today i made my very first homemade furby faceplate! i made it from this kids oven-bake modelling clay my little sister had (hence how random the colours were before i painted it) and then just painted it with regular acrylics and glitter.

ive been working on this boy since about 9:45 and it’s now 4, so he was very much a labour of love although it was nice to sit outside and craft because the weather has been really nice in my area recently.

point is he’s gorgeous, he looks like this 👁👄👁 and i love him. he was going to be an oddbody felt spider with long ass pipe cleaner legs and a little top hat but I completely winged it with the measurements and ended up not having enough fabric :(

I finally finished this fucking furby after several months! This project has taken me so long to complete, and the reason for that is a combination of lack of motivation, biting off more than i can chew and being away from home for some time.

But, two days ago on the 1st of August, it was finally finished.

Sunday Stacked Waffles!

Fun fact (ish): the wings are a seperate piece that aren't connected to the body. I couldn't figure out how to connect them to the furby itself so i glued them onto a piece of cardboard and some ribbon instead. Tbh i kinda think the wings being removable is a good thing though, because they're very huggable without them!

Waffles uses any pronouns and she can also be called 'Sunday'

Hi all!

Thought I’d share my original long furby from 3 years ago, as well as my new creations in the works!

I’m making my little cousins their own long furbies for xmas and allowing them each to paint their own (vegan) faceplate as a fun craft for us to do together over the holidays. I’ll also be making a new furby for myself.

I’ve created some concept art for the oddbody furbies and will be making 5 in total. For the traditional longbodies I used a base sketch by Turtle Bread on reddit to articulate my designs, and did a rough sketch of my own for the spider furbs.

I feel like I learned a lot from my first go at an oddbody furby, and am excited to share the creation process with you all!

my son has reached his final form!

I’ve repainted the light blue bits TWICE and they STILL don’t match the colour of the third eye, so I’ve decided to just leave it because I like how he looks regardless.

so this guy is obviously evil eye themed, his third eye is a little evil eye that fell off something my mum bought in greece and I’ve had it lying around for years

he is going to be an oddbody inspired by the hamsa hand, which is a symbol of protection, power and strength in multiple cultures and, soon, a vaguely hand shaped creature with a clay bird face. I guess all things really do tend towards chaos.

anyway point is a hamsa hand looks a little something like this:

so yeah, the gist is I’m going to make a big hamsa hand out of white fur and the face is going to be in place of the eye. simple, weird and hopefully pretty cool!

this is my very first oddbody furby btw and his faceplate is handmade from clay, so no furbies were harmed or even touched in the making of this guy :)

also if anyone has any ideas for names, PLEASE share because I am truly stumped on this one!
