Not-so-humble Abode

"How do you make your armour man? I was never taught to make my own." Nal whined, polishing an icy blue chestplate. Livia had allowed them to stay at her house for a while, not really thinking about whether they would leave at all.

"It's a secret!" She laughed, dusting off her navy blue aramis cape. "...but I do use my electricity." She sneakily added.

Livia was heading off to go on a very important mission as a personal bodyguard for the Blazarin princess, Miyuki. The two had been close friends ever since their schools versed each other in the Fantasian school tournament which would take place every year. Miyuki had asked specifically for Livia to be her guard, turning down her own royal guards. Livia accepted, honoured that she had been personally requested by the princess.

"Where I come from... err... Democrus that is... we just went to the armour guy. Ironically his name was Armorus, so we all assumed he was made for the job, but the armour sucked ass, not gonna lie." Nal said, looking at the polished chestplate and handing it to Livia. "Personally, I called him Armour Ass, because it was funny, but then he would only give me the shitty prototype armour, so that was fun."

Livia laughed at the story. In her school, they were taught subjects specific to their career path. She had always wanted to be part of the royal guard, and now she was not only part of it, but also the general of the entire Fantasian army. She was often called to missions or accompanied high rank figures to places they considered dangerous.

"Have you ever wanted to go back to-"

"Oh fuck no." Nal interrupted, wide-eyed. "We get treated like shit from the second we're born, and then we get thrown into a random job. No one cares what we think. They wanted me to be part of the army, fight in wars and shit, and I wasn't up for that. So... I ran away." They explained, laying down on the hard, wooden floor, staring up at the ceiling as if there were clouds passing above them.

"Did anyone else escape?" Liv asked out of curiosity, putting on her gloves and adjusting the strap of her leather back scabbard that went across her torso.

"No idea. All I know is that I'm wanted there... for betrayal and rebellion or whatever." Nal sighed, stretching. "They said no one would want me... but now I'm wanted by them." They snickered, as did Livia.

"I mean, I wasn't exactly liked either. When I was at school, people absolutely hated me." She laughed sheepishly. Nal looked over to her.

"Why?"

"Because-"

"General, we must go now. Princess Miyuki is waiting for your company." A woman said from beyond the armoury door.

"Alright Mardyn, I'll be out in a second." Livia responded in a louder tone. "I have to hurry, Nal."

"Yeah, I know... hope it's not an inconvenience for me to stay here... at your place." Nal said, rubbing the back of their neck. Livia sighed and walked over to them, signalling for them to stand up. Once they did, she embraced them, startling them a bit.

"It's a pleasure... and an honour... to have you stay at my not-so-humble abode." She said with a smile. Nal relaxed and hugged her back.

"...thanks, be safe."

And with that, Livia was out the door.

Liv: Imagine holding hands with people. [Visibly gags] I would never hold hands with a person. Gross. Get that shit out of here.

Liv: I only hold hands with demons, people can fuck off.

Liv: Oh we're uh-

Nal: We're just-

Ash: Are you guys making out?

Liv: EW NO!

Nal: That's fucking gross.

Liv: We're making a... uhh... a very important video about how toilets work.

Nal: Yes, that is exactly it.

Ash: ...so how do toilets work then?

Liv:

Nal:

Just Friends

The weirdest things come out of friendship. Especially one formed from suffering. Livia and Miyuki both formed a friendship due to their pain in life. Meeting through competitions between realms and being forced to verse each other for the sake of their schools.

They didn’t let it hold them back though. They bonded over the pressure from their peers and soon became best friends. At first, people thought they were something more, but they knew that their bond was merely that of friendship.

Miyuki being a princess and Livia being a high class girl, they saw each other’s similarities and differences and found them interesting.

The rest of Team Quotev was discovered in many ways, but that doesn’t change the fact that each person was unique, and brought something new to the table.
