I think we did great in the challenge. We had a lot of fun. I think we should get to know each other well first, know the strengths and weaknesses of each other and try to work with it to our advantage, by that we can win challenges.

I feel good! Very welcomed and I’ve had a lot of fun so far! I think bc OG Tromoya ppl knew a little bit of the dynamics of the OG Hidra coming into the swap I actually have a slightly clearer idea of what’s going on now. And now bc of the swap there is some history there that can help me understand the dynamics.

If there’s a power struggle brewing I definitely am not aware of it. I like to think because we’re playing Survivor there’s always wiggle room. I don’t got much to say tonight because work is kicking my ass 🫡😭

I think I have ok odds. I think our tribe is very positive and strong and that we have a good chance at winning the next challenge you throw at us. I’m just trying to make connections now and hope that they help me when we get to that stage

Toni, if you were going to rank the players in this game on honesty, where would they fall? How do you decide when to tell the truth and when to lie in a game that requires both?

If I were to rank the current Hidra members on honesty I think I would be wrong 😅 I’m basically rebuilding and reframing all my relationships after the swap. It’s hard to decide who to tell the truth to and who to withhold that from I think ultimately I try not to think too much. My gut tells me everything I need to know.

Trinica, why do you think that AJ was ultimately selected tribe captain? Do you think she was the right choice? Why?

I think the former Tromoya tribe has been very united, we saw that in their first tribal and I believe they all discussed their vote for captains before voting (which former Hidra...did not lol). So I think AJ was voted captain because she's young and former Tromoya all saw the tribal where she was targeted and felt bad for her.

I was nervous about AJ being captain, obviously I would have preferred to have some control over that situation. But former Hidra was so disconnected that I don't know if there are many of them I would have been comfortable with as captain LMAO. AJ seems very determined which is a good quality in a leader. But only time will tell!

(back in the days when the SMRP group ruled all) but from around I’d say… 2014-2015 that’s when all of tumblr RP began to shift really & with it went along our little fandom as well. Suddenly everyone was getting all up in the discourse regarding fancy graphics/formatting/themes & selective vs non-selective. Cliques started up & a lot of people took issue with that & the fandom was targeted a lot. In this case I honestly don’t even blame the fandom for being so closed off during this time period tbh cause man if you would’ve seen the shit that had gone down… There was drama on the dash & callouts & vauging nearly every other day I think that would make pretty much the whole of any fandom skittish & slow to warm up to newcomers!

To be perfectly honest, I personally don’t really see the problem with cliques?? Like EVERYONE new has to pay their dues when it comes to tightly established groups it’s like that in real life too. I find that as long as you’re not a jerk & put yourself out there people will eventually warm up to you & slowly but surely you’ll be let in or find your own little group, usually the ones that tend to whine & complain straight off the bat about ‘unaccepting & cliquish fandoms’ are ones that don’t even try & expect everything handed to them as soon as they enter a community & I’m sorry but that’s not how it works?? Like at all??

Though I will admit there IS one very problematic aspect when it comes to cliques & that’s when it comes to callout culture & feuds. Tbh this is related to tumblr’s mob mentality & sheep-like culture as a whole but man is it REALLY bad here on the RP side of things! Basically what happens is if you’re in a clique & a really tight & popular insider happens to get into a feud with someone outside the clique & then calls you out and/or vagues about you on their blog… Then you’re pretty much finished, all the other clique members will now step in line, refuse to think for themselves & get BOTH sides of the story & will automatically unfollow & block en masse. The the ones who you thought you were on pretty good terms with before the shitstorm occurred? Sorry, you’re now dead to them too & they won’t even bother hearing out your side because insider members always come first, objectivity & fairness has no place when it comes to the power of seniority & clique connections.

Now granted SOMETIMES this is justified, especially when ppl bring the receipts & there’s valid proof something particularly nefarious was going on with the individual being shunned (such as stealing, force shipping, being a hate anon sender, being a perverted creep, bigotry, etc) its why I put in my rules that I’m neutral when it comes to callout culture discourse. However I find that most times shit gets way, wayy blown out of proportion due to most of tumblr’s user base having poor communication skills & everyone expecting everyone else to be able to read their minds & the witch hunt & perpetual high-school like shunning & shaming of individuals who happen to be on the wrong ‘side’ of the feud is completely uncalled for & just ridiculous! And the fact that this shit could even follow you & your rep around in the comm for years? All over what might have just been a simple misunderstand & mistake that took place ONLY between two individuals yet somehow now anyone who’s anyone now has your name on their blacklist? Yeajhhhh that’s when I think callout culture & the tightness of cliques goes way wayy too far & I’m honestly just t i r e d!

Do you listen to Kpop or just a few select groups/people? Do you have any specific (good/bad) thoughts about it?

I listen more to individual songs that I find catchy… Not loyal to any one kpop artist or group… Except maybe Shinee, who I really loved back when I was 14 and still have a weakness for now.

I don’t think I have any strong thoughts about kpop…? It’s an industry that relies on glamorous marketing (mainly through the free digital music market, aka Youtube) and “cultural exchanges” to maximize their target audience.

I guess if i had to talk about something, it’d be about how ppl often neglect to consider the globalization of music production. There’s a reason why many of the people involved in the kpop industry behind the scenes are not Korean, but are big names in Hollywood or Europe. Next time you listen to a kpop song, try to find the producer, composer, and choreographer. Chances are that at least one of them isn’t Korean.
