Rating Of Every Raichu Sprite From Main Series Pokemon Games
Pokemon Red/Blue:
Detailed for what limited pallets the gameboy had back than, slightly minamalist and simplistic in design as all gen 1 Pokemon are. I respect this elder regardless for his original design. 9/10
Pokemon Yellow:
A PERFECT BOY!! Look at that expression full of excitement! I wish we could have seen more of this quality Raichu in this game. 10/10
Pokemon G/S:
Designers, c’mon now. This isn’t fair. You can’t just make me choose between TWO sprites to rate!! But if I have to choose, than I prefer 1st sprite. He’s fat, powerful and that expression on his face just screams of smugness. The second Raichu, however, seems to have more mischievous expression rather than aggression. Both receive a 7/10.
Pokemon R/S/E/FR/LG:
Not as fat, but I do like his “PUT EM UP, SCRUB” pose. 9/10
Pokemon D/P:
He’s finally relaxed, he’s no longer in constant attack mode! I’m so proud of him of his comfort around others! 11/10
Pokemon Platinum:
I am concerned for his sudden shift in weight gain, but as long as he feels comfortable with his weight however, than so do I. Now there’s just more of this big boy to hug. 9/10
Pokemon HG/SS:
What a joyful expression! An improvement to the previous 2nd gen sprites. I trust him. 10/10.
Pokemon B/W/B2/W2:
Another quality sprite! This one takes inspiration from the mid animation frame from 4th gen, I see! I appreciate the reference. Also, look at the those LEGS! 9/10
Pokemon X/Y/OR/AS
Not much detail, and I miss his expressions and pose. He’s happy with his transcendence to 3D but I miss the little details. :( 5/10
Pokemon Sun/Moon:
NOW THAT’S MORE LIKE IT!! The happiest boy I’ve ever seen. Unratable, to put a number on his perfection would be a crime. He’s not quite as chubby however, but he must be light enough to fit on his tail. Still enjoys a Malasada every now and than. Finally gets his time in spotlight with his new found psychic powers away from the popularity of Pikachu. He’s even got his own Z-move! Good job, little buddy on your rise to stardom!
I think one of the big strengths of fanfiction as a medium is that it can, on average, assume the reader has a way higher degree of familiarity with canon than like…canon can. If you’re in the Star Wars AO3 tag you probably like Star Wars enough to remember more things about it than the average Star Wars-enjoying-ten-year-old. Which makes it way easier for fanwriter a to get to the juicy stuff and really engage with the worldbuilding or minor characters without having to spell out like. Who Wedge Antilles is for everyone who forgot or never noticed him in the first place. You could write a book about Wedge in the old EU because EU readers could also be assumed to be serious fans, but you can’t make a new canon Disney+ show about him. Those cost money to make and are intended for a broader audience.
And all this means that like. A good fic writer can and often will surpass canon when it comes to like. Thematic resonance and stuff, because they can really dig into something. Star Trek 2009 gave Kirk a new, more generic tragic backstory because it couldn’t expect the average moviegoer to be familiar with Kirk’s old, way more interesting tragic backstory. (Frankly, I’m not sure jj abrams knew about TOS Kirk’s backstory) whereas I have read a LOT of well-written, interesting, deeply resonant fanfic examinations of Tarsus IV, and what it means for Kirk’s character that he’s a genocide survivor. Star Trek 2009 answers the question “why did Kirk cheat on the kobayashi maru?” With “‘cause his dad crashed a spaceship when he was a baby.” A close examination of TOS canon implies the answer is “because he lived through a real-life Kobayashi that did have a win option, but which wasn’t taken.” BUT—and this is significant—even the TOS canon movies can’t really assume knowledge of the full TOS tv show, so that implication is never examined or made explicit. Instead it’s fanfic (and maybe spin off novels? Idk I’ve only read 2 trek books, if there’s one out there that covers this that would be really cool) where we get dives into that thread, where Kirk gets a commendation for original thinking because he can look a testing board in the eye and say “I’ve seen what happens when someone is entrenched in this kind of thinking, and I cannot let it happen to me. I understand the lesson, but it’s not hypothetical anymore and it never will be. I did what I had to do.” And that’s interesting! That’s meaningful! That can’t happen in a summer blockbuster. But it can happen in fic, easily, and that’s a strength of fic, I think.
couple of sketches of elite-era Red and Purple based off of @patchworkpoltergeist 's god-tier fanfic “Harder, Better, Faster, Taller.” literally think about this fic at least twice a week. ty so much for sharing your writing it's made me insane for years and I finally had to do art about it.
Just something silly that seemed funnier in my mind...OH WELL.
(In case you're wondering, Red can't use anything from his PAK since Zim blocked it so he couldn't use it to harm him :)) )
Suzanne Collins gripping my face with her hands: listen listen the first step to evil is dehumanisation, always, the second you start to see people as less than people no matter what they've done to you that's when you start heading down a path of selfish destruction and violence
When I rewatched all the episodes last year, I deciced that frycook was my favorite episode... but I'm starting to think that game slave 2 is. I think about it ALL the time. I'd say not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about gaz stalking and terrorizing iggins - that may be exaggerating - but only a little.
Also Iggins is so fucking terrible and I love him so much. There is no iggins content and I have to make it myself :'D I kind of wanted this drawing to be prettier but I ran out of gas tonight and got impatient. I hope you like it anyway :)
This is Siu Mai, but you might know her by her alter ego, Nassandra. Leader of the “Universal Family”, a resistance group that have gained huge power over the years, becoming a real menace for the Irken Empire. As you can see, they have eradicated tons of irkens and they will try to do the same with the Tallest.
They might have good intentions but their actions are certainly questionable. They don’t seem so different to those they try to destroy, do they?

You might recognize the person on the left, and to the right we have Nana, a character that was given to me by @dertyclown and that I’ve decided to give her a role on this resistance group. Nana takes care of Nassandra’s child, Nor Mai (Nori for shorties). Maybe I’ll introduce them better for another time :)
