VICE VERSA (RE)WATCH 2024

with last twilight ending and no show to replace it on friday yet, i thought this might be a good time to do a vice versa community rewatch and maybe give an excuse to all the new jimmysea fans to watch the show for the first time if they didn't get around to it.

the schedule: from february 2 to may 9

as this is quite sudden and im hoping to reach as many people as possible, i thought we could do one episode per week, without having only a single set date but rather a range of days where each one of us can decide when to watch it. so the schedule would look like this:

Vice Versa rewatch ep. 2

All right here we go!

*squints trying to focus on all the Forest Green* what does it mean??? 😩

The way they said Tun just “keeps cool” these days! But what they don’t know is that he’s actually Puen who got body-swapped into another universe and of course he’s freaking out on the inside but as a celebrity he has to present well on the outside so he “keeps cool” while not knowing what the heck happened!! He must’ve been so scared that whole time 😖

And the club is pink cause that’s where Talay first fell for Puen! 🥰 He knew he wasn’t Tun from the first glance! And Talay is literally the first good thing and first light of hope in Puen’s scary new world!

I remember so many people had an issue with Puen not telling Talay his real name but honestly it makes sense to me! When I was first watching this show I’d tell my sister little summaries of each episode so I could talk them out with her after watching and I don’t remember why but I started calling Puen Brad Pitt 😅 I think I used it as an example to be like “he’s super famous in their world like Brad Pitt is in ours”. And it makes sense that he wouldn’t want to be seen with whatever opinion people have already made about him. He just wanted to be a regular person and even after Talay got to know him and fall for him that fear of knowing him as “that celebrity that I have X opinion about” was still valid! The fear of losing the love he worked hard to get was strong 😢

Shirtless Jimmy and Sea are both so gorgeous!! Look at those muscles!! 😍 and their gorgeous faces!! What I’d give to be in a 3-way hug with them!!! 🙈 Aaahhh!!! 😆

We got the iconic “to be my wife you must endure” and “ai’Dang” quotes in this ep!

Was that password a “My Gear and Your Gown” quote now? 😁 I get it!

I’m thinking of Dol and how he must’ve felt waking up as a woman. He had to learn how to navigate the new world and how to navigate a new body. Do we think the woman he inhabited looked like that when he first switched over? Or did he cut her hair and change her wardrobe to feel more like himself? I mean there’s no telling how long you’ll be in the other world right? I don’t think it’s wrong to give the other person a temporary physical change. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be a man and I’ve always thought that shape shifting into different people like Mystique from X-Men would be a cool power to have.

We got a MilkLove cameo! 😊 I hope their characters had their own beautiful love story and found their way home too!

It’s crazy how this is only episode 2 but we can already see all the ways Puen and Talay go together! Puen’s joy in finally finding someone who can explain what’s going on and Talay being so surprised that they have similar tastes and them finding each other at the end of the maze!! They’re already looking at each other with at least stars in their eyes if not yet hearts! And Puen being so flirty when he said he’d be the one “hurting” Talay! 🤭🫣 Like yeah maybe the quiz matched them with the most similar person(?) but they’re already vibing so hard it’s obvious they’re meant to be together!

I’m so bad with metaphors and stuff so I can see the colors in the episodes but I struggle to see the deeper meanings of things. I’m trying harder this time around and I can see how the shades of green match the energy of the scenes now. I’ll keep trying to notice them!

EDIT: I just realised I watched till ep 2 without realising and put some ep 2 content on here as well, so I'll be making a seperate post with some more content from both the wos in a bit!!

MONN guess who’s watched ep 1&2 for our #vvrewatch2024!! i was legit kicking my feet, giggling like a 15 year old, going absolutely BALLISTIC at peun and talay and their universe travelling friendship 😭😭😭

here is a brief rundown of my thoughts on these episodes. there are definitely SEVERAL more things that I thought/felt while watching but your girl isn’t so inept with an online community watch party hehe. don’t you worry, though!! that shall definitely get better in the coming few weeks!! now for the rundown

1. how young were our boys?? like ik they’re both old enough (older than me at least!!) but do you see they were such babies??? ohh man i missed my clumsy talay and my cutely annoying peun 😭😭😭 i mean just look at them mon

2. i cannot help but notice and appreciate how much care and attention this show was made with. like look at the colours in this picture

i wish i’d taken a video of this scene because what mastery. the colours, the angles, the background score, the sets, the sheer artistry of this production never ceases to amaze me and you shall be hearing a lottt more about it from me in the coming weeks, my love.

3. borrowing from my previous point, this show is soo magical, mon. like this point is just an appreciation for moments like the one below. i remember watching this one with goosebumps because the lighting, jimmy’s singing, js’s acting, the camera angles everything just makes you feel like you’re in a dream. maybe that’s how it was for peun & talay over here because i’m universe travelling ???? and i found someone from my own universe ??? like what??? too good man, i really cannot fall in love with this show enough

4. i do not have a picture for this, but throughout these eps, in the scenes where you see the switch between sea and ohm, there are so many instances where you can see the confusion/hope/conviction in sea’s face (it also translates into ohm’s btw) as he tries to get this pakorn to talk to him and get back to his universe/life. i’ll take a picture to show you in my next post maybe (because a girls texting you from work lmaoo) but this was just one of those parts where you could see the care and attention that went into making VV

5. bonus point. this scene was hilarious 🤣🤣 sea swearing will always be soo cute to me, like look at this cutie patootie swearing heheheh

6. second bonus point. again no pic, but what a gift ep1 must’ve been for the bad buddy fans?? since vv was my first bl, i was admittedly CLUELESS during my first watch of the show. with this rewatch though, since i’ve already watched bbts, i can really see how much people would’ve lost their minds during ep 1&2. the fact that we even got milklove??? chef’s kiss 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽

Ok I’m doing it!!!

I’m doing the Vice Versa rewatch!! I know we’re on week 2 and I’m behind but I had stuff going on and I didn’t have time 🙈

I don’t usually make my own posts about shows I watch so bear with me I’m kinda new at this 😅

Just a few minutes in and I realize I forgot so much of it! Of course I remember how much I loved it and how it made me feel but the details of the story have been lost by now.

When Talay described the man as brown like a horse shit I laughed out loud! Did I forget how funny the show was? 😅

This is the most iconic intro of a character ever 👏🏽😍😎 KING!! And we all know how I feel about him in the scene with the suspenders 😏

Look at these smitten kittens!! I love Sea’s freckles 🥰

As I keep watching I keep remembering so much from when I first saw it. Vice Versa was my second GMMTV BL and my 4th overall and I’ve seen so many since then but this one is really in my top 3 (I have 3 faves but they’re not ranked among themselves, they’re all equally my faves) which is really saying something! I loved this show so much and I really fell in love with Sea at first watch (Jimmy I liked but I didn’t love him til later. It took longer to warm up to him cause I didn’t like his character in Bad Buddy).

And it was my second GMMTV BL after Bad Buddy which was so good and literally changed my life cause it got me into BLs! And I was excited to see OhmNanon in it too! But I wasn’t really as disappointed that they weren’t in the show as much or that they didn’t end up together as other people were.

The way they switched from Sea to Ohm and back is pretty cool to see!

I remember that each episode was color coded and I remember not paying attention to the colors at all for some eps and trying my hardest to notice them for other eps. I’m so bad at noticing visuals like that 😅 but I would check tumblr after each episode and see how others noticed the colors! I see the ocean blue here in ep 1 🌊👀

Oh that’s right! There was a ForceBook cameo! I never watched Enchante 😅 and oh snap! The password to the secret universe-swapping club is a quote from 2gether! I understand that reference now! 😁

I have questions about this universe-swapping. Are there only 2 universes that do the swapping? Or are there a million universes that anyone could be from? If so they’re so lucky they’re from the same one and swapped to the same one, that’s fate right there. And what if you were swapped with someone of a different culture? Would one automatically know the language of the region they’re in? Or is it that you only switch with someone of your own culture? Is it like you switch with the “you” of that world? But Puen and Talay aren’t really like Tun and Tess 🤔 questions that will never be answered…

Sea’s voice is beautiful and Have I Found will always be a top tier OST in my book!! 👏🏽 one of my faves!!

What a wild ride that was revisiting ep 1 of this show! All the emotions just came flooding back to me! Maybe I don’t have anything deep to say to add to the discourse of this show but I’m so glad Monica came up with this rewatch cause I’m having a good time! Thank you @stormyoceans! I’m excited to keep going, maybe I’ll notice more stuff I didn’t realize the first time around 😁

Vice Versa rewatch ep 4

This one’s a big one!! Let’s go!!!

Ep 4 is Deep Magenta, meaning harmony, compassion, contentment, appreciation, and universal love

PUEN MY BROTHER IN CHRIST WE’RE BARELY 6 MINUTES INTO THE EPISODE AND YOU’RE ALREADY USING YOUR BRAD PITT RIZZ ON TALAY!!! MY BOY NEVER STOOD A CHANCE!!!

I like Talay teasing him after too 😁

We get our first look at the iconic greenhouse cafe, my beloved!

And some nice foreshadowing 👌

And this iconic romantic moment!!! This is what I love about this show, it’s just episode 4 but this is the moment Puen fell in love with Talay, like he knew so early on that he was the one and it just feels like fate cause what else could it be that brought them there together???

Puen tries to be serious with Talay but the poor boy gets flustered and laughs it off so then Puen feels like he has to joke about it too and then Talay doubts if he is serious and it’s a vicious cycle of misunderstanding 😭

Which is what leads us to this moment cause Puen took his teasing a little too far ☹️ but he apologizes for the misunderstanding later on. He’s never been in love so he was just trying to do like the characters in movies do but the gestures came off too fake.

I feel like there’s something to be said about this moment. I’m not good with words but maybe it’s something about how Talay’s afraid of love and so he’s moving away even as it’s headed straight for him. But Puen, who might also be scared or unsure judging from his face, is willing to catch it and face love head on so he gets there first, he catches it for Talay but then hands it to him later cause it’s meant for both them. 😊

There was a 2gether reference earlier but I don’t know where “You’re not a movie. You are real” is from 🤔

And really, what else can be said about this iconic scene? Puen already knows his feelings are real but this kiss is the final confirmation that seals the deal for him. Talay is it for him and he’s gonna spend the rest of their time hitting on him trying to get him to the same place he’s at. And I can’t wait to see it all unfurl again!! I remember when I first watched this I screamed and kicked my legs and rolled around lol I loved it so much!!

Tbh I saw the magenta but I didn’t see it as google told me the color means. I took it as the blush of first love deepening into true love as Puen comes to realize his feelings are real and strong. But that’s just me I guess 😅

VICE VERSA REWATCH 2024 EP 3

(First I just want to apologize to @stormyoceans for taking so long. I should be on ep 6 by now 😭 these rewatch posts take a while for me to make and I’m sorry 😞 but I swear I’m still in this!)

Ok so, episode 3 is called “Soft Blush” and I looked it up beforehand! It stands for the flush of first love! It’s also gentle, playful, and healing 🥰 and I noticed that the episode started green which was the previous episode’s color, and even in the gif above the color seems to shift from green to pink!

It’s so insane that Talay casually says he’s ok with Puen being his portkey when they were just talking about portkeys being like soulmates! I mean how could anyone possibly resist falling for that? Puen stood no chance! 😩 Just nonchalantly saying these romantic things, being there for Puen and helping him all the while acting like it’s no biggie when Puen’s never had someone like that!? Insane!

Talk about foreshadowing 😭 but this story is not open ended like Talay says, it’s a happy ending!! 🥰

They’re already starting to change each other!! Puen is wearing the blush pink in the first half of the episode cause as a big name actor he probably didn’t have to try hard to get a role. And he couldn’t really trust anyone cause what if they just wanted to use him, so he never really had to make an effort when interacting with people. All that plus going from a strict schedule in a life where he wasn’t happy to being free to do what he wants made him mess up and get carelessly drunk and ruin their big pitch meeting. But here he’s just a regular person so these executives and his friends aren’t gonna forgive his mistake so easily. So Talay helps him grow as a person to learn to apologize and be responsible and actually care about something and try cause this is technically someone else’s life and he should try to live it as best as he can for the other person, but also to give himself a fresh start and live with a purpose and form real relationships with people. Talay’s already changing him for the better and Puen is just absorbing all of that and thinking “wow this guy really cares about me.” 🥹

Their pseudo first date!!! Now Talay is in the blush pink for the second half of the episode cause Puen says he’s also inexperienced but he’s so ready to teach Talay about love and the parallels are paralleling as they follow the couple around!! 😁

AAAHHHH THIS PART!!! PUEN USING THE FULL FORCE OF HIS STARE TO RECITE THAT LINE TO TALAY!!! THEY TRULY INVENTED ROMANCE!!!

Whiny baby Puen makes his first appearance 😁 everyone knows that KFC Chicken™️ tastes better when you’re being hand-fed by your faen ☺️

THEY’RE SO INSANE FOR THIS!!! Who gets into a bathtub with a guy they just met?? And then gently wipes his face with Nivea MicellAir Oxygen Boost™️?? Someone who’s catching feelings for that guy, that’s who! 🫵🏽🤨

And why would that guy gently wipe your dusty heart with the same Nivea MicellAir Oxygen Boost™️ so that it can be used for love again?? In that same soft blush pink tub??? Because the feeling’s mutual!! 🫶🏽

Them promising to live their best lives and writing on each other’s helmets was so cute!!! 🥰 ugh I love this show!!!

I’m excited for the next one!! I’ll try to someday catch up to be on schedule for these 😅
