Unpopular opinion but I don't think problematic people should be harassed either. Harassment isn't justice, it's like saying that a trans person should be misgendered if they're a shit person, or something like that. Hurting people is actually not okay, just block and report, there's no need to go full on vigilante- and in the case of actual abusers, directing more people to interact with them puts others in danger too. Just report, block, work to remove them from the internet if you must. without feeding the flames. Especially if you're a minor. Genuinely, you could get really hurt and it's fucked that adults encourage this stuff.

And often, harassing people just gives them an excuse to feel like a victim and double down... I hate that harassment as a culture has become what it is. Seriously, the fact that it's normalized is really fucked up.

And I'm of the opinion that nobody deserves to die, even if they're really gross they could get help! Dying removes all opportunities for reparations! Like what is with kids these days and thinking that just because someone is bad it's your job to convince them to self delete?

Sorry for the rant. It's just kind of a lot to see and it makes it hard to believe humanity is inherently good when ppl call for the death of someone for shipping reylo or two adopted brothers in a fantasy game. No one should be driven to end their lives because of that. Because no one should be driven to end their lives. Period.

The whole CBC (canon-based character) drama regarding ToyHouse is a bit misunderstood, I think.

Like yeah. Obviously you shouldn't upload a carbon copy of a canon character with no major changes to it at all to ToyHouse. But that's not really the issue I'm seeing people complain about.

What I've been noticing is ANY CBC has been getting reported and taken down. Regardless of how far removed from canon they are. Creators that have pretty much completely original OCs that were simply inspired by canon characters have been getting their OCs reported JUST because they admit the character was inspired by a canon character.

If you're going to have a CBC, you obviously need to make them unique enough to be distinguishable from their inspiration. And sometimes you're gonna have OCs that accidentally resemble canon characters because that's just how it goes sometimes. But I don't think EVERY CBC should be getting the ban hammer by nature of being a CBC alone.

It's very much a case by case basis and I think determining whether or not a CBC OC breaks the rules requires much more than just a simple glance in some cases. This is a big reason why I think ToyHouse needs more mods. Especially if there's some person or group crusading around and reporting every single CBC they come across (not saying that's the case, but it sure seems like it sometimes).
