okay first of all… don’t judge me for the picture i’m getting ready for when spooky season starts ok????? 😂

if it had been a more serious picture, this movie def would have been some kind of drama or bittersweet slice-of-life or something (especially taking song lyrics into consideration) but considering the picture…

i think this would be a cute rom-commy summer flick where we play best friends & now ex-college students who have just graduated and are giving themselves one last summer before fully embracing Adulthood™️

they try pack as many “childish” bucket list items (aka Shenanigans) into the next two months as possible before they each move to different sides of the country for their careers, each obliviously falling more and more in love with each other the sillier their shenanigans get.

blah blah blah realizing whimsy and wonder and silliness don’t have to disappear with age but also realizing this chapter of their lives is indeed coming to a close, and the will-they-won’t-they tension that’s been building the whole movie comes to a head when they’ve just finished their halloween-themed movie marathon (“it’s barely august?” “shut up chan” “ok whatever, have fun weirdos”) and seungkwan confesses something along the lines of “i don’t want this to end. i want to live in this chapter forever”

“me too. but we’ll be okay, yeah? wherever our next chapters take us. because i know that no matter what, we’ll find each other in the epilogue. right?”

and then it’s an open but hopeful ending where they’re both at the airport with their luggage getting ready to head to their respective flights (still wearing their stupid halloween hats) and they’re giving each other one last hug and “catch you in the epilogue” “promise?” “promise.”
