just finished the second season of black sails and i gotta say i understand why it makes queers go feral

#i’m frothing at the mouth #black sails #i watched the first season yesterday and didn’t really enjoy it much #the pacing is really weird the characterisation was shallow at best and the whole thing stank of game of thrones levels of forced edgyness #but man the second season slapped so hard full 180 turnaround #the flashbacks were expertly crafted all major characters have relatable motives and they pull through ruthlessly #their fatal flaws are right there and like a greek tradgedy it all happens exactly how it must #in revealing it’s nature as a character study of flint and of what broke him so utterly the pacing actually becomes so poignant and perfect #with each new bit of information we’re given we understand his urgency his ruthlessness his unwavering calm hatred #he’s turned himself into a proper fucking monster and it’s tragic because it could only have ever gone this way #there’s no way out and the show being a prequel we know he lives we know he can’t win #actually doomed by the narrative in the worst/best way #but by god i just want his to set the world aflame

-ahem- so ! Book 5 of tales from the pizzaplex, the first story is called GGY. We have the main character, Tony Becker and his two friends Greg and Ellis :’> they get assigned to do a group project and Tony decides to do all the work (not very nice that his friends didn’t help but like - okay) he loves investigating right? Turns out some of the pizzaplex arcade games have crazy high scores all under the name of GGY. Tony decides that this is what the school project is going to be about so while his besties are playing games he starts asking around and researching. skipping to nearly the end, he’s connected everything to the disappearance of school counselors who entered the pizzaplex the last time they were seen alive, decides that hey…. I better stop getting involved in this- sends the story to his friends so they can review it but surprise surprise they change it and he is SO mad about it because??? All that work and danger to ruin his perfect research??? He decides his friends are not the best and don’t deserve nicknames anymore but that’s ok because his buddy Gregory invites him over to the pizzaplex at the end of the story to meet new friends that’ll cheer him up :>

Mini avos idea: Leafstar (and her deputy i forgor his name) loses her last life to Darktail as they escape the gorge, leaving Hawkwing as acting leader. but without the whispering cave, he has to go to the lake to get his 9 lives and make his clan whole again. Probably with some cats from the other clans joining (though realistically it'd probably just be shadow and thunderclan cats. Pls thin their numbers a little).

Not only do we not get Leafstar being.... like that. But we also get Hawkstar trying to keep his cats together and could tie into his SE a bit more instead of just giving us Darktail shenanigans and whatever the fuck was going on with Pebbleshine

YEAH i totally agree that leafstar shouldve died from darktail. not only because shes been hanging on for too long but because itd raise the stakes so much and mark the end of the era that they really want the raid to be. hell, keep sharpclaws death too, have the clan at a total loss for leadership. could you imagine the stakes at that point? (edit: i may be stupid i just didn’t process the part where you say sharpclaw dies too JDJDJDJDJDJJDEJ)

if we remove the pebbleshine stuff and age up hawkwing a bit then i think hawkstar could work after like a struggle for leadership. maybe they all look to echosong at first, then waspwhisker takes over, then once theyre gone, the clan is an absolute mess, and its in that chaos that hawkwing has to grow up and prove himself. honestly id be so down

Had good intentions to ride today and got Ed halfway tacked up but poor mum twisted her ankle on a rock in the paddock! 😫

my classes were cancelled today but i found out only after i got to uni so i went out for a coffee with my best friend and we sat at a sidewalk table at this little cafe and some guy was trying to parallel park next to us and was about to scratch the hell out of his car on the edge of our table so i tapped on his trunk and honestly he did a good job of it in the end anyways we had a little chat it was very nice and he insisted on footing the bill on account of almost killing us it was so sweet we got him a chocolate as a thank you but he’d left by the time we got back but he’s apparently friends with the owner and a regular so we left it behind the bar i hope his kids like it. that is to say there is so much goodness within people. that is to say the existence doesn’t have to be a burden
