Alright so I know this is late and I don't wanna be creepy or anything, but I love the concept of omega Ashton you wrote (and your work in general) and I only just worked up the courage to send this ask. What I want to know is: what kind of omega do you think Ashton is? Does he try to be loud and outgoing in an attempt to mask his status, or do you think he is just content to be mellow and giggly and soft as usually expected???do you have any other ideas about life for Ashton??

aww babe 😭  thank you so much for sending this, holy shit!! Trust me, ur not creepy at all, it actually makes me really happy to know that you liked my abo verse (and my writing in general, I CRY). I loooooove abo so much but unfortunately not many ppl in the fandom like it or even know it exists, so im always thrilled to find others who enjoy it too. There’s no need to be afraid to talk to me, i’m always chillin and always willin to talk fic :))

As for omega ashton, the way I picture him, he’s definitely not fully comfortable with his status. As you said, he def tries to be loud and outgoing to kinda make it less obvious that he’s an omega and also to fight the stereotypes that come with the status. I think it’s a by-product of his life. In abo verses, I’ve always loved the headcanon that Ashton has had bad experiences with alphas and that he’s faced a lot of discrimination for being an omega, and so bc of that he’s not very trusting of alphas and also a little bit resentful towards them. It also explains why he feels somewhat ashamed of being an omega. 

And in canon abo verses, I always headcanon that his dad was an alpha and when he left their family, it gave ashton a bad image of alphas while also forcing him to step up and be the protector/provider for his family (aka, forcing him to kind of give up those omega aspects of his nature and be an ‘alpha’ instead).

I think the only time Ashton allows himself to truly be his giggly, soft self is when he’s with his friends or when he’s with his partner (we’ll say Luke, just for ease’s sake). Another headcanon I love about omega ashton is that the reason he falls for Luke is because luke is not the typical alpha. Luke is kind and shy and totally non confrontational and he doesn’t really care for posturing or “proving” his “alpha-ness” and Ashton is immediately GONE when they meet bc Luke is basically an alpha without all the parts of an alpha that scare him.

(Just a note: I love lashton, but if you know me, you know that mashton has me by the heart even more so, and that last headcanon works incredibly well with gentle, docile alpha michael as well 😭)
