I’m elated to tell you that my 9th studio album, and folklore’s sister record, will be out tonight at midnight eastern. It’s called evermore. To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in. I’ve never done this before. In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released. There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning. I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them. And I loved creating these songs with Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, WB, and Justin Vernon. We’ve also welcomed some new (and longtime) friends to our musical kitchen table this time around…
Tasmin here - A Swiftie of eleven years now, from, and living in the UK.
(I originally helped the In4merz UK Street Team promote you when you first came to London).
I wanted to post this message in the hope that you might see it someday and to know how thankful I am to you for writing and releasing such creative and incredible music, as well as for being such a wonderful, strong, generous and vibrant personality too.
Although I have been fortunate to see you three times live in concert here in England, I have, sadly, missed seeing you multiple times now…
2010 – Radio 1’s Teen Awards – London’s Hammersmith Apollo: Attended. I missed you leaving.
2011 – Speak Now Tour – London’s O2 Arena: Attended.
2014 – RED Tour - London’s O2 Arena: Attended (I began to get poorly around this time).
2015 – 1989 Tour – London’s Hyde Park: I had not long been out of hospital for a short stay due to a reflux diagnosis. I was meant to review the concert for my blog at the time. Although very disappointed that I wasn’t attending, I arranged for a father and his Swiftie daughter to go instead.
2018 – reputation Tour – London’s Wembley Stadium: The week before the first of two nights at this venue I was admitted into a London hospital (2 hours away from my home) for treatment for an eating disorder. I was then discharged the following year in January. I was gutted to be missing you again.
2020 – Lover Fest – London’s Hyde Park: My dad and I had our tickets for me to FINALLY see you for the first time in over six years, but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be this time either due to the current circumstances going on in the world right now.
Please know how much of a support you have been to me Taylor over these past few challenging years on my journey to reach good health again. I am SO proud of all that you have achieved.
Also, I look forward to the day when I will eventually see you perform live in person again – and maybe if I am lucky enough, meet you too.
Lot’s of love,

Self-doubt can be like falling down a rabbit hole, and it’s hard to tell whether it will end in some new epiphany or in feeling lost and defeated. Taking things one step at a time can be an exhausting process for impatient people like you and me, but I think one day you’ll look up and look around and see that finding yourself wasn’t as terrifying as you thought it would be.
