Guys I would like to propose a conversation on why whumpblr has the most wholesome fandom coding and yet every whumpblr introduction post I ever see sounds like this:

oh hey, what’s up? I’m Jack, I’ve been lurking in the shadows of the community for way too long and I’m now revealing my presence!

About Me: why are you asking? who do you work for? WHO SENT YOU?! Just kidding. Here are some things I like doing- writing, thinking about whump, thinking about writing whump. Here are some things I like doing but am bad at- cooking things, climbing things without falling off of them, running without feeling like I’m going to die. Here are some things I don’t like doing- studying, going to the gym, watching romantic comedies, eating canned vegetables, getting my socks wet.

About Whump: love it. Love, love, love it. Whump is great. I like almost all flavors (but hold the nuts and butts and sexy bits.) My particular favorites- defiant whumpee, whump with magic/fantasy elements in it, whumpers who just suck, uh…whumpees in gladiator fights?? But…cage matches. Not bare-chested men in loincloths stabbing each other.

Heyo, fellow Whump enjoyers. I've been lurking for a while and figured it's high time I start interacting with this awesome community.

I'm known as Sleepy on most of the platforms I'm on, and @sleepyywastaken/@sleepyiswhumping here on Tumblr, but you can also call me Alex or Aspen if you so desire. I prefer They/Them pronouns and don't mind It/Its. I'm old enough to vote but too young to drink.

I write a lot but most of it is mediocre at best, so I probably won't share much.

Welcome to Species Whump Weekly, a new event dedicated to whumping various nonhuman species.

This event is brought to you by Bram and Hart over at @dismemberment-on-a-tuesday-night & @vivisection-and-vampyrism

Here's masterlist of our events so far.

This event will run Sunday through Saturday every other week. Every other Saturday, we'll post a new species of the week and seven days worth of prompts to go with them.

Each day has multiple prompts, and you can include as many as them as you like. You don't have to do every single day, just what inspires you. This is a very casual event. Play fast and loose with the rules.

Art, writing, and gifsets, are all highly encouraged, along with moodboards, poetry, and other unusual mediums. As long as it fits the prompt, please knock yourself out.

man. actually. vitally important question, because i tie myself in the most absurd knots worrying about How Much Context Is Enough Context:

how much are you able to enjoy whump if you know there's context you're missing?

I'm thinking of OC whump in particular bc thats what i write but this can apply to fandoms you are not in just as easily. like if you don't know who these characters are, how able are you to enjoy a whump scene featuring them?

A concrete example: there's a whump scene i really want to get to in one of my stories, but it features a character i haven't introduced yet. would you personally, Person Answering This Poll, read a story update where you know some but not all of the characters involved?

Hello! It's 32W. I’ve been a long time lurker who finally wants to be part of this community! I’ve been into whump pretty much forever (since my formative years in the single digits), but Iv’e been reading, writing, and drawing whump on and off for the last 15 years. I can’t imagine getting to the point of feeling confident enough to post my own work, but who knows? My partner is probably getting tired of hearing how I want to torment my OC’s, so that is another motivation to start this side blog! For now though it’s probably gonna be very reblog-heavy.

Whump introduction!

I figured I was due for a blog introduction!

Welcome, call me J or Jay! I had this blog for quite some time, but it was dormant for most of its lifespan. Well, time for a change! I want to be more active in the community and I would love to show you some of the things I’m working on. :) 

I both write and draw, but you’re going to see me post my drawings more often than my drabbles because I don’t feel too confident in my writing yet. (but it’s getting better!)

As for the actual content, I have two main whump stories that I will be posting about, one of which I'm hoping to turn into a webcomic/book in the future. (hopeful thinking…) I also have several related AUs because I cannot be helped. 

If I were to describe my whump taste, I would say it’s for the impulsive, visceral and emotional. My focus is usually on realism, mutually abusive and obsessive relationships, love mixed with hatred, emotional torture, and so on! I love to write stories about toxic, doomed, all consuming love, where both parties make each other worse but cannot resist the pull of each other. 

Some of my favorite tropes include:

Hey y’all, I figured maybe now it’s time for an intro post?

So I’m 17, she/her, y’all can call me anything as long as it’s not late for dinner (lol)

I’m super into whump but I’m also pretty new, I love writing but I suck at coming up with ideas so please give them to meee!!

My main goal on here is to have a whole story with a masterlist and all that jazz, I just don’t know exactly what to do yet, so maybe you guys can help me with that!!
