It was written in more Hinomoto alphabet I did not understand. In a few seconds, the light shone brighter than ever and I closed my eyes in reflex.
“Did it work?” I feared that I failed the spell, just like the old days. But it would be understandable since this was my first attempt in Onmyo-jutsu.
“Take a look,” I heard Caesar say.
When I opened my eyes, everything looked and felt normal. When I brought my hand up to check the results, it was then that I realized I succeeded with the spell.
A magical thread was wrapped around my pinky finger in a few loops, as an actual string would. There wasn't a knot or if there was, I couldn't see it. The red string seemed to pass through the middle of the door without a problem.
“Whoa…” Caesar tried to touch the string but it went right through his hand. “I have to admit, this is kind of cool.”
“Let's follow it,” Alfonse suggested.
“But what if it's not someone from the academy?” I told them, “Who knows, it might be someone from overseas, like Queensblade, maybe?”
“Well, we won't know unless we try searching for its end,” Caesar said.
Alfonse nodded. “Let's just look around the academy. If the string goes beyond, let's go back.”
“Ugh. Fine.”
Tumblr media
When we went out of the office, there were Day Class students who were still present and walked around the corridor. While they passed through the string, they acted as if nothing was there.
“They can't see it, right?” I asked the two.
“Hmm…” Alfonse held out the book and started to read around the section where the spell was written. I didn't even notice he brought it. “It says here that those only present when the spell is cast would only be able to see the string.”
Relieved, I said, “Okay. Thanks, Alfonse.”
“Come on, let's go!” Caesar said.
The three of us walked around until we reached the courtyard. The orange glow of the sunset made it a bit difficult to see the string.
I squinted my eyes as I tried to see better when Alfonse asked out of the blue, “Hey, is the little prince your soulmate?”
The little prince?
“You mean 'baby prince’?” Caesar joked.
“Huh?” I turned to see Lucious as he walked towards our direction with his hands in his pockets. “N-No way!” The Prince of Nighttime couldn't possibly be the one… He's like a little brother to me!
As I thought in panic, Lucious reached us with a bored expression in his face. “You look suspicious. What are you guys doing?”
“Erm… This is going to sound a bit strange, Lucious, but could you – um…”
“What is it, Baroque? Spit it out.”
“Hi, I'm Alfonse. Nice to meet you,” he said with a smile on his face and reached a hand to Lucious to shake.
“I know who you are, Goldstein. What are you on about?” Lucious took his hands out of his pockets and nudged Alfonse's hand away.
“It's not him,” Alfonse said.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
“What are you talking about? Tell me what's going on!” Lucious demanded with an angry voice. Caesar gave him a brotherly pat on the back and proceeded to fill him in with the details.
“This sounds fun so count me in,” Lucious finally smiled and said.
The four of us walked through the courtyard as we chatted. The sky's color darkened as time passed which made the glow of the red string more apparent, although invisible in the eyes of Lucious.
Soon enough, we found ourselves in the deeper parts of the academy.
“Don't tell me…” Before I could finish my sentence, the red string has led us the last place we expected it to; the academy's graveyard. It still creeped me out no matter how many times I've been here.
We stopped walking and our line of sight followed the path of the string. It seemed to stop in one of the coffins.
Caesar ran the other side of the said coffin to check. “The string doesn't go through this side. It ends inside.”
I marched to the coffin. Upon closer inspection, it was etched with script I didn't recognize. I took a deep breath and set my hands out to open it.
The bright light from my palms made the script glow in response. With a rumble, the lid of the coffin opened by itself. Its inside emitted hazy fog and green light.
Caesar peeked in the coffin's inside. “Oh, it's the entrance to the Night Class.”
“Caesar, don't tell me you expected a corpse would be my soulmate?”
“O-Of course not!”
Tumblr media
One by one, the four of us climbed into the coffin. In no time at all, we were underground. I tried my best to step down the staircase correctly. The red string glowed within the darkness but it wasn't enough to be a light source.
“Ouch! That was my foot, Alfonse!”
“Sorry, Lucious.”
Their voices echoed through the void. Within a few minutes, we arrived at the section of the path lit with pale blue candles that made our journey down a little bit easier.
“Well, we're here,” Lucious said once we reached the bottom of the staircase.
Alfonse tapped my shoulder. “Are you nervous?”
“No, not really,” I answered. “I just hope it's not Viggo.”
“Talking about me behind my back, losers?” a voice spoke from the entrance.
“Viggo,” Caesar greeted with a sour expression on his face, “How nice to see you.”
“Technically, you were the one behind our backs, Viggo,” I informed him.
“Whatever,” he replied and narrowed his eyes at my raised pinky finger. “Out for some tea, are you?”
Before any of us could reply, Viggo had left with a swish of his Night Class robes.
“Ugh, let's go.” Caesar was first to follow the red string's direction.
The Night Class was such a stark contrast from ours. Every time I pass by their hallway, I couldn't help but make an internal comment about its resemblance to a prison. It used to scare me at first but little by little, I think I've gotten used to it.
The red string went on for quite some time. I was beginning to think there wouldn't be an end to it when Alfonse pointed out that it was bent to a different direction. In our quest to follow the string's direction, we found ourselves in front of a familiar door.
An angry voice from inside the room was audible from where we stood. “Didn't you see?! I finished it before you? So I win!
“No, I finished eating the last one before you,” another voice said, this one a little bit calmer.
“No way! I did! You've never beaten me in a hotdog eating contest!” There was a loud noise as one of the chairs fell down to the floor.
“No, I won. Don't assume you can always win. It's me this time.” A shuffling sound, as if the chair was pulled upright.
“Whatever! Let's race with hamburgers now!” By this time, the voices seemed to be louder, nearer.
“Sure. I'll win no matter how many times we try.”
“Humph! You'll regret saying that!”
The door flew open and a gaudy orange scarf welcomed my view. When I peeked at the hand which held the knob, I was overcome with shock. My vision focused on the rings he wore and the red string around his little finger.
Zeus Brundle, the pinnacle of all creations, alive or dead, was my soulmate.
“Hey, what are you guys doing here?” he asked, the bicker with Hiro temporarily forgotten, surprise evident in his voice.
“We were… um…” Caesar tried to find an explanation, in shock as well.
Before he could even finish his sentence, a magic circle appeared under my feet. In panic, I took a few steps backwards and managed to hold onto the person beside me before I started to fall.
The next thing I knew, I was back to the Prefect's office with Alfonse.
What just happened?
“So…” Alfonse spoke, “Zeus, huh?”
Tumblr media
That night, Caesar sent me a magic note that said not to worry since he and Lucious made up a white lie to get Zeus off our backs with the sudden appearance of the magic circle. At that moment, I couldn't be more thankful to my friends.
I needed time to gather my thoughts. The next day, I found myself avoiding their main subject of interest.
After one of my morning classes, I saw Zeus in the corridor as he craned his head around, clearly in search for someone.
“Hey, you!” His booming voice echoed through the corridor as I stealthily ran away.
It so happened that Elias had come out of an empty classroom. I recognized it as the one we used to practice magic in.
“Elias, help me!”
His amethyst eyes were wide both with shock and worry. “L-Liz? What's wrong? Are you alright?”
I heard the heavy footsteps of someone running towards our direction.
In panic, I opened the door and took refuge in the empty classroom only to leave Elias to deal with Zeus.
“Where is she?”
There was a long pause before Elias replied, “Who?”
“Don’t play dumb with me, Goldstein Number Three! Where's Liz?”
“Hey! Why am I 'Goldstein Number Three’ now?!”
“Whatever, you Loser Day Class student!”
I can only imagine the glare Elias must be giving Zeus.
“By the way,” Elias finally replied, “Klaus is looking for you.”
“What? Why is he in the academy again?!”
And that was all it took for Zeus to be distracted and leave.
Tumblr media
Later that day, I was walking back to the dorm when I saw some Day Class students playing Ladilz.
Guy was about to wave at me to join them when I saw that not only the Day Class students were there but also some Night Class students. The unmistakable orange scarf caught my eyes even from afar.
Sorry, Guy.
I pretended to be in haste and walked in a quick pace to the library, the last place Zeus would think of hanging out in.
Tumblr media
It was nearly nighttime when I decided that my attempts to read in the library had been futile. I walked back to the dorm and sighed. I thought about the box in my bag and what I should do with it.
It was then that a sudden pale blue light glowed on the ground. I looked downwards in confusion to see a magic circle beneath where I stood. It was a peculiar circle with some modifications.
There was only one person who made magic circles like this.
The brilliant light grew stronger until it masked my vision. I closed my eyes at the intensity of the brightness and felt myself being transported.
The next thing I knew, I was in the office of the Night Class Prefects.
In the corner of the room was Alfonse, a worried expression on his face. Beside him was Klaus, who rubbed his forehead in exasperation.
Caesar was present as well, although he seemed awkward with the turn of events. Lucious stood there, eyes wide. Hiro sat in one of the chairs, sleepy as ever.
In the middle of room, standing with his jaw slack, was Zeus.
“Zeus,” I called his name and looked at him in shock.
“W-Wait… I – I…” the pinnacle of all creations, alive or dead, stuttered. While it would have amused me on another day, the confusion took over.
It was then that Zeus, cherry red in the cheeks, ran out the door.
I looked to my other friends for an explanation. “What was that all about?”
“Sorry, Liz.” Alfonse was first to break the silence. “You see, Zeus was ranting how you've been weird since yesterday…”
“So, he used summoning magic to bring me here?” I clarified.
“Yes,” Klaus replied. “But not in the way you think.
“Caesar said something about soulmates,” Lucious told me. “And Zeus being Zeus… Well, you get the picture.”
“After King Kook's failed Strange Taffy summon,” Hiro rubbed his eyes and began to say, “That idiot wanted to show off his summoning magic and bragged how he could probably summon his… soulmate.”
As the pieces connected together, I ran to the door to follow Zeus.
There was only one place he would be right now.
I was right. I found him there in his usual table in the Night Cafe, as he stared blankly in the distance, a drink on the table untouched.
“Hey.” He turned to me with a slight shake of surprise.
When I sat across him, he didn't stop me. He kept quiet, which was so out of character for him it worried me.
I wondered how I should talk to him.
Zeus tapped his fingers twice on the table. In no time at all, a drink in front of me appeared. It was a vivid orange on top and a transparent red all the way down. A slice of orange decorated the rim of the glass.
“Thanks.” I looked away and took a sip. This drink took me back to the first time he took us here in the Night Café. It was the same one he got for me.
We spent the entire time in the Night Café in silence. When we finished our drinks, the both of us stood up and he mumbled something about walking me back to my dorm. I didn't mind.
We walked side by side in an uncomfortable silence and by the time we reached the academy's courtyard, I couldn't take it anymore.
“Zeus,” I began by calling his name, still clueless on how to approach the situation. “I'm sorry… for being weird.”
“You'd better be!” Zeus frowned, slightly back to his usual self. “Care to explain?”
So, I did. I told him about the Onmyo-jutsu and did my best to recount the events that transpired yesterday. I couldn't help but look away when I explained the part about the soulmates. After all, he did run away when he summoned… me.
When I finished my story, Zeus had his arms crossed as he reflected on what I told him.
I sighed and opened my bag. I took out the small box I kept there and cast a Clesko spell to turn it back to its original size. I've got nothing to lose at this point, so might as well.
“This is for you.” I handed him the box tied with a blue ribbon.
He looked at it with wide eyes but took it, nonetheless. “What's this?”
“Open it.”
When he did, he looked even more surprised, if that was even possible.
“You mentioned that you wanted orange cake last time,” I explained, “I baked that… yesterday morning.”
“Before the Hinomoto magic?”
My cheeks burned in embarrassment. “Yes.”
He hummed in response and seemed to be pleased with my answer.
“I figured you'd get your fair share of chocolates today so I wanted to give you something different.” I internally facepalmed as I babbled but I wasn't done yet. “I didn't know if I should give it to you… I don't want you to think that I'm only doing this because I found out that you're my… soulmate.”
Even if Zeus and I had an affinity with each other, it didn't necessarily mean that we would end up together, that I knew. Still, I wanted him to know how I felt for him.
“The truth is,” I gulped nervously, “I like you, Zeus. I've liked you for a long time now.”
I looked away, terrified of what his reaction might be. After my confession, there was a chance that Zeus would feel awkward and never talk to me again.
Or would he? After all, I was only a single line in his long list of admirers.
My thoughts were interrupted by his sudden outburst.
“Y-You – ! I was supposed to confess first!”
What?
I raised my eyes to meet his and couldn't help but notice that his cheeks were as flushed as mine, if not more. It was endearing.
He set the box on the bench near us and in a sudden motion, a bouquet of red roses was thrust into my hands. Did he have this all this time? Where did he even keep this?
An elegant white paper was used to wrap the flowers and a red ribbon tied them together at the bottom. The roses themselves were not in full bloom yet, but the flowers were larger than a typical rose.
“Wow… They're so beautiful…” There was nothing else I could describe the flowers as.
“Of course! Those are from our family's garden after all!” Despite his proud retort, the tone of his voice lacked its usual arrogance, as if he was relieved of my reaction.
“R-Really?”
“Yeah. In Queensblade.”
Oh, right. Zeus was from Queensblade.
The words I uttered yesterday echoed through my mind.
“Who knows, it might be someone from overseas, like Queensblade, maybe?”
With the ridiculousness of the situation, I laughed harder than ever.
“Hey! What's so funny?!” Zeus demanded, no doubt confused with my antics.
I flung my arms around his neck and stood on my tiptoes. “Thank you, Zeus. I'm so happy.”
After a few moments, he finally responded. “I like you too, you know? Since the very first day.” He wrapped his arms around me in return, in the same way he returned my feelings for him.
“What? Really?”
“Yes, really.” He began to run his fingers through my hair. “So, are we dating now?”
“I don't know.” I looked into his blue eyes, never been able to admire them as closely as before. “Are we?”
Under the moonlight, Zeus and I shared our first kiss. I knew, from that moment on, the fragrance of red roses would always remind me of this moment.

Hallows Eve Engadement pt 4
Ania POV
With a snap of my fingers, the haunt cleaned itself up. The minute the room turned normal, I was face to face with my grandfather, who, mind you, was looking rather concerned. Tears slowly fell from my eyes as I looked down in shame. His long fingers lifted my chin up, removing my tears with his thumb, and he pulled me into a warm but firm hug.
“I broke my promise. I said I’d never lose control but failed. I let you down, I let Klaus down, I-I... ” As I whimpered into his chest, he slowly stroked my back before speaking.
“Karma, look at me.” His voice had an authoritative tone, so I figured it best not to argue. Peeking up, I met with a familiar smile, the same gaze I saw the day I lost my parents. “You never broke your promise. You entrusted Tiva with the safe word I taught you just in case you lost control. Any other demon would have given into the urge and their pride and not told anyone their safe word.” With a smile, he ruffled my hair. Giggling, I tried to push his hand away.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right. I just feel bad because I’m afraid of what could happen with Klaus. What if he doesn't think the same? What if he leaves me for a mortal girl he can grow old with? What if-” Firmly, he placed his finger to my lips.
“Sweetheart, those are only what if’s, not realities. Soon enough, you'll understand that sometimes, you stress yourself out too much. Now, go enjoy the rest of your birthday.” Hades faded away into the dark shadow of the wall, leaving me in the room alone.
Out of the corner of my eyes, I noticed a faint shadow pass by. Rolling  my eyes I face the shadow and say. “Nice try, Undertaker. What are you doing here anyways?” Letting out his signature laugh, he replied.  “Can't a grandfather check up on his only granddaughter and wish her a frightful birthday?”
“Right…” I knew that the Undertaker’s motivations were almost always for pleasure and business combined. “Who are you taking away tonight?”
Silence. The shadow appeared to wince in pain as if I had pushed on a pressure point. It was clear to me that whoever he had to take away, the Undertaker would be doing so at his own dismay. Who could he possibly not want to take away? It disturbed me that for once, he was not happy about doing his duty to Death. If it wasn’t me, then… “So help me, if you're here for Klaus…”
The Undertaker laughed hysterically. “If it was him, I'd let you do it yourself. No, some random student is about to die of disease, and I was gonna make your cousin do the deed.”
Who’s my cousin again?” Silence. It took me a few seconds to realize who he meant. “Right… I forgot about that.” He kind of has a duty when it comes to teaching ‘new’ reapers. (You may be wondering how I’m related to a Reaper, but that’s a story best left alone... Maybe another night.) “Well, I'll let you go ahead and bug the cousin,” I said just as the shadow faded into my shadow.
Snapping my fingers, my armor faded away, replaced with a orange corset lined with black weaves that appeared to represent the thorns normally wound around my silver crown. A black skirt hiked up in front, cascading from my hips down to the floor. My shoes heightened, putting me in sleek black combat boots that zip up the sides. Being left alone in the room, I walked myself out the throne room doors.
The demonic melody filled the ballroom as Elias began playing classical Halloween medley Moon Trance. It was a catchy song, so it wasn’t a surprise the dance floor was soon crawling with people. On the other hand, no one wanted the center of the room, which resulted in awkward dancing. A familiar arm circled my waist slowly pulling me towards where everyone was dancing.
As Klaus dragged me towards the center, I remembered that I had the honor of announcing the Hallow’s Eve king and queen. Without even counting I knew who it would be. No demonic meddling involved... besides getting Zach’s help to pick the crown for the unlucky gal.  Zach was silently snickering while watching Tiva trying to get her boyfriend Luca Orlem to dance with her. They were both mysterious in their own right and Tiva loves his sadistic creativity, so it’s a win-win situation. Luca’s pranks ceased to hurt anyone, and Tiva FINALLY accepted Luca’s feelings even though it took him 7 months to succeed (But that’s only because Tiva’s a hard ass).
Resting my head on Klaus’s shoulder, we contently danced, ignoring the spotlight we were in. After all, demons don’t give a shit about anything unless it’s condemned souls for feeding or our closest friends. Being crowned Prince and Princess of the dance definitely wasn’t on that list (Damn you, Zach). Zach’s creepy yet familiar cackle filled the room. I couldn’t help sending Tiva a look that said, what the hell is he up to? The students stopped dancing and Elias made the music faint away, so Zach could continue his spheil. “It’s the time all you pathetic wizards have been waiting for. Your King, Queen, Prince, and Princess shall soon be announced!” Shooting my gaze to Tiva, I mouthed to her. DID YOU PUT HIM UP TO THIS? Tiva mouthed back, You’re the one in charge of this, not me!
Zach continued the greatly anticipated announcement, “On this Hallow’s Eve Night, the Prince and Princess is none other than our Emperor Klaus Goldstein and his lovely Empress Anyia Michaelis!” I smirked.
I knew exactly what was gonna happen next.
Nodding my head towards Zach, he continued. “Now for the main event. Your Hallow’s Eve King and Mysteriously lovely Queen are none other than our Favorite Prankster Luciano Orudeus Gedonelune (Luca Orlem) and the sneaky, insane, half-Reaper Tiva Nasia Nightshade!” (SPOILER ALERT) The look on their faces was the best thing ever.
*Time skip brought to you by hours of dancing and a lifetime supply of endless punishment for Zach*
Having taken many pictures and danced for hours, Klaus began to lead me somewhere alone in the light of the full moon. The music soon faded away, the endless woods remained semi-dark with an elegant shimmer from the moon, and Klaus’s figure continued to lead me along. Granted, I could see where I was going, but his sudden adventure still had me curious. The further we walked, the more aura shadows I noticed out of the corner of my eye. I wanted to know where he was taking me, so I gave in to the urge. “Nascha, where are you taking me?”
It’s been awhile since I last called him that, so I figured now was the best time. After all, we were ‘alone.’ Persistent in his guiding, he simply turned his head, smiled, and kept leading me deeper into the trees. Soon, we found ourselves in a open and wide field, with noticeable tombstones left and right. Once I spotted an ancient royalty headstone, I knew exactly which cemetery we were standing in.
“How did you even...” I was at a loss for words. There’s no way he could have found the forbidden Michaelis cemetery by himself, right? Before I could react, I began to hear a mysteriously familiar violin song playing from the distance (Song of a Caged Bird - Lindsey Stirling). I hadn’t heard Lindsey’s Song of a Caged Bird since... not since I last picked up my father’s violin and played it for his birthday, then his funeral. My eyes widened as unfamiliar tears began to fall from my demonic eyes. Shimmering dancing lights began to dance around alongside the music, replaying the days that my parents were still alive. It was a lie to say I didn’t desperately want them back.
Turning to Klaus, I could tell that this was his birthday present to me, an opportunity to see my parents one last time. Without saying a word, I walked up to him and buried myself in his arms. Holding me tightly, he whispered in my ear, “Koko, turn around and open your eyes.” Doing as he said, I turned around and was face to face with none other than my raven-haired father and blonde-haired mother. Covering my mouth, I couldn’t help letting out a quiet sob.
Naturally, my parents heard it.
My dad walked towards me and pulled me into his chest for an unusually heart-warming hug. Holding me closely, my mother came next to my dad and stroked my hair, speaking, “My little crow have grown into such a beautiful and powerful young lady.” My father scoffed, knowing full well that I would not accept such a title, and spoke in the soothing voice I’d so longed to hear, “Kitten, we’re sorry we weren’t able to be there for you like real parents, but we never left your side, not once.”
Gripping them both harder, I whispered, “If you were here the whole time, why couldn’t I see you all the time? I alway needed you both, even if I am a Demon-Reaper Wizardess.”
Smiling down at me, my father replied, “Silly kitten. You know full well that the dead resides on a different plane, with the exception of those who cannot or chooses not to move on. It doesn't mean that we aren't with you all the time. Especially not with part of ourselves inside of you.”
“I missed you so much. Do you have to leave again?”
“Who says we ever did? Happy birthday, little kitten,” my father lovingly said as he and my mother hugged me tightly. I closed my eyes to take in as much of them as I could. The tightness of the hug faded away, but the warmth never did. When I finally opened my eyes, they were gone, replaced by dancing lights that soon became faint as the song came to a close. Turning to Klaus, the rude brainiac who could be very sweet at times, I was met with a warm smile and kind eyes. Unable to hold myself back, I punched him in the arm before giving him a hug. “What was that for?”
“You made me cry. I don't like crying,” I replied with a smirk on my face. Rolling his eyes, he took his arms and wrapped them securely around my waist. Pulling me closer, he whispered sweet nothings into my ear before finally speaking in a nervous voice, “Ania, I want to ask you something. I’ve been meaning to ask for a while, but now, I cannot delay any longer.”
Klaus is NERVOUS? That’s unusual. He’s normally calm and composed, even in dire situations. He’s starting to worry me... What question could he possibly have that he’s been waiting to ask? I stared at him, waiting for him to keep talking. After a moment of awkward silence, he finally got the hint that I was waiting for him to ask whatever was on his mind. “Well…”
“Well?” I was starting to get impatient. And then, out of nowhere, Klaus kneeled on one knee only for him to pull out a small black box. Huh? He opened it, revealing an amethyst gold ring, and asked the last question I expected to come out of his mouth, “Anyia Kai Lainey Michaelis, will you marry me?” Wait a minute… WHAT?!?!
I was completely thrown off track. He’s not that good at keeping secrets from me! How could I have been so oblivious to this? Unless.... Looking out of the corner of my eye, I noticed two shadows, one fairly shorter than the other, standing in the trees. The tall shadow appeared to be snickering, whereas the other calmly walked up to the tall shadow and smacked him on the back of the head, only for said figure to kiss the shadow. Oh, Tiva. Of course Klaus asked for your help. At least she finally manned up enough to kiss Luca. Once I realized Klaus was still in front of me, I quickly looked back at him, nervously awaiting my answer.
I finally answered, “Yes.”
Sighing in relief, Klaus stood slipped the ring on my finger and pulled me to him with a smile. Peeking from the ring to his god-like features, I asked, “Are you sure you can handle me? I mean, I am a sadistic demon after all, Oh, and I forgot to mention that I'm also part Reaper.” Letting out a soft chuckle, Klaus replied, “Love, if I didn't think I could, I wouldn't have considered proposing in the first place.” Smiling widely, Klaus pulled me against his chest and laid a playful kiss to my neck, then to my lips.
This was One Hell of an Engagement on this Hallow’s Eve night.

Bae in Review: The Rating Scale
Greetings, lovelies!
Welcome to my new blog! I’m formally known as @krys-does-otome, making a slow comeback to tumblr. The old one is still up for nostalgia’s sake for those curious. Some content is going to be reposted from there, but, hopefully soon, new content will be posted soon!
Now, you may be wondering, what is a Bae in Review and why does it have a rating scale?
Back on the old otome blog, I did character reviews for various otome games, as well as gave my thoughts on their games.
And, I kinda miss doing this series.
So, I’ve decided to bring back my old reviews and give new ones a home here, back on tumblr.
So, how does this rating system work?
I based my ratings system off of JelloApocalypse's film reviews system on Youtube. The system consists of whole numbers from 1 to 10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best.
My previous rating system had some flaws as I couldn't make decisive decisions about the route's overall rating, especially giving some scores with decimals and fractions, so it was kind of a big mess. With this new system, I hope to make more concrete decisions on what felt about the character and the route in general.
Keep in mind that all of this is opinion-based and though I try to be fair to everyone, there's undoubtedly gonna be some bias here and there. You might like a character I hate, and you might hate a character I like, and that’s okay.
Just keep in mind that all of the ratings are subjective and might need to be taken with a grain of salt. Images may also be subject to change.
Also note that just because I gave a character a certain rating, that doesn't mean the entire game experience is hinged on this one, solitary character's score. I could love the entire game, save for this one element, or I could hate the entire thing with this character being it's only saving grace. These images are examples and, again, could be subject to change.
Characters with certain scores listed here might not be reflective of later given scores as some things might be subject to change, like I might change my mind about the character later on, for better or worse, if I decide to revisit their respective game at a later date. Now, onto the ratings!
----
1. Complete and Total Garbage
Tumblr media
(Luca Orlem, Wizardess Heart) It hurts to read or even think about these characters. This rating is only given to the worst of the worst. There's nothing to be gained here, and everything hurts.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Not a Complete Dumpster Fire
Tumblr media
(Alyn Crawford, Midnight Cinderella) Still very painful, but has one or two redeeming qualities that keep them from being a 1. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Can I Have the Ending Now?
Tumblr media
(Tei, Nameless: The One Thing You Must Recall) Also hurts, but not as badly. This is basically when you're checking your meters/the guide to see how much further you have to sit through the garbage. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Mediocre.
Tumblr media
(Satoru, Bad Apple Wars) They're not horrible but you didn't exactly enjoy yourself while playing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Average
Tumblr media
(Ray Blackwell, Ikemen Revolution) Yep, that was a route you just played. You didn't love it or hate them. It was just a route you played. It's just actively okay. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. The First Good Rating: Slightly Above Average
Tumblr media
(Landry, Hustle Cat) Slightly enjoyed them, and they didn't actively waste your time, but you probably won't be picking their route up again in the near future. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Really Above Average
Tumblr media
(Zen, Mystic Messenger)
A route or a character you did enjoy and would enjoy playing again, even if that re-play is in the distant future. Usually a good number for giving recommendations to people that are interested in the game, but aren't sure where to start or who to start with. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8. Good. Like, Really Good.
Tumblr media
(Kei Okazaki, Collar x Malice)
A solid route and character. Definitely a recommend to people who want to get into the game if they are just starting out. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9. Awesome
Tumblr media
(Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Ikemen Sengoku)
Awesome Route. Really engaging, and something you could recommend to others to play, even newcomers to the otome genre. Has some more off points that keep it from being a perfect 10, but is still a solid recommendation nonetheless. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10. God-tier
Tumblr media
(Souji Okita, Hakuoki)
Excellent route, excellent character, this is the stuff otome dreams are made of, a trail blazer within it’s genre. Does something with the story telling or characters that is so noteworthy, everyone that plays otome games should see and read for at least this specific route or character. Still has some minor flaws within it, but everything else is a must see.

Image ID: A chapter image done in the style of Wizardess Heart. A large, off-white imagine with a guy on it. He’s wearing a dark gray uniform. There’s a lavender bar over him that reads “Tsukasa Kuze.” The rest of the text reads “Main Story” and “Chapter 2: On the Very First Day” /End ID]
Chapter summary: It's my first day of classes and things are harder than I thought they'd be. And now something strange happens with Tsukasa...
The shrill ringing of my alarm woke me up and immediately my stomach was rolling. The strong smell of bacon and something sweet was strong in my room. If anything, it made my nausea worse. I didn’t even open my eyes as I turned my alarm clock off. Did I really have to get out of bed? Couldn’t I just sleep a little longer?
Five more minutes wouldn’t hurt…I plucked the clock from my nightstand and just as I was about to reset it, there was loud knocking on my door.
“Time to wake up! If you keep sleeping, you’ll miss breakfast!” Isabelle’s voice shouted from the other side. Ugh… With my stomach feeling so gross, maybe that’d be for the best. Would I be able to keep anything down right now, anyway?
“Okay, thanks, Isabelle!” I replied as cheerfully as I could given how little sleep I’d gotten. I groaned as I got out of bed. I hadn’t even done anything yet and I already felt dead tired. Somehow, I stumbled through getting dressed and ready for the day.
When I stepped out of my dorm room, the smell of breakfast just intensified. The door to our kitchen was open and as soon as she caught sight of me, Isabelle waved me in.
“Oh, there you are! We were wondering when you’d get up,” Aika greeted me. She was seated at the table, blonde hair tucked into a neat bun and make up done. How did she have energy for that? It felt so early, even though I knew it wasn’t.
“Your food’s gonna get cold,” Dorian spoke up. He was standing at a counter, pouring batter into a fancy-looking waffle maker.
“You made me breakfast?”
“Of course he did,” Isabelle said. “He cooks all our meals.”
“He’s totally the daddy of our dorm suite,” Aika added.
“How dare you make me go through the five stages of grief this early in the morning,” Isabelle hissed. Aika just shrugged, taking a sip of her cocoa.
“What? I’m not wrong,” she commented nonchalantly. “Also it’s like, eight in the evening.”
“YOU KNOW WHAT I MEANT!”
Unsure of what to say, I just grabbed the plate of food Dorian brusquely shoved towards me and sat down across from Isabelle, who now had her head down on the table. Dorian sighed and grabbed his own plate, sitting across from Aika. I cut into the fluffy omelet and cheese started spilling out. Dang, Dorian’s really making some fancy stuff.
“So, are you nervous?” Isabelle asked me, sitting up, chin resting on her hands.
“Oh, um… yeah, a little,” I told her.
“You’ll be fine. Your class has some total sweethearts,” she reassured me. That’s a relief. I already knew Tsukasa was a classmate, and if everyone was like him, I’d be able to make friends fast.
“You mean there’s four decent people out of fifteen in their class,” Dorian muttered under his breath. My stomach had slowly stopped feeling sick, but thanks to that quip, the nausea was back. There’s only four nice people in my class?
“I mean, that’s better than none!” Isabelle said hurriedly. She pouted before smiling at me. “Ugh, whatever. Anyway, you’re going to be fine. Your class is small and as long as you stick to the nice ones, you’ll be fine. You have Tsukasa, but you also have Hiro and Clive and you’ll love them.”
“Fandamilia is also very nice but jeez, she’s so energetic when she’s not drunk,” Dorian added. Aika glared at him, fixing her posture to be pin-straight.
“Dorian, are you trying to start a fight at the breakfast table?!” Her voice was harsh. Cold. She nervously glanced over to Isabelle, who had a similar look of fury on her face like Aika had had moments ago. “Isabelle, ignore him.”
“Don’t befriend Fandamilia,” Isabelle commanded.
“Our newbie can befriend who they want. Fandamilia is nice and even though she has her faults, she still deserves to have friends,” Dorian argued heatedly.
“Uh…” How was I supposed to react to this? It’s not like I knew Fandamilia and could say anything to support Isabelle or Dorian. There was no other choice but to just sit there and watch the scenario implode before my eyes.
“Isabelle doesn’t get along with Fandamilia anymore,” Aika whispered to me. But that didn’t really do anything to clear this up. Why didn’t they get along? Why were they friends in the first place? Why do I need to avoid Fandamilia? Dorian sighed and sat his teacup down onto the table a bit too forcefully, some tea sloshing over the side.
“Look, befriend her or don’t. Make the choice for yourself and not because Isabelle told you to,” he told me. His eyes were burning and I couldn’t do anything but sit there and wither under the pressure. Isabelle just rolled her eyes.
“I’m just trying to save them some heartache. It sucks when you befriend someone and then they try to justify some jerk’s terrible behavior,” she said. Oh. I guess that explains a little more. But I still wish I could get the full picture.
“I don’t like him either, but Fandamilia needs friends that aren’t Zeus,” Dorian said. “How do you expect her to grow if she doesn’t make more friends?”
“I don’t think you can even call them friends. He doesn’t really acknowledge her,” Aika lamented. She sighed, stirring her cocoa. She should just summon herself a boyfriend like I did.”
“What?” Did I hear that right? No, there’s no way I heard that right.
“Oh, a gender-reversed take on the ‘hur dur my wife’s a demon’ boomer joke. Classy. Innovative. Straights can keep their rights now,” Isabelle retorted.
“Oh my God, shut up. If I can’t be the cute one, I have to be the funny one,” Aika replied, just as fiery. Dorian just pouted at Isabelle.
“I can’t believe you’d call me or Aika straight. I might be dating Aika but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a nice, tall man willing to destroy this -”
“I HATE THIS FAMILY!” Aika shrieked. Dorian just snickered instead of finishing his sentence, but it’s not like I didn’t know what he was going to say. Part of me wanted to say, “let him speak,” but I don’t know if I can really joke around with them like that yet.
There was a knock on the wall and when I turned around in my seat, I saw Tsukasa sheepishly standing there. Everyone straightened up a bit.
“Oh, hey, Tsukasa. Care to join us?” Isabelle asked, starting to get up. But Tsukasa just shook his head and Isabelle plopped back down into her chair.
“No, thank you,” he told her before turning to face me. “I came to see if you were ready to head to class.”
“Me?!” It made my heart flutter a little bit, as strange as it was.
“Oh, really now…” Dorian commented, voice low. Aika reached over and lightly smacked Dorian’s arm at his mischievous tone. Something about it made me flustered and I started looking around wildly for my bag.
“Oh, um, give me a moment to do dishes,” I said. I started to stand up, but Dorian snapped and in an instant, my dishes floated into the sink.
“I take care of the dishes. Don’t worry about it,” he said, flashing me a smile.
“Are you sure?” I didn’t want to just let him do all the work, especially since he made breakfast.
“This is how it always is,” Aika told me. “Don’t let us keep you.”
“If you say so…” I grabbed my bag before joining Tsukasa. We fell in step with each other as we made our way to the classrooms.
“How did you sleep this morning?” he asked.
“I was out. The trip yesterday was more exhausting than I realized,” I laughed. Part of me wondered if I should bring up last night. He wasn’t really having a good time, but if he came to get me, then he must be feeling a bit better. And besides, maybe it wasn’t my place to pry into his life. “It’s weird how tiring travel is.”
“I know, right?” he said, a large smile on his face. “When my brother and I moved here, we were both so exhausted from the trip that we slept for a full day once we got to our inn.”
“You moved here?”
“Yeah. My brother and I lived in Hinomoto all our lives, but we moved to Gedonelune four years ago. It was right after my fourteenth birthday.”
“Oh, that’s exciting. Do you like it here?” I’d lived in Reitz my whole life. I didn’t really know much about Hinomoto other than it was an archipelago east of us. That was it, basically.
“I do. Hinomoto was really nice and I wouldn’t mind moving back, but I really like Gedonelune and I’m glad Azusa had us move.” That must be his brother. “We used to live in the imperial court and while it was nice living in luxury, I’m not a huge fan of having so many rules. I think some rules are necessary, but there were some that were just dumb.”
As Tsukasa told me about his life living among royalty, we got to campus. The hallways were full of students just milling around and it was the same inside our classroom. There were already some students in their seats, reading or sketching absentmindedly or just staring off into space. No one acknowledged us when we came in and no one said a word as Tsukasa lead me to the front row and sat down. I took the seat next to him, to the right of a girl with a big, green ponytail full of curls and in front of a guy with black hair with bleached ends. I quickly got my things out of my bag. I wanted to ask him how difficult classes were, but it’s not like I could now. What if someone overheard and made fun of me? The girl next to me didn’t seem like she’d notice since she was fidgeting with some paper, but the guy behind me had bad vibes radiating from him.
The bell abruptly rang and the remaining students filed in quickly. The girl next to me slumped a bit and put her paper away, taking out a notebook. The nerves in my stomach started to act up as more people came inside. This was really happening. My very first day of classes at Gedonelune Royal Magic Academy! I just hoped I could keep up with everyone else. Prefect Nox walked into the classroom, a smile on his face. Okay, this wasn’t bad at all! I had Tsukasa here with me and I had Prefect Nox teaching my first class!
“Okay, everyone here? Good. Let’s get started.” Nox leaned against the podium, eyes lazily scanning the classroom. We locked eyes and his grin widened. “Although, I guess I should introduce our new student.”
“Oh!” I shot up out of my chair, waving nervously to the rest of the class. Apathetic eyes met mine, if they looked up at all. Tsukasa was the only one who greeted me with a smile. That melted some of my nervousness away. “Hi, I’m the new transfer student!” I gave them my name. “Let’s, uh, let’s do our best to get along.”
“Sounds fake, but whatever,” someone spoke up. I couldn’t tell who it was. The rest of the class snickered and I sunk back into my seat. I glanced over to Tsukasa, but he was glaring at another student.
“That was rude.” Yikes, what that really Tsukasa talking back?! Sure, I didn’t know him well, but for him to sound so angry and ready to throw down was disconcerting, to say the least.
“Hey, let’s not get into a fight, okay?” Nox spoke up quickly. “Let’s just let it go and start class.”  He just plowed on, telling us to open our books. I reached out and tapped Tsukasa’s shoulder, leaning in towards him.
“Thank you,” I whispered. He smiled.
“Don’t mention it.” I’m so lucky to have Tsukasa in my class. But now I see what Dorian was talking about. People seem like they can be really snide here.
“All right, today we’re working on defensive magic,” Nox announced. “I know it doesn’t seem as cool as offensive magic, but if you can’t use defensive magic, you’re as good as dead in a fight. We’ll be going elemental shields today, specifically water. Can someone tell me what you’d call water when casting a spell?” Everyone’s eyes dropped to the ground, trying to avoid Prefect Nox’s eyes. “Fandamilia?”
“Uh… Aqua?” The girl with green curls answered, uncertain.
“Correct. Keep up the hard work, Millie.” She beamed. So that’s Fandamilia. She didn’t look at all like I imagined. She didn’t look at all like the mean girls from movies. “For today’s class, you’ll have to create a shield large enough to protect yourself and your partner. I’ll fire attacks at you and let’s hope your shields are strong enough. Get in pairs and then get in horizontal line from that wall to this one.”
My stomach knotted itself. The shield didn’t sound bad enough, but Prefect Nox testing it? That was what worried me. I looked around me, looking for a partner.
“Tsukasa? Do you want to partner up?” I asked him.
“I’d love to.” Again, he gave me one of those lovely warm smiles. Even though I was nervous about the assignment, seeing him smile settled my nerves. “Um… Would you like me to go first?”
“Oh, um, no, I can go first if you like,” I replied.
“All right. That’s fine with me.” I just nodded. We got in line and Prefect Nox, of course, went to the end closest to us. I could throw up then and there. I stared at the textbook, hoping that somehow, it’d help me conjure the shield easier. Student after student had success and my nausea got worse and worse. Prefect Nox arrived to us and I took a deep, shaky breath.
“O water, protect us from harm! Suctum aqua!” I waved my hand a large shield of still water appeared. I… I did it?! I’d never tried this spell before. Thank goodness it worked.
“That’s a great size,” Nox commented. “But let’s see if it’ll hold up. Sagitta aqua!” Several arrows of water easily pierced my shield and splashed into me. I coughed, letting the water drip out of my mouth. My shield dissipated. “Your shield looked a little thin. Next time, make it a little thicker and maybe try getting the water to swirl. That should help deflect some attacks,” he told me.
“Thank you.” I’m the first person in class to fail… I can’t cry. I’m not going to be the first person to fail AND the person who cried in class on their first day.
“水! (Mizu!)” Tsukasa quickly drew symbols into the air and a shield appeared. It was much smaller than anyone else's and Prefect Nox frowned.
“I think it needs to be bigger, but I’ll go ahead and attack. Sagitta aqua.” Again, water arrows went flying to Tsukasa. He lifted his shield but as soon as the arrows hit it, the whole thing broke and sprayed water on not just him, but me and the girl on his other side.
“I’m sorry, you two,” he said. He pulled out a handkerchief and gave it to me.
“Next time, make your shield bigger and keep it together. A shield that breaks means you’re going to get some serious injuries,” Nox critiqued.
“Thank you.”  Prefect Nox went over to Lyza and I saw Tsukasa’s shoulders slump ever so slightly. As awful as it was, part of me was relieved I wasn’t the only one that failed. But at the same time, I felt bad that Tsukasa had failed too. I put my hand on his bony shoulder, giving it a light squeeze. He turned to me and mirrored me, putting his hand on my shoulder and giving it a reassuring squeeze. Maybe we were going to be okay. A few more minutes passed and Prefect Nox reached the end of the line.
“All right, those were all good first tries,” Nox announced. “Let’s do this again and keep in mind my constructive criticism.” I almost gagged. Again?! We have to do this all over again?!
We didn’t improve much and by the time we were back in our seats, I was ready to take a nap. Who knew classes would be so exhausting?
“Good work today, guys. Here’s today’s results,” Nox said. He snapped his fingers and a large list appeared on the blackboard. My stomach dropped to the floor as I read the names and realize what it was. It was our names and our scores for the day. I kept reading and saw mine and Tsukasa’s names at the bottom of the list with only a few points each. Some kids were cheering, others gloating about how well they did. I just wanted to disappear into thin air.
“Are you okay?” Tsukasa’s gentle voice was in my ear, his hand on my shoulder.
“No. Why are our scores up on the board?”
“It’s like that for every class. It’s supposed to motivate us, but I think it’s kind of terrible.”
“No kidding.”
The rest of my classes didn’t go that well and by the time the final bell rung, I was ready to go back to my room and die in peace. Everyone was pretty quick to leave the classroom as I sluggishly put my stuff away.
“Hey. Are you okay?” Tsukasa inquired. I just sighed.
“Yeah, I guess. I didn’t know things were going to be so intense here,” I replied.
“I know what you mean. These classes are hard and on top of that, they make it like a competition.”
“I don’t see how this makes anyone motivated.”
“Everyone here is kind of competitive. Well, most everyone.” Somehow, that didn’t make things better. “If you’re worried about your grades, how about we go study together?” Tsukasa suggested. I didn’t know how much he could help me, but it’d be nice to suffer with someone else.
“Sure. We can go study for a while.” Wallowing in self-pity will have to wait. After all, I guess I do have to study hard so I’d be accepted as an official student.
The halls were already cleared of students, but in the distance I could hear faint chatter coming from near the entrance of campus. Hm. I wonder what that is? Tsukasa lead me down the hall and to two large wooden doors.
“I’m sure there will be some study rooms open for us,” Tsukasa said as he held the door open for me.
The library was massive. Shelves lined the walls and were standing proudly on the floor like soldiers, lined up perfectly and precisely. Tables were shoved into any space they could find that was out of the way of traffic. Tsukasa lead me through the stacks and to the back wall. Several doors lined the walls. Next to them were windows looking in to empty rooms. Again, Tsukasa opened a door and motioned for me to go in.
“Thank you.” What a gentleman. It was a cozy little room. There was a blackboard in addition to the table and chairs. Tsukasa took the seat across from me and started pulling his textbooks out.
“So, what do you want to study?” he asked.
“Uh…” “Everything” would be a bad answer, wouldn’t it? “Gosh, I don’t know… Is there anything you want to work on?”
“I don’t have a preference,” he responded. Great. More pressure. I know he was probably trying to be polite, but I had no idea what to do.
“Um… Man, I really don’t know. I feel like I have to work on everything,” I sighed, leaning back in my chair, arms crossed.
“We can study whatever you need to. I’ve got all night.”
“I don’t want you to ignore what you need to do for me, though. My failures shouldn’t cost you anything.”
“Hey, don’t say that.” He leaned in closer to me. “I’m not sacrificing what I need to do. We’re working together on things we both need. This is a two-way street.” Something about his words reassured me. It sounded so mature and certain. Well, maybe mature wasn’t the right word. Perhaps authoritative was a better term. He looked so strong in that moment. But in a second, he quickly looked away. “Sorry, was that weird? My brother says it all the time so I thought it would be comforting…”
“Pft… Haha!” The switch from confident to shy struck me as funny. But at the same time, it was so sweet he’d try comforting me when we hardly knew each other.
“It was comforting. Thank you, Tsukasa. I really appreciate it,” I told him. We shared smiles. All of a sudden, the crescent moon brooch on his cloak start to glow.
“What’s with your brooch?” he asked. Huh?
“Is mine glowing too?!” I asked.
“Wait, mine’s glowing?!”
We looked to our brooches and saw them glowing brighter and brighter until the light seemed to shoot out of the brooches. Sparkles mixed it the air and exploded like a firework, beautiful and fleeting.
“That’s pretty, but… What is that?” I asked him. He shrugged.
“Were you trying to cast something?”
“No. Were you?”
“No.” Then what was it? “I know sometimes if you sing well enough, magic crystals can form in the air. Maybe this is something like that? With friendship?” Friendship… Does he see me as a friend? … I suppose I see him as a friend…
“I… I guess it is.” Something about this situation felt so odd. It didn’t feel threatening or something, or bad, but still. I wondered what that magic was all about. Even as Tsukasa and I shared a smile over our new friend status, I still couldn’t help but wonder what had happened.

Surprise Encounter
Pairing: Lizzy/Rembrandt
Summary: What happens when Lizzy is on her own while on a mission with her group and accidentally runs into the past headmaster. (So I wrote this the other day cuz somehow one day he sneaked his way into my heart which yes I know the whole teacher/student relationship is usually a no no which I won’t go into a huge detail but also how could you not love him, he’s so pretty~)
Of all times this had to happen, while on the mission to find where Rembrandt and Felix were hiding I got separated from the rest of the group and what was worse; when I sneezed I turned into my fox form just my luck huh. I was running around as I was sniffing around trying to find any of my friends’ scent though there was a oddly familiar scent that I started to follow which I carefully walked around the new parts of a place I wasn’t familiar with.
“When I find them I’m gonna bite all their ankles,” I said to myself as I totally wasn’t scared or anything but like, it’s kind not comforting to being going around places you don’t know by yourself especially when looking for potentially dangerous dragonkin.
“Oh what do we have here, I wasn’t aware there would be foxes around here,” the voice causing me to freeze where I was as that voice sounded all too familiar as when I turned around as my bluish gray fur fluffed up as there stood none other than our last Headmaster Willem Rembrandt. He slowly took a few steps closer as I just stayed put as it didn’t seem like he recognized that it was even me which who knew what would've happened if he knew that information.
“Are you lost small one, you have nothing to fear I mean no harm,” he said as he had that same gentle expression in his eyes like he used to as it made me believe him as my chest aches just remembering the old days when he was still the Headmaster that was a kind man. Once close enough he now started to bend over as I started to tense up feeling him start to pick me up in his arms as he held me securely in which I looked up tilting my head to the side curiously while feeling a hand petting the top of my head. “I must admit you’re quite a lovely fox though I’ve never seen with your fur color before,” he said as he spoke in such a calm tone as it only constricted my chest more.
I looked around when I noticed we came into a really big open spacious room as this must of been there hideout as Rembrandt went over and took a seat in a chair though continuing to hold and gentle give me pets. “I must say you remind me of someone I knew back when I was the headmaster of the Royal academy,” he suddenly started to say when I started to internally panic as did he figure it out, as now I needed to be calmer than ever just so I wouldn’t blow my cover in which I looked up at him tilting my head again. “She was a lovely girl, one of the finest prefects that I had the pleasure working with; long hair that what they called it cotton candy blue, she had these sparkling soft blue eyes very much like yours,” he said as thank god animals don’t blush because I would be flustered beyond belief though hearing him talk about me made me happy but also curious of what else was going through Rembrandt’s mind.
“Lizzy was definitely a sweet soul that worked hard as well quite the trickster too though I think that’s what made her all the more endearing,” he continued to talk about me as he was smiling as he spoke so fondly of me as I prayed I didn’t turn back to normal soon or not only would things get awkward but also possibly go bad.
My tail swishing side to side happily as how could I not when someone that was dear to me still spoke of me highly in what seemed in a tone of admiration. “You’d love her if you ever had the chance to meet her… Though I guess one of the things I do regret is not being honest with her; the look in her eyes and just how sad she was when learning the truth, If only things were different, or I did things differently I’d still be able to see her bright smile everyday,” he said as the smile he had dropped to a frown as it brought back the pain of that day when the truth was revealed.
I let out a small whimper as my ears dropped in which he cupped my fluffy cheeks giving them gentle scratches as I heard light chuckling that seem to have a bit of sadness behind it. “My apologies I guess I got a bit too caught up in the past, though maybe one day I’ll build the courage to face her properly and have an honest talk with her,” he said smiling again after letting out a sigh as I shyly nuzzled into his touch as it was undeniably warm.
Though while some of the time spent here there was no sight of Felix though I guess that was a good thing. “Well little one you should be heading home shouldn’t you,” he said as he got up from where he was sitting as he was heading to where we entered from while carrying me as set me down and then patted my head one final time before standing back up properly. “I hope you have a safe venture home,” he said as I looked at him once more before looking forward and trotting off as now there was so many thoughts and questions that bombarded my brain as I wondered what else he had to say to me, but for now I gotta find the others as maybe it would be best if I kept this to myself.

Alternate:
“Oh what do we have here, I wasn’t aware there would be foxes around here,” the voice causing me to freeze where I was as that voice sounded all too familiar as when I turned around as my bluish gray fur fluffed up as there stood none other than our last Headmaster Willem Rembrandt. He slowly took a few steps closer as I just stayed put as it didn’t seem like he recognized that it was even me which who knew what would've happened if he knew that information.

I looked around when I noticed we came into a really big open space room as this must of been there hideout as Rembrandt went over and took a seat in a chair though continuing to cradle me slightly. “It has been sometime Lizzy though something tells me encountering each other like this was not your intention,” he suddenly said when my eyes widened in shock as I looked up at him as I started to internally panic as was this going to be bad news for me. “It seems you’re unable to talk in this form, allow me to be of assistance,” he said as I closed my eyes worried of what was to happen until a moment later I felt a small kiss on the top of my head in which once I opened my eyes again I was met with his steel blue eyes in which I felt my face getting warm as I suddenly came to realized that I ended up on his lap. “H-how did you know,” I asked as I started to move to get off of him; however, he had one arm stop me as I took a deep breath as I heard a small chuckle come from him.
“Truthfully how could I forget such vibrant and lovely blue eyes such as yours,” he said as I felt my cheeks getting warm as what made it worse was feeling his other hand gently rest on the side of my face as all of this was so confusing; wasn’t he going to trap me or attack me for trying to sneak around. “I-I don’t u-understand.. First you pretend you’re our headmaster a-and then you go working with Felix, a-and everything else that’s happened, a-and then right n-now,” I said as lord why did I have to stutter, clearly I was nervous but I couldn’t show weakness though when I look at him he seemed to be the Rembrandt I knew before we found out the truth.
“I have made a mess of things haven’t I… Honestly speaking I had wished that there were other ways of how things happened,” he said as he frowned as his gaze looked away from me as this was all just making me more confused. “I-I have so many questions but… At the same time I don’t know if I want to hear the answers that you possibly have for them… B-but I want to know; w-were we really just pawns to you? A group of students to do your work wholeheartedly without asking any questions to reach your ultermotive goal as we were left in the dark,” I asked as even saying it out loud was giving me chest pains as I frowned as I continued to look up at him.
It seemed that my question possibly struck a nerve as I felt the hand that was keeping me where I was tighten its grip slightly as he let out a sigh. “As… As harshly as you put it, it makes me feel all the worse of things but I didn’t view you or the others as pawns… I treasured each and one of you as you all were unique as I couldn’t of asked to of gotten to know a better group than you all; especially you,” he said now looking at me once again though he looked so sad as it made the feeling in my chest twist more. His thumb gently rubbing the side of my face as on instinct for some odd reason I leaned into his touch. “One of my biggest regrets was not being honest with you and the others, but if any of you had known the truth would you or the others had still assist me… I know I can’t undo what’s been done but to you I want to apologize because it seemed out of the others I hurt you the most and it broke my heart when I saw that sorrowful look in your eyes that day,” he said as it didn’t seem like he was lying though also part of me was scared to trust him as what if this was a way to distract me or something.
“I respected you as I truly believed you were a headmaster that was someone that would help raise and teach wizards and wizardess to become the absolute best versions of themselves for the future, a-as part of me still wants to believe that this is all a lie and you’re still the same Rembrandt I’ve come to know,” I said as I felt my eyes getting watery as a few tears fell. I soon felt his other hand cup the other side of my face as I had a small hiccup as a few more tears fell as I didn’t know what to think or how to feel about all of this. “I’m sorry, I know that it won’t fix the past and the emotional scars I’ve possibly inflicted but from the bottom of my heart I’m sorry for deceiving not only the others, but you most importantly as though it’s highly unprofessional and unethical but you are very important to me Lizzy,” he said as his voice seemed to have crack a bit as I felt him wiping the tears away as I hiccuped again.
I stayed silent though I felt my cheeks get warm as I felt my heart beating against my chest as his kind words touched my heart as it made me believe him as maybe it wasn’t too bad to possibly hold onto the last bit of hope that there was more to what Rembrandt was doing. Before anymore could be said another familiar voice could be heard behind us as his low tone sent a shiver down my spine. “Rembrandt what is that human girl doing here, nonetheless on your lap like a lapdog,” Felix’s voice said as I took in a sharp breath as I was too scared to look behind me as I felt the presence of a hand coming close until Rembrandt seemed to of caught his wrist before actually putting a hand on me while bringing me closer to his chest.
“You’re to keep your hands off of her as Lizzy is in my protective care… She is my treasured human in which I won’t allow you or anyone lay the slightest finger on her,” he said in a stern manner as it caused a fluttering feeling in my chest though that’ll most likely mean I would be unable to leave here which would most likely cause the guys to panic when trying to find me while I’m nowhere to be found. Felix seemed to glare for a moment before taking his hand away and stepping back a bit as he carefully watched the other dragonkin carefully. “It seems you’ve been growing soft on these humans, just make sure she stays out of our way, because if this becomes a problem I will rid of her myself,” he said giving a warning before walking off to do who knows what.
It was silent as the air felt tense before it seem to ease once the hooded dragonkin left the room which I let out my breath as I felt a bit shaken up. “My apologies as it seems I’ve gotten you involved into even more trouble… But I do promise I will protect you,” he said as I picked up my head and slowly nodded in agreement though it made me curious about when he called me his treasured human, what did he mean by that; though I’ll save that question for another time since already so much has happened and I don’t think I could take anymore shocking news or information for today.

Chapter 6: You killed him with your kiss!
A/N: this is sort of a longer chapter. Maybe it makes up for my lack of updates. Enjoy some Lulias and Alfonse fun.
***
I headed to the bathroom before going back to the main hall. I just didn’t want to go back to facing Hiro just yet. As I headed back into the glittering ballroom and down the stairs I spotted Hiro, sitting with Zeus and Mr Brundle. Zeus was still raving in his father’s ear, clearly the most distraught about his sister’s engagement to Klaus. Alfonse had been approached by a young blonde woman in a blue and white gown, who was very overtly flirting with him, her hand on his arm and leaning forward to flaunt her cleavage, so I opted not to disturb him. Luca and Elias were the only other ones I knew still at the table, so I headed over to talk to my friends.
‘Good evening, gentlemen,’ I teased, approaching the two boys.
‘Hey Simone.’
‘How’s your night going?’ I asked, moving to stand between them.
Luca answered with a charming grin, ‘marvelously!’
‘Please don’t be sarcastic,’ Elias muttered.
‘What? I wasn’t being sarcastic.’
I smiled at the little banter between the two lovebirds. ‘Give him some credit, Elias,’ I teased, ‘He is doing really well tonight, isn’t he?’
Elias glanced at me, then looked at Luca again. He gave the smallest little smile with pink in his cheeks before mumbling to the ground, ‘I suppose.’
‘Gee, thanks,’ Luca scoffed.
I smiled at the blushing golden boy and teased, ‘You’re doing pretty well yourself Elias.’
His blush only deepened. ‘What do you mean?’
I couldn’t help a laugh at his typical embarrassed response. ‘You were worried about bringing Luca here and him embarrassing you in front of everybody, weren’t you?’
‘What?’ Elias stammered. ‘Why did you tell her that?’
‘I didn’t tell her that!’ Luca defended.
‘Yeah you did,’ I mocked, ruffling the back of Luca’s hair. ‘It’s okay, you’re both doing really well.’
Both Luca and Elias turned a slight shade of pink, but Luca quickly straightened up and looked around me. ‘Hi Mrs Goldstein!’
I turned and saw behind me stood the lovely Lady Goldstein in her ecru lace gown, her golden hair pinned up with dainty pearls matching the string on her elegant neck. ‘Hello, Luca,’ she said with a graceful nod of her head.
‘Mother,’ murmured Elias, glancing at his mother but keeping his face down.
Mrs Goldstein turned her gentle gaze towards me. ‘You must be Simone, if I’m not mistaken?’
I curtseyed with a small bow of my head. ‘A pleasure to meet you, Lady Goldstein.’
She held out her hand towards me, tilted to the side just enough that I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to shake her hand or kiss it. I slowly placed my hand in hers and she gave a light squeeze of my fingers before drawing back, and I was so thankful I hadn’t made an ass of myself. ‘Victoria, thank you,’ she said, introducing herself. ‘You go to the Gedonelune Royal Magic Academy as well?’
‘I do,’ I said with a nod. ‘I’ve been friends with these two since my first day.’
‘That’s lovely.’ She beamed brightly at her son, and then at Luca, before returning her attention to me. ‘How long have you been at the academy?’
‘Uhh, just over two years now.’
‘You must be quite the competent wizardess now then?’
I couldn’t help my brash laugh. Clearly this woman had high expectations, but with sons like the Goldstein boys, I suppose it was to be expected. ‘Haha, sometimes,’ I mumbled.
Luca cut in with a wicked grin, ‘Simone has very particular talents, Mrs Goldstein.’
I flicked my foot backwards to kick Luca in the shin and murmured, ‘quiet you.’
We chatted with Mrs Goldstein for a few more minutes, but it wasn’t long before Mr Goldstein came over, asking politely if he could steal his wife away for a dance. He took his wife’s hand and lead her around the table to the dance floor, before sweeping her around in front of him and pulling her in to his arms.
Luca and I both watched Elias lean forward over the table, looking rather forlorn, as he watched his parents acting so romantically. I nudged Luca in the arm and when he looked up at me I nodded to Elias.
He sighed, and placed his glass down on the table. ‘Com’on Pr—’ He started as he stood, but cut himself off and corrected, ‘Elias.’
‘What?’
‘Come for a dance,’ Luca said, and then turned and headed off to the dance floor, not bothering to wait for Elias.
‘What?’ Elias asked again. He glanced at me, panic plain in his eyes. ‘Does he know how to dance?’
‘I dunno!’ I said. ‘Why would I know?’
‘Com’on, Elias!’ Luca called from the edge of the dance floor, backed by couples elegantly twirling about.
‘Go on,’ I urged.
Elias sighed, but reluctantly stood. ‘Fine,’ he huffed, then headed over to the dance floor for his waiting partner. Luca took his hand, leading him onto the dance floor side by side. I watched the older boy bring his young lover in front of him, just as Walter had done with his wife. He clasped one hand with Elias’, his other on the younger boy’s waist, and Elias’ hand on Luca’s shoulder. Luca led in a simple waltz-like dance, guiding Elias across the floor. I couldn’t help but feel a little bit proud of the adorable pair, and of Luca’s improved dancing skills as he pulled Elias through a simple spin. Elias’ face was beet red, but he couldn’t stop smiling.
As adorable as Luca and Elias were though, I was now alone. I glanced up the table, seeing if there was anyone else I could talk to, but most of the rest of the table was bare. I noticed Mr and Mrs Brundle heading off for a dance, leaving Zeus at the table alone.
I crossed over to the grumpy Zeus, slouched in his chair with his arms folded. ‘Hey.’
‘Huh?’ He grunted and looked up at me as I took a seat next to him. ‘Oh, hey.’ He was obviously foul about tonight’s announcement.
‘Not happy about having Klaus as your brother in law, are ya?’
‘It would’ve been nice if they asked me about it first,’ he muttered.
‘Ha,’ I scoffed. ‘I don’t think they need your permission to marry off their daughter. Besides, you’re gonna be the uncle of the future King or Queen. I thought you’d be happy about that at least.’
‘Hmm,’ he murmured. ‘I guess you’re right. But they still should’ve consulted me first! I’m the one who knows Goldstein the best. He’s not right for her!’
I murmured in agreement, looking across the dancefloor for the lady in question. Neither Athena nor Klaus were anywhere in sight. ‘I can tell she’s not so keen on it. I wouldn’t really want to be forced into a marriage and have no say in it.’ I turned to Zeus with a bright smile and asked, ‘speaking of which, when are you getting married off?’
‘Never!’
‘You think so?’ I teased. ‘You don’t think your parents have a plan for you?’
‘They wouldn’t dare,’ Zeus growled. He threw back the rest of his drink, glaring at the dance floor, probably at his parents, then stood up. ‘I gotta pee,’ he announced. ‘You coming?’
I drew back at his odd request. ‘What, need me to hold your hand?’ I teased.
‘No!’ he shouted. ‘You can walk with me. Or would you rather sit here on your own?’
For once in his life, he had a valid point. I didn’t really want to be alone here. I stood up as I said, ‘I’ll come for a walk.’
‘Damn straight.’
We headed back up the grand staircase, still chatting about Zeus’ prospects for a future wife. Apparently there were a few young noblewomen here that he had not yet made their acquaintance, but he noted he planned to remedy that by the end of the night.
The men’s bathroom was the second door on the left, while the women’s was the third. I left Zeus to pee without needing his hand held and headed on towards the women’s bathroom again, but before I could get there, I heard Zeus shout, ‘What the hell are you doing in here?!’
I backtracked to peek over Zeus’ shoulder still holding the door open and saw inside the small sitting room was Alfonse and the noblewoman who had been flirting with him before, the latter with her arms locked around Alfonse. Alfonse’s cheeks were bright red and the woman called out with surprise, ‘Zeus!’
‘This is the men’s bathroom, get out!’ Zeus snapped.
While Alfonse seemed happy to try to escape the woman’s embrace, the woman simply tightened her arms around him and snapped back at Zeus, ‘we were just having a moment alone, if you don’t mind.’
‘Actually—’ Alfonse started.
‘Well, have it elsewhere!’ Zeus cut him off. ‘You’re not allowed in here, unless you’ve grown a dick since I last saw you!’
‘Zeus!’ Alfonse nearly jumped out of his skin at hearing Zeus shout something so crude so loudly.
The woman was unperturbed. ‘Whether I have or haven’t is none of your business, Zeus Brundle,’ she stated. ‘You made your opinion of me quite clear.’
‘Wait,’ Alfonse asked, looking between the woman practically on top of him, and Zeus in the doorway. ‘You two know each other?’
‘Ha!’ Zeus barked, grinning from ear to ear. ‘Yes, she’s my ex. Can’t have the pinnacle of all creations anymore, so you’re chasing after a Goldstein now?’
The red in Alfonse’s pale skin deepened as his eyes widened. ‘No, that’s not—’ he stammered defensively. ‘This isn’t what it looks like!!’
The woman adjusted her grip on Alfonse again, pulling him even closer. ‘This is exactly what it looks like,’ she sneered. ‘And Alfonse is a definitely upgrade from you.’
‘What did you say?!’
‘Hang on, I never—’ Alfonse tried to interject again, but his desperate arguments were completely ignored. Instead, the woman leant up, one hand entwining through the back of his golden curls and her lips pressing against his in a deep, open-mouthed kiss.
Alfonse froze. His eyes were wide and hands glued to his sides. Even Zeus seemed just as shocked, watching his ex-girlfriend passionately lock lips with Alfonse.
Someone leaned over my shoulder, peeking into the bathroom. I glanced behind me and noticed that all the shouting had drawn a small crowd of a half dozen or so. One older gentleman whispered to his wife beside him, asking if that was Alfonse Goldstein. This little stunt was not helping Alfonse’s public appearance.
The woman drew back from Alfonse, a triumphant smirk on her face as she turned to grin at Zeus. Before she could open her mouth though, Alfonse finally got her attention, falling forward to collapse in front of her and hitting his head on the arm of a lounge chair on his way down.
‘Ha!’ Zeus laughed. ‘You killed him with your kiss!’
Zeus didn’t care, but I did. I pushed past him into the small room and dropped to my knees by the unconscious man, calling out, ‘Alfonse!’
