I recently placed a name on the full ache I’ve lived with for 20 years. I’ve called it homesickness and diaspora blues. Truth is, I’ve grieved for 20 years. That’s half my life. All the time, I created a shiny parallel life while badly nursing the shock of almost-but-not-quite-perhaps-definitely-no-not-yet losing another life. I'm guilty of this. The reason I started exploring healing was because I got tired of suffering. I always feel alone and for the most part unloved but deep down it's just a starvation for certain kinds of attention. Once you've become aware of the truth of things, you can begin to work on solutions that are rooted in treating the real ailment.
