what is this version of Camila like and how would her story in escaping expulsion, reaching out, and clouds on the horizon play out

OKAG SO. CAMILA AND HER VIBES.

I cannot stress enough that even though she’s technically in the role of both Odalia and Alador she’s literally just canon toh Camila but a witch. She’s a great mom but she struggled growing up in the coven ruled system and doesn’t want her smart and talented and silly daughter to struggle too, especially after She lost her husband and Luz’s dad. So she makes some decisions that aren’t the best but are well meaning and made out of fear rather than as a punishment or a means of control, MUCH like sending Luz to camp in the show. (More below the cut)

In escaping expulsion I’m thinking that she has a meeting with the principal and the gang (I’m considering switching Bump with the three eyed :3 mouth monster lady but she doesn’t have a name) and is like “Luz, I love your creativity, but all the trouble that you keep getting into isn’t okay.” and she’s worried about these kids she’s hanging out with!! However they just get suspended instead of expelled. But I’m thinking that amity’s headstrong dramatic ass would go to the Noceda house and be like “MRS NOCEDA. ILL STRIKE A DEAL WITH YOU AND PROVE THAT WE ARE IN FACT GOOD FOR LUZ AND ILL HELP WITH YOUR BEASTKEEPING JOB TO DO IT!!! Luz is a sweet girl and this isn’t fair!!!” And Camila is already like “oh this girl is so nice to do this maybe I misjudged her and her friends, I should-” in her head but Amity goes and does stuff anyway before she can respond and shenanigans ensue LOL but it ends really well

I’m not sure about reaching out quite yet but I know that COTH would be like. Nixing everything about Odalia’s bullshit and be Camila being a badass mom against the throne (the mats)

I wanted to revive my TOH!IF au so I did a redraw of one of Dana’s promo pieces to get back into the groove of it… if you don’t remember, the gist is that it’s a swap au where the characters keep their original personalities and motivations but they switch roles around? Yeah 🫶

Amity is a human girl with a controlling mother who runs away to the isles, Lilith is more of a frazzled historian and researcher rather than a con artist, and the Collector is a baby titan named Orion with a panache for being childish…

I saw a cute pair of rollerskates on Pinterest and they made me think of Azura so now I’m making it a thing that she’s got a pair and likes to zoom around the isles… she’s got places to Be

Also, Bronwyn!! She really struggles with anxiety and panic attacks, which isn’t too great already but especially if you inherit a curse that gets stronger based on stress…

Can you talk more about Inverted Fate AU Luz and her relationships with Gus and with Amity? Even though she doesn't have canon Amity's early maliciousness, is she still functionally an antagonist? Love the AU, it's so thoughtful and creative!

Inverted Fate!Toh has a central theme of choosing kindness even when it’s hard to do it, rather than the original show having a theme of knowing when someone is beyond being offered kindness. This is also shown with swap Amity and her journey in the isles in the beginning.

Being raised in the same environment as she did in canon rendered her bitter and still chasing “success” above all else as a witches apprentice, so her early relationship with Luz is very similar to what we know. Luz just wants to help and Amity’s world gets turned upside down by her eccentricities, which she’s… upset about.

(Don’t worry she melts her icy defenses really soon afterward :3 lil miss sour lemon drop absolutely has a sweet center)

I imagine swap mittens and azura look basically the same, but do they end up having any slight differences as a result of their parents role swapping?

I’ve had a few design ideas rolling around? These are very subject to change as I’ve just drawn them but . Yeas. I think having alternate counterparts is cool

Funnily enough the last thing I sketched w my pen and finished b4 it bit the dust was meant to be a lazy mockup of Inverted Fate! Lilith’s S2 outfit so I was like “hey I can throw some colors on there without worrying about making it neat with just my finger!” So!

I love your IF AU Hierophant and Azrael so much...the exploration of the difference in their dynamic compared to canon is so important...also currently you're the only person i trust to write a good swap au, like I once saw someone talking about their swap AU where "Belos' grimwalkers keep turning evil and that's why Philip kills them" like WOW way to miss the entire point of Owl House i'm gonna explode you with my mind

THANK YOUUUUUU SO MUCH I feel like there’s still a lot of opportunities to make their relationship unhealthy and drive the plot without completely changing their characters like how a lot of swap aus tend to do, you just gotta figure it out….

Instead of it being an actively violent and manipulative abuser and a captive victim, I’ve been considering this twist-

Heirophant isn’t mentally well and doesn’t always say the right things to no fault of his own, but Azrael, who doesn’t know any better, who loves him, wants his approval, wasn’t raised in the most stable environment and will do whatever it takes to make their codependent wishes come true…. He’s gonna be making a lot of mistakes that come from the right place that are gonna make it really hard for people to forgive him.
