tags from one of my older posts that i dug up because. i love to talk about seam. in general the darkners feel very much like they've had lives long before we entered the picture — there's a very palpable sense that they're getting peeks into something that's both very cohesive and very established. as susie says, she feels as though discovering the dark worlds feels like she and kris have stumbled into something very important, and although ralsei isn't a lightner like them, he's going off a prophecy and a peek at fate. the world beyond castle town is something he's entering into for the first time, too. (kris and ralsei know more than they let on to the others about the mechanics of deltarune, of course, but they're still very much outsiders when it comes to exploring the world beyond what they know people-wise.) the older darkners especially live lives that seem just out of sight right now — from the histories of queen with the card kingdom court, to spamton's big shot era, to jevil and seam and their first forays into madness. seam and swatch especially seem cagey — being darkners, of course, they can't do much to stop your prying, but they're the types to condescend when they can and talk to you very much like the prying newcomers you're quite directly playing as. seam especially seems to have no qualms about being cagey with you, especially because there's a sort of game to them in doing so and knowing it won't matter in the end. they're quite a sharp personality and it's one of the things that fascinates me a lot about them!

its such a small thing in the scheme of all the things that annoy me about the show macgyver 2016

theyre talking the whole episode about the ‘peace talks at the un’ and they never specify any countries involved or what conflict theyre talking about

i think she and shadow are close but dont actually hang out that often. they dont talk openly about how theyre feeling, dont tell detailed stories about what theyve been doing, but a coffee chat once a month and several unpredictable team adventures is more than enough to keep their friendship going

rouge keeps a lot of her thoughts and feelings to herself, even more than shadow does. her status as a manipulator and her philosophies about how one should live make her very detached from the people around her, even those she cares about. she prioritizes her own interests. i think shadow is interesting to her

going to self indulgent here and explain why i think a specific song i placed into their playlist makes me think of them. it’s pretty long (like ten minutes) but the mental imagery always captivates me

to me is about swap joining/formulating the star sanses with their first multiverse friends. but the connection they NEED isn’t there. the connections theyre craving arent there. dream themself is still getting used to forming those deep connections or refuses to due to the influence of their aura and the potential codependency that may develop due to it. and ink is not looking to view these guys as more than "characters" (for his mental safety tbh)

swap possibly sorting through their feelings. he begins seeking out other friends, or places he can relax outside of his home universe. at this point he knows of error and their interests. or outertale was mentioned at some point. either way, he seeks comfort in that universe

this is swap directly communicating his feelings to outer after forming that bond. outer themself rarely left their home universe, opting to welcome monsters that visit the place. outertale is like a tourist stop in that way or at least a place frequently visited by others. it took some time for outer to move past cagey and distrustful to being more open (which isnt by much)

i met you through the television screen. i fell in love with the guy smiling at the audience. and now this love is praecox feeling. and now this love is aspect dawning

swap thinking about ink. possibly learning about ink’s ‘mentality’ and how he only sees them all as ‘characters’. swap’s idolization of dream too! believing that they had the full picture for everything.

swap saw these two as gods almost. beings higher than him. their treatment of their relationship (not deepening their bond past 'coworkers') didnt help to dissuade swap's initial idolization, causing it to snowball into something more severe and possibly toxic.

i can also see this as swap developing a crush on dream but thats pretty 'straight-from-the-lyrics' to me. and i personally view them as best friends

error is around too but they dont exactly talk too much. silent acknowledgment and mutual "youre alright" relationship. i can definitely see outer drawing someone like nightmare to them bc of the quiet atmosphere and lack of an ulterior motive

ok so i posted early this morning how i ran into the woman whose dog bit me. it was like six AM and i was groggy and alone and she seemed annoyed and cagey so all i could do was ask if he had his shots (she said yes but tbh i dont trust her)

the dog to my memory had no muzzle on. she had to pull it aside and hold his snout as she spoke to me, as he was still growling and snapping a bit. she said "sorry, he's in training now." i was too nervous to get her name or address but i know where she lives bc it was the exact same spot i was bit in, six hours off from the time of day when i got bit. so i can pretty easily track her down if they walk him in the same area multiple times a day every day. running into them unintentionally twice in the same week shows that

the thing is my parents have been pushing me to file a police report and sue. and i dont know what to do. i said i didnt want to involve cops and im nervous theyre gonna euthanize the dog. there's also the fact that this wasnt very far from my house and i can run into them and they could feasibly rile up neighborhood hostility towards me if i get their dog killed. but on top of this, they were STILL walking the dog despite him being visibly aggressive with no muzzle. they seemed terrified of what i was gonna say to them but not scared enough to not risk another bite. i dont know what to do honestly.

Since i know you said this was the end of the xiao talk, i’ll keep this pretty breif

people tend to stay away from Xiao because they are very closed off and only speak to their friends, but it’s not that hard to get to know him and appreciate things. Yes, he’s made some mistakes, but he’s being blamed for a lot right now, which i don’t think is really fair. Plus the heavy lack of proof on things lol.

as for where you said you might apply for mod, that would be interesting. You’d continue to run the blog i’m sure, but I feel like you’d might run into a few troubles trying to handle both. If you do however, i’d be excited to see where that heads. your judgment is good on a lot of the topics that come up here, it would be nice to see your stance on things.

yeah i can understand people not liking someone just out of not liking them, but its a different beast when people come in my inbox saying that they were WHOLLY responsible for the Reckoning. like i feel like thats just factually incorrect. you dont need a moral reason to dislike someone, sometimes you can just say someone annoys you.

as for the mod stuff, i would love to apply for mod when/if applications open. with bug and coy in charge it felt very cagey and honestly kind of imposing, but im very inclined to apply now just from the fact that tycho went out of his way to reach out and talk directly about critique (yk, the stuff that actually holds weight, not us just going “coy sux lol.” its fun to make the jokes but someones gotta sit here and sort out the real critique from the shitposting lol), it really gave me a good feeling and i have a lot of hope knowing he has executive control now.

youre right about the troubles with handling both. i honestly dont know if i could hand the blog off to someone else since ive kind of made it circle around my own voice but i think that i wanna implement new rules on here just to make it more palatable (mainly the namedropping stuff)

i think if i did get on the mod team i would keep the blog running but maybe make some changes to things here, just stuff to maybe curb back the way that topics got pretty aggressive. i think it could be interesting to have a direct line of contact from anons to the mod team, and with the fact that theyre probably never gonna bring back anonymous suggestions, i think i could be able to sort out the stuff that holds no weight from the stuff that actually makes good points and pass them along.

and im unsure if i would even make it known whether or not i became a mod because a. privacy concerns, and b. i wouldnt want to make any other members uncomfortable because i know that vent blogs like this are really polarizing.

* prrrobably a necromancer (idk elite spec yet..). instead of feasting on JUST life force, her connection to the nightmare allows her to feed on the fear of those around her. thus i associate her with the soul reaping core specialization! :]

* themed like a wolfsbane plant! a poisonous, beautiful purple color. her accents may be orange and/or green for some nice contrast

* still young for a sylvari; she USED to be a dreamer before she got alien beamed away by nightmare courtiers who wanted to use her budding necromancy to their advantage. promising they'd show her much greater things it was capable of, she decided. huh! okay! :]

* funnily enough she actually isnt like. overtly sadistic or malicious. she WILL deal excruciating pain to others, but moreso because she was told to rather than her actually wanting to hurt anyone... or because she got bored and pain is the only "enriching activity" she knows /lh

* he/him masc norn... im going in girl-boy-girl-boy order so this one gets to be a dude :]

* former follower of either raven or leopard, but was convinced to join svanir at a pretty young age because he struggled to fit in with other norn... svanir promised him a home: a convincing temptation

* pretty cut and corner svanir (excluding the whole misogyny thing). reveres jormag. he especially feels that jormag is the superior spirit, due to the fact it not only is a WHOLE ASS DRAGON, but it also is tangible. jormag has been seen and wounded and attacked before; the other spirits, while you CAN see them, he finds are incorporeal and therefore just spectres unworthy of the praise they get

* a ranger! i imagine he tames mostly ice wurms, but he also takes in beasts tainted by the ice dragon's corruption. he is surprisingly (to others at least) kind to his beasts, and they fight with a fierce loyalty at his side. idk elite spec yet ... bleehh

* very unnerving, even to other svanir sometimes. he's very quick and trick; like nature, he is a fickle creature and does what he seems to please. and get on his bad side, and you may suddenly find yourself hunted by gleaming eyes in the blinding shiverpeak blizzards.

* she/her charr. i just think flame legion ladies are neat :]

* born into flame legion. her father was a powerful shaman, and her mother a gladium who was manipulated by her mate into becoming flame.

* being a lady in flame legion isnt fun to nobody's surprise, so initally she was just Some Guy's Lame Daughter until it was revealed she has elementalist magic... Something her sire was keenly interested in. After much fighting on the matter, she was allowed to practice being a shaman, even being granted an honorary title. (Though nobody. calls her it really)

* AS MENTIONED shes an elementalist! her main and favored attunement is fire (duh /j), but she is impressively powerful and manipulates all elements with relative ease, especially earth alongside fire. water and air are sort of novelties or in a pitch healing elements for her.

* a pretty quiet lady. .... TOO quiet, sometimes. she always appears deep in thought, contemplating something that nobody never really knows. she doesnt speak unless spoken to, and generally is very cagey and guarded.

* very Customer Service Pleasant. he's actually a very mean and uptight person but hes surprisingly easy to please if he gets what he wants. very intelligent in terms of politics and like another oc of mine (hi srabba) he wishes to seize the area around the thaumanovas reactor in order to utilize the chaotic energies lurking around...

1. what’s the lie your character says most often

"it's whatever. Don't look into it." Wrong. Look into it so much. Technically not a lie, but it's the opposite of what ithvozal would actually want to happen, so it could be called a lie if u look at it at a 37 degree angle. The best way to describe it would be kind of a tsundere thing?? They just aren't used to being nice to people on purpose, so when they are they get a little cagey and annoyed about it.

As for real lies, they avoid them as much as possible. Things always get confusing when all the info doesn't line up, which is something they hate more than anything

Alriac doesn’t make a habit of lying, but out of everything he’s prolly lied most about his ability to just kinda. Turn into a merman on command. And everything related to that. He also lies quite a lot about where he goes to anyone that asks. He’s never said the same place twice.

Ithvozal didn't grow up around a lot of new ish people, like travelers and whatnot, and most of the people they grew up with didn't have the expectation of performing emotions to the degree that most people would consider normal. Because of this they appear to be very stoic to the usual traveler or surface dweller. If you know them well it's very obvious that they emote quite a lot, if not as strongly. They're the type of character that gets accused of being emotionless and cold by the fandom

Oh alriac absolutely wears his heart on his sleeve. He's never concealed anything a day in his life and everyone he's ever known knows that. He cried because he accidentally startled a really cute fish. He cried because he thought birds didn't live any longer than a week. He's been absolutely ecstatic over a bee landing on his arm. He is so full of joy and whimsy that it's physically impossible to keep it all in.

9. do they give tough love or gentle love most often? Which do they prefer to receive?

Oh ithvozal gives only the toughest of love! When demonstrating it via things like gifts and actions it's very obvious that they're extremely thoughtful about what they're doing, but when it comes to more direct things like physical affection or thankfulness it's a lot harder to tell that it's love and not just how you'd affectionately bully a friend. They mostly use weaker punches when doing physical affection, but their version of a weak punch is the same as most people trying to actually fight. Hence a lot of the meaning kind of gets misconstrued with those. They prefer indirect things like actions and gifts, but they're not opposed to other types of love from the right people. They're used to tough love, but gentle love is also very appreciated.

Alriac doesn't necessarily have gentle love, per se, but it's not tough love. It's more extremely intense than anything else. Like when a cat loves you so much they're very strongly kneading against your leg, and like yeah those claws are digging into your skin like hell but theyre just so cute and sweet and they mean so well, so can you really blame em?? He needs to get told to calm down sometimes, but he doesn't mind. As long as he can still demonstrate his love he's happy. He likes it when people match his energy, no matter what type of love it is. Ithvozal is great friends with him for this reason! They get pretty close to matching it in his eyes.

12. what’s something that makes them laugh a little every time? Be specific!

Ithvozal doesn’t really surround themselves with things that would be considered funny/particularly joyful by most standards, but they always get a kick out of the dwarven automata being a little dumb. Between the spiders that are prone to falling off ledges and getting startled to the spheres that smack their heads on shelves, there’s plenty of things to laugh at with them. Alriac is also a rather large source of laughs for them :)

Alriac finds quite a few things laughable, but his favorite is when he messes with sailors as they panic over a ‘ghost’ on their ship(which is just him climbing up there and spooking people and messing with stuff lol). He collects jokes and stories to tell to Ithvozal as well, to try and get at least a smirk outta em! He’s gotta make up for lost time, since they didn’t become friends until about 100 years into their lives.

Ayatou Evruku at your service or like. Whatever. Descendant of The DEEPFANG, Ayatou doesn't give a shit about all that lineage shit and barely had a lusus.. so who the fuck cares? Theyre a rather prickly fella, often called heartless by their more dramatic of friends. Alas, he doesn't share his feelings too publicly. Many failed romances turned them cagey and made them apprehensive to open up to others. Blackmailed and lied about.. bullied and picked at.. Yeah Ayatou has been through it.

A once rather friendly kid with some anger issues, they were the charmer. Frequently seen as a "playboy" of their community due to their troubles and seemingly no desire to go steady. Everyone expected them to eventually break out of that. Mature.. but it never seemed to fade away..

Forced to drop out of college early on, Ayatou boasts an incomplete social media manager degree. Due to.. a former red they used to be with sabotaging them. Overly Obsessive and clingy.. Ayatou wasn't the type to humor it.. and instead of gritting their teeth. They decided to abandon it completely. Being chased our of their school and out of their home town. Unbeknownst to them, their Lusus long left.. leaving Ayatou alone. He didn't plan on letting some stupid shit like this happen again. So he would move on as a person.

The indigo uses their time now to travel around and try different food spots. Writing scathing or very positive reviews. He's honest and says it how it is. Not afraid to be truthful and lay it out on the table. Ayatous friends that they've made along the way seem to regard him as a softie at heart, showing his love through food and gifts rather than talking and touch. Often dragging people away from what they're doing or patching up idiots getting into fights..

Speaking of fights, Ayatou often finds themself in them. Butting heads and challenging others when they've become too much of a problem..

watched the first episode of otona precure with maddy and im liking it so far. its still very all ages so far but with a very adult level of bluntness that contrasts in a kind of funny way with just how much the show remains true to its roots.

really interested to see where they go from here. its nice the splash star stuff is more integrated into the story than i expected also. personally i hope they dont de-age when they transform. im kind of expecting it but theyre being obviously very cagey while also very clearly teasing new transformation stuff so it's kind of a toss up. i think them de-aging would still fit the themes theyre going for but also i want. adult cures the whole way. sue me.

also its extremally funny bunbee essentially gets the same level of billing in the op as all the love interest boys. they'e right to do this.

idk why im so shy about saying it but i got my last job back, at the metaphysical store, the one i had to leave because of covid and stay gone from because i got so sick and then moved across town. theyre opening a new spot 6 minutes from my apartment. i had not spoken to the owner since mid 2020 but when i hit him up he held no ill will for me leaving, and was more than excited to see me again and offer me a job. im working double shifts rn to help the new spot get ready to open. i spoke to him yesterday and im already working! he hired me on the spot, and today as i was working i remembered how good he is at communicating, how clearly he lays out his wishes. any idea i came to him with he accepted, him and i are very similarly minded when it comes to organization, and since i have way more retail experience than him, he trusts me. he TRUSTS me. he’s not shy or cagey or passive aggressive, he hears me out when i justify my actions and its quick and easy to find compromise. i missed the energy, truly, and im happy to be back. its an environment much more conducive to creativity and just. being able to breathe.

#im going in with few expectations save that Work is Work and it will always be Work #but its a new project i actually get a say in and i know he MEANS it #instead of continuously making false promises only to tug the rug out from under me
