I hate how Marrow's character literally revolved around him being a dog faunus.
Name- referring to the brown part of the bone
Weapon- a common dog command (fetch)
Semblance- a common dog command (snap fingers and shout "stay")
From the Aesop fable about a dog who saw his reflection in a lake and the dog's reflection had a bigger bone.
Called "Wags" due to his dog tail.
The whole collar thing is even worse bc he is not only a MOC but an in-universe minority. So having the white ass officer (who happens to be none other than WINTER FUCKING SCHNEE) pin him to the ground WITH HER KNEE ON HIS BACK while saying
"You want a collar? Fine."
There is no way to make this scene okay. I saw the screenshots / gifs before the episode and I went "no. oh god no, I don't think I even want the context. holy fuck they really did that."
In the episode, it was even worse. I'm still so mad and disgusted by that.
So much missed opportunity... Sigh.

Two times Weiss Schnee regretted finding the bees, and one time she did not
"We should wait until morning to cross the bridge." Jaune had a tone of finality when he spoke now. Weiss wasn't sure if that was because of his age or his suffering from loneliness and betrayal. Maybe both. "There are wolf-boar scouts at night in the Dark Acre."
That sounded as confusing as any other threat in this place, and Weiss had learned to respect them. At least a little bit more. She stretched her neck and winced at the knot there, massaging it with a gloved hand. The small clearing they called a camp was damp from rain and quiet with just the three of them. "Hey, are you cold?" Weiss asked Ruby, who blinked and shrugged, but her skin was cool to the touch. "Where's Yang with more firewood?" Weiss didn't ask anyone specifically, but Jaune shook his head anyway. One look around, and Blake seemed to also be suspiciously absent. Groaning, Weiss set out to the task of being the only responsible and mentally stable huntress in their party.
She knew what she would find before she heard the muffled laughter, and Weiss missed home a little bit more, even if the thought of home made her feel sick. But right now she really missed doors with locks.
"I don't mind it." Weiss heard Blake's voice, low and raspy, and she never wanted to hear it again. "It's part of you."
"But don't you think it's too cold? Or too hot? The heat transfer is insane with the metal," Yang responded, giving more information than Weiss was willing to process.
"I'm approaching this area!" Weiss yelled from about ten feet away from the giggling couple. "I repeat, I, Weiss Schnee, perfectly capable of hearing and sight, am approaching this area!" she repeated, to which the giggling increased. The nerve of these dorks.
Weiss crossed a tree line to find Blake's boots just hitting the ground, her jacket rumpled, and Yang's arms still shamelessly around her.
"Heya, Weiss," Yang greeted with a grin while Blake had the decency to blush.
"Unbelievable," Weiss murmured, arms akimbo. "You left a while ago looking for firewood," she accused Yang, who shrugged and pointed to the forgotten heap at her feet. "Ruby's cold," Weiss added with a drop of teasing, satisfied with Yang's furrowed brows. "I know this is exciting and new for you," she continued, "but not everyone is in the mindset to enjoy your honeymoon phase. So please keep your hands to yourselves."
"We were about to head back," Blake offered with a small smile. "Care to give me a hand?" There was a glint in her eyes as she asked Yang, but it took Weiss a second too long to catch up.
"No problem!" Yang responded, detaching her prosthetic while Blake piled it along the firewood.
"I can't," Weiss said before walking back into the tree line without a second glance in the direction of her adorable but insufferable teammates. "And you have a hickey, Belladonna!" she added triumphantly, marching back to camp.
0000
The rain never stopped. It fell mercilessly, and they haven't seen the sun in the Dark Acre for days. Ruby had barely been speaking, and the tension between their group was palpable, like a constant heartburn in the back of Weiss's throat. They had been taking turns watching Ruby, and tonight it was Weiss's time to try and convince their broken leader to eat.
"It's not that bad," Weiss said as she chewed on stale carrot-cheese, offering a piece to Little and another to Ruby. "It's aged cheese, if you think about it."
"Yeah," Ruby answered apathetically, turning her back to Weiss. Impromptu naps were another thing Ruby had started doing, which Little celebrated at first but then understood that it was a problem.
"Rest." Weiss tried to adjust Ruby's hood around her, but the girl shrugged her off. "I'll check on Blake and Yang for more food."
"I'm not hungry."
"I know." Weiss took a deep breath and stood on the moist ground. Her fighting skirt had seen better days, but she was Weiss Schnee, and she patted her thighs with grace and elegance as she set into the task of finding more food. Rain kept its ruthless pace, though as she walked farther from camp, it seemed to slow to an annoying trickle. Her hair was not doing well either way.
She found a tree with fruits Jaune would have to clear for them before eating, and as she spotted another fruitful tree, she heard a sound that made her stop in her tracks.
Not a grimm; not a Jabberwalker. Right now, not even Salem's laughter would make Weiss this instantly mad. Weiss groaned out loud at the sound of moaning.
"What have I done to deserve this?" Weiss expressed to the picked fruit in her hands. She located the source of the sounds, a small cave to the side of a clearing. Part of her wanted to ignore it and bleach her brain, but Ruby was alone and they needed food. Someone needed to knock some sense into those two. She expected such abhorrent behavior from Yang, but pulling Blake into it was too much. She left the fruit outside the cave and took a deep breath.
"Too much, too much." Weiss heard Yang's voice echoing in the cave, followed by a hiss. "Slower, Blake."
Weiss froze on her way inside because there was absolutely no way they were up to that.
"I'm sorry," Blake replied, her voice low and calm. A sound of kissing followed, and Weiss gagged. "I'm going to try again. Try to relax."
Weiss wanted to die.
"But you also need to push a little harder on the way out, or it won't work."
Scratch that. Weiss was dead.
She jumped inside the cave, her rapier in the air as her other hand covered her eyes. "I can’t believe you two are even in the mood for such lewd behavior!" she yelled, brandishing her weapon at nothing. "I’m giving you ten seconds to look presentable before I open my eyes!"
"Weiss, open your eyes," Yang deadpanned.
"Are you both dressed?" Weiss pressed further.
"Yes," Yang confirmed in a similar monotone.
Weiss opened one eye first, scanning the cave quickly. Both Yang and Blake were indeed wearing pants, and while Yang had her jacket off, intimate body parts were 100% hidden. Yang’s arm was detached, and Blake’s hands were around the base connected to Yang’s scar.
"It’s been bothering me since I got it back," Yang explained. "I usually need help when detaching the base."
Heat flared in Weiss’ cheeks. "Well, I see you already have assistance." Weiss nodded at Blake, her cat ears betraying the laughter her mouth managed to dampen. "I will be heading back to camp, then."
"What did you think we were doing?" One golden eyebrow was up, followed by a half-smirk. "Weiss Schnee, did you really think Blake and I were having s—"
"You have no limits, Xiao Long."
"How dare you"—Yang placed her left hand over her heart—"I would never."
"Is everything okay back in the camp, Weiss?" Blake asked before the teasing escalated.
"We’re looking for food."
"We won’t take long," Blake amended with a small smile. Weiss frowned at Yang, who grinned innocently as she left.
"C’mon, let me tell her," Yang said once Weiss was out of earshot.
"Don’t you dare."
"It’ll be good for her!"
"Yang, no."
"It was just some hand stuff," Yang said while shaking her prosthetic.
Blake couldn’t hold her giggles, leaning to kiss Yang’s cheek. "I love you… but let’s tone it down around Weiss. She might explode."
"We should set her up with Jaune."
"Yang, no."
0000
Through the sandstorm, Weiss heard the familiar shriek of a Nevermore. Wyvern and Lancers also took the sky, attacking at random intervals.
"Ruby. Ruby, open your eyes!" she begged her unconscious teammate. After using her eye power, Ruby had fallen limply, and it took most of what was left of Weiss' aura to clear the path to her friend. "Ruby!" she yelled, sand entering her eyes and mouth. "Ruby, talk to me!"
"We gotta bounce!" Nora yelled from behind Weiss. "I’ll help you carry her!"
"Wait, where are Yang and Blake?" Weiss asked with Ruby’s arm around her neck.
"They were the ones distracting the big flying chicken."
"The Nevermore?"
Nora shrugged, shooting a flying grenade in the direction of an approaching flock of Wyverns before helping Ruby up from the other side.
"Can you take her by yourself?"
"Weiss, we need to leave!" Nora’s statement was punctuated by Winter’s chilly attack somewhere above them.
"I’ll meet you back at Shade!" Weiss didn’t look back and ran in the direction of the fight.
"Weiss!" She recognized Winter’s voice. "You need to leave this instant!" Her sister had become overprotective since they returned, but there was a layer of fresh desperation in Winter’s voice as she landed next to Weiss.
"Have you seen Blake and Yang?" Weiss held her sister’s shoulders.
Winter’s eyes widened. "Winter?" Weiss insisted, but they had to break apart as a Lancer tried to sting her from behind. As the grimm froze to death, Weiss latched to her sister’s forearm. "What happened, Winter?"
"I saw the moment Yang’s aura broke. Blake was with her, but I haven’t seen them since. Weiss, come back here!"
Nothing could stop Wiess from finding her friends—her family. Hunters ran in the opposite direction, as it was clear they had been called to retreat. They trickled in behind Winter’s line of defense, but none of the hunters were Yang or Blake. She wasn’t going to give up; Weiss would fight wave after wave of grimm to find them.
Winter had taken Weiss by the waist when she heard the familiar sound of a high-caliber weapon.
Ember Celica.
"They’re here!" Weiss yelled before her sister carried her away. "Yang! Blake!"
"Help!" Blake’s voice, followed by more shots. Winter was gone in a flash, flying through the harsh storm in the direction of Blake’s cries. Weiss watched as Blake ran in her direction, with Winter carrying an unconscious Yang above them.
"We need to go!" Winter ordered, grimm’s growling intensifying with the lack of hunters. "Now!"
Weiss took Blake’s forearm, as her hand was occupied holding the left pair of Ember Celica. "You two need to stop running away!"
Blake chuckled a wet laugh, her eyes red-rimmed. "We love you too!"
"I’ll strangle you both once Yang wakes up!"
"Don’t give her ideas!"
"BELLADONNA!"

Dazed Schnee
This just in, I love thinking about the idea of Winter having these long days at work behind her desk at the SDC. She's committed to her work for hours on end, but sometimes during the latter parts of the day she just finds her mind wandering. Sure, stat pages and spreadsheet documents are soooo entertaining, but sometimes it's Winter and her notebook with a pen or pencil; and drawing the thing she misses at those points.
Oh this got long, hey if you came for the rambling welcome to Scham's house
Eventually there are doodles in the corner of her own personal workbook, the one she knows no one will ever see. It's a shoddy little bunch of things, a little character with a smudge of black pen ink hair, a little scribble of an eye patch; and of course her little scowl she promises is not on purpose it's just a resting bitch face. Though Weiss would tell the pair of them they share that in common.
Then it's suddenly something more akin to a vent instead of a thing to pass the time; and little doodles suddenly take up hole pages. To which Winter sits there with her chin in her hand at the end of her long days just scribbling an hour or however long away.
Slowly getting better at this, I like the idea of Winter getting more confident with it all and doing more and larger things. Like, I don't know, a full portrait of her fool of a huntress bride back at home who she will see in no time at all but would very much like to speed up the clock. Queue tens of portraits of gradually improving quality of little ol' Cinder to which if Winter ever found out someone saw she would throw herself out of the office window; much like the nitwit she is.
Naturally. The portraits have changed from her workbook to an actual sketchbook which she bought alongside some actual good(-ish) pens and other things. All of which now have their own home and hideaway in the newly installed locked drawer in Winter's work desk; less her one-eyed muse all of a sudden starts sleuthing around while she's around one day and Winter has to overcome becoming a tomato real quick and explain herself.

Sworn Duty to Protect
It was cold that morning. The day they laid Nicholas Schnee to rest, her beloved and so adored grandfather, Weiss' heaving breaths came out in clouds of sorrow from her mouth. Her mother was so disraught by her father's death, she shut herself away into her room. Weiss didn't know it, but that would be the last she saw her mother sober for the next twelve years.
Klein held her hand, rubbing a thumb as he stoicly watched the casket lower. He also held Winter's hand as she failed to match his stone face. Whitley fussed in her arms, unaware of the tragedy in their family. Weiss wouldn't forgive him for... so long.
A supposed "close friend" of Nicholas spoke at the eulogy, giving empty words of death and dust and neither truly ending. Even at her young age, Weiss knew a corporate shill when she saw one. Her father arranged the ceremony, and it only made sense for a rat to come to assist a leech.
"Remember, Weiss," her father whispered, his voice a relief from the mockery, "that this death is faulted on one man. Do you understand?"
Wordlessly, she nodded. It was the man who abandoned her grandfather. The serpent in hiding amongst the permafrost of her home, trickering her grandfather, her family, into believing his lies of honor, respect, and duty. Her father was many things, a liar sitting high among the list, but he was no murderer.
Nothing like an Arc.
---------------------------------------------------
"You know what else is great? Me." Jaune jumped in. "Jaune Arc, nice to meet you."
"Hello, Jaune," the red-haired girl waved, "it's nice to meet you!"
"Thanks." Jaune waved quickly before getting closer to Weiss. "So, I couldn't help but overhear you say-"
"Did you say your name was Arc?" The white-haired woman interrupted, staring at the ground.
"Uh, y-yeah," Jaune answered, suddenly feeling a cold chill, "I didn't think it would be famous."
"Arc." She breathed out slowly, like the word held a deeper meaning beyond a name. She looked up from the floor, and Jaune nearly froze on the spot in terror. Never before had he felt such hatred, such boundless rage and disgust in anyone's eyes before. After drawing a long breath, she spoke once more. "From now on, your life will be a living hell."
"What?" With a flick of her wrist, Jaune was frozen up to his neck in a block of ice. Weiss then twirled in a sort of ballerina form and kicked Jaune to the opposite end of the locker.
"Come along, Pyrrha." Weiss walked away.
"Uh, it was nice to meet you!" Pyrrha shouted and waved before cautiously following Weiss.
"Was it something I said?"
---------------------------------------------------
"It wasn't just your words, but your actions." Weiss huffed.
The older man bellowed. "You sound just like your mother!" He touseled her hair again, which she spent all morning making look perfect. "But there are worse people you could be like."
"Oh, hush." Her mother said, holding her baby brother in her arms. "Weiss doesn't have to be anything like me."
"Nah." A voice came from behind before lifting Weiss high into the air. With a toss, Weiss was spun round and caught in the same hands, finding her grandfather's old and grizzled face smiling at her. "She just has to be the best Weiss she can be."
"Hallo, Opa!" Weiss greeted with a giggle.
"Hallo, liebchen!" After rubbing his nose against hers, he set her on his massive shoulder. "Where's Winter? It isn't like her to miss on a family gathering."
All eyes fell to the hallway, where a pair of blue eyes and a crown of black hair peeked around a corridor. When her grandfather followed their gaze, there was a squeak and she fell away. He belted a laugh.
"Scaring children again, Arc?"
"It's not my fault." The other man argued. "I've always been bad with girls." He looked to her mother for support. "Right, Willy?"
"Considering I had to throw you off a cliff for you to notice your wife, I would say yes."
"Come on, Willy..." the man groaned, earning another laugh from her grandfather.
"Mr. Arc?" Klein called from the hallway.
"Klein, come on!" The man opened his arms. "We've known each other for years! Call me Big Nicholas!"
"Hey!" Her grandfather barked teasingly. "You're already stealing my look, so don't go stealing my name, too!" The two continued to share their laugh. It was a running joke between the two named Nicholas.
"You never know, Schnee." He gave a cheeky smile. "Maybe my son will woo one of your girls?"
"If he has your charm or half your density, then I shouldn't have to worry." Her grandfather replied with a smile.
"Er, Mr. Ar- Nicholas Arc, sir," Klein called again, "Master Jacques will see you now."
The man shook his head. "And we were having such a great time, too."
---------------------------------------------------
"I don't think that was a great time at all."
"Sure it was, Ren!" The bubbly girl replied to the lean gentleman. "I got to ride a Grimm, then got a cute, little castle, and then got to kill a giant scorpion thing!"
"A Deathstalker." Ren corrected.
"Get goose height."
"Gesundheit." Weiss said.
"Huh?"
"Gesundheit," she repeated, turning to the pair, "it's Atlesian for health."
"Oh, like-"
"From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!"
Weiss clapped from her place beside the two. As the names were called for the next team, she glared hard at the blond fool. Her gaze only burned hotter as it was announced the son of a snake was deemed in any way capable of leading a team. Her hated enemy was either more clever than he initially appeared or was charismatic enough to be believed. She couldn't believe either option, which angered her ever more.
As the months at Beacon rolled by, it had become clear that the fool grew affections for her. This would not stand, so she pushed her disgust and hatred for him as far as she could. Unfortunately, it only seemed to interest him more.
It seemed she would have to get physical.
---------------------------------------------------
"Are you sure you can't stay another week?"
"I'd love to, Willie, but if I don't get home soon, Jaune might start crying again." The man chuckled. "It's still surprising that my only son is the most emotional of the five."
"Well, he is your son." Grandfather chuckled.
"Ha ha ha." He dryly replied. "Good luck on your mission. Hope the bullhead doesn't crash from your fat head."
"My wife says it's quite distinguished." Grandfather replied with a smile. "But I should be fine, and I appreciate the concern."
The man approached her grandfather and grabbed his arm. In return, her grandfather grabbed his. Blue eyes met blue eyes and the two silently nodded.
"If there's any trouble, you'll give me a call, right?" The man asked.
"Of course." Her mother said. "But only if you promise to come as soon as we do."
"Of course!" He smiled. "You have my word!"
"And we all know how an Arc never goes back on his word." Grandfather finished. "Take care, Nick."
"You, too, Big Nick."
With that, the man left, leaving the Weiss to watch the door a little longer from her perch atop the stairs. How could she have known then that would be the last she saw of both the man and her grandfather? She couldn't.
Not even as she drifted to sleep watching from above.
---------------------------------------------------
"Agh!" Jaune tripped as he stepped back, falling backwards. As he stood, Weiss pressed the attack and struck again, knocking him down again. "Give me a break, Snow Ang- Agh!"
"Shut up!" Weiss spat. "If you have breath to speak, you have breath to fight!"
"It's supposed to be friendly sparring." Jaune groused as he stood, hefting his shield up.
"In case you haven't noticed..." Weiss thrust at him, but didn't connect. Instead, she feinted, tapped Myrtenaster, activated a dust round, and stepped away. Jaune approached with a wide swing, like a fool. Dust empowered, she thrusted a torrent of ice shards into him. "We! Are! Not! Friends!" Jaune fell onto his back, icicles cracking as they covered his chest. "I despise you. Loathe you. HATE you entirely."
"Why, though?" Jaune groaned as he tried to lift himself. "I haven't done anything- RGH!" Jaune's body was trapped in a black circle, his weight doubling, if not tripling within.
"That is exactly why." Weiss growled as she held her icy gaze on him. "All an Arc does is nothing."
---------------------------------------------------
"Dad?" Jaune crept into his father's den. It had been a while since he spoke to him, and even longer since he came back from his mission. "Dad, can I talk to you?"
"I'm busy, Jaune." His father weakly groaned from his chair. The room once full of light and life with open windows and music on the record was now dark and dim with shades shut and the only light from the hallway. "We'll play later."
"Dad, I..." Jaune gulped. "I was wondering if you could teach me how to use a sword."
The room was silent. Jaune gulped as he stood in the light, waiting for his father's reply. As the chair squeaked, he flinched. As his father approached, Jaune's little heart hammered in his chest.
A gentle hand rested on Jaune's shoulders, and turned him to the door. "Another time."
"Arc's word?" Jaune asked.
Nicholas flinched, though only he noticed it. Without answering, he shut the door. He walked back to his desk and sat in the darkness. He tapped his scroll and swiped through the old photos he took. It had been two months since his best friend's funeral, and even longer since he spoke to his family.
Nicholas Arc was a coward who couldn't keep his word.

Team RWBY will become the next generation of Maidens
Tumblr media
(Disclaimer, none of the edited images above are mine! I just found them on google lol. Also, SPOILERS FOR VOLUME 9!!!)
So this is kind of just a random theory of mine that I’ve been brewing for a while and I’m sure someone has mentioned it before, but I’m simply gonna explain why this would be the logical and plausible ending for the entire show.
We know the identity of the current three maidens. Cinder Fall is the Fall Maiden, Winter Schnee is the Winter Maiden, Raven Branwen is the Spring Maiden, but we have interestingly never had a confirmation on the identity of the Summer Maiden. Some fans (including myself) speculate one of two things: the Summer Maiden is someone completely random/character we haven’t been introduced to yet, or... Summer Rose is the Summer Maiden. Now if this were the case, then that means Summer Rose isn’t actually dead.
The very first scene in the final episode of Volume 9, we see a private conversation take place between Summer and Raven about a secret mission Summer embarks on alone. We aren’t sure about the details of the secret mission except for the fact she had lied to her friends and family about it. To me, that sounds an awful lot like she either faked her own death or nobody found a body when she dissapeared and assumed she was dead. I think Mama Rose is still alive somewhere (possibly lurking around in the Ever After which I’ll circle back on)
As for the transference of the Maiden Powers to Team RWBY, I must address the elephant in the room. A few of our beloved side characters must die.
I’ll start with the obvious. Raven and Yang.
Tumblr media
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Raven takes a fatal blow in a battle either from Salam’s forces or possibly even a Cinder battle 2.0 or Salem herself. I know damn well the final person in her thoughts would be her daughter. Go ahead and tell me I’m wrong. She knows out of everyone, Yang is the most trust-worthy and deserving of such power. Even Ozpin himself had once told her “Your mother must trust you a great deal” when Raven told Yang about how Ozpin turned her and Qrow into birds. In this case, it will be Raven’s final act of protection for her daughter to assure she’ll have a better chance of survival. Not only this, the transference of powers scene between her and Yang would be the most memorable and meaningful moment between them in the entire series. (And gods, Yang out of all of Team RWBY would make the most sense to become a maiden. Her hair ignites on fire for crying out loud!)
Next we have Winter and Weiss.
Tumblr media
This one will be considerably more painful to witness considering how strong their relationship is and everything they’ve been through growing up together. My best guess is Winter will die battling Salem or possibly alongside Weiss in battle against a different antagonist, but I’m confident it will happen the soonest. And I mean like Volume 10 or 11 kind of soon. Winter and Weiss will likely be reunited in Volume 10 and near the end Winter will meet her fate, giving the Maiden Powers to her sister who will benefit the most from them. With Weiss gaining these powers, imagine her dust glyphs on steroids. She’d be a fucking unit against Salem’s forces (as I’m sure Winter would be too.)
Then, Blake and Cinder.
Tumblr media
I actually have quite a bit of evidence to back this one up. Cinder really doesn’t have anybody close to her that she would even consider giving up her powers for. She’s a greedy bitch and would probably think nobody would receive her powers if she just didn’t think of anyone when she died, only come to find out the final person to look into her eyes before her final breath is the one to take the powers from her. Ironwood once mentioned that it’s not uncommon for the powers to be transferred to an enemy who the Maiden faced in her final moments. Blake absolutely deserves the right to send Cinder to meet her makers and snatch up her Maiden powers. It would be so satisfying to see Cinder and Blake meet up in the holding space between life and death, but Cinder becomes furious when she realizes Blake will be the one to take HER precious power. It’s the ultimate justice and the best revenge Blake could ever obtain. (Also, Blake would become the first Faunus Maiden that we know of and she'd be such a girlboss for it ;p)
And finally, Summer and Ruby.
Tumblr media
In the end, I think it would be a wonderful way to wrap up the entire series by making all of Team RWBY into Maidens and would be the most logical way they could defeat Salem. Of course, this is also assuming they somehow are able to get all of the relics and use that to assist them in defeating Salem once and for all. Also, for shipping purposes, it pretty much sums up the soulmate parallels for the four of them to become maidens. Blake (Fall Maiden) + Yang (Spring Maiden); Weiss (Winter Maiden) + Ruby (Summer Maiden). I think it just fits all of them so well!
As I previously mentioned, Summer being alive and the current Summer Maiden would open the door for Ruby to receive Maiden powers. I’m not entirely sure how it would look and I could theorize for hours to try and explain it, so I’ll keep this short. My current belief is that Summer is in the Ever After which would mean at some point Team RWBY would have to return to deal with Neo’s bullshit and at some point come across Summer. In a heated battle, Summer knows her time to ascend has come. If we take a look at Ruby’s ascension, she technically didn’t even ascend at all. She chose herself which means she didn’t become a new person with no memories of her past or who she is. However, I’m fully confident that Summer will choose to become a different person. She knows she would lose all her memories of her family, her Team, and everything that makes her Summer Rose. This includes her Maiden Powers. It would make the most logical sense that she’d transfer them to her daughter Ruby as her final act of a mother’s love. It would be poetic and the perfect character development for both Summer and Ruby. Plus, imagine how much more powerful Ruby’s silver eyes will become. With Maiden Powers, her petrifying glow from her eyes might be powerful enough to trap anything that’s Grim, including Salem. She wouldn’t be dead, but she’d be imprisoned in stone and petrify for the rest of time.
[Another minor theory in relation to this: Summer is actually dead and passed on her Maiden Powers to Ruby when she was still an infant which means Ruby's powers would be dormant until the time is right]

I/NCEST BRACKET - SEMI FINALS: ENABLER VS SCHNEESTER LOVE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda is below the cut.
ENABLER
“they are incredibly close, also Ruby was totally jealous in vol9, she told me herself.”
“Yang basically raised Ruby and has been there for her since day one. Protective big sis Yang and her precious little rose. The dragon and her baby sister. They are just meant for each other. Not to forget that the red and yellow goes together so well.”
“The original! Before there was White Rose there was Enabler—it’s history really, and damn if they aren’t cute. Goth little sister x jock older sister, trying to protect your baby sister x trying to be as cool as your big sister? So good.”
SCHNEESTER LOVE
“The affectionate older one and the idolizing younger one my beloved <3 and they’ve got the range! Do you like rougher, more abusive ships? V3 onwards has got you covered with Winter’s almost disdainful treatment of Weiss, or maybe you like sweeter, more doting ships? Then V7 onwards has got you covered with Winter clearly adoring Weiss—all in one package!”

Demand for a Duel Part Two:
The Contact over the Contract
Penny: Salutations Winter!
Winter: Hail and well met Madame Polendina! I request your assistance in transcribing my words onto parchment for a missive to my Mother, if you would be so inclined?
Penny: Of course Winter! Although why write a letter instead of Calling her on your scroll?
Winter: Aesthetic Dear. Are you prepared to write?
Penny: *holding genuine parchment and a Quill* Absolutely Winter!
Winter:
"Dearest Mother,
Whilst visiting Weiss a most intriguing event occurred. Saphron of Arcs, Knight of Rouge and Gold, Addressed my beloved sister in an aggressive manner, demanding reparations for a lack of feeling being returned to her brother in matters of romance. The given Deviation 'tween Lady Saphron and Sister Weiss' skills, I interceded, taking the place of whom was challenged. Yet My Sister is known to me, and she hath gazed at the only son sired by Prismeya and Blane Cherryl Arc, with not bile and ferocity, but with a gentleness I have seen reserved to only those she trusts most, and loves dearly. The look that, in my absence has left me forlorn and wanting for the affection we shared as Fledglings, but may only partake in during these scant moments we share. We had planned for a duel on the eve of this day, yet the Mistress of these festivities hath forasken that plan of Action. It will be held in one week. I pray for your schedules clarity so that you may bear witness to our battle.
Your Beloved Eldest, Winter Schnee"
Penny: Is that all Winter?
Winter: Indeed it is Penny. If you would be so kind as to deliver that letter and shut the door behind you, I would be appreciative. Gods Be with Ye.
Penny: Verily Knight Winter! *Steps outside* Salutations and well met Fair Weiss, Heiress of the Schnee Company, First to her Name!
Weiss: Huh! Oh! Hi Penny, I'd love to talk, But I'm looking for Winter Right now, Do you know where she is?
Penny: Your eldest sibling is right in here! I'm off to find my beloved Girlfriend Ruby. Gods be with Ye!
Weiss: Gods be with .. Ye? B-Bye?
Winter: Hello sister. What ills you on this day?
Weiss: Stop this. What even IS THIS!? WHat are you doing? HOw do you know Lady Saph- Saphron. Just Saphron.
Winter: Why do you wish me to cease my plans to duel Knight Saph-
Weiss: It's JUST Saphron.
Winter: -ron? To turn my belly skyward would bring tidings of shame and dishonor upon our name! And for how I know the eldest of the Arc children, Mother wished me to have Acquaintances beyond the suitors that father wished, and as such contacted an old ally of hers - Prismeya, Matriarch of the Arc lineage. We were 'Penpals' as our mothers put it.
Weiss: Okay. Whats with the archaic valean?
Winter: I know not of which you speak.
Weiss: ... You know what? I'm gonna go see if Jaune has had any success in talking sense into Saphron of Arcs.
Winter: Very well. Gods be with ye.
Weiss: Adieu, Fair sister.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jaune: Terra, Terra, Please, as your favorite Brother in law, the uncle to your child, PLEASE GET YOUR WIFE UNDER CONTROL.
Terra: Why would I do that? Do you know how long it's been seen I've watched her fight someone? Let alone go all out? I want to watch this.
Jaune: how was she even going to fight? I doubt she got her weapons back from mom.
Terra: She was gonna use Crocea Mors.
Jaune: Oh. Well she would've needed a bit to get used to the difference in weight and length.
Terra: Yeah, but because she has time now, shes writing a 'missive' to your mom telling her to bring your family, along with Reel and Woe
Jaune: SHES WHAT?
Terra: Jaune, I'm a foot away from you, please don't yell. What's wrong, Don't you miss them?
Jaune: I'm sorry, and of course I miss them. It's just ... I haven't seen most of them since I left, with a few letters and scroll calls sent back and forth. Plus all my family all at once is a lot. Especially since I have three teammates, and RWBY, and seven sisters ...
Terra: Your worried their all gonna pair off and leave you behind like all those kids did in grade school?
Jaune: I was gonna say They'll overwhelm me and cause wanton violence and destruction, Especially Nora and either Anna or Olive, but now I've got two things to be anxious about.
Weiss: Jaune! Hath thou wrought sense upon the mind of your eldest?
Jaune: Say that again in modern please.
Weiss: Whatever do you mean? I've been talking norm- Have I been talking like them?!
Jaune: Yes you were. Please gather your team. I need to show you all a presentation tomorrow.
Weiss: Brothers It's like a virus. I will get right on that! What's it about?
Jaune: Well I was hoping to introduce all of you slowly, It seems fate like throwing curve-balls at my head. Hope your ready to meet the family Weiss, because their sure as hell gonna be ready to meet you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To my beloved family,
I have found the wench that enraptured our dearest Jaune in beauty, only to dash his hopes upon rocks. In the process of demanding her to a duel, the sister of the Queen of Ice, Winter of the Schnees, Knight of the Frigid hearth, First of her name, and my old friend, took the younger Schnees place. I had planned upon using Fathers Blade, now wielded by Jaune, whom, if I may add, has developed fair skill in both Tactics on and off the field, as well as in swordplay, yet seeing as how I am facing a far more experienced opponent, I request you bring Reel and Woe for me. This will be a fight you wouldn't want to miss, so I also invite all of you to come as well.
In good health and Great anticipation,
Saphron Arc, knight of Rouge and Gold
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will Jaune survive seeing his family again?
What kinds of weapons are Reel and Woe?
If Saphron is here, and Terra is there, Who's watching Adrien?
It's Terra's sister who definitely exists. trust me.
If you would like to know the names I picked out for Jaune's family and their origins, please ask away! I'd love to talk about them!
Zuko of course for the ship ask, and a RWBY team member of your choosing
Prince Zuko!
My NOTP: Zutara, Azula x Zuko. The former for the fact that the fandom shipped them even when Zuko and Katara were enemies. The latter for the fact that it's incest.
My BRTOP: Either Zuko and Aang or Zuko and Sokka. They play off each other well.
My OTP: Welp. I'm a Maiko (Mai x Zuko) already. So, the canon for me. Yus.
My second choice pairing: Hm. For Zuko? I haven't given it much thought, but I guess that girl Iroh tried setting him up with in the Tales of Ba Sing Se. That or Toph.
My Fluffy pairing: Zuko and Ty Lee. Don't ask me why, I have no idea.
My angsty pairing: Oof. Hm. Who would make for good angst...? Jet and Zuko, I guess? Both people hurt deep by the Fire Nation.
Favorite Poly ship: Zuko, Aang, Toph, and Sokka. The gang getting in trouble together. That or Zuko, Mai and Ty Lee. Because again, trouble would be gotten up to a lot.
Weirdest Pairing: Zuko and his honor, Zuko and tea. Not entirely sure if any other Zuko pairing exists that's weird.
~
Well, a RWBY character. Hard to pick. I'll go with my current Team RWBY Favorite: The Ice Queen, Weiss Schnee~
My NOTP: Weiss and her family, Weiss and Adam, Weiss and Cardin. Weiss and any of the adults in general. I'd honestly also say Weiss and Jaune.
My BRTOP: Weiss and Jaune, ironically. I love that these two are now great friends. Teams RBY and JNPR likewise.
My OTP: WhiteRose. Hey, the Bees already dominate my mind since Volume 2 and Weiss and Ruby need something. Preferably each other if Rose Garden doesn't come to pass.
My second choice: Freezer Burn, followed by Schneekos. With Timefreezer coming in at a close third.
My fluffy pairing: For Weiss? Hm. WhiteRose is already fluff. But to get down to it, I suppose I'm partial to either Bat Schnee (Batman and Weiss from the JLA crossover, provided Bruce is still his younger self) or Schneekos, or Frosen Steel.
My angsty pairing: Oh boy. For Weiss? Snowflake in the Rough (Weiss and Emerald), Shneekos post V3, and any Penny ship post V3 and V8.
Poly Ship: Bees Schnees and Frosen Steel. Long suffering Weiss, my beloved.
Weirdest Pairing: Ones that I ship? That's an odd question. Hm. If BruWeiss doesn't count...hm. There's a crossover ship called Fire & Ice which is Weiss and Shoto Todoroki from MHA, but in RWBY...hm. Only one I can think of in RWBY that's weird that I'd ship is either Weisscream (Weiss and Neo), Neapolitan Shakes (Neo, Weiss, and Emerald), Newspaper (Weiss, Blake, and Ruby) or Winter Greenhouse (Weiss, Ruby, Blake, Nora, and Penny)
All of that being said, it depends upon on the writing of course. The NOTP's are all ones I won't ship no matter how good the writing is. So...yeah. Hope that works?
Sorry for this being late. Life came at me fast.
I like side characters for what they are, but I am not joking or being faux-diplomatic when I say my favorite characters in RWBY are R-W-B-Y.
Main characters actually have to shoulder the plot and make decisions that have consequence, and can have setbacks because those are in service of their own arc (not someone else’s). I sometimes get annoyed when people glom onto side characters like they’re keeping little score cards to tally up points in the Character Olympics (instead of watching a full narrative) because it’s like…of course Side Character Q didn’t do a thing that was annoying or controversial or regressive to their character. Because they aren’t a character, they are a satellite.
That being said…Winter Schnee my beloved.
what rwby ships do u like?
my most beloved rwby ship is a rarepair that speaks like. 2 sentences to each other in canon. schneewood forest my beloved!! they're so funny to me like what the fuck is robyn hill, socialist organizer, doing making out with winter schnee, notable goon for ironwood?? the world may never know. these two are awful for each other. they're the only two people who try to understand each other. they're in love. they're enemies. they're whatever the state requires them to be. I'm obsessed with them.
Beyond that I like most other rwby ships: bumbleby, whiterose, fairgame, whatever the ship name is for cinder/neo (I love two women in an incredibly toxic relationship)
honestly I could be convinced of just abt any ship at this point like I truly do not have a preference beyond schneewood forest 😭😭😭
I've written a few rwby fics u can find them all here!
