Fast X (also known as Fast & Furious 10) is a 2023 American action film directed by Louis Leterrier from a screenplay written by Dan Mazeau and Justin Lin, both of whom also co-wrote the story with Zach Dean. It is the sequel to F9 (2021), the tenth main installment, and the eleventh installment overall in the Fast & Furious franchise. It stars Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto alongside an ensemble cast including Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, Rita Moreno, Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, and Charlize Theron. In the film, Toretto must protect his family from Dante Reyes (Momoa), who seeks revenge for his father's death and the loss of his family's fortune.
With a tenth film planned since 2014 and a two-part finale planned since October 2020, Lin was confirmed to return to direct with the main cast attached. The film's official title was revealed when principal photography began in April 2022. Lin left as director later that month citing creative differences, though he retained writing and producing credits. Leterrier was then hired as his replacement a week later and performed several uncredited rewrites to the screenplay. Longtime franchise composer Brian Tyler returned to score the film. With an estimated production budget of $340 million, Fast X would be the eighth-most expensive film ever made. Filming lasted until that August, taking place in London, Rome, Turin, other Italian cities, Lisbon, and Los Angeles.
Fast X premiered in Rome on May 12, 2023, and was released in the United States on May 19, by Universal Pictures. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for its action sequences and Momoa's performance but criticism towards the writing. The film grossed $714 million worldwide, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2023. A sequel is in development and scheduled to be released on April 4, 2025.

Tottenham Hotspur are actively on the hunt for defensive midfielder Morten Hjulmand, a rising star hailing from Sporting Lisbon. It was in August 2023 when Hjulmand put pen to paper on a lucrative five-year contract with Sporting CP. Exiled Afghan musicians speak of ‘cultural genocide’ Mar 15, 2023
"The 273 refugees fled Afghanistan for fear of reprisals from the ruling Taliban, who have banned non-religious music.
“Afghanistan is a silent nation,” the 61-year-old said.
“When a country’s music is banned, an entire nation is silenced,” added Sarmast, who lost some of his hearing in an attack by the Taliban in 2014 when they were rebel fighters.

Exiled Afghan musicians speak of ‘cultural genocide’

“We are here to save our music,” said Ramiz, a young Afghan musician who has been welcomed in Portugal, along with other students from the national music school he left as he fled the Taliban’s cultural crackdown.
“We hope that one day we can go back to our country,” the 19-year-old said, holding his rubab, a traditional stringed instrument made of wood and inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
Ramiz is one of 58 students from the National Music Institute of Afghanistan (ANIM), aged between 13 and 21, who have settled in the northern Portuguese cities of Braga and Guimaraes.

He landed in Lisbon, along with his classmates, several teachers and some of their families in December 2021, months after the Taliban took power.
The 273 refugees fled Afghanistan for fear of reprisals from the ruling Taliban, who have banned non-religious music.
“When Taliban reached the gates of Kabul, it was clear that we should get out,” said ANIM director Ahmad Sarmast, who did everything possible to evacuate the students and staff of the music institute.
“Afghanistan is a silent nation,” the 61-year-old said.
“When a country’s music is banned, an entire nation is silenced,” added Sarmast, who lost some of his hearing in an attack by the Taliban in 2014 when they were rebel fighters.
“It’s nothing short of a cultural and musical genocide,” said the Afghan music specialist, who has made it his mission to safeguard his nation’s musical heritage and to recreate in Portugal the music school he founded in Afghanistan in 2010.
While waiting to find a place where it can be reborn, his exiled students have been welcomed at the Braga Music Conservatory, where they continue to play music as an act of resistance.
“Each performance of our school is a protest against what is happening in Afghanistan,” Sarmast said.
One of those acts of musical protest came earlier this month in a concert with celebrated Japanese-born violinist Midori Goto.
The Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021, promising a softer version of their brutal 1996-to-2001 rule that was infamous for human rights abuses, but they have squeezed women out of almost all areas of public life, banning them from secondary and higher education, public-sector work, and from visiting parks and baths.

Premier League: Man Utd explain stance on transfer negotiations amid Bruno Fernandes demand
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Man Utd will not relinquish control of transfer negotiations amid uncertainty over a possible deal for Bruno Fernandes. Manchester United are puzzled that Sporting Lisbon abruptly enlarged their estimate of Fernandes to €80million £68.24m last week with no clarification.
Despite frenzied speculation that Fernandes had agreed personal terms, Manchester United and Sporting are nowhere near an agreement but could resume talks this week. Football fans from around the world can purchase Premier League Football Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
There is concern at Manchester United about the ramifications a possible €80m deal for Fernandes could have on their summer business. Manchester United are sensible the Portugal international might present a standard issue in that the evaluations of other targets such as James Maddison of Leicester City would expand.
Tumblr media
Fernandes signed a new contract with Sporting in November until 2023 and reputedly has a €100m release clause but Sporting is desperate to sell.
Manchester United have been burnt by forging alliances with super-agents Jorge Mendes and Mino Raiola since Ed Woodward assumed the executive vice-chairman post in 2013 and have operated more tentatively in the last two summer windows.
MEN report
Man Utd decided against a move for Fernandes in the summer and the MEN reported in August Mendes had touched base with Fernandes with the promise of a transfer this year.
“You know that discussion, Solskjaer said when asked if Manchester United should make a stand over-inflated fees. We could do that later maybe. Of course, we do not want to inflate the prices. I think that is important - that we use common sense.”
"There are other kinds of stuff, too, when you sign performers, that you have to remain in control. You cannot give agents control by giving buyout clauses and stuff. That has been touted around. For me, we have to be in control."
Fernandes joined Sporting in 2017 after spending four years in Italy with Udinese and Sampdoria and has attained 19 Portugal caps. He has scored 15 goals and assisted another 13 for Sporting this term.
Should Fernandes stay in Lisbon beyond deadline day on January 31, he could come up against Manchester United in the Europa League knockout stages.
It is fair to say Bruno Fernandes raised one or two eyebrows with his antics at the end of Sporting Lisbon’s defeat to Braga last night.
Portugal international was on the end of a 2-1 defeat in what might be his Sporting farewell as transfer rumors linking him to Manchester United continue to intensify.

Daily Mirror report about Man Utd
The Daily Mirror is among the sources to state that the Fernandes to Man Utd deal seems to have reached a breakthrough, but for the time being the 25-year-old did not look a happy man last night.
Watch the video above as Fernandes storms off at the end of the defeat to Braga, failing to acknowledge the club’s fans and shoving a TV camera.
Manchester United fans will just hope he can make his way to Old Trafford soon and put this disappointment behind him.
The 25-year-old looks a potential world-class talent who would undoubtedly strengthen what has been an area of weakness in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad in recent times.

I was happy, I knew that. While experiencing happiness, we have difficulty in being conscious of it. Only when the happiness is past and we look back on it do we suddenly realize - sometimes with astonishment - how happy we had been.

FANS‘ favourite Kieran Tierney will put Celtic to the test some time in the future.
The Hoops’ 21-year-old Scotland international left-back has already been linked with a host of big-money English sides, including Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal.
And former midfielder Stan Petrov, who quit the team in a £6.5million move to reunite with Martin O’Neill at Aston Villa in August 2006, believes his old club are bracing themselves for a massive bid for their defensive ace.
Tierney has a long-term contract that will run until the summer of 2023, but the ex-Bulgarian skipper doesn’t reckon that will put off admirers making a move at the end of the current campaign when the transfer window re-opens.
KT AND THE SUNSHINE BRAND…Kieran Tierney holds aloft the Scottish Cup after last season’s 2-0 win over Motherwell.
Petrov, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “You don’t go under the radar if you are consistently one of the top performers.
“I don’t know if it will be this summer or next, but I do think at some point Celtic’s resolve will be tested.
“And if a huge offer comes in, the reality is you have to take it. It will take big money to get him. I don’t know how much, but it will be no problem for a Man United or whatever.
“The boy just has to keep doing what he is doing. Getting into the Champions League can be so important for his development.
“He has the potential to go on and be world-class. He could go to a Man United or any other top-level club because he’s been brought up having to play under pressure.
“Like all good players, he has not just survived in that environment, but has flourished and those who have the temperament to deal with that are the guys who make it to the top.
“He has shown he can cope at European level. In the Champions League he has been excellent. But it is also about the way he behaves on the pitch. He has shown he is a leader.
“He has captained his country and he has captained Celtic. That is special for being only 21.
BHOYS’ OWN FAVOURITE…Kieran Tierney shows his true colours.
“He will get better all the time. As an ex-Celtic player and a Celtic fan, I want him to be here for as long as possible. But that is not how football works.”
Tierney will be in the spotlight again on Sunday when the holders face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.
He has already missed a chunk of the campaign through injury and wants to go out on a high.
The Premiership is heading back to Parkhead for the eighth successive season and the Hoops are two games from a Scottish Cup hat-trick, some the club have never achieved before in their history.
If Neil Lennon’s men can successfully negotiate a route beyond the Dons at the weekend they will meet either Hearts or Inverness Caley Thistle in the Hampden showpiece on May 25.
A victory on the 52nd anniversary of the team conquering Europe in Lisbon would bring an unprecedented treble treble.

What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.
