Predictions for Arthdal Chronicles

The prophecy was misinterpreted. Instead of sword/bell/mirror, it's actually sword/bell/shield

Yangcha was born the same day as Saya, Tanya and Eunsom

Saya and Eunsom are the sword, while Yangcha is the shield.

I might be wrong, but I just thought I'd put this out there.

ps: the idea that inaishingi and aramun were the same person would make sense if they were twin brothers and one of them got murdered. because we're seeing it play out right in front of us with saya and eunsom being at the head of both armies. with them swapping places, that means that both of them would be each other and themselves at different times in history. which is something that could have happened between inaishingi and aramun, if they were twins.

history says both men were on opposite sides of the war. and yet, from what we know, as audience members, they may very well be the same person(s). like twins who swap places. or twins who could see each other's dreams. or twins who could communicate over long distances by focusing on each other (when they eventually learn to control it like tanya has done with her own powers).

Like, I enjoyed this a lot more than I should have seeing as I actually adore Eunseom to death, but after reading a whole bunch of hogwash about "Saya is a psycho" "Saya isn't as good as Eunseom" "Saya is a creep" etc, I really enjoyed watching Saya whack Eunseom on the head with a soft dirt stone. The thing is, people don't seem to have a strong sense of awareness these days, not to mention a lack of emotional empathy. Saya isn't a psycho at all. He is actually just an emo kid who no one has ever loved. Sure he can be mean but he was raised that way. He never seems to actually hold evil intentions toward anyone. Another thing about him is, he really doesn't understand people or right and wrong but he had mostly been making the right decisions so far and he definitely knows love even though it was never shown to him except for in his dreams. In Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Hae Soo loved Wook at first the same way Tanya loved Eunseom, but through all So's efforts he finally won Hae Soo's heart the same way Saya is winning over Tanya's heart. I think her spells are quite dangerous though and she probably made a double edged sword with her spell on Saya. She said they would see who is whose master but in love people owe and owe some more, so its impossible to be someone's master. Tanya has so far understood Saya's feelings though and she hasn't treated them respectfully as he deserves. I really hope she comes around and shows him a little more kindness.

Not related but...HOW did people start shipping Tanya and Yangcha? I get that ships don't have to be cannon, I love a good crackship when I see it, but there is no chemistry at all. At all. The only thing people can latch onto is that Tanya can read his mind. Tanya can read anyone's mind. Yangcha doesn't talk though so it seems...special somehow?? I admit I'd ship it purely for their looks but I need SOME chemistry atleast.

Arthdal Chronicles really won't be the same without Song Joong Ki. Rip O!Eunseom, O!Saya(and I guess O!Tanya too).

to be fair, Taelha is exactly the kind of mother i thought she would be

i feel like the other Joon Ki showed more nuance. (which is so weird to me, i always believed this one was a better actor, even if i haven't seen either in much.) this one mostly looks tired. although that may be the way the twins are written now.

also i'm mildly bored and annoyed. idk if it's just because the writing got worse or because i never was passionate about it in the first place and 4 years in between seasons didn't help, or both. i mean i'm 10 minutes into ep3 and i honestly wouldn't care if i never saw the rest of it.

Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun first impressions

I finally got to watch episode 1 (with the wackiest subtitles ever fml) and wanted to do a quick overview. this is just me trying to put my emotions in order btw bc it was a lot

beware: spoilers below!!

1. omfg it's here!!!! it's been 84 years 😭!!!

2. will forever miss the og cast but I could get behind this, just give it a few more eps

3. glad to have ljg rocking this role, the man knows his way around historical-ish dramas and you can tell they're using his experience in action-oriented roles as eunseom is literally kicking asses nonstop this season

4. before watching, I was honestly afraid about how well ljg would portray saya and eunseom's personalities so we could get that feeling of them being very different people. however, after having watched the ep I think he's capable of nailing the inner differences in both characters. lgj sorry I doubted you

5. this new tanya feels so... poised. not sure that's a bad thing, giving her role of high priestess, but it just feels so foreign from og tanya. she still seems to have that calculating vein in her which is good but this person just feels different from the tanya that fought nail and tooth through the mud against tagon's men. which brings me to my next point

6. I will give the character time for ssk's interpretation to grow on me however I'm really not sure if she has the range to fill kjw's shoes. sorry but kjw just set the bar too high

6. moving on. what was the reason for a 8-10 years time skip?? literally why???

7. don't tell me it was to make us believe this eunseom and tanya are "adults" now bc sjk and kjw already looked like grown-up people so why other reason did they have to pull this? S1 last ep literally ended on such a cliffhanger note for them not to do a follow-up from there. saya's face when he found out the truth?? tanya's "we're screwed" look?? the room for plot development that scene alone held??? and they decided to throw it all in the shadows and resume the story 10 years later??

8. istg I can forgive them for changing almost half the og cast but this ridiculous time skip?? a 2-3 years time skip would've been great. a few time would've passed but not too much for the stakes to cool down. now you're telling me 10 years have passed and they're nowhere closer to winning than they were last season?? what happened during those years we didn't get to see then?

you're telling me tanya just gave up and for 10 years straight she just played her role as tagon's puppet obediently and quietly? without coming up with any plan to turn the tables or smth, just lay around for 10 years? "oh but she's making plans now" okay and??? 10 years have passed and she's only trying to mind-control people now?? (trying being the keyword here). literally why??

9. fr this time skip is the worst idea they could've come up with. not only it did tanya dirty but also eunseom's army. you're telling me not a single person guessed there could be a mole among them in 10 WHOLE FUCKING YEARS?? here's a whole fleet that can't realize they've been spied on for YEARS?? bffr that long-ass time skip was a disservice for everyone

10. anyways, at least yangcha is here!!

(not the writers making this man hold this unspeakable tension with tanya for 10 years. make them canon or stop fooling us!! 💀)

11. ngl I quite literally forgot about some characters and their arcs, when they came on screen I was like ??? wait a damn minute

12. tanya and eunseom still waiting for each other!!! crying screaming sobbing, my babies. although I was temporarily tempted by saya but tanya x eunseom is the hill I will die on

11. overall, yes I'm very hyped. I will always miss sjk and kjw as tanya and eunseom but nothing in the world would stop me from witnessing myself how this story ends
